hi there
When i read something I need to underscore what i like, or what i think is important, and to take notices about that read, near on that current paragraph.
Soo, does anyone know a firefox addon or something else(other browser, any other application) which can provide me such a functionality?
ps: I've tried some research tools as zotero, but it is not what I'm looking for.
How can I make the border of shapes smoother, without re-touching it in detail ?
Is there any Photoshop advanced functionality doing it automatically ?
See example: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/72686/border.png
thanks
I have a server that is managed by Syscp.
The question is, if there are unresolveable dependencies, or services, that are managed by syscp already? For example Zimbra is intended using postfix but syscp is managing that already.
I guess, that will not be possible, but maybe without having the full functionality of Zimbra. I only need the calendar and contacts-support with CalDav.
(besides: I am using debian sqeeze but this is interesting in general)
I've added a recycle bin shortcut to my taskbar (as described on LifeHacker). But the reason I did this is to have OSX like functionality - to be able to drop files onto the shortcut to delete them. It doesn't work.
Is this even possible? How?
Is their a way on Mac OS X to sync a folder on my computer with Google Documents now that Docs supports all file types?
A lot like the functionality of DropBox.
I need to create an Active Directory lab that contains printers and test out various printer-related functionality (adding printers in AD, clients attaching to printers, printers, etc)
Is there a good way to properly simulate printers on a network? Or does there need to be real physical printers somewhere that eventually are attached, even if no output comes out.
How would you solve this problem?
Hi there,
I just stumbled across this Airfoil on Mac OS X, which lets me 'throw' music from my laptop to any other linux machine, iPhone or other device hooked up to a better set of speakers than my laptop - here's the page below:
http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac/
What tools would I use to recreate this functionality on a linux box - are there any nice GUI interfaces to something like pulse audio (which is what I imagine I'd use ) for doing this?
Thanks
My Sony Vaio laptop has a built-in program called "Sony Battery Care" which provides a functionality to hold battery at certain levels of charge while operating. For example, I've set it to 50% and the battery is always kept at that level while on AC power. This mode prevents battery degradation and is more effective as I usually use my laptop with AC power.
I'm looking for a similar program to use with other laptops with Windows OS; preferably a free one.
I'm not able to send mails from my server using MAILX command, have found that some of them, sendmail.cf has no entry for DS.Is there any other things which can disable mail functionality in server?
I love the way I can resize windows in vim using the mouse.
Is it possible to do the same in GNU screen? If not, is there an alternative to screen that supports this functionality?
When I attempt to search for an email, if I search for the email using the search toolbar within Outlook 2007, no results are found.
However, if I use the Windows 7 built-in search functionality found when you click the Start button, using the same search criteria as I did in Outlook, Windows 7 finds the email immediately.
Question: how can I make Outlook 2007 find the email(s) I'm searching for that Windows 7 finds that Outlook doesn't?
thinking about blocking all '.info' domains on a server running netqmail-1.06
I saw the instructions for the badmailfrom-wildcard patch http://tomclegg.net/qmail-bmf-wildcard specifically mention qmail-1.03 and make no mention of netqmail-1.06.
I searched around to see if this patch is already included but didn't find any information in the netqmail changelog http://www.qmail.org/netqmail/CHANGES or anywhere
Tried using it by putting '.info' into the badmailfrom file and restarted qmail without error, it seems to be working.
Can anyone confirm that this functionality is included in netqmail-1.06?
I am looking for a utility that can take a snapshot of the files in directories that I am interested in and then compare that snapshot to the current state of the system and show me any files that have been added, changed, or deleted. Does anyone know of solutions that provide this functionality?
Thanks,
Nate
Given a floor-plan, which is too big for any screen, even if it is a 17" one, how can I show it online like a map? It would need further functionality that a browser alone does not have (just zoom in/out the entire image won't do the trick). The image will be breaked down into smaller jpgs, so the user will not have to download the whole floorplan at once.It will need some zoom in/zoom out button, and some way or bookmarking position (x,y). open-source solutions prefered.
I've looked at log4jdbc (which does not support datasources), p6spy which seems to be what I am looking for but it has not been updated since 2003 which makes me nervous and lists only JBoss 3.x (we use JBoss 5), and JAMon which seems heavyweight for what I am trying to accomplish (a simple log of all SQL statements running through a JBoss application server).
I was hoping that JBoss itself would have a switch to log all the sql (as Websphere does) but I cannot find any documentation for it so that functionality might not exist.
I've occasionally lost my config file "/etc/mysql/my.cnf", and want to restore it. The file belongs to package mysql-common which is needed for some vital functionality so I can't just purge && install it: the dependencies would be also uninstalled (or if I can ignore them temporarily, they won't be working).
Is there a way to restore the config file from a package without un-ar-ing the package file?
dpkg-reconfigure mysql-common did not restore it.
In previous versions of Windows, I have been able to "drag and drop" the My Computer icon to the top or sides of the desktop and convert it into a toolbar. The toolbar could be set "always on top" or "autohide". I found this a very convenient way to have instant access to all my drives with NO clicks.
Windows 7 does not appear to have this functionality. Is there any way to recreate a My Computer toolbar at the top of the Desktop in Windows 7?
With a typical USB hard drive enclosure, is the full range of drive power management functionality available?
In what may be an unrelated matter: is it possible to suspend a PC without unmounting an attached USB-powered drive, and then remounting it on resume? This is the behaviour I'm currently seeing (running Ubuntu linux 10.10).
Are there certain models or brands that provide more complete control over this aspect of drive operation? My Friendly Neighbourhood Computer Store carries (part of) the Vantec Nexstar product line.
I want to replace postfix with exim4 on my Ubuntu test server to reflect the setup I have on my production server, but apt-get and aptitude (quite understandably) insist on removing several packages that depend upon having a mail stack.
However, in this case I am prepared to override apt-get's undoubted good sense as exim should fulfil all the requirements of the dependent packages, providing mail and sendmail functionality for my applications. I don't want to remove the dependent packages as there is months of effort invested and, although backed up, will be a pain to reconstruct properly.
I'm logging through Remote Desktop to windows 7. Some other users sometimes try to connect to the same computer, then a message box pops up with information that I have 30 seconds to block this try or I will be logged off. Sometimes I'm away and then I'm being logged off and when I come back I have to log on again.
Is there a way to turn off this functionality for single user. Is there some application that always breaks this login process ?
We have a number of shared computers that users never seem to log out of. Am I correct that there is no built in functionality to automatically log off console sessions after an idle timeout? I've seen two suggestions: a logoff screensaver, and a scheduled task with an idle trigger. Will the idle trigger work if only the session is idle, but the computer is in use with a different session? Is there a better way to go about this? Thanks,
I've been adding a lot of things to my Vim configuration, and apparently one of the plugins I've installed is reclaiming . Whenever I use that key combination, it shows this error: "E784: Cannot close last tab page".
Is there a way to reclaim 's functionality without disabling the plugins? I mainly use it for switching between view panes in a split window.
