  I've basic question on Internet Connection Sharing in Windows XP. I've a Internet Connection through LAN and I've created an Ad-hoc network that is supposed to share the internet connection. My question is on which connection should I enable "Internet Connection Sharing"? Is it on LAN Connection'Settings > Advanced of Ad-hoc network Connections' Settings > Advanced ? Can you please help me?

  I have the router D-link 804HV that have 20mbit\s internet via PPoE tunnel . It connect three PC with Windows Xp to my home net. One of three my PC have reserve stability wi-fi internet connection. How can I use the wi-fi connection as reserve if the router connection is not available? I try to set the Wi-fi PC as gate for the other two, but it's not working.

  One of the desktop computers in my office is unable to access some particular websites. We've tried from Chrome, IE, Firefox, but no luck. eg: http://spsims.wto.org/ -> click on "Regular notifications" On the affected computer, every browser times out after the click. Whereas it should redirect the user to http://spsims.wto.org/web/pages/search/notification/regular/Search.aspx How can I diagnose this further? This is a Windows XP machine.

  I used truecrypted V.6.3a to partially encrypted (5gb) on my 16gb usb flashdrive on my XP netbook and eveything was fine. However, I don't see the ecrypted partial (5gb) when stick the usb into windows 7-32 bits (desktop). Tried to re-encrypted the usb on windows 7 (desktop) but results are the same.   When i type some Url say www.google.com in IE (installed and tested with IE 6.0/7.0/8.0) at first attempt it does not recognize that URL when i type it second time.It goes to the page. But when i test it in other browsers like firefox ,Chrome without problem it is working. How do I get the old XP behavior where the old folder is just replaced.   My users are running on windows XP 32bit. normally WSUS automatically download and notify them to select which update want to install in the past they were in local administrator rights,now I reduce them to user rights so now they can't see the yellow notification said updated are available. Is there a way to give users permission to see the yellow notification and they can select updates by hand without local admin rights or power users? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks

  I ran across a situation at work the other day where we were trying to move a pile of .url files on a Windows XP machine to bookmarks under Firefox on Mac OS X 10.5.8. It proved very frustrating, as we didn't have access to the source machine anymore (where we could have exported the bookmarks properly). Does anyone have a solution for that one?
