Is this possible using html.checkbox or html.checkboxfor. one way is recommended in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/626901/asp-net-mvc-rc2-checkboxes-with-explicit-values. Is there any other better way i want to do this as ModelState.IsValid is returning false because of hidden field value attribute Regards

  • TreeView nodes always have .Checked=true on postback even when not checked in UI

    I have a treeview in my .aspx: <asp:TreeView ID="tvDocCatAndType" runat="server" /> Not much else going on in the page -- two <asp:LinkButtons> and one <asp:Label>; the page is a child of a master page, so these controls are within a <asp:Content> control. I populate the treeview in code -- just 3 node levels, including the root node. All nodes have checkboxes, and I initialize all node.Checked to true. I have some Javascript to do the usual check/uncheck up and down the tree as parent and child node checkboxes are toggled. No matter how many checkboxes I clear in the UI, on postback every single node has node.Checked = true regardless of the state of the checkbox in the UI. This is not the first time I've used a treeview, but I've never had this problem before. I created this page by light adaptation of an earlier project that works fine.     Given two related tables (reports, report_fields) where there can be many report_fields entries for each reports entry, I need to allow the user to enter new report_fields, delete existing report_fields, and re-arrange the order. Currently I am using a DetailsView to handle the editing of the reports. I added some logic to handle report_fields, and currently it allows you to succesfully re-arrange the order, but i'm a little stumped as to the best way to add new items, or delete existing items. The basic logic I have is that each report_fields is represented by a . It has a description as the text, and a field for each field in the report_fields table. I use JQuery Sortable to allow the user to re-arrange the LIs.     Hi In a MVC application i want to validate the email addresses. I want to get the valid emailID from the list.If I use the emailaddress from the address book of any mail account then the name of the user get appended with the emailID .eg:"Ayushi Soni" ,.. and then copy these address to a textbox in an MVC application. Now I want to retrieve the actual EmailID from the list ignoring the name that is appended.Is there any utitliy or jquery that we can use to filter this out and validate the filtered email.   • Why isn't an exception thrown when the right .NET framework version is not present?

    We have a .NET application which targets .NET 3.5. Our clients run it from a shared drive (very infrequently) in order to have a central config file location. We have noticed that if a workstation accesses the shared drive and runs the program, but does not have .NET 3.5 installed, nothing happens, no error, no exception, no log entry, it just doesn't launch. Why is there no error message shown in windows by the CLR? Is there something I can put at the beginning of the code that would ensure that a proper error message is displayed? It is not an option to run an installer that would check for prereqs, as we are only installing it in one central location. Thanks.

    Hi, Currently I've created a ASP.Net page that has a dropdown control with autopostback set to true. I've also added color backgrounds for individual listitems. Whenever an item is selected in the dropdown control the styling is completely removed from all of the list items. How can I prevent this from happening? I need the postback to pull data based on the dropdown item that is selected.     I've installed .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on web server (Server 2008 Enterprise), so running IIS 7.0. I want to change the version of .NET Framework used by an existing site. So I right-click on appropriate Application Pool and selected Edit Application Pool. The .NET Framework dropdown does not include an explicit entry for framework 3.5, but just 2.0.50727. Does anyone know off the top of their head--is this just because the version of the core RTL in 3.5 is still 2.0? Or do I need to do something additional to get IIS to see version 3.5? (Did try restarting IIS). Thanks!

    Hi all! What i am trying to do here is to show a couple of validation messages in form of a bulletlist, so i have a Div on my master page containing a asp:bulletlist. Like this: <div> <asp:BulletedList ID="blstValidationErrorMessage" runat="server" BulletStyle="Disc"> </asp:BulletedList> </div> When i then click the Save button from any of my pages (inside the main contentPlaceHolder) i create a list of messages and give this list as datasouce like this: blstValidationErrorMessage.DataSource = validationMessageCollection; blstValidationErrorMessage.DataBind(); The save button is located inside an updatepanel: asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="UpdatePanel" ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Conditional" Nothing happens, i can see that the datasource of the bulletlist contains X items, the problems must arise because the Save button is inside an update panel and the elements outside this updatepanel (master page controls for example) is not refreshed. So my question is, how do i make the bulletlist refresh after the postback? Thanks in advance.
