  • MVC JsonResult with the [Authorize] attribute going to Logon but not displaying the view

    I am seeing odd behavior with MVC 3 methods that return a JsonResult when used with the Authorize attribute. What looks like happens is the Authorize is correctly evaluated when I am not logged in but instead of redirecting to the logon form the Json response is the logon form. Is there an addition attribute that directs the response to not return a value but instead redirect the user to the logon form, preferebly with the correct returnUrl value? What I did as a demo was to setup a new MVC3 site and added AspNetMembership to my DB using the aspnet_regsql.exe command. All that is setup and logging me in correctly. The behavior of the JsonResult doesn't seem right and I'm hoping I have just missed an attribute to make it work properly. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.     I have a series of links and when i click on a link i want to show a dialog with detail information. This detail is returned from an jquery ajax request. I am using the following code below to show a partial result through ajax onto a jquery dialog. When i click on another item (lets say i send id = 4567) it shows the content from 1234 still. Which i click this second item again (again its 4567), then it will show the content from 4567. Does anyone know why it might not be refreshed the first time? Is this a timing issue?

  • .NET - Unable to get values from Value property of HtmlInputHidden

    I have a custom control that inherits from .NET's CompositeControl class. This control overrides the CreateChildControls in order to build its child controls dynamically. I need the page to post back after a couple different javascript events occur on the client side. In order to accomplish this, I create two hidden controls on the page so I can set their values with javascript, submit the page, and read the values out on server side. Here's is the code I use to create these two hiddens: Protected Overrides Sub CreateChildControls() hdEventName = New HiddenField() Controls.Add(hdEventName) hdEventName.ID = "hdEventName" hdEventArgs = New HiddenField() Controls.Add(hdEventArgs) hdEventArgs.ID = "hdEventValue" ' other controls ' ... End Sub When a javascript event occurs I set the value attribute of the two hiddens and submit the page, like so: hdEventName.value = 'EventName'; hdEventArgs.value = 'arg1,arg2'; document.forms[0].submit(); In the OnLoad method of my control, I attempt to check the Value property of the hdEventName and hdEventArgs controls, but it is always empty. However, Page.Request.Form(hdEventName.UniqueID) and Page.Request.Form(hdEventArgs.UniqueID) return correct values. The actual HTML in the markup also shows correct values after the page posts back. Why is the Value property of the HtmlInputHiddens disconnected from the actual value that appears on the client?

    Hi, When I moved my website over to another server I've noticed now that ajax doesn't appear to be working. When I remote desktop to the server and go to the url on the server i.e. http://myserver/mywebsite ... everything works ok. When I open up the website in visual studio on the server it works as no problem as well. It's only when I connect remotely that the 'javascript' error occurs.     I am using a data grid and has bound a data source with it. I am trying to get the total number of records in the grid in overriden InitializePager method from pagedDataSource DataSourceCount. I thought DataSourceCount returns number of records from SelectCountMethod of ObjectDataSource. But DataSourceCount is giving me the page size and not the total number of records, whereas when I debug and see in SelectCountMethod it is returning correct number of total Records. I am not sure how to get the data from SelectCountMethod in DataGrid.

  • How to generilize view?

    Hey guys, I'm in the process of designing a set of views that use the same model in my app, the difference is that some views will differ in Read Only and Modifiable fields. So for example for view A I want to be able to modify A.One but no A.Two properties and for view B I want to have B.One and B.Two as modifiable fields. I was thinking in having a map that will hold this information and iterate both the modifiable and non-modifiable lists in a generic view, but I was thinking that maybe I can get feedback from you guys. What do you think?

  • Why won't my images align properly?

    I'm trying to make a dynamically sizable title banner, using fairly simple image tricks. I place the banner image in a table cell, and set the background-image of the table row to a one-pixel-wide repeat of the banner's right-most pixel column. Thus, the banner image appears to stretch to fit the screen width without stretching the logo. The code below is my entire page so far, and the problem is shown in a red circle in the screenshot. This is the transition where the main image ends and the one-pixel-wide background image begins. It appears that the one-pixel-wide bar at the end is compressed by one pixel - making the tops align properly, while the bottoms are one pixel off. I should add that I have checked the images more than once to make cure they the image data is correct.     I know this has been asked a million times but I think I need to make it a million and one. I am getting "A generic error has occurred in GDI+" when trying to save a new bitmap.
