  • How to track how many times an iPhone app is opened?

    - by Jason
I am building an iphone app and would like to keep track of how many times it has been opened so that I can prompt the user to do certain actions after it has been opened X number of times. I have thought about storing a variable in Core Data which I update every time it is opened, but this seems like a waste since it is a singleton data, not multiple instances of an object. What is the best way to store data like this and access it without slowing down the app opening time?

  • Selecting favourites from DB rails 3

    - by Richlewis
I have a small app which has Users, Recipes, Ingredients and preparation models A user has many recipes, recipes belong to user and ingredients/preparation belongs to recipes. Now a user can view all recipes but I would like the option to add the particular recipe to a favourites list. Would I need to set a new DB to hold this and then link by associations or could I add a column to the recipe model called fav for example? Im looking for the best practice here or if someone has done this before and can offer any advice that would be appreciated

  • How do I generate a RouteLink to a route in a different area?

    - by Max Schmeling
I have two different areas, and I have a route in one of those areas that is specific to that area, but I need to generate a link to that route using Html.RouteLink from another area (it's how you get over into the new area) but it won't work... It doesn't seem possible to use RouteLink to routes in a different area. What is the best way around this? Should I just define a new route in the other area and name it differently?

  • What happens if I give more inputs in estimateRigidTransform or getAffineTransform?

    - by user3531608
I am using estimateRigidTransform with about two vectors of 100 points and is working FINE. But somehow getAffineTransform doesn't work. I know that findHomography finds the best matrix using RANSAC and getPerspectiveTransform needs only 4 points. My question is what happens if I give more inputs in estimateRigidTransform or getAffineTransform? Does it take only 4 points from input matrix? Or do some kind of RANSAC?

  • Passing data to notification page

    - by FRKT
I'm not sure what the best way of populating a notification page is. I've been using sessions to populate it with information, but this falls short if the user is blocking cookies. I've considered passing it in HTTP GET variables, but I'm unsure whether it's a good alternative since its length is limited by some browsers. Which method do you prefer?

  • Rails - single ID for multiple models

    - by user352351
I'm building an app which will allow a user to scan the barcode on a 'shelf', 'box' or 'product' which will then bring up that particular item or all the associated items. As these are all separate models with their own ID's, I need a global ID table. I was thinking of a polymorphic table called 'barcodes' barcodes id barcode_number barcodable Is there an easy way to do this? Or is polymorphic the best way?

  • How is <tgmath.h> implemented?

    - by sync
C doesn't have (to the best of my knowledge) overloading or templates, right? So how can a set of type-agnostic functions with the same name exist in plain ol' C? The usual compile-time trickery would involve a whole bunch of macros, wouldn't it?

  • unique substrings using suffix tree

    - by user1708762
For a given string S of length n- Optimal algorithm for finding all unique substrings of S can't be less than O(n^2). So, the best algorithm will give us the complexity of O(n^2). As per what I have read, this can be implemented by creating suffix tree for S. The suffix tree for S can be created in O(n) time. Now, my question is- How can we use the suffix tree for S to get all the unique substrings of S in O(n^2)?
