  • User control disapear when added to a Panel

    - by dutt
I've got a user control class that works fine, drawing, events firing and the works. When i programmaticly add it to a class that extends from Panel it disapears. I've checked around and the line that makes it disapear is the line where i go panel.Controls.Add(myuserControl). Without that line the control works just fine, does anybody know why it won't show after the add? I'm currently doing the painting of the user control by overriding OnPaint, but the panel is using the default painting.

  • Visual Studio 2008 - Is it possible for two projects to share common classes?

    - by John M
In Visual Studio 2008 I know its possible to have one solution with two (or more) projects. Is it possible OR How is it possible for the projects to share common class files? For example - Project 1 has a log file handling class. Can Project 2 reference it? My hope is to increase code re-use and avoid two copies of the same thing that need to be maintained. The target is Winforms C# (3.5)

  • Why I cannot call setSomething()?

    - by badgirl
Hello. I dont know how to acces my method of my class ProjectNode, that is returned from ExplorerManager mgr like this: mgr.getRootContext().setSomething() getRootContext() returns Node object, but I put class ProjectNode (extends AbstractNode, abstractNode extends Node)into rootContext. The compiler does not want to eat that line of code. But it must!

  • How can I have a Foo* iterator to a vector of Foo?

    - by mghie
If I have a class that contains a std::list<Foo>, how can I implement iterators to a Foo* collection, preferably without using boost? I'd rather not maintain a parallel collection of pointers. For now I have std::list<Foo>, mostly so that removing or inserting an element does not invalidate all other iterators, but would it be possible to implement other iterators too, so that the collection type used in the implementation is opaque to the user of the class?

  • How to check font-size in IE6+

    - by kumarsfriends
Hi All, I am wondering is there any way we can test the font size/color of a webpage in IE6+. I think it is not possible by checking the css class, as some other style may overwrite the styles of the class which has been assinged to that text. Actually I want to know the browser assigned font-size to the text of the page, as we can do it in firebug on firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

  • netServiceBrowserDidStopSearch not called

    - by user263569
I'm now writing a Bonjour service listener class, according to the document here: Currently, it seems working, I can receive "netServiceBrowserWillSearch:" and "didFindService:moreComing:" correctly. However, after a long wait, I cannot receive " netServiceBrowserDidStopSearch:" or "netServiceBrowser:didNotSearch:". Therefore I don't know that is the proper time for my delegate class to stop showing some UI. Could anyone have an idea for this? Thanks.

  • Silverlight 3 + DataGrid.SelectedItems Question

    - by user208662
Hello, I am binding a collection of MyItem class instances to a DataGrid. The MyItem class has a property called "IsSelected". This property can get changed programmatically. How do I propogate that change back to the UI such that if this value is true, the row associated with MyItem is highlighted (selected) and if it is false, the row associated with MyItem is not highlighted? Thank you,

Is there a way to tell if a method is an override? For e.g. public class Foo { public virtual void DoSomething() {} public virtual int GimmeIntPleez() { return 0; } } public class BabyFoo: Foo { public override int GimmeIntPleez() { return -1; } } Is it possible to reflect on BabyFoo and tell if GimmeIntPleez is an override?

  • Implementing a plugin interface

    - by James P.
What's a good way of adding a plugin interface such that it's possible to have optional components? I'm aware of the Class.forName() approach (used with JDBC for example) but there is also dynamic class loading.

  • How to access a (shadowed) global function in ruby.

    - by yngvedh
Hi, I was wondering how to access a global function fn in ruby from a class which also defined a method fn. I have made a workaround by aliasing the function like so: def fn end class Bar alias global_fn fn def fn # how to access the global fn here without the alias global_fn end end I'm looking for something along the lines of c++'s :: to access global scope but I can't seem to locate any information about it. I guess I don't know specifically what I'm looking for.

  • Need help with map (c++, STL)

    - by Mike Dooley
Hi folks! Actually I'm new to C++. I tried something out (actually the map container) but it doesn't work the way I assumed it will... Before posting my code, I will explain it shortly. I created 3 classes: ClassA ClassDerivedA ClassAnotherDerivedA The two last ones are derived from "ClassA". Further I created a map: map<string,ClassA> test_map; I put some objects (from Type ClassDerivedA and ClassAnotherDerivedA) into the map. Keep in mind: the mapped value is from type "ClassA". This will only work because of Polymorphism. Finally I created an iterator which runs over my map and compares the user input with my keys in the map. If they match, it will call a specific method called "printOutput". And there is the Problem: Although i declared "printOutput" as "virtual" the only method called is the one from my base class, but why? and here is the code: #include <iostream> #include <map> using namespace std; class ClassA { public: virtual void printOutput() { cout << "ClassA" << endl; } }; class ClassDerivedA : public ClassA { public: void printOutput() { cout << "ClassDerivedA" << endl; } }; class ClassAnotherDerivedA: public ClassA { public: void printOutput() { cout << "ClassAnotherDerivedA" << endl; } }; int main() { ClassDerivedA class_derived_a; ClassAnotherDerivedA class_another_a; map<string,ClassA> test_map; test_map.insert(pair<string,ClassA>("deriveda", class_derived_a)); test_map.insert(pair<string,ClassA>("anothera", class_another_a)); string s; while( cin >> s ) { if( s != "quit" ) { map<string,ClassA>::iterator it = test_map.find(s); if(it != test_map.end()) it->second.printOutput(); } else break; } } Blockquote

  • Access "currentState" from other classes?

    - by Herter
I'm making a little application in Actionscript 3. In my initApp.as I have created another class which needs to edit the currentState, which is only accessible from the main .as (initApp.as). I found a solution such that I can reach the currentState property from my other class: Application.application.currentState. This is however not a good solution as it couples the classes too much.. is there a better way of editing the currentState from other classes?
