  I'm trying to set up a batch file to automatically deploy a php app to a web server. Basically, what I want is an entirely automated process: I would just give it a revision number from the repository and it would then export the files, upload via ftp and then update deployment info at the repo host (codebase). However, I'm starting from scratch here. How would I set up a batch file to accept a variable when it was run? For example, the command myfile.bat /revision 42 should deploy revision 42 to my server. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

• Dynamic URL to Stay the Same on all Pages

  so when my url looks like this: http://mywebsitehere.com/?kw=1 I am using this code below to do stuff with it: <?php if( isset($_GET['kw'] )){ //my div here } ?> It works great, and I am getting exactly what I want on the page. However, any link I click on that page will change the url structure and remove the ?kw=1 . Is there anyway to add the ?kw=1 to every link for that session? I have no clue how to do this? • How to prevent negative number in Mysql

  Hello guys.. I have data which is starting from 0 in my database. My php will add 1 or -1 to the data depending on the user's input. My problem is that if data is 0 and a user try to subtract 1. The data become 4294967295 which is the maximum value of INT data type. Are there anyways to make the data stays in 0 even when the user asks for -1? • Can I include a view in Kohana 3 that is not within `application/views`?

  I am building a staff area for a website, which is completely different to the main brochure style site. I have 2 Kohana systems setup. I realise they can both share the same system and modules folder. Now, with the second one, I want to make the main template view a view in a different folder. I tried this in my base controller $this->template = DOCROOT . '../~new2/application/views/template.php'; But Kohana is looking for it in its own views folder as evident by the error I received. I even put a var_dump(file_exists($this->template)); // true to be sure it was finding the correct file. Is there a way to add a template file that is not within the views folder, without hacking the core Kohana code (and if I'm lucky not extending and overloading the view class).

  I've made a simple guestbook mysql/php page. An entry is displayed if the approve column has a value of 1. For the adminstrator, I want to display either "message approved" or "not approved".   Hello, world! I'm trying to build a little bit advanced users system using Joomla, but I stuck at one spot. I added new field on Joomla's jos_users table, but when I wanted to get that field out, like "echo" - it didn't worked at all. Any other data, even password field I can get without problems. Of course, I added new value in /var/www/<project>/libraries/joomla/user/user.php like this after line 40. /** * The users address name * @var string */ var $address = null; What might be the problem here?   In my form I have a hidden field: <input type="hidden" name="auth_token" value="<?php echo $auth_token; ?>"> This value is also stored in a session and a variable: $_SESSION['auth_token'] = hash('sha256', rand() . time() . $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']); # TODO: put this in a function $auth_token = $_SESSION['auth_token']; When the form is submitted the two values are compared. It's a basic form token. Should this be made into two functions or just one when refactored? set_form_token() and get_form_token(), get_form_token() returning the session value, then I can compare it in my main code. What is the proper way of doing this?

  I'm fairly new to PHP - programming in general. So basically what I need to accomplish is, create an array of x amount of numbers (created randomly) who's value add up to n: Lets say, I have to create 4 numbers that add up to 30. I just need the first random dataset. The 4 and 30 here are variables which will be set by the user. Essentially something like x = amount of numbers; n = sum of all x's combined; create x random numbers which all add up to n; $row = array(5, 7, 10, 8) // these add up to 30 Also, no duplicates are allowed. I need the values with an array. I have been messing around with it sometime, however, my knowledge is fairly limited. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers

• How do I print array values in a range when values are supplied?

  My php reads in xml and I want to ouput the values within a given range. I have no way of knowing the size of the array or the range. However, I do know where to start; I have a $key that holds my current location. I also know where to stop; I have the word "ENDEVENTS" between each set. I want to get the values from my current position ($key) to my end position ("ENDEVENTS"). for example i may have an array set like this: Array( [0]=1 [1]=apple [2]=straw [3]=bike [4]=ENDEVENTS [5]=15 [6]=hair [7]=shirt [8]=nose [9]=kiwi [10]=ENDEVENTS ) My code knows when I'm on 15 (in this example $key=5). I want to print 6 through 9. I tried using foreach but it's thats causing issues with what I'm trying to produce. Any ideas?

  I'm sending some data to an external URL using Curl. The server sends me back a response in a string like this: trnApproved=0&trnId=10000002&messageId=7&messageText=DECLINE I can assign this string to a variable like this: $txResult = curl_exec( $ch ); echo "Result:<BR>"; echo $txResult; But how do I use the data that is sent back? I need a way to get the value of each variable sent back so that I can use it in my PHP script. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

• Get single Wordpress gallery image with given title

  I am having users of a Wordpress blog upload a single image to different post's galleries with the name "banner". Basically, every post will have an image named "banner" uploaded to its gallery and this image needs to be displayed on the post's page outside of the article content. So, how can I get the URL to display an image in a post's single.php template? Can I iterate through the images of a given post's gallery and find the one with the correct title somehow? I've searched through the Wordpress codex docs and haven't found anything on a way to do this, just information on displaying galleries of photos. Note that I'm already using Wordpress's post thumbnail feature for something else. Thanks!

  I'm making a tournament manager in CakePHP 1.3 and I have a tournament controller which is fine but I want to implement a interface that can be used to define how a tournament runs. the controller needs to load a concrete class that implements the TournamentStyle interface that defines how the tournament works. At the end of a round the TournamentStyle is used to calculate the scores and winners and generate the next round of matches. That gives me a .php file for the interface and other files for the various styles. My question is: where would I put these files and how would I load them into my tournament controller?

  Hello, I need to be able to encrypt the MySQL traffic from a web server to a database server. I know how to set MySQL to use SSL based on the server and client settings in my.cnf however, this needs to be done using mysql_connect() in PHP. This may be a 2 part question. 1) Does mysql_connect() use the MySQL client settings that are set in my.cnf? If not... I have read that you can use MYSQL_CLIENT_SSL however, where is the SSL data obtained from? Does using MYSQL_CLIENT_SSL in the mysql_connect function automagically encrypt the traffic? Simply put, what is the best way to do this? Thanks!

So the button don't works, only save the data, but don't link to the next page. How can I solve it ?

  I found some partial help but cannot seem to fully accomplish what I need. I need to be able to do the following: I need an regular expression to replace any 1 to 3 character words between two words that are longer than 3 characters with a match any expression: For example: walk to the beach == walk(.*)beach If the 1 to 3 character word is not preceded by a word that's longer than 3 characters then I want to translate that 1 to 3 letter word to ' ?' For example: on the beach == on ?the ?beach The simpler the rule the better (of course, if there's an alternative more complicated version that's more performant then I'll take that as well as I eventually anticipate heavy usage eventually). This will be used in a PHP context most likely with preg_replace. Thus, if you can put it in that context then even better!

It's obvious how you can open a window from a javascript link that frames an existing page, or just do a target=_blank from a regular a tag that references an existing page. But I am generating a bit of content, and want that content to be opened in a new link (or streamed to the viewer)-- something like (clearly psuedo code!): $content = "Hello World. <br />Nice to meet you!"; <a href="#" target="_blank" content=$content>Open up!</a> Is this possible? • Drupal and Back-End Complexity

  Currently I am working on a school website, and we are still in the decision-making process of choosing a framework (we know that we're not using Joomla! or hand-coding). Drupal came up as a viable choice, and currently, that is my best bet for the site. However, I have an issue with CMS's in general. I would like to develop a quite complicated and specifically custom-suited back-end application for teachers to interact with individual students, including the design of shared/custom calendars, announcement privileges, etc. I currently have a bit of expertise with HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and I could wrap my head around some JavaScript and AJAX stuff if need-be. However, would such a complicated application work with Drupal (in that I could create it to specifically suite my purposes)?
