  • c++ / c confusion

    - by mrbuxley
Im trying to make a small app in c++ that saves midifiles with this library. http://musicnote.sourceforge.net/docs/html/index.html The sample code that is given on the homepage looks like this. #include "MusicNoteLib.h" void main() { MusicNoteLib::Player player; // Create the Player Object player.Play("C D E F G A B"); // Play the Music Notes on the default MIDI output port } This piece of code won't compile in Visual studio 2008, I get many errors like MusicNoteLib.h(22) : error C4430: missing type specifier - int assumed. Note: C++ does not support default-int I don't understand the error or where to start looking... There also was some dll files that can be used instead of this h file. #ifndef __MUSICNOTE_LIB_H__EBEE094C_FF6E_43a1_A6CE_D619564F9C6A__ #define __MUSICNOTE_LIB_H__EBEE094C_FF6E_43a1_A6CE_D619564F9C6A__ /** @file MusicNoteLib.h * \brief Main header file for accessing the MusicNote Library */ /// <Summary> /// This header file can be included directly in your project or through /// MusicNoteLib.h of the MusicNoteDll project. • how do I send stuff to method using the JQuery Ajax method

    - by nisardotnet
$.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "WebService.asmx/AddVisitor", data: "{'fname':'dave', 'lname':'ward'}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json" }); I have an Asp.Net WebMethod that takes a firstName, lastName.....as a parameter, how do I send that stuff to that method using the JQuery Ajax method. if i hardcode the above it works without any problem but if i pass dynamic it fails var firstName = $("[id$='txtFirstName']"); var lastName = $("[id$='txtLastName']"); //data: "{'firstName':'Chris','lastName':'Brandsma'}"<br> data: "{'firstname':'" + escape(firstName.val()) + "','lastName':'" + escape(lastName.val()) + "'}", my WebMethod looks like this [WebMethod] public bool AddVisitor(string firstName, string lastName) { return true; } what wrong here? i have tried with eval and escape none of that works. Thanks for any help.

  • What's the best way of using a pair (triple, etc) of values as one value in C#?

    - by Yacoder
That is, I'd like to have a tuple of values. The use case on my mind: Dictionary<Pair<string, int>, object> or Dictionary<Triple<string, int, int>, object> Are there built-in types like Pair or Triple? Or what's the best way of implementing it? Update There are some general-purpose tuples implementations described in the answers, but for tuples used as keys in dictionaries you should additionaly verify correct calculation of the hash code. Some more info on that in another question. Update 2 I guess it is also worth reminding, that when you use some value as a key in dictionary, it should be immutable.

The notification appears when it must appear. BUT if the time HAS past (let's assume it is 10.31 AM) the notification fires every time... when I close and re-open the app, when I click on the notification... it has a really strange behavior. I can't figure out what's wrong in it. Can you help me please (and explain why, if you find a solution), thanks in advance :)

I tried this: <xsl:template match="DocumentElement/QueryResults[string(@FileName)]"> and this: <xsl:template match="DocumentElement/QueryResults[string-length(@FileName)>0]"> but it did not work. I need the same kind of data returning from the folloing XPath expression... <xsl:template match="DocumentElement/QueryResults"> ... but filtered to avoid items with empty attribute @FileName. • Multiple webservice calls

    - by Mujtaba Hassan
I have a webservice (ASP.NET) deployed on a webfarm. A client application consumes it on daily basis. The problem is that some of its calls are duplicated (with difference of milliseconds). For example I have a function Foo(string a,string b). The client app calls this webmethod as Foo('test1','test2') once but my log shows that it is being called twice or sometimes 3 or 4 times randomly. Is this anything wrong with the webfarm or the code? Note that the webmethod has simple straighfarward insert and update statements.

  • Task.wait not working as I imagined

    - by user2357446
I am trying to download a file, wait for the file to finish downloading, and then read the file afterwards. I have the following methods to do this: private async Task startDownload(string link, string savePath) { WebClient client = new WebClient(); client.DownloadProgressChanged += new DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler(client_DownloadProgressChanged); client.DownloadFileCompleted += new AsyncCompletedEventHandler(client_DownloadFileCompleted); await client.DownloadFileTaskAsync(new Uri(link), savePath); } private void checkUpdateButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Task task = Task.Factory.StartNew(() => startDownload(versionLink, versionSaveTo)); task.Wait(); if (task.IsCompleted) { checkVersion(); } } The checkVersion() method reads the file that was downloaded. This is throwing an IOException saying that the file is in use by something else and cannot be read. I thought that having task.Wait would prevent the rest of the method from executing until the task was finished?

  • C# How to download files from FTP Server

  • Is it possible to perform a forward into a new window?

    - by smayers81
We are using ICEFaces 1.8 and I would like to perform a forward to a new URL, but want it to open in a new window. We are currently able to perform a redirect to a new window as: public static void redirectToUrl(String urlPath) { if (urlPath != null) { try { final String url = FacesUtil.getContextPath() + urlPath; final StringBuffer jsCommand = new StringBuffer(); jsCommand.append("window.document.location.href='").append(url).append("';"); JavascriptContext.addJavascriptCall(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), jsCommand.toString()); } catch (Exception e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } } But is a forward possible using a similar approach?

  • Sending url params and POST body to a MVC 2 Controller

    - by Luiggi
Hi, I'm having some issues trying to make a HTTP PUT (or POST) using WebClient against a MVC 2 controller. The exception is: The parameters dictionary contains a null entry for parameter 'total' of non-nullable type 'System.Int32' for method 'System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult Company(System.Guid, Int32, Int32, System.String)' The controller action is: [HttpPut] public ActionResult Company(Guid uid, int id, int total, string url) The route is: routes.MapRoute( "CompanySet", "job/active/{uid}/company/{id}", new { controller = "Job", action = "Company" } ); As you may see, what I want is to send the 'uid' and 'id' parameters via url, but the 'total' and 'url' parameters as part of the PUT or POST body. I've also tried to merge the latter parameters into a class (i.e., CompanySetMessage), doing it no longer raises an exception but I dont receive the values on the server side. Any ideas? Thank you!

  • urllib alternative for iPhone

    - by Pr301
hi, I am trying to create an iPhone application which in some point connects to the internet, fills an on-line form, fetches the resulting website, parses it and returns a string to the user. I want all this process to happen in the background. I know how to do this kind of things with python and urllib but in objc I can't find an alternative, from on-line search I found either sites that explain how to use webkit to retrieve webpages (I suppose this is for displaying them to the user) or how to parse an existing HTML file or string. Since I want the file to be retrieved from the internet and the whole process should be running in the background, neither of these solutions covers my needs.

  • Traversable => Java Iterator

    - by Andres
I have a Traversable, and I want to make it into a Java Iterator. My problem is that I want everything to be lazily done. If I do .toIterator on the traversable, it eagerly produces the result, copies it into a List, and returns an iterator over the List. I'm sure I'm missing something simple here... Here is a small test case that shows what I mean: class Test extends Traversable[String] { def foreach[U](f : (String) => U) { f("1") f("2") f("3") throw new RuntimeException("Not lazy!") } } val a = new Test val iter = a.toIterator

  • Service-Based Authentication Using Tokens

    - by jerhinesmith
I'm having a tough time trying to find clear and concise examples of how one would implement a service-based authentication scheme using tokens. As far as I can tell, the basic steps are as follows: Client requests username/password from user Client passes username/password to identity provider Provider checks username/password and sends back a token if the user is valid Client does something with the token? The third and fourth step are where I'm getting stuck. I assume the "token" in this case just has to be either an encrypted string that the client can decrypt or some random string that gets stored somewhere (i.e. a database) that the client can then verify against, but I'm not really sure what the client is then supposed to do with the token or why you even need a token at all -- couldn't a simple user ID also suffice?

  • C# Sending cookie in an HttpWebRequest which is redirected

    - by Nir
I'm looking for a way to work with an API which requires login, and then redirects to another URL. The thing is that so far I've only come up with a way to make 2 Http Requests for each action I want to do: first, get cookie with AllowRedirect=false, then get the actual URI and do a second request with the cookie: HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(sUrl); request.AllowAutoRedirect = false; HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); string redirectedUrl = response.Headers["Location"]; if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(redirectedUrl)) { redirectedUrl = "http://www.ApiUrlComesHere.com/" + redirectedUrl; HttpWebRequest authenticatedRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(redirectedUrl); authenticatedRequest.Headers["Cookie"] = response.Headers["Set-Cookie"]; response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); } It seems terribly inefficient. Is there another way? Thanks!

  • Returning S_FALSE from a C# COM dll

    - by AntonyW
I have a method defined in IDL as follows : interface IMyFunc : IDispatch { [id(1), helpstring("method GetNextFunction")] HRESULT GetNextFunction([in,out] long* lPos, [out, retval] BSTR* bstrName); } Using C++ I always implemented this as follows : STDMETHODIMP CMyFunc::GetNextFunction(long *nID, long *lPos, BSTR *bstrName) { if ( function to return ) { // setup return values; return S_OK; } else { // just exit return S_FALSE; } } Now I am implementing this in C# and have used tlbimp on the type library and ended up with : public string GetNextFunction(ref int nID, ref int lPos) I understand that this is because [out, retval] is used as the return type instead of the HRESULT as in C++. Is there a simple way to return the S_OK / S_FALSE values without changing the method definition? The only way I can see is that I have to use ildasm / ilasm to add preservesig so I end up with something like this : public int GetNextFunction(ref int nID, ref int lPos, ref string bstrName) I was wondering if there was some other way without doing the il compilation step.

  • Multiple fields from LINQ to Text Box

    - by Chuki2
how can I pass value from selected field (LINQ) to textbox in winforms? If single fields, I just do like this var result = from row in dtValueBranch.AsEnumerable() where row.Field<int>("branchID") == idBranch select row.Field<string>("branchName"); StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); foreach (string s in result) { sb.Append(s + Environment.NewLine); } tbBranch.Text = sb.ToString(); So this is the code LINQ to many fields var result = from row in dtValueBranch.AsEnumerable() where row.Field<int>("branchID") == idBranch select new { BranchName = row["branchName"].ToString(), branchTel = row["branchTel1"].ToString(), // And many more fields }; How can I to implement each fields to each textbox?

  • Passing arguments to anonymous inner classes

    - by synic
I'm trying to make an API library for our web services, and I'm wondering if it's possible to do something like this: abstract class UserRequest(val userId: Int) { def success(message: String) def error(error: ApiError) } api.invokeRequest(new UserRequest(121) { override def success(message: String) = { // handle success } override def error(error: ApiError) = { // handle the error } } I'm talking about passing parameters to the anonymous inner class, and also overriding the two methods. I'm extremely new to Scala, and I realize my syntax might be completely wrong. I'm just trying to come up with a good design for this library before I start coding it. I'm willing to take suggestions for this, if I'm doing it the completely wrong way, or if there's a better way. The idea is that the API will take some sort of request object, use it to make a request in a thread via http, and when the response has been made, somehow signal back to the caller if the request was a success or an error. The request/error functions have to be executed on the main thread.

  • [PHP] preg_replace: replacing using %

    - by Juan
Hi all, I'm using the function preg_replace but I cannot figure out how to make it work, the function just doesn't seem to work for me. What I'm trying to do is to convert a string into a link if any word contains the % (percentage) character. For instance if I have the string "go to %mysite", I'd like to convert the mysite word into a link. I tried the following... $data = "go to %mysite"; $result = preg_replace('/(^|[\s\.\,\:\;]+)%([A-Za-z0-9]{1,64})/e', '\\1%<a href=#>\\2</a>', $data); ...but it doesn't work. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks Juan

  • Usercontrol databinding within a databound datagridview

    - by user328259
Good day. I'm developing a Windows application and working with Windows Forms; .Net 2.0. I have an issue databinding a generic List of Car Rental Companies to a DataGridView when that list contains (one of its properties) anoother generic List of Car Makes. I also have a UserControl that I need to bind to this [inner] generic list ... Class CarRentalCompany contains: string Name, string Location, List CarMakes Class CarMake contains: string Name, bool isFord, bool isChevy, bool isOther The UserControl has a label for CarMake.Name and 3 checkboxes for each of the booleans of the class. HOw do I make this user control bindable for the class? In my form, I have a DataGridView binded to the CarRentalCompany object. The list CarMakes could be 0 or more items and I can add these as necessary. How do I establish the binding of CarRentalCompanies properly so CarMakes will bind accordingly?? For example, I have: List CarRentalCompanies = new List(); CarRentalCompany company1 = new CarRentalCompany(); company1.Name = "Acme Rentals"; company1.Location = "New York, NY"; company1.CarMakes = new List<CarMake>(); CarMake car1 = new CarMake(); car1.Name = "The Yellow Car"; car1.isFord = true; car1.isChevy = false; car1.isOther = false; company1.CarMakes.Add(car1); CarMake car2 = new CarMake(); car2.Name = "The Blue Car"; car2.isFord = false; car2.isChevy = true; car2.isOther = false; company1.CarMakes.Add(car2); CarMake car3 = new CarMake(); car3.Name = "The Purple Car"; car3.isFord = false; car3.isChevy = false; car3.isOther = true; company1.CarMakes.Add(car3); CarRentalCompanies.Add(company1); CarRentalCompany company2 = new CarRentalCompany(); company1.Name = "Z-Auto Rentals"; company1.Location = "Phoenix, AZ"; company1.CarMakes = new List<CarMake>(); CarMake car4 = new CarMake(); car4.Name = "The OrangeCar"; car4.isFord = true; car4.isChevy = false; car4.isOther = false; company2.CarMakes.Add(car4); CarMake car5 = new CarMake(); car5.Name = "The Red Car"; car5.isFord = true; car5.isChevy = false; car5.isOther = false; company2.CarMakes.Add(car5); CarMake car6 = new CarMake(); car6.Name = "The Green Car"; car6.isFord = true; car6.isChevy = false; car6.isOther = false; company2.CarMakes.Add(car6); CarRentalCompanies.Add(company2); I load my form and in my load form I have the following: Note: CarDataGrid is a DataGridView BindingSource bsTheRentals = new BindingSource(); DataGridViewTextBoxColumn companyName = new DataGridViewTextBoxColumn(); companyName.DataPropertyName = "Name"; companyName.HeaderText = "Company Name"; companyName.Name = "CompanyName"; companyName.AutoSizeMode = DataGridViewAutoSizeColumnMode.AllCells; DataGridViewTextBoxColumn companyLocation = new DataGridViewTextBoxColumn(); companyLocation.DataPropertyName = "Location"; companyLocation.HeaderText = "Company Location"; companyLocation.Name = "CompanyLocation"; companyLocation.AutoSizeMode = DataGridViewAutoSizeColumnMode.AllCells; ArrayList carMakeColumnsToAdd = new ArrayList(); // Loop through the CarMakes list to add each custom column for (int intX=0; intX < CarRentalCompanies.CarMakes[0].Count; intX++) { // Custom column for user control string carMakeColumnName = "carColumn" + intX; CarMakeListColumn carMakeColumn = new DataGridViewComboBoxColumn(); carMakeColumn.Name = carMakeColumnName; carMakeColumn.DisplayMember = CarRentalCompanies.CarMakes[intX].Name; carMakeColumn.DataSource = CarRentalCompanies.CarMakes; // this is the CarMAkes List carMakeColumn.AutoSizeMode = DataGridViewAutoSizeColumnMode.Fill; carMakeColumnsToAdd.Add(carMakeColumn); } CarDataGrid.DataSource = bsTheRentals; CarDataGrid.Columns.AddRange(new DataGridViewColumn[] { companyName, companylocation, carMakeColumnsToAdd }); CarDataGrid.AutoGenerateColumns = false; The code I provided does not work because I am unfamiliar with UserControls and custom DataGridViewColumns and DataGridViewCells - I know I must derive from these classes in order to use my User Control properly. I appreciate any advice/assistance/help in this. Thank you. Lawrence

The string is ISO-8859-1 encoded. How can I make it work in Linux too? Thanks for reading.

  • Linq to SQL Strange SQL Translation

    - by Master Morality
I have a simple query that is generating some odd SQL translations, which is blowing up my code when the object is saturated. from x in DataContext.MyEntities select new { IsTypeCDA = x.EntityType == "CDA" //x.EntityType is a string and EntityType.CDA is a const string... } I would expect this query should translate to: SELECT (CASE WHEN [t0].[EntityType] = @p1 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) as [IsTypeCDA] ... Instead I get this : SELECT (CASE WHEN @p1 = [t0].[EntityType] THEN 1 WHEN NOT (@p1 = [t0].[EntityType]) THEN 0 ELSE NULL END) AS [IsTypeCDA] ... Since I'm saturating a POCO where IsTypeCDA is a bool, it blows up stating I can't assign null to bool. Any thoughts? Edit: fixed the property names so they make sense...

I have added the if condition just to project , what is my needs, m quite sure though that we can not use if and else. Please help if there are any other approach to accomplish this. Thanks, Subhen
