    I am looking into the iPhone in app purchased models and need to implement a subscription. Ex content will be available for 24 hours. Now the most important thing is that it needs to be available on all the other devices, so bought on the iPhone, viewable on the iPad. I'm not sure how this works ? I need to store some information on the developer server but is this the transaction id and current date/time so when launching the app on the iPad, you will attempt to buy the content again. Apple will see that this user already bought that and hopefully returns the transaction ID. At that moment I can verify if the time limit it still valid or not. Can anyone confirm this method off working? If this is correct is there a 'renew'?

  • Why is only the suffix of work_index hashed?

    I'm reading through the PDF that Brett Slatkin has published for Google I/O 2010: "Data pipelines with Google App Engine": http://tinyurl.com/3523mej In the video (the Fan-in part) Brett says that the work_index has to be a hash, so that 'you distribute the load across the BigTable': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSDC_TU7rtc#t=48m44 ...and this is how work_index is created: work_index = '%s-%d' % (sum_name, knuth_hash(index)) ...which I guess creates something like 'mySum-54657651321987' I do understand the basic idea, but is why only one half of work_index is hashed? Is it important to hash only part of it leaving the suffix out? Would it be wrong to do md5('%s-%d' % (sum_name, index)) so that the hash would be like '6gw8....hq6' ? I'm Java guy so I would use md5 to hash, which means I get id like 'mySum' + 32 characters. (Obviously I want my ids/keys to be as short as possible here.) If I could hash the whole string my id would be just 32 chars. Or would you suggest to use something else to do the hashing with?

But unfortunately, there's still the primary index which seems to kick in and always inserts a new row.   • flex List Size not updating when itemRenderer resizes itself

    I've got a list with a custom itemRenderer that's just a rectangle of specific size. The list <s:List id="thelist" width="100%" dataProvider="{thelistdata}" itemRenderer="ListItem" borderVisible="true" /> Note the list's border is visible to help with debugging The itemRenderer <s:Rect id="box" width="50" height="50"> <s:fill> <s:SolidColor color="blue"/> </s:fill> </s:Rect> When the itemRenderer receives an event, it changes its size to half box.width = 25; box.height = 25; I see the itemRenderers are resizing themselves correctly, but the list itself stays the same size and the border stays where it is. Anyone knows how to fix this bug. Basically the list should refresh its size too to fit the smaller boxes.

  • NerdDinner difficulties

    Hello guys, I'm having a problem with the Create method of the NerdDinner tutorial, which is very good BTW. As you can see here http://nerddinnerbook.s3.amazonaws.com/Part5.htm in the Create method, he removed the ID field of the aspx page. I did that too, but I cannot add any dinners because I get a primary key violation. How is NerdDinner controlling the ids of each dinner? I revised the tutorial and could not see any references to identity fields on SQL database. I even created a method to get me the highest id in the table: public int GetHighestDinnerId() { int resultado = (from dinner in dataContext.Dinners select dinner.DinnerId).Max(); return resultado; } which does not work either. When I excute this in ruby, in result set the sent_date is stores as (Tue Apr 20 00:00:00 UTC 2010) messages = Message.find_by_sql(sql) puts messages[0]['sent_date'] puts statement prints "Tue Apr 20 00:00:00 UTC 2010" how to get same date format in mysql result and ruby result set. I have a progress bar: <mx:ProgressBar id="appProgress" mode="manual" width="300" label="{appProgressMsg}" minimum="0" maximum="100"/> I have two listener functions, one sets the progress, and one sets the appProgressMsg: public function incProgress(e:TEvent):void { var p:uint = Math.floor(e.data.number / e.data.total * 100); trace("Setting Perc." + p); appProgress.setProgress(p, 100); } public function setApplicationProgressStep(e:TEvent):void { trace("Setting step:" + e.data); appProgressMsg = e.data; } I want to reuse this progress bar alot. And not necessarily for ProgressEvents, but when going through steps. Setting step:Updating project Setting Perc 25 Setting Perc 50 Setting Perc 75 Setting Perc 100 The issue is, only the very last percent and step is shown. that is, when it's all done, the progress bar jumps to 100% and shows the last step label.     Hi, I have a iFrame which i load into jquery dialog. I want to focus an element inside the iFrame whenever the Jquery Dialog is being opened.     Hi I have a Spring web application, I have built it up to the controller stage and I could inject my Daos, into my Services fine. Now when I want to inject my Service into my controller i get an error for dependency with the Dao and further down the sessionFactory. I don't want to inject these again cause this will ultimately lead me to eventually create a data source but I have my Daos for data access and they already know about sessionFactory.   • Twitter + OAuth Problem -- Cancel Button

    Hi everyone, I'm implementing OAuth to post on Twitter... which works perfectly. My issue is for those who entered the Twitter login area by accident and want to press the "Cancel" button. Unfortunately, the "Cancel" button is dismissed but then immediately reappears. Here is the code for the "Cancel" button: - (void)cancel:(id)sender { if ([_delegate respondsToSelector: @selector(OAuthTwitterControllerCanceled:)]) [_delegate OAuthTwitterControllerCanceled: self]; [self performSelector: @selector(dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:) withObject: (id) kCFBooleanTrue afterDelay: 0.0]; } I think what I need to do is put the right code in the viewDidDisappear area... the problem is I don't know what code to put in.
