  • Duplex Contract GetCallbackChannel always returns a null-instance

    - by Yaroslav
    Hi! Here is the server code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.ServiceModel; using System.Runtime.Serialization; using System.ServiceModel.Description; namespace Console_Chat { [ServiceContract(SessionMode = SessionMode.Required, CallbackContract = typeof(IMyCallbackContract))] public interface IMyService { [OperationContract(IsOneWay = true)] void NewMessageToServer(string msg); [OperationContract(IsOneWay = false)] bool ServerIsResponsible(); } [ServiceContract] public interface IMyCallbackContract { [OperationContract(IsOneWay = true)] void NewMessageToClient(string msg); [OperationContract(IsOneWay = true)] void ClientIsResponsible(); } [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.PerSession)] public class MyService : IMyService { public IMyCallbackContract callback = null; /* { get { return OperationContext.Current.GetCallbackChannel<IMyCallbackContract>(); } } */ public MyService() { callback = OperationContext.Current.GetCallbackChannel<IMyCallbackContract>(); } public void NewMessageToServer(string msg) { Console.WriteLine(msg); } public void NewMessageToClient( string msg) { callback.NewMessageToClient(msg); } public bool ServerIsResponsible() { return true; } } class Server { static void Main(string[] args) { String msg = "none"; ServiceMetadataBehavior behavior = new ServiceMetadataBehavior(); ServiceHost serviceHost = new ServiceHost( typeof(MyService), new Uri("http://localhost:8080/")); serviceHost.Description.Behaviors.Add(behavior); serviceHost.AddServiceEndpoint( typeof(IMetadataExchange), MetadataExchangeBindings.CreateMexHttpBinding(), "mex"); serviceHost.AddServiceEndpoint( typeof(IMyService), new WSDualHttpBinding(), "ServiceEndpoint" ); serviceHost.Open(); Console.WriteLine("Server is up and running"); MyService server = new MyService(); server.NewMessageToClient("Hey client!"); /* do { msg = Console.ReadLine(); // callback.NewMessageToClient(msg); } while (msg != "ex"); */ Console.ReadLine(); } } } Here is the client's: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.ServiceModel; using System.Runtime.Serialization; using System.ServiceModel.Description; using Console_Chat_Client.MyHTTPServiceReference; namespace Console_Chat_Client { [ServiceContract(SessionMode = SessionMode.Required, CallbackContract = typeof(IMyCallbackContract))] public interface IMyService { [OperationContract(IsOneWay = true)] void NewMessageToServer(string msg); [OperationContract(IsOneWay = false)] bool ServerIsResponsible(); } [ServiceContract] public interface IMyCallbackContract { [OperationContract(IsOneWay = true)] void NewMessageToClient(string msg); [OperationContract(IsOneWay = true)] void ClientIsResponsible(); } public class MyCallback : Console_Chat_Client.MyHTTPServiceReference.IMyServiceCallback { static InstanceContext ctx = new InstanceContext(new MyCallback()); static MyServiceClient client = new MyServiceClient(ctx); public void NewMessageToClient(string msg) { Console.WriteLine(msg); } public void ClientIsResponsible() { } class Client { static void Main(string[] args) { String msg = "none"; client.NewMessageToServer(String.Format("Hello server!")); do { msg = Console.ReadLine(); if (msg != "ex") client.NewMessageToServer(msg); else client.NewMessageToServer(String.Format("Client terminated")); } while (msg != "ex"); } } } } callback = OperationContext.Current.GetCallbackChannel(); This line constanly throws a NullReferenceException, what's the problem? Thanks!

  • LazyList<T> vs System.Lazy<List<T>> in ASP.NET MVC 2?

    - by FreshCode
    In Rob Conery's Storefront series, Rob makes extensive use of the LazyList<..> construct to pull data from IQueryables. How does this differ from the System.Lazy<...> construct now available in .NET 4.0 (and perhaps earlier)? More depth based on DoctaJones' great answer: Would you recommend one over the other if I wanted to operate on IQueryable as a List<T>? I'm assuming that since Lazy<T> is in the framework now, it is a safer bet for future support and maintainability? If I want to use a strong type instead of an anonymous (var) type would the following statements be functionally equivalent? Lazy<List<Products>> Products = new Lazy<List<Product>>(); LazyList<Product> = new LazyList<Product>();

  • Unable to get ncName and netBIOSName Properties

    - by Randz
    I've some code on the net regarding retrieval of NetBIOSName (Pre-windows 2000 domain name) of an Active Directory Domain. Here's my code sample: Me._rootDSE = New System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry("GC://RootDSE", "", "") Dim results As System.DirectoryServices.SearchResultCollection = Nothing Dim ADSPath As String = "GC://CN=Partitions," + Me._rootDSE.Properties("configurationNamingContext").Value.ToString() Dim adse As System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry = New System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry(ADSPath, "", "") Dim searcher As System.DirectoryServices.DirectorySearcher searcher = New System.DirectoryServices.DirectorySearcher(adse) searcher.SearchScope = DirectoryServices.SearchScope.OneLevel searcher.Filter = "(&(objectClass=crossRef)(systemflags=3))" searcher.PropertiesToLoad.Add("netbiosname") searcher.PropertiesToLoad.Add("ncname") results = searcher.FindAll() If results.Count > 0 Then For Each sr As System.DirectoryServices.SearchResult In results Dim de As System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry = sr.GetDirectoryEntry() 'netbiosname and ncname properties returns nothing System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine(sr.GetDirectoryEntry().Properties("netbiosname").Value.ToString()) System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine(sr.GetDirectoryEntry().Properties("ncname").Value.ToString()) Next End If When I am using the "(&(objectClass=crossRef)(systemFlags=3))" filter, I am not getting any result, but when I removed the systemFlags filter, I get some results. However, on the search results that I got, I still cannot access the values of ncName and NetBIOSName properties. I can get other properties like distinguishedName and CN of the search result properly. Any idea on what I might be doing wrong, or where to look further?

  • Cannot find symbol - variable

    - by Ben Garside
    I'm new to Java, and I'm trying to get user input, store each line of input as a variable and then return each value so that it can be passed on somewhere else. When I try and compile it is telling me that it can't find the variable magnitude. I'm assuming it won't find the others either. I'm guessing that this is because I've declare the variables inside of the "try" but don't know how to get it so that the return statement accepts them. Code is as follows: public Earthquake userAddEarthquake() { Scanner scanner = new Scanner(System.in); try{ // convert the string read from the scanner into Integer type System.out.println("Please Enter An Earthquake Magnitude: "); Double magnitude = Double.parseDouble(scanner.nextLine()); System.out.println("Please Enter The Earthquakes Latitude Position: "); scanner = new Scanner(System.in); Double positionLatitude = Double.parseDouble(scanner.nextLine()); System.out.print("Please Enter The Earthquakes Longitude Position: "); scanner = new Scanner(System.in); Double positionLongitude = Double.parseDouble(scanner.nextLine()); System.out.print("Please Enter The Year That The Earthquake Occured: "); scanner = new Scanner(System.in); int year = Integer.parseInt(scanner.nextLine()); System.out.println("Magnitude = " + magnitude); } catch(NumberFormatException ne){ System.out.println("Invalid Input"); } finally{ scanner.close(); } return new Earthquake(magnitude, positionLatitude, positionLongitude, year); }

  • Built local glibc, broke system, how do I ssh without parsing the .bashrc?

    - by Mikhail
    The cluster I am on had really old build tools and I needed to use CUDA5. I'm a pretty clever dude and I planned on building the necissary tools. So, I built a local copy of gcc, bintools, and glibc. Everything a CUDA5 could want. All builds finished without error. and I tested gcc and bintools. Everything was wonderful and I built and ran a few of the programs. I set up the LD_LIBRARY_PATHs in the .bashrc and logged back in, expecting a productive night ahead. To my horror I realized that everything is dynamically linked. Now I can't do simple commands like ls [ex@uid377 ~]$ ls ls: error while loading shared libraries: __vdso_time: invalid mode for dlopen(): Invalid argument and I can't do commands to fix the problem like rm or vim! Is there a way for me to ssh but also to ignore .bashrc file? Any suggestions are much appreciated. This machine is obviously under maintained and I don't know when I could have administrator support.

  • Newbie question about controllers in ASP.Net MVC.

    - by Sergio Tapia
    I'm following a tutorial on creating the NerdDinner using ASP.Net MVC. However, I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate edition and there was only MVC2 to choose from. So I've following the tutorial so far, and everything is really clicking and being really well explained, until this little hitch. The guide is asking me to create new methods on a Controller file like so: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.Mvc; namespace NerdDinner.Controllers { public class DinnersController : Controller { public void Index(){ Response.Write("<h1>Coming Soon: Dinners</h1>"); } public void Details(int id) { Response.Write("<h1>Details DinnerID: " + id + "</h1>"); } } } However, when I created the Controllers file, Visual Studio created an Index method already, but it looks vastly different to what the tutorial shows. Maybe this is the new way to do things using MVC2? using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.Mvc; namespace NerdDinner.Controllers { public class DinnersController : Controller { // // GET: /Dinners/ public ActionResult Index() { return View(); } } } My question is, how can I reproduce the Details and Index method (they're in MVC) to the MVC2 way? Is this even relevant? Thank you!

  • How can I obtain raw data from a CVImageBuffer object.

    - by jslap
    Hi, I'm trying to use cocoa to grab images from a webcam. I'm able to get the image in RGBA format using the QTKit and the didOutputVideoFrame delegate call, and converting the CVImageBuffer to a CIImage and then to a NSBitmapImageRep. I know my camera grabs natively in YUV, what I want is to get the YUV data directly from the CVImageBuffer, and proccess the YUV frame before displaying it. My question is: How can I get the YUV data from the CVImageBuffer? thanks.

  • how can I future-proof migration of a ADO.net local data layer to a future web based interface (web-

    - by Greg
    Hi, BACKGROUND: I am working on a .NET WinForms application now (C#) with an ADO.net database for the data layer. QUESTION: How an I develop this now such that it would be easy to migrate to a model where the data layer is abstracted via a HTTP web-service or REST interface? For example would just use of a standard C# interface with a Factory to obtain a concrete implementation of the interface where this uses ADO.net be the best? thanks

  • How do I install the evaluation version of Windows Server 2012R2 VHD within a Windows Server 2008R2 Hyper-V system?

    - by Paul Hale
    I have a windows server 2008R2 running hyper-v. I have downloaded the Windows Server 2012RC DC Version from here... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dn205286.aspx I am "forced" to install a download app that copy's a .vhd file to my chosen directory. The instructions on this page... http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn303418.aspx say... To install the VHD Download the VHD file. Start Hyper-V Manager. On the Action menu, select Import Virtual Machine. Navigate to the directory that the virtual machine file was extracted to and select the directory (not the directory where the VHD file is located). Select the Copy the virtual machine option. Confirm that the import was successful by checking Hyper-V Manager. Configure the network adapter for the resulting virtual machine: right-click the virtual machine and select Settings. In the left pane, click Network Adapter. In the menu that appears, select one of the network adapters of the virtualization server, and then click OK. Start the virtual machine. Where it says "Navigate to the directory that the virtual machine file was extracted to and select the directory (not the directory where the VHD file is located). Select the Copy the virtual machine option." Well nothing has been extracted as far as I can tell? and if it has, I have no idea where or what im looking for? I tried creating a new VM and using the downloaded .vhd file but I got an error saying that the .vhd file is an incompatible format. Can anybody help me out please? Thanks, Paul

  • Top 3 reasons not to develop a "blog system" that generates aspx files on the fly.

    - by klausbyskov
    In this question the OP implies that he wants to base the blog system he is developing on automatic creation of .aspx files, one for each new blog entry. In my answer to his question (which is related to something else), I told him that I would discourage him from using such an approach, but without giving any real reasons. He is now wanting reasons why it is not a good idea, and I'm using this question to see if the community can come up with a compelling enough list of reasons for him to use another approach, such as one using a dbms, code-reuse, url-rewriting, MVC, and what not.

  • Monitoring / metric collection for system collectives that change a lot in time (a.k.a. cloud)

    - by Florin Andrei
    When your server fleet doesn't change a lot in time, like when you're using bare-metal hosting, classic monitoring and metric collection solutions (Nagios, Munin) work well. But if the number of systems varies a lot in time, and may in fact vary rapidly, classic software is more difficult to setup and use. E.g., trying to make Nagios (monitoring) keep up with a rapidly evolving cloud infrastructure can be cumbersome. Same for Munin (metric collection). It's not just the configuration, but the way the information is conveyed to the user, or displayed, is inadequate for the cloud. What are some possible alternatives that work well with the cloud? The goals are to collect and display metrics (analog to Munin), and generate alerts when certain metrics go out of bounds or when certain services are unavailable (analog to Nagios), and do everything in a cloud-friendly manner. Some cloud providers offer monitoring / metric collection as services, but not always, and if you use more than one provider you don't want to become too dependent of just one vendor. So provider-independent solutions are required. EDIT: I am asking this question in a general fashion - not limited to any given cloud infrastructure (like OpenStack), but in the general case of using arbitrary cloud providers.

    I am creating a voting system for a Q&A site project in which if a user asks a question, he/she losses -5 points; answer a question +5, vote a question +1, etc. (kind of like SO and yahoo answers) --To create the basic arithmetic, I have a "users_points" table that relates the user_id and their total points. +---+---------+ | 1 | 100 | +---+---------+ | 2 | 54 | +---+---------+ --Basically if the users does certain task, it would + or - the points. How do I prevent users from say voting an answer up 100 times. ex: I want a user to be only able to vote once per question, etc.

  • Accessing array values in jQuery ajax callback function

    - by gibberish
    Values are received through a jQuery AJAX callback, but I've been unsuccessful getting at the values. Here's the ajax call: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "ajax/ax_all_ajax_fns.php", data: 'request=edit_timecard_entry&staff_id='+staff_id+'&tid='+tid, success: function(data){ alert(data); } } Here's the code sent out by ax_all_ajax_fns.php: $staff_id = $_POST['staff_id']; $t_id = $_POST['tid']; $rCard = mysql_query("SELECT `staff_id`, `date`, `project_id`, `project_num`, `task_desc`, `hours` FROM `timecards` WHERE `t_id`='$t_id'"); $aCard = mysql_fetch_assoc($rCard); print_r($aCard); // echo $aCard; Of course, I don't want the information print_r'd, I want it echoed. The print_r was used to demonstrate that the correct data was sent out by the PHP script, and it is echoed successfully in the alert() box in the success function. So the correct data is being returned, and (if correctly formatted) it is viewable. The data returned in this way looks like this in the alert() popup: Array ( [staff_id] => 51 [date] => 2012-10-18 [project_id] => 0 [project_num => 49 [task_desk] => This is a task [hours] => 3.30 ) But when I use echo to output the $aCard array and then try to break it down inside the success function of the ajax call, I can't figure out how to get at the values. My attempts have consistently returned values of "undefined". In the success function, in place of alert(data);, I've tried this: var tce_staff_id = data['staff_id']; alert(tce_staff_id); and this: var tce_staff_id = data.staff_id; alert(tce_staff_id); What am I missing? UPDATE: Thanks to Martin S. for information re json_encode() PHP instruction. I've modified the ajax script as follows: echo json_encode($aCard); I now get THIS result from alert(data); in the success function: {"staff_id":"51","date":"2012-10-18","project_id":"0","project_num":"49","task_desc":"This is a task","hours":"3.30"} However, the following returns "undefined": alert(data.staff_id); alert(data[0].staff_id); var test = data.staff_id; alert(test); Can anyone see what I'm missing? All above code comes immediately after alert(data) inside the success callback of the ajax function. alert(data) DOES work and displays the desired data, as above.

  • In Zabbix how to zero data when it doesn't comes?

    If a variable is expected to be fetched every minute, and it doesn't happen, the graph shows the last known value for all the timespan until the next known value. The expected behavior for me is that the graph showed no line, or a line next to the zero, where there is no data. How to achieve this with Zabbix?

  • Any suggestions on data syncronization from a server to a desktop?

    - by Jamey McElveen
    I have a web based CRM system that stores all the client data from all the clients into one database (MS Sql Server). We need to build a system that maintains a local copy of the data for each client. So basically the client database will have all tables and columns except for the ClientId that is in ever server table. I am aware that I will need to add fields to the server to support synchronization. Are there any good solutions or components already out there to help me accomplish this? We are using MS Sql Server and .NET C#

  • How to translate legacy system (OLE) colors to (A)RGB?

    - by Paul Sasik
    I have a list of color values encoded as signed integers (OLE I think) in a legacy INI file that I need to translate into (A)RGB values with .NET. An INI example: [INI_Section] Color=-2147483633 Doing something like: Color.FromArgb(-2147483633) gives an alpha-blended version of a color that is not at all what I expect. I think that a value like -2147483633 is supposed to represent a system-defined, or named color like ButtonFace. Is there a .NET method for translating these legacy colors properly? Note that pInvoke to OlePro32.dll is not an option.

  • How do I convert a System.Type to its nullable version?

    - by AlexDuggleby
    Once again one of those: "Is there an easier built-in way of doing things instead of my helper method?" So it's easy to get the underlying type from a nullable type, but how do I get the nullable version of a .NET type? So I have typeof(int) typeof(DateTime) System.Type t = something; and I want int? DateTime? or Nullable<int> (which is the same) if t is primitive then Nullable<T> else just T Any suggestions? (Is there something built in.) Thanks in advance.

  • SQL Server 2008 Filestream Impersonation Access Denied error

    I've been trying to upload a file to the database using SQL SERVER 2008 Filestream and Impersonation technique to save the file in the file system, but i keep getting Access Denied error; even though i've set the permissions for the impersonating user to the Filestream folder(C:\SQLFILESTREAM\Dev_DB). when i debugged the code, i found the server return a unc path(\Server_Name\MSSQLSERVER\v1\Dev_LMDB\dbo\FileData\File_Data\13C39AB1-8B91-4F5A-81A1-940B58504C17), which was not accessible through windows explorer. I've my web application hosted on local maching(Windows 7). SQL Server is located on a remote server(Windows Server 2008 R2). Sql authentication was used to call the stored procedure. Following is the code i've used to do the above operations. SqlCommand sqlCmd = new SqlCommand("AddFile"); sqlCmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; sqlCmd.Parameters.Add("@File_Name", SqlDbType.VarChar, 512).Value = filename; sqlCmd.Parameters.Add("@File_Type", SqlDbType.VarChar, 5).Value = Path.GetExtension(filename); sqlCmd.Parameters.Add("@Username", SqlDbType.VarChar, 20).Value = username; sqlCmd.Parameters.Add("@Output_File_Path", SqlDbType.VarChar, -1).Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; DAManager PDAM = new DAManager(DAManager.getConnectionString()); using (SqlConnection connection = (SqlConnection)PDAM.CreateConnection()) { connection.Open(); SqlTransaction transaction = connection.BeginTransaction(); WindowsImpersonationContext wImpersonationCtx; NetworkSecurity ns = null; try { PDAM.ExecuteNonQuery(sqlCmd, transaction); string filepath = sqlCmd.Parameters["@Output_File_Path"].Value.ToString(); sqlCmd = new SqlCommand("SELECT GET_FILESTREAM_TRANSACTION_CONTEXT()"); sqlCmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; byte[] Context = (byte[])PDAM.ExecuteScalar(sqlCmd, transaction); byte[] buffer = new byte[4096]; int bytedRead; ns = new NetworkSecurity(); wImpersonationCtx = ns.ImpersonateUser(IMP_Domain, IMP_Username, IMP_Password, LogonType.LOGON32_LOGON_INTERACTIVE, LogonProvider.LOGON32_PROVIDER_DEFAULT); SqlFileStream sfs = new SqlFileStream(filepath, Context, System.IO.FileAccess.Write); while ((bytedRead = inFS.Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length)) != 0) { sfs.Write(buffer, 0, bytedRead); } sfs.Close(); transaction.Commit(); } catch (Exception ex) { transaction.Rollback(); } finally { sqlCmd.Dispose(); connection.Close(); connection.Dispose(); ns.undoImpersonation(); wImpersonationCtx = null; ns = null; } } Can someone help me with this issue. • Asp.net Crawler Webresponse Operation Timed out.

    - by Leon
    Hi I have built a simple threadpool based web crawler within my web application. Its job is to crawl its own application space and build a Lucene index of every valid web page and their meta content. Here's the problem. When I run the crawler from a debug server instance of Visual Studio Express, and provide the starting instance as the IIS url, it works fine. However, when I do not provide the IIS instance and it takes its own url to start the crawl process(ie. crawling its own domain space), I get hit by operation timed out exception on the Webresponse statement. Could someone please guide me into what I should or should not be doing here? Here is my code for fetching the page. It is executed in the multithreaded environment. private static string GetWebText(string url) { string htmlText = ""; HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create(url); request.UserAgent = "My Crawler"; using (WebResponse response = request.GetResponse()) { using (Stream stream = response.GetResponseStream()) { using (StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(stream)) { htmlText = reader.ReadToEnd(); } } } return htmlText; } And the following is my stacktrace: at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at CSharpCrawler.Crawler.GetWebText(String url) in c:\myAppDev\myApp\site\App_Code\CrawlerLibs\Crawler.cs:line 366 at CSharpCrawler.Crawler.CrawlPage(String url, List1 threadCityList) in c:\myAppDev\myApp\site\App_Code\CrawlerLibs\Crawler.cs:line 105 at CSharpCrawler.Crawler.CrawlSiteBuildIndex(String hostUrl, String urlToBeginSearchFrom, List1 threadCityList) in c:\myAppDev\myApp\site\App_Code\CrawlerLibs\Crawler.cs:line 89 at crawler_Default.threadedCrawlSiteBuildIndex(Object threadedCrawlerObj) in c:\myAppDev\myApp\site\crawler\Default.aspx.cs:line 108 at System.Threading.QueueUserWorkItemCallback.WaitCallback_Context(Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.runTryCode(Object userData) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.RuntimeHelpers.ExecuteCodeWithGuaranteedCleanup(TryCode code, CleanupCode backoutCode, Object userData) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean ignoreSyncCtx) at System.Threading.QueueUserWorkItemCallback.System.Threading.IThreadPoolWorkItem.ExecuteWorkItem() at System.Threading.ThreadPoolWorkQueue.Dispatch() at System.Threading._ThreadPoolWaitCallback.PerformWaitCallback() Thanks and cheers, Leon.
