  • Thinkpad Bluetooth turns itself on upon restart/hibernate

    I have a T400 with Windows 7 64bit. About 3 weeks ago, the Lenovo update pushed a Bluetooth update that added a 2.1 driver and device experience. Since then, my bluetooth turns itself on whenever the OS comes up (full restarts as well as waking from hibernation). I can turn it of using the <Fn>+<F5> Radio menu, but it just turns itself on again the next time. If I forget to turn it off, it just eats my battery that much faster.I've been scouring the web and couldn't find similar occurrences. Is this a hardware issue, a BIOS issue (although no reference to BT in any of the BIOS menus), a driver issue or (shudder) a user issue? Thanks for your help.

  • Lost USB BlueTooth Dongle for Keyboard and Mouse

    I lost my USB bluetooth dongle (from HP) which I used for a wireless keyboard and mouse. They came together in a set when I bought my last HP computer. Are the keyboard and mouse useless now? or will any bluetooth dongle allow them to work? If I can just buy a new one - any recommendations on a replacement (good price, and perhaps works with Windows and Ubuntu out-of-the-box? Forgive me if this is an easy question. I'm just not that familiar with wireless mice/keyboards.

  • Logitech bluetooth audio receiver quality

    I bought a Logitech Bluetooth Audio receiver, and have run into a problem: When playing audio, it contains short hisses/clicks on higher tones or vocal+heavy instrumental music (Sound quality appears to be unclean). I'm not sure what could be the reason, but this only happens when I play from certain devices. My laptops (a Dell XPS Win7, and an Asus Eee seashell Win7) and my phone (Samsung Player 5) both have the problem. However, when I tried using a Samsung S2 phone, the audio was crystal clear. Seems that this could be something with Bluetooth transiting device.. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

  • Auto-connect Bluetooth headphones in Windows 7 64bit

    I have a pair of bluetooth headphones that I've successfully paired with my Windows 7 64bit machine and audio plays through them without a hitch. On the Device Stage under the properties of the headphones in troubleshooting it shows "last connected" as "currently connected" even if I power cycle the headphones or after a reboot of my computer. So the Windows bluetooth stack has no trouble finding them. The problem I have is that whenever the headphones reconnect to my pc they show up as disconnected in the Sound Settings and no sound is routed to them until I manually connect them. I have to go into Sound Settings, then from the Playback tab right click on the headphones and choose the Connect option. Is there a way to make the Sound Settings connect automatically whenever the headphones are available to Windows?

    computer: Samsung All in One PC OS: Windows 7 (up-to-date) BT Radio: Broadcom I have Bluetooth speakers I have successfully used with the system in the past. In fact, I had them set as default speakers so audio would transfer when I turned them on. No longer. Now, they show as 'disconnected'. Asking for connection gives no response. Option to set as default is greyed out. Bluetooth view utility gives an error of 10049 when I try to connect (supposedly, the means an invalid device address). I uninstalled the device and re-installed. No help. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

  • Bluetooth problem, can't send any file. Access Denied (13)

    well, i am new on ubuntu, and here is the first problem: I can't send any files to my phone by bluetooth, it just not connecting the devices. "Saying Access Denied (13)". Although both devices can see each other and they are even pared. What it can be? I'm using HTC Desire as a phone and Sony VAIO laptop with ubuntu 11.10, if it could help. Really don't know what to do and where can i configure my bluetooth setting.

  • Windows 7 Desktop as Bluetooth Mixer

    I would like to stream all the audio from my Droid X2 to my desktop running Windows 7 via bluetooth. When I pair the two devices I can make this work but the audio plays through the internal speakers. I am actually wanting to listen to everything through a pair of bluetooth headphones. The end result would be that I could listen to music from my phone but easily pause it to listen to audio from the desktop instead. So far I have not had any luck. I thought about connecting the line out to the line in so I could monitor the line in from my headphones. My current setup is wiring the phone to the line in and then monitoring the line in through the headphones. I'm just wanting to eliminate the wire and go wireless the whole way. Is there something in Windows that prevents it from taking an inbound audio stream and sending it out another device?

    I need to connect to a Bluetooth device through virtual COM port created in Windows. It's easy when the port has been already created during manual pairing procedure. But I would like my application to relieve an user from the manual pairing of a device. I would like to present all devices in the range, allow user to chose one, and then create virtual COM port connected with the selected device. I'm not trying to avoid the pairing procedure itself, but rather I would like to invoke it by my application. I started getting familiar with Microsoft Bluetooth API. And then some doubts arose. I've been wondering what happen if some user would use different (than Microsoft's) Bluetooth stack? Is the Microsoft's API the real Bluetooth API, which have to be implemented by any other Bluetooth stack provider? Or rather each provider has its own API, and the Microsoft's is only one of many other?

  • Two part question about submitting bluetooth-enabled apps for the iPhone

    I have a couple questions about submitting blue-tooth enabled apps on the iPhone. I want to first say that bluetooth is merely an option in the application. The application does not completely rely on bluetooth as there are many modes the user can go in. First, do they require you to have the "peer-peer" key set in UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities even if bluetooth interface options can be disabled or hidden for non-bluetooth enabled devices? Basically, it's just an OPTION in the game and there are many other modes the player can play.. Does Apple not allow you to do that? I'm just curious, because it seems like something they would do. Adding to that, how do you check for it's functionality at runtime? In essence, how do you check UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities at runtime. I'm aware of checking iPhone device types, so would that be a proper way of going about it? I'm also sort of unaware which devices can run bluetooth gamekit, there doesn't seem to be a proper reference at the SDK site, or I'm unable to find it. Thanks for reading! [edit] I can confirm the existance of somebody rejected for submitting a bluetooth enabled app which didn't work on a iPhone 2G.. Of course, they didn't say if that was the MAIN function of the app, though.

  • How do I get Graphics drivers / bluetooth / card reader working on an Acer Aspire V3-571G?

    A couple of days ago I bought an Acer Aspire V3-571G laptop without a system installed on it. The only thing that was there was Linux Linpus. I created a bootable CD with Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit - I read that my processor was 64 bit and that it might be a good configuration for my gear (I'm not especially fluent with all the computer stuff, still trying to learn) and replaced Linpus with Ubuntu. Everything seemed to work fine, but there're few exceptions to that which came pass my way. My bluetooth doesn't work. It seems to be switched on, but when I check my system settings the button is actually off, and I can't drag it 'perminently' to the 'on' position. Tried a couple of commands I found on the net, none of them helped and there was no word whatsoever in my BIOS settings about enabling bluetooth. My card reader has some serious problems with copying more than one file at a time. I tried to put some music on my phone through a MicroSD card adapter (because my bluetooth doesn't work) and it got stuck every single time I copied an album on it.   • Oneric Aspire One. After latest 11.10 update to Linux 3.0.0-9 boot hangs at staement "Starting Bluetooth"

    I have today updated the version of Linux on Ubuntu on my Acer Aspire One. The boot hangs on the statement "Starting Bluetooth". Help please!! EDIT1: I get the grub menu when I start the netbook and it doesn´t matter which version of linux I choose the resulkt is the same. It gets as far as the Ubuntu spash screen then drops into command line mode then hangs on the line "Starting Bluetooth". I can log in and have tried various forms of the apt-get command to fix the system but with no result. I do not need bluetooth at the moment and so could remove the application if I knew how. (have tried apt-get remove bluez). When I use the command sudo apt-get -f install I get an error message saying "There's not enough space in /var/lib/mysql/" folowed by several other error messages. I have spent some time looking for similar problems and solutions using google but so far got to nothing to help. Thanks EDIT2: I have since discovered when running Knoppix or slitaz from a usb stick that the file managers report the hard disc as having no space. However GPARTED reports it as having 3.69gb. I do recall making space on the hard drive by deleting some old files and emptying trash whilst the update was running; perhaps its related. Any suggestions for how I can recover the apparently lost space from hard disc without losing the data. I have backups of the actual data but do not wnat to lose the applcations configuration.   • How can I uninstall Broadcom Bluetooth software that won't disappear in Windows XP?

    My situation is similar to this question for Windows 7, except my OS is Windows XP SP3. I have recently realized I made the mistake of buying a Bluetooth adapter and installing the Broadcom/Widcomm Bluetooth stack driver software. Now that I know that the software is no good, I want to uninstall it. Then I'll install the Toshiba stack for the Cirago adapter. Right now, when I double-click on the setup.exe file that came with the Cirago driver, nothing happens (it doesn't start setup). I've attempted to uninstall all Bluetooth driver software in Device Manager, and I don't see any remnants of any Bluetooth drivers there. But I do see that the little Bluetooth icon still persists: I don't see anything about Bluetooth, Broadcom, or Widcomm in Add/Remove Programs. I don't see any folder names Broadcom or Widcomm in Program Files folder, either. But I do see that Broadcom does show up in the registry with respect to Bluetooth, as shown here. I also renamed every file in C:\Windows\inf that starts with "bth" so that it ends with ".old". What should I do now to completely wipe this persistent Broadcom Bluetooth software off my computer?

    I've got a HP Compaq nx6320 & I just installed the HP bluetooth drivers (WinXP) and I'm trying to pair my Samsung Windows Mobile phone with it, but when I do, the phone asks me to enter the passcode for the computer, but I never set one in the install process & I've got no idea how to set it now. Does anyone know where this option is?

The problem is that the software that came with the bluetooth dongle (Bluesoleil 5) is fairly old and isn't compatible Windows 7. Bluesoleil 6 is very expensive - is there something else I can do or use to get my headset working?

  • Sending output to both bluetooth headset and normal speakers - Windows 7

    Hey, I have a bluetooth "headset" (it's more like a speaker with a microphone on it, but it registers as a headset) and I want to play music through it. I also want to play the same music through the "normal" speakers on the laptop. Is this possible? If so, is it possible to play two different streams on each speaker? Say if I wanted to DJ a party or something, I'd want to hear the upcoming song and mix it before sending it live.
