  • Mouse pointer size problem

    My mouse cursor is double the normal size. Its only the default pointer that is enlarged. Variations like resize, busy and so on are the correct size. The problem persists even when I change cursor theme. If I move the cursor inside a Firefox window it changes to the correct size. My resolution is 2560x1440, its a single screen setup. Nvidia-settings reports my DPI to be: 108x107. I've tired to force that DPI in the LightDM conf, since I figured it must have something to-do with the DPI calculation. I have tried to change the cursor size through dconf but the problem still remains. I haven't seen this problem before, it arrived after the upgrade from Beta 2 to release version of Ubuntu 11.10. Anybody got any idea what the problem might be, its pretty annoying with the huge cursor.

  • When using Zoom, cursor disappears

    In Ubuntu 12.04 Unity, when I use the Compiz Zoom feature, the mouse cursor disappears. This did not happen in 10.04, it worked great until I installed 12.04. In 12.04 zoom was disabled by default, so I re-enabled it to use Super+scroll wheel as it was before. The only thing different now is that the shortcut listing appears while zooming, zooming is not as smooth, and I have no mouse cursor. How can I get the cursor to remain visible while zoomed in?

  • Custom field not showing in Custom Content Type

    Hi all: I created a custom column in a custom content type in a Sharepoint Web manually (e.g. /MySite/MyWeb). I now want to programmatically copy this content type across to another web (e.g. /MySite/MyWeb2). However, upon looping through the custom content type in code, I could only find 2 fields: Content Type and Title (expected: Title and custom column). The custom column was missing. I'm very sure that the content type and field are added at the web level. The custom content type is inherited from Item. When I loop through the web's fields, I can see the custom column, and that was copied to the new web. It is only within the content type that the custom column is not showing up. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks.

  • Dealing w/ Sqlite Join results in a cursor

    I have a one-many relationship in my local Sqlite db. Pretty basic stuff. When I do my left outer join I get back results that look like this: the resulting cursor has multiple rows that look like this: A1.id | A1.column1 | A1.column2 | B1.a_id_fk | B1.column1 | B1.column2 A1.id | A1.column1 | A1.column2 | B2.a_id_fk | B2.column1 | B2.column2 and so on... Is there a standard practice or method of dealing with results like this ? Clearly there is only A1, but it has many B-n relationships. I am coming close to using multiple queries instead of the "relational db way". Hopefully I am just not aware of the better way to do things. I intend to expose this query via a content provider and I would hate for all of the consumers to have to write the same aggregation logic.

  • What's the location of a personal 'gtkrc' file in Ubuntu 12.04?

    Good day everyone! I am currently writting a software that makes easy to change default cursor theme with a few clicks. At this point it works well, but applications like Firefox or Lazarus IDE remain with the DMZ-White cursor, everything else is ok. I noticed that when I change the default cursor using my software, and later change the 'personalized' cursor theme using Ubuntu Tweak, it does the job, and the new theme is now applied everywhere. So, what file is need to modify in order to change 'personal' cursor theme? If my software can do this, that would be great! I found that 'gtkrc' is a file where settings of GTK+ are stored. I searched in my home folder but I can't find yet. Can you help me with this, noble people of Ubuntu? :)

  • Setting the Cursor Position in a Win32 Console Application

    How can I set the cursor position in a Win32 Console application? Preferably, I would like to avoid making a handle and using the Windows Console Functions. (I spent all morning running down that dark alley; it creates more problems than it solves.) I seem to recall doing this relatively simply when I was in college using stdio, but I can't find any examples of how to do it now. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello, I want to use the google maps hand cursor in Python but I don't know how to do it. I've downloaded the cursor but I only get to use the hand open, I also have a event that "closes" the hand when clicked but I don't know how can I change the style cursor on it. I say this because the google maps hand cursor has two style (the open and the closed hand). If you don't know how to use the other style you can also tell me how can I create another cursor where the close hand is the default style. If I have that, I only change the cursor and it's done.   • Webhosting with custom database choice [closed]

    Possible Duplicate: How to find web hosting that meets my requirements? I am trying to find somewhere to host a website which uses OrientDB as its database. My budget doesn't stretch to a dedicated server where I can configure everything as I need it. Rather, I am hoping to find somewhere, ideally UK based, that will allow me to install/install for me OrientDB on their server, that is of the normal shared server variety. Is anybody able to point me in a good direction for this please (whilst UK is preferable it is not essential)?

  • Why doesn't my cursor change to an Hourglass in my FindDialog in Delphi?

    I am simply opening my FindDialog with: FindDialog.Execute; In my FindDialog.OnFind event, I want to change the cursor to an hourglass for searches through large files, which may take a few seconds. So in the OnFind event I do this: Screen.Cursor := crHourglass; (code that searches for the text and displays it) ... Screen.Cursor := crDefault; What happens is while searching for the text, the cursor properly changes to the hourglass (or rotating circle in Vista) and then back to the pointer when the search is completed. However, this only happens on the main form. It does not happen on the FindDialog itself. The default cursor remains on the FindDialog during the search. While the search is happening if I move the cursor over the FindDialog it changes to the default, and if I move it off and over the main form it becomes the hourglass. This does not seem like what is supposed to happen. Am I doing something wrong or does something special need to be done to get the cursor to be the hourglass on all forms? For reference, I'm using Delphi 2009.

    I have been trying to customize Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy heron) alternate install cd. I have followed the community documentation at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallCDCustomization#Generating_a_new_ubuntu-keyring_.deb_to_sign_your_CD to rebuild the ubuntu-keyring packages. But when the media boots I get a warning: anna[7581]: WARNING **: bad md5sum. Though I have not been able to confirm that the message is for the ubunu-keyring-udeb package, the nearest debconf Adding [package] message is for ubuntu-keyring-udeb. This is followed by: INPUT critical retriever/cdrom/error. This message is already from syslog. I don't think dpkg.log will help in this case. I have tried modifying the md5sum file within the source package manually and signing it with my own public key, before building it. But that has not helped either. How do get the installer to work in this scenario? Alternatively, can I customize the contents of Ubuntu8.04 without signing anything?

    This relates to my recent question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2835663/force-oracle-error-on-fetch I am now able to reproduce a scenario where using ADO with the Oracle OLEDB Provider, I can force an error such as ORA-01722: invalid number to occur on calling Recordset.MoveNext However, this is not the error that is returned to the application. Instead, the application sees Provider error '80004005' Unspecified error. How can I get the application to see the real error from the database? This is with Oracle 10g (client and server), if it matters.     After many houres of bug searching in a big app, I have finally tracked down the bug. As you can see the problem is that '0' is interpreted as false on one occasion, and as true on another. Since I am completely lost on how this can happen, I dont know how to proceed. What could possibly result in such a behaviour? Both the columns are of the type "boolean", i.e a numeric in sqlite. Unfortunately the string returned is the correct value, while the integer is always 0. If I export the database to my computer and check it with SQlite Administrator I can see that the values are correctly set, it is only the getInt()-function that always returns 0. I know for a fact that this works in other apps I have coded, and I dont know why this has stopped working. I have tried compiling the code under 2.0, 2.0.1 and 2.1, and it always appears. I can make my app runnable again by getting boolean values like this: myBool= (DBresult.getString(0).equals("true")); but that is both ugly and not optimized. Any suggestions on what is causing this behaviour is welcome. Cheers,

    Hi, I have a query which returns 2+ rows. In those results is a column which we can call columnX for now. Lets look at those example results: columnX 100 86 85 70 null null I get 6 rows for example, some of them are null, some of them are not null. Now I want to go through those results and stop as soon as I find a row which is < null. How can I do that? Thanks in advance :-)

    Hi, I'm wondering if there's any way to merge two cursors together and then resort them. I can easily merge two cursors together by using a MergedCursor, but that doesn't sort them. I have two sets of contacts in two separate cursors (with totally different schemas) and I want to merge them and sort them by name (the name column is different in the two cursors).   • Remapping keyboard to get extra cursor keys - but why stick to VIM standard hjkl

    Inspired from VIM I recently remapped my keyboard layout to get extra keys for cursor movement. Being fluent in both QWERTY and DVORAK, it came quite natural to me to remap the DF and JK keys rather than the VIM standard hjkl keys. Here is my reasoning It enables me to quickly identify cursor keys since F and J are physically marked on my keyboard I'm using two hands for movement rather than one. I guess from DVORAK I learned to appreciate shifting between hands rather than using primarily one hand. It maps well with the Kinesis keyboard mapping http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/advantage.htm that I use occasionally. I feel I'm using my strongest fingers. I don't have to stretch my right index finger to read H as I would using the VIM layout. However, since I am still doing green field explorations on the cursor key remapping, I'd like others to share their experiences and/or criticize my suggested mapping. PS. If you want to toy around with my remapping using Autohotkey here is my script ; extra cursor keys. !d:: Send {Left} <^>!d:: Send {Left} !f:: Send {Right} <^>!f:: Send {Right} !j:: Send {Up} <^>!j:: Send {Up} !k:: Send {Down} <^>!k:: Send {Down} The question Is this mapping sane or is the VIM mapping superior?

    Is there any way to execute a custom action in WIX as soon as the first dialog (welcome) appears? The requirement is to check prerequisites, and some of those require a custom action. The custom action could be executed as we click to the next dialog, but then the standard WIX prereqs are determined apart from our custom prereq. (The custom action we need is to check that IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility is turned on and a registry search does not work on x64 machines with a 32-bit installer)

  • Can't disable giant cursors (from accessibility mode)

    I've just installed ubuntu 12.04 from a livecd. Out of curiosity, I enabled the accessibility options for people who are hard of sight. As you can guess this does the usual stuff of inverting colours, increasing text size and making the cursor larger. Having finished the installation I booted into the new system to find accessibility mode was still installed. From the lightdm login screen I disabled this which switched colours and text size back to default, however it's only the pointer cursor that has gone back to default. To put it another way, the "hand" icon that you get when hovering over a link, the cursor which appears when typing and pretty much every other cursor on the system are still large. I've looked on the Universal Access menu, but there's no option to disable large cursors. I've tried toggling accessibility on and off but to no avail.
