I'm currently using a jquery autocomplete plugin to suggest input to the user inside input tags, but the issue is that the autocomplete phrases can often be fairly long and thus scroll off the edge of the input field.

How To: Allow users to edit their account without providing a password ...to enable my users to change the account credential and update without providing their existing password. However, I also want to use the Confirmable modules reconfirmable functionality Even though I have config.reconfirmable = true set in my devise initializer file the controller doesn't seem to be sending the reconfirmable emails. Any ideas what's wrong?

    I am trying to overwrite a JavaScript on change event in the below code with jQuery however I believe that the inline JavaScript is taking priority over the jQuery functionality declared. Essentially I am trying to have an AJAX version of my site which includes an additional JavaScript file. I need this functionality to still work without the additional AJAX version, but I am not sure as to whether I should include it in the main JavaScript file or leave it inline like it is right now. Any suggestions and information regarding them would be greatly appreciated!     In CVS, we could programatically create a new branch of existing source using the "rtag" command, which did not require a copy of the repository. Does git support functionality of this kind, making a branch of existing files in a remote git repository without having a local copy of it? Or does the distributed nature of git preclude this? (I'm trying to save the 20+ minutes it would take to make a freestanding copy of the repository, just to run a 'git branch' command.)

    One of the joys of working for a government healthcare agency is having to deal with all of the paranoia around dealing with PHI (Protected Health Information). Don't get me wrong, I'm all for doing everything possible to protect people's personal information (health, financial, surfing habits, etc.), but sometimes people get a little too jumpy. Case in point: One of our state customers recently found out that the browser provides the handy feature to save your password. We all know that it has been there for a while and is completely optional and is up to the end user to decide whether or not it is a smart decision to use or not. However, there is a bit of an uproar at the moment and we are being demanded to find a way to disable that functionality for our site. Question: Is there a way for a site to tell the browser not to offer to remember passwords? I've been around web development a long time but don't know that I have come across that before.   • How get Tomahawk functionality with JSF 2.0 (Glassfish V3)

    I've started to upgrade an existing application written with JSF 1.1 and MyFaces Tomahawk 1.1 to JSF 2.0 to get facelets etc. I've now run into the snag that apparently Tomahawk is not JSF 2.0 compatible as it expects the stand-alone version of Facelets instead of the built-in to JSF 2.0 with the following error: org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: com.sun.faces.config.ConfigurationException: CONFIGURATION FAILED! com.sun.facelets.tag.jsf.ComponentHandler (it appears to be placed in javax.faces.view.facelets now). I have looked around and there doesn't seem to be a JSF 2.0 facelet compatible version of Tomahawk. I only believe I need t:updateActionListener (inside t:dataTable) and the rowSpan facility of t:panelGroup. Is all this functionality available in JSF 2.0 directly, or must I locate a new library giving this? Any suggestions?

  • WinForm PDF viewer with programatic search functionality

    We are currently using PDFTron's PDFView WinForm control to view PDF's in a WinForm application. I can load the file and search the file to highlight a certain text value. We have run into an issue where we have expired our trial license period and do not wish to shell out the $900/seat licensing on 15-20 computers. Does anybody know if the ActiveX Adobe Reader control can support the searching functionality programatically? I've tried that and the FoxIt Reader OCX control and neither seem to have this feature exposed (unless it's hidden really well) Does anybody have any suggestions for other freeware/open source viewers, or less-expensive viewers? TIA!

    I would like to add Copy-Paste Link functionality to an application. The application replaces a complex Excel workbook. I would like to be able to copy tables, text, and charts from the application and use Paste Link in MS Word. For the uninitiated: With Excel, when you use Paste Link for the tables, text, charts, etc. the items update in Word when you change them in Excel. Does anyone know for sure if this is/is not possible (is it some proprietary feature of MS Word-Excel)? If not, can anyone point me to some resources that will help (either an app that does this or a tutorial/write-up). Thanks!

    How can we Implement Bisect Python functionality in PHP Implement function bisect_left($arr, $item); as a pure-PHP routine to do a binary-bisection search for the position at which to insert $item into $list, maintaining the sort order therein. Assumptions: Assume that $arr is already sorted by whatever comparisons would be yielded by the stock PHP < operator, and that it's indexed on ints. The function should return an int, representing the index within the array at which $item would be inserted to maintain the order of the array. The returned index should be below any elements in $arr equal to $item, i.e., the insertion index should be "to the left" of anything equal to $item. Search routine should not be linear! That is, it should honor the name, and should attempt to find it by iteratively bisecting the list and comparing only around the midpoint.

All I need to do is allow a user to enter information in the new view (/posts/new) and then replace the submit button with a preview button. Once the preview button is clicked, the user is routed to the preview page (probably /posts/new/preview). If the user wants to make a change they would click 'go back' or if they are happy with the post they can then submit the post.     I'm not sure I'm asking the right question here, but I'm looking to provide web based functionality from one ASP.NET application to another remote 'portal-like' application. Is it possible to simply give the portal a DLL? As an example, let's say the SaaS web app has a patient-entry form that I want to be able to use from the portal application. I would like the portal app to be able to set preferences (permissions, color, style, etc), make a function call, and have that capability presented within a certain div or something. Is there any .NET technologies that provide this kind of integration?

Examples of its use would be x = Container.new x.include(ContainerModule) x.elements << Element.new x.elements.find id module ContainerModule def initialize(*args) @elements = [] class << @elements def <<(element) #do something with the Container... super(element) end def find(id) #find an element using the Container's id self #=> #<Array..> but I need #<Container..> end end super(*args) end end The problem is that I need the Container object within these methods. Any reference to self will return the Array, not the Container object. Is there any way to do this? Thanks!
