I can understand how this other sample: "Date literals" works. In. val christmas = 24 Dec 2010 Defined by: implicit def dateLiterals(date: Int) = new { import java.util.Date def Dec(year: Int) = new Date(year, 11, date) } When int get's passed the message Dec with an int as parameter, the system looks for another method that can handle the request, in this case Dec(year:Int) Q1. Am I right in my understanding of Date literals? Q2. How does it apply to BigInt? Thanks

    This question brought a new one: I have a html page and I need it to change the content type when the user press "save" button so the browser prompt to save the file to disk I've been doing this in the server side to offer "excel" versions of the page ( which is basically a html table ) <c:if test="${page.asExcelAction}"> <% response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel"); %> What I'm trying to do now is to do the same, but in the client side with javacript but I can't manage to do it so.   • Why am I having this InstantiationException in Java when accessing final local variables?

    I was playing with some code to make a "closure like" construct ( not working btw ) Everything looked fine but when I tried to access a final local variable in the code, the exception InstantiationException is thrown. If I remove the access to the local variable either by removing it altogether or by making it class attribute instead, no exception happens. The doc says: InstantiationException Thrown when an application tries to create an instance of a class using the newInstance method in class Class, but the specified class object cannot be instantiated. The instantiation can fail for a variety of reasons including but not limited to: - the class object represents an abstract class, an interface, an array class, a primitive type, or void - the class has no nullary constructor What other reason could have caused this problem?     I'm trying to define a simply Fraction class And I'm getting this error: python fraction.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "fraction.py", line 20, in <module> f.numerator(2) TypeError: 'int' object is not callable The code follows: class Fraction(object): def __init__( self, n=0, d=0 ): self.numerator = n self.denominator = d def get_numerator(self): return self.numerator def get_denominator(self): return self.denominator def numerator(self, n): self.numerator = n def denominator( self, d ): self.denominator = d def prints( self ): print "%d/%d" %(self.numerator, self.denominator) if __name__ == "__main__": f = Fraction() f.numerator(2) f.denominator(5) f.prints() I thought it was because I had numerator(self) and numerator(self, n) but now I know Python doesn't have method overloading ( function overloading ) so I renamed to get_numerator but that's not the problems. What could it be?

  • Can Crystal Reports Scale to Fit Page

    Hello , Can a crystal report be scaled to fit page? I'm hoping to achieve something similar to Microsoft Excel's Scale To Fit feature wherein a large spreadsheet can be scaled to fit a 8.5"x 11" page. (On MS Excel 2007 goto Page Layout Scale To Fit). Im searching of a way to make a large report fit into a smaller page during print. for example a report designed in Legal(8.5"x 14") page must be able to shrink when print previewed for Letter(8.5"x 11") page. In my crystal report, it should be scaled to fit the page by default. I was thinking maybe theres a Crystal Report Setting or C# code technique that I missed out. Any hint or link to the right direction is appreciated. Thanks!

    I have this months array: ["January", "March", "December" , "October" ] And I want to have it sorted like this: ["January", "March", "October", "December" ] I'm currently thinking in a "if/else" horrible cascade but I wonder if there is some other way to do this. The bad part is that I need to do this only with "string" ( that is, without using Date object or anything like that ) What would be a good approach?

  • Lookup function not working (RS SP2)

    Hi, I made the upgrade to SP2. I'm trying to use the Lookup function to link data from two different servers. I'm trying first a simple exercise linking data from two datasets from the same server, having one dataset with journals and the other with the account description. My Expression looks like this at a field on the table I have: =Lookup(Fields!ACTINDX.Value,Fields!ACTINDX.Value,Fields!ACTDESCR.Value,"ACCTINFO") I made sure of the names and using only uppercases for datasets and fields but I'm receiving the following message when I try to preview: "An error occurred during local report processing. The definition of the report '/DETAIL' is invalid. The Value expression for the text box 'ACTINDX' refers to the field 'ACTDESCR'. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current dataset scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified dataset scope". I'll appreciate any suggestions. Regards, Al
