  • Time values not saving in Airport Base Station MAC Timed Access List

    I have an airport base station model A1354. I am attempting to setup MAC Timed Access so a laptop can only connect between 5:00AM and 11:00pm through the Airport Utility version 5.5.2 (552.11). My AEBS is running firmware version 7.5.2 When I try to enter the time values by double clicking over the time and entering 05:00 AM and 11:00PM the time values don't stay as soon as it looses focus. Instead they become what is in the following screenshot, and the laptop looses connectivity as soon as I update the base station. I also tried entering the values in military time with the same result. Any base station power users out there that know how I can get the time values to "stick"?

    I am unable to get excel 2010 beta to save to a directory which contains square brackets. I have to save elsewhere and copy in. Is there any workaround? Was this a problem with older versions? I realize that I could manually change the directory names, but I didn't want to forgo a long standing organization scheme for the sake of one program if possible to avoid the problem.

  • Internet Explorer 8 Viewing PDF files vs saving them

    I have a user asking about viewing PDF files in Internet Explorer. When she clicks the file link on a website, IE prompts her to save the file, which she then has to open to read. What she's not seeing in the prompt is the ability to open the file without having to save it, or, just opening the PDF automatically. She and a few others are having the same problem, while a majority of the user do not have this problem. All of the users have IE 8 and Adobe Reader 9 installed. I've verified that Adobe Reader's "Display PDF in browser" option is enabled. What else should I check?

  • Saving Photoshop workspace doesn't remember docked panel state

    A friend of mine has recently setup his computer with a fresh install of Windows 7 and Photoshop CS5. He's having a strange issue with saved workspaces not remembering the state of docked panels. As an example, he's docked several panels on the right of the screen. The Layers panel is docked but is open, showing all layers in the document. If he saves this as a workspace, closes and reopens Photoshop and loads the workspace, the Layers panel is docked but is closed. It's not the only panel this is happening with. It's not a big problem but he's having to open 4 panels and drag them to the appropriate height each time he starts Photoshop. Does anyone know of a possible fix for this? Any insight would be great.

    I have a PSD file with all icons in separate layers as vectors. I would like to save them in different sizes to use in iPhone, iPhone4 and iPad. I tried Files Scripts Export Layers to Files That took about 15 minutes to save each layer while the computer was overheating from the work. Tried with two different computers, one with CS4 and the other with CS5. Same result. And that doesn't allow me to set sizes. Seem like most icon packs, like pictos, glyphish and iconsweets are distributed in this way, in one PSD file. Is some easy way to get them out of the PSD and into PNG files?

    Hi, I've created a form in a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Pro. When empy, I want to use it as a template which the user opens, fills in, and saves as a copy to preserve the blank state of the template. Here's the trick : I found both ways to make the document read only - the user can't save the form value, only print them make the document writeable, but in this case the document acting as a template can be modified too. Any ideas? Thanks.

    I often send and receive gpg-encrypted mail. At the moment I use thunderbird + enigmail (in linux) to do that. As far as I know there is no way in thunderbird to find all encrypted messages which bodies contain particular keywords. There also seems to be no option to save encrypted mails decrypted (so they would be searchable). However for me it is important to be able to search old encrypted mails. So my question is: Is there a way in linux to save incoming mails automatically decrypted in my inbox and save outgoing encrypted mail decrypted in the send folder? Both times adding a line to the body which remarks that the mail was encrypted. It could be another email client for linux that could to that or perhaps a solution using procmail or maildrop. For a procmail solution I guess there could be some problems with encoding (perhaps one have to use emil?). Note that the solution should work for multipart encrypted messages (including encrypted attachments) too. Further note that I don't want a discussion about security holes. For me it's ok if messages are stored decrypted on my harddrive (which is encrypted as a whole anyway). In doubt for a first solution it would be ok to store my private key passphrase in cleartext on my harddrive, too. The point is that the mails are encrypted on the mailserver or more generally on their "way through the net".

    I'm editing my video in Windows Live Movie Maker from Live Essentials 2011. My source video is from camera and is .mp4 format with size of 1280 x 720. After editing in Movie Maker, I save the movie. And no matter what option I chose, I always end up with .wmv file, that is either 4:3 image with black stripes above and below the video, or 16:9 with black frame all around the image. What settings should I use, to be able to export or save the video in 1280 x 720 without any black border?

    I want to save the images from a page in Firefox that have been open for a couple of days. The problem is that neither the page nor the images are available anymore online. The images where dynamically generated and not cached. The only way I can think of is by making a screenshot and then cutting out each invidual image. Isn't there a better way of getting the data from the browsers memory?

    I am hoping to make this question and the answers to it the definitive guide to dealing with daylight saving time, in particular for dealing with the actual change overs. If you have anything to add, please do Many systems are dependent on keeping accurate time, the problem is with changes to time due to daylight savings - moving the clock forward or backwards. For instance, one has business rules in an order taking system that depend on the time of the order - if the clock changes, the rules might not be as clear. How should the time of the order be persisted? There is of course an endless number of scenarios - this one is simply an illustrative one. How have you dealt with the daylight saving issue? What assumptions are part of your solution? (looking for context here) As important, if not more so: What did you try that did not work? Why did it not work? I would be interested in programming, OS, data persistence and other pertinent aspects of the issue. General answers are great, but I would also like to see details especially if they are only available on one platform. Summary of answers and other data: (please add yours) Do: Always persist time according to a unified standard that is not affected by daylight savings. GMT and UTC have been mentioned by different people. Include the local time offset (including DST offset) in stored timestamps. Remember that DST offsets are not always an integer number of hours (e.g. Indian Standard Time is UTC+05:30). If using Java, use JodaTime. - http://joda-time.sourceforge.net/ Create a table TZOffsets with three columns: RegionClassId, StartDateTime, and OffsetMinutes (int, in minutes). We have three ways of saving sensitive data in these packages : not storing them at all storing them with a user key storing them with a password However, each of these options is inconvenient while testing packages saved and committed by an other developer. For each such package, one has to update the credentials, no matter how the sensitive data was persisted. Is there a better way to collaborate on SSIS packages?

    SEVERE: IOException while loading persisted sessions: java.io.WriteAbortedException: writi ng aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException: That means this object cannot be persisted on hard disk. Does it imply that it's not safe to keep in Session objects that do not implement "Serializable"? I haven't heard that there are limitations on saving non-serializable objects in Session object. It simply means that Tomcat will always keep them in memory, right?
