• Wordpress Showing White Text [closed]

  So I've heard about all the wordpress issues with plugins making the edit box show only white text. I've heard about how this is an issue and they're working to fix it. I think the issue I'm having is a bit different. I can see plain black clean nice readable editable text on most of the computers within my dept. However, one user is seeing the white text while using IE6. I've disabled and re-enabled all if his IE plugins including Gears and adobe. Still seeing the issue with just that one computer. I have run windows udpate, and cleared the cache, all cookies and cleaned up the registry. Still seeing white text. Checked user preferences, but noticed that any users using that computer to edit posts will see white text. Is there a fix or workaround?

• Where did the text of my .html file go in text edit on mac.

  I recently created a .html file in text edit on my mac (os x 10.5.8). I then opened that .html file in my browser and it showed the page i created just fine. I closed the .html file and text edit and refreshed the page. It still worked fine. Then i opened up the .html file in text edit again and all the text was gone (the page in the browser still works fine though). Where did all the text go?

• possible to make text messaging with php have a constant "telephone number" value?

  hello, i have an iphone 3g and can successfully send text messages using the PHP mail() function. My issue is that for each message i receive, the "telephone number" associated with the incoming text message changes each time. If possible, I would like to somehow make this number constant so that I can take advantage of iphone's ability to aggregate all text messages from the same telephone number -Otherwise my iphone would be cluttered with messages. Is there a way to do this? an example of the numbers I receive would be 1(410) 000-001, 1(410) 000-002, 1(410) 000-003, etc... can i make this constant somehow? $message = stripslashes("new user just joined!"); mail("[email protected]", "Subject", "$message"); please let me know! thanks...

  I have a text area. I can set the text of it with $("#mytextarea").text("foo") I can prepend to the text area like this: $("#mytextarea").prepend("foo") But I cannot prepend to the jquery text() object like this: $("#mytextarea").text().prepend("foo") The reason I want to do this is so that if my user gets me to prepend this text: $("#mytextarea").prepend("<script>alert('lol i haxed uuu!')</script>") ...the script executes and I lose. Help?

  Hi, I have to draw underlined-multiline text with all types of text alignment. I have searched on forums and got some results like: http://davidjhinson.wordpress.com/2009/11/26/underline-text-on-the-iphone/ http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=561572 But all draw text for single line only. while i have multi-line text. The situation even become worse when the text alignment is centered. I searched and found that in iphone-sdk-3.2 there are some core-text attributes for underlining a text but no idea how to use that. Besides if I use these my problem would not be solved fully. As I have to draw strikethrough text also. Anybody having idea about this please help.

• New Wordpress posts generate 404 error.

  I had a working installation of WordPress, and I recently encountered an issue where when I tried to login to the back-end, the browser would redirect to the login URL of the previous domain WordPress was installed on. I fixed this by reinstalling WordPress, and I can now login to the backend, but any new posts I make, or old posts I have generate 404 errors. Additionally, if I try to navigate to any category page, I again receive a 404 error. I have looked at the wp_posts table of my database, and the GUID field each contains the correct domain name and URL structure. What should I be checking here? Site in question.

• Republishing blog posts on a popular website

  I started my blog about programming yesterday and in order to promote and increase traffic I submitted my rss to Codeproject which pulls my posts and publishes them at Codeproject. While it increases the number of people reading my posts (but they are reading it at codeproject) I am worried that Google will penalize my site for duplicate content (Especially considering that Codeproject has much more reputation compared to my new website). The post at Codeproject has a link back to my blog post but it does not have "rel=canonical". So my question which one is better: a link from a high reputation website and some traffic or should I remove it from codeproject so that my blog is not penalized? What if codeproject adds "rel=canonical" to the link?

• Optimal Database design regarding functionality of letting user share posts by other users

  I want to implement functionality which let user share posts by other users similar to what Facebook and Google+ share button and twitter retweet. There are 2 choices: 1) I create duplicate copy of the post and have a column which keeps track of the original post id and makes clear this is a shared post. 2) I have a separate table shared post where I save the post id which is a foreign key to post id in post table. Talking in terms of programming basically I keep pointer to the original post in a separate table and when need to get post posted by user and also shared ones I do a left join on post and shared post table Post(post_id(PK), post_content, posted_by) SharedPost(post_id(FK to Post.post_id), sharing_user, sharedfrom(in case someone shares from non owners profile)) I am in favour of second choice but wanted to know the advice of experts out there? One thing more posts on my webapp will be more on the lines of facebook size not tweet size.

• Making Firefox render canvas text the same as CSS text

  I've been experimenting with the canvas tag and Javascript. I've made a page that takes Tweets from the Twitter public timeline and animates them into view. It works by using a canvas element in the background for the animation. When the animation is complete, it creates a div element with the same text over the top. I do this so that the tweet text is selectable and links are clickable. Now, in Safari, Chrome and even Opera, the canvas text and div text look almost exactly the same. Yet in Firefox, the size of the text is different enough to make it 'jump' at the point it changes into the div. Does anyone know how to make Firefox render the text the same on the canvas element and the div using CSS? Or is this a rendering inconsistency with the engine. I have put the page on my website if you want to see what I mean. So, to recap, I'm using the same font and ending up at the same px size, yet Firefox renders the text differently between Canvas and CSS. (edit) Here's a screenshot example: First line is the text animating in using canvas, second line is the resulting div.

  I've been looking for a text editor that automatically (or at least makes it easy to-) make some sort of navigation. Adobe Reader has this functionality with its bookmark system: Right now, though, I'm using Word 2007. For each section, I go Insert Bookmark, highlight the text, copy/paste the text as the link information, and it appears at the top of the document. I've made a macro to add bookmarks easier, but it's still pretty awful, and the bookmarks are still at the top of the page (rather than in the sidebar, where it's always accessible) Honestly, I would just prefer to write it in a PDF like in that screenshot. But any text editor with this type of functionality would work. It just needs basic formatting options, bold/font size, underline, images, maybe tables.

  How do I enter normal text in Microsoft Paint? Normally I don't have any problems adding text to an image in Paint. But I ran into this problem: The text is supposed to be "abcdefd" (entered in a text editor and pasted). The same characters appear if typed directly.   I have a frequent need to manually manipulate tab-delimited text for data entry and other purposes, and when i do this it helps if the text is aligned properly into columns. For example (assuming 4-space tabs): # original format abcdefghijklmnop field2 abcdefgh field2 abcdefghijkl field2 # ideal format abcdefghijklmnop field2 abcdefgh field2 abcdefghijkl field2 I am very familiar with using the column utility to columnate text this way, but the problem is that it uses spaces to align the columns, and i specifically need tabs. This requirement also appears to rule out the Tabularize plug-in. Is there any way that i can columnate text with tabs specifically, either within vim or at the shell? It looks like i might be able to do it with groff/tbl, but honestly i'd rather columnate it by hand than mess with that....

  Hi I know that as3 has some powerful new text search capabilities, especially when combined with regex. I don't even know if this is possible, but I would like to somehow, search any block of text, and return all nouns, adjectives and verbs. What would be the best(most efficent) way to do this? Is regex an option? or would I have to load in some sort of open sourced dictionary 9as used in spellcheckers) to compare with or??
