Now I have googled and got to know that python has a generic module that can be used to read BVH file but i don't know how to use it or how to import that module. Can anyone help me with that. • Is there any framework for Windows Forms, DB driven application development/prototyping?

  I'm writing simple database driven application, 80% of functionality is CRUD operations on about 15 tables. Coming from web development background I figured I can cover almost all of these CRUD cases with Rails scaffolding or say Django admins. So I started to look around for Rails/Django-like framework but for Windows Forms applications (ofcourse I understand that "rich client" application development significantly differs from a web development and I'm not expecting anything really similar). I was surprised that except for a variety of ORMs (let's call it Model-layer) it seems like I'm left with little choice when it comes to View-Controller layer. Maybe I'm missing something? PS. I evaluated Visual Studio DataSet Designer, but it seems to work only for the most simple cases, and requires additional code for any slightly nontrivial task.   Hello Guys, I have installed Ubuntu9.10 on VM VirtualBox, on my HP laptop. My laptop has several USB ports and also a SD card port. Unfortunately, I'm unable to access both, my pen-drive on the USB port and my 8GB SD card inserted in the SD Card port. Can anyone suggest me what I should do for my Ubuntu to detect both of them? • Using Take and skip keyword to filter records in LINQ

  In LINQ we can use the take keyword to filter out the number of records that we want to retrieve from the query. Let’s say we want to retrieve only the first 5 records for the list or array then we can use the following query     int[] numbers = { 5, 4, 1, 3, 9, 8, 6, 7, 2, 0 };     var first3Numbers = numbers.Take(3); The TAKE keyword can also be easily applied to list of object in the following way. var first3WAOrders = (         from cust in customers         from order in cust.Orders         select cust ) .Take(3); [Note in the query above we are using the order clause so that the data is first ordered based on the orders field and then the first 3 records are taken. In both the above example we have been able to filter out data based on the number of records we want to fetch. But in both the cases we were fetching the records from the very beginning. But there can be some requirements whereby we want to fetch the records after skipping some of the records like in paging. For this purpose LINQ has provided us with the skip method which skips the number of records passed as parameter in the result set. int[] numbers = { 5, 4, 1, 3, 9, 8, 6, 7, 2, 0 }; var allButFirst4Numbers = numbers.Skip(4); The SKIP keyword can also be easily applied to list of object in the following way. var first3WAOrders = (         from cust in customers         from order in cust.Orders         select cust ).Skip(3);  Vikram

• TakeWhile and SkipWhile method in LINQ

   In my last post I talked about how to use the take and the Skip keyword to filter out the number of records that we are fetching. But there is only problem with the take and skip statement. The problem lies in the dependency where by the number of records to be fetched has to be passed to it. Many a times the number of records to be fetched is also based on the query itself. For example if we want to continue fetching records till a certain condition is met on the record set. Let’s say we want to fetch records from the array of number till we get 7. For this kind of query LINQ has exposed the TakeWhile Method.     int[] numbers = { 5, 4, 1, 3, 9, 8, 6, 7, 2, 0 };     var firstNumbersLessThan6 = numbers.TakeWhile(n => n < 7);   In the same way we can also use the SkipWhile statement. The skip while statement will skip all the records that do not match certain condition provided. In the example below we are skiping all those number which are not divisible by 3. Remember we could have done this with where clause also, but SkipWhile method can be useful in many other situation and hence the example and the keyword.     int[] numbers = { 5, 4, 1, 3, 9, 8, 6, 7, 2, 0 };     var allButFirst3Numbers = numbers.SkipWhile(n => n % 3 != 0); Vikram

  LINQ has a habit of returning things as IEnumerable. But we have all been working with so many other format of lists like array ilist, dictionary etc that most of the time after having the result set we want to get them converted to one of our known format. For this reason LINQ has come up with helper method which can convert the result set in the desired format. Below is an example var sortedDoubles =         from d in doubles         orderby d descending         select d;     var doublesArray = sortedDoubles.ToArray(); This way we can also transfer the data to IList and Dictionary objects. Let’s say we have an array of Objects. The array contains all different types of data like double, int, null, string etc and we want only one type of data back then also we can use the helper function ofType. • 2D Inverse Kinematics Implementation

  Hi I am trying to implement Inverse Kinematics on a 2D arm(made up of three sticks with joints). I am able to rotate the lowest arm to the desired position. Now, I have some questions: How can I make the upper arm move alongwith the third so the end point of the arm reaches the desired point. Do I need to use the rotation matrices for both and if yes can someone give me some example or an help and is there any other possibl;e way to do this without rotation matrices??? The lowest arm only moves in one direction. I tried google it, they are saying that cross product of two vectors give the direction for the arm but this is for 3D. I am using 2D and cross product of two 2D vectors give a scalar. So, how can I determine its direction??? Plz guys any help would be appreciated.... Thanks in advance Vikram

• How to read pixel values of a video?

  Hi Guys, I recently wrote C programs for image processing of BMP images, I had to read the pixel values and process them, it was very simple I followed the BMP header contents and I could get most of the information of the BMP image. Now the challenge is to process videos (Frame by Frame), how can I do it? How will I be able to read the headers of continuous streams of image frames in a video clip? Or else, is it like, for example, the mpeg format will also have universal header, upon reading which I can get the information about the entire video and after the header, all the data are only pixels. I hope I could convey. Has anyone got experience with processing videos? Any books or links to tutorials will be very helpful. Vikram

I want the urls to mapped like this... www.example.com/nodes/main - www.example.com/main www.example.com/nodes/about - www.example.com/about So for this I wrote in my config/routes.php file.. Router::connect('/:action', array('controller' => 'nodes')); Now, I got the thing going but when I click on the links, the url in browser appears like www.example.com/nodes/main www.example.com/nodes/about Is there some way where I can get the urls to appear the way they are routed? • Retrieving only the first record or record at a certain index in LINQ

  While working with data it’s not always required that we fetch all the records. Many a times we only need to fetch the first record, or some records in some index, in the record set. With LINQ we can get the desired record very easily with the help of the provided element operators. Simple get the first record. If you want only the first record in record set we can use the first method [Note that this can also be done easily done with the help of the take method by providing the value as one].     List<Product> products = GetProductList();      Product product12 = (         from prod in products         where prod.ProductID == 12         select prod)         .First();   We can also very easily put some condition on which first record to be fetched.     string[] strings = { "zero", "one", "two", "three", "four", "five", "six", "seven", "eight", "nine" };     string startsWithO = strings.First(s => s[0] == 'o');  In the above example the result would be “one” because that is the first record starting with “o”.  Also the fact that there will be chances that there are no value returned in the result set. When we know such possibilities we can use the FirstorDefault() method to return the first record or incase there are no records get the default value.        int[] numbers = {};     int firstNumOrDefault = numbers.FirstOrDefault();  In case we do not want the first record but the second or the third or any other later record then we can use the ElementAt() method. In the ElementAt() method we need to pass the index number for which we want the record and we will receive the result for that element.      int[] numbers = { 5, 4, 1, 3, 9, 8, 6, 7, 2, 0 };      int fourthLowNum = (         from num in numbers         where num > 5         select num )         .ElementAt(1); Vikram
