  • How do you set up your JScript (NOT JScript.NET) development environment?

    - by jJack
    In my environment, if I create a class in JScript syntax: class test{ } and then save it to a file named "test.js" and run it with wscript, I get a Microsoft JScript "Syntax error" at line 1. However, if I simply, say, write a function: function getInput() { var wshell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell"); wshell.Popup ("Do you want to continue?"); return userInput } getInput() and run it the same way, it works. Hopefully, there is something fundamentally wrong with my class definition. If that is the case, I am excited to find out.

  • Visual Studio namespace errors after deleting userControls

    - by msfanboy
    Really Visual Studio can be so annoying sometimes... I did nothing else than deleting 3 UserControls in a folder. Since that time I get a error message I do not get rid of. Whatever I do I can not build successfully my project. I did not touch the SchoolAdministrationUC.xaml file , but I deleted 3 other UserControls also located in the path: TBM\View\SchoolclassAdministration\ Error message from VS: Error 1 The type or namespacename "SchoolclassAdministration" is in namespace "TBM.View" not available. (missing assembly reference?) E:\TBM\obj\x86\Debug\View\SchoolclassAdministration\SchoolAdministrationUC.g.cs 33 16 TBM How do I get rid of error ?

  • what is value of x for load and store

    - by Kevinniceguy
    This is some challenge On a single processor system, in which load and store are assumed to be atomic, what are all the possible values for x after both threads have completed in the following execution, assuming that x is initialised to O? Hint: you need to consider how this code might be compiled into machine language. for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) : x = x + 1; for (int j = 0; j < 5; j++) : x = x + 1;

  • Explicitly typing variables causes compiler to think an instance of a builtin type doesn't have a pr

    - by wallacoloo
    I narrowed the causes of an AS3 compiler error 1119 down to code that looks similar to this: var test_inst:Number = 2.953; trace(test_inst); trace(test_inst.constructor); I get the error "1119: Access of possibly undefined property constructor through a reference with static type Number." Now if I omit the variable's type, I don't get that error: var test_inst = 2.953; trace(test_inst); trace(test_inst.constructor); it produces the expected output: 2.953 [class Number] So what's the deal? I like explicitly typing variables, so is there any way to solve this error other than not providing the variable's type?

  • What could cause these Apache crash errors ?

    - by jacobanderssen
    Hello guys. I had a server crash several days ago. I use Cacti to keep stats: at the time when the server crashed, a huge spike from Load 1 to Load 200 occurred, with over 800 processes in the run queue ( from 300 average). Upon checking /var/log/httpd I notice this: * glibc detected /usr/sbin/httpd: double free or corruption (out): 0x00002b8f3142c2f0 ** Followed by alot of these: [Sat Mar 13 19:20:20 2010] [warn] child process 3090 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sat Mar 13 19:20:20 2010] [warn] child process 3091 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM Followed by this: ======= Backtrace: ========= /lib64/libc.so.6[0x2b8f1463c2ef] /lib64/libc.so.6(cfree+0x4b)[0x2b8f1463c73b] /usr/lib64/libapr-1.so.0(apr_pool_destroy+0x131)[0x2b8f13f98821] /usr/sbin/httpd[0x2b8f126df47e] /usr/sbin/httpd[0x2b8f126df4ab] /lib64/libpthread.so.0[0x2b8f141b87c0] /etc/httpd/modules/mod_file_cache.so[0x2b8f1cdf00fb] ======= Memory map: ======== And finally a lot of these: [Sat Mar 13 19:20:27 2010] [error] could not make child process 733 exit, attempting to continue anyway [Sat Mar 13 19:20:27 2010] [error] could not make child process 24560 exit, attempting to continue anyway [Sat Mar 13 19:20:27 2010] [error] could not make child process 31384 exit, attempting to continue anyway I am also noticing one or two lines like this: [Mon Mar 15 01:17:26 2010] [notice] child pid 20765 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) Please help me shed some light on this. • Printing the address of a struct object

    - by bdhar
    I have a struct like this typedef struct _somestruct { int a; int b; }SOMESTRUCT,*LPSOMESTRUCT; I am creating an object for the struct and trying to print it's address like this int main() { LPSOMESTRUCT val = (LPSOMESTRUCT)malloc(sizeof(SOMESTRUCT)); printf("0%x\n", val); return 0; } ..and I get this warning warning C4313: 'printf' : '%x' in format string conflicts with argument 1 of type 'LPSOMESTRUCT' So, I tried to cast the address to int like this printf("0%x\n", static_cast<int>(val)); But I get this error: error C2440: 'static_cast' : cannot convert from 'LPSOMESTRUCT' to 'int' What am I missing here? How to avoid this warning? Thanks.

  • C++ MTL Library dimension.h bug?

    - by avanwieringen
    I've installed MTL on my Fedora Core 12 x64 system, but when building an application I get the following error: In file included from /usr/local/include/mtl/matrix.h:41, from /usr/local/include/mtl/mtl.h:40, from ltiSystem.hxx:4, from strTools.hxx:4, from ff.cxx:3: /usr/local/include/mtl/envelope2D.h:72: error: declaration of ‘typedef struct mtl::twod_tag mtl::envelope2D<T>::dimension’ /usr/local/include/mtl/dimension.h:19: error: changes meaning of ‘dimension’ from ‘class mtl::dimension<typename mtl::dense1D<T, 0>::size_type, 0, 0>’ make[1]: *** [ff.o] Error 1 Which would imply an error in MTL. I have changed to different MTL versions and the problem persists, but on Google there is no proper answer. I use the g++ compiler. Does anyone have a clye?

  • Code crashing compiler: main() returning a struct instead of an int

    - by AndrejaKo
    Hi! I'm experimenting with a piece of C code. Can anyone tell me why is VC 9.0 with SP1 crashing for me? Oh, and the code is meant to be an example used in a discussion why something like void main (void) is evil. struct foo { int i; double d; } main (double argc, struct foo argv) { struct foo a; a.d=0; a.i=0; return a.i; } If I put return a; compiler doesn't crash.

  • A script that writes errors and should create a event-error

    - by helmich
    this if it works should check the internet connection if there is a connection it does nothing. if there isn't a connection it should write a error in a txtfile if that happend 5 times it should create a error but it doesn't I will show you the whole code that i have now and the piece of code that i want in a loop. I can't get it in the way i want. I want it to creat 1 Event-error after 5 times writing to the file. this is the whole code i will put the code i want in a loop under it strDirectory = "Z:\text2" strFile = "\foutmelding.txt" strText = "De connectie is verbroken" strWebsite = "www.helmichbeens.com" If PingSite(strWebsite) Then WScript.Quit 'Website is pingable - no further action required Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") RecordSingleEvent Dim fout For fout = 1 To 5 : Do If fout = 5 Then Exit Do Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Call WshShell.LogEvent(1, "Test Event") Loop While False : next '------------------------------------ 'Record a single event in a text file '------------------------------------ Sub RecordSingleEvent If Not objFSO.FolderExists(strDirectory) Then objFSO.CreateFolder(strDirectory) Set objTextFile = objFSO.OpenTextFile(strDirectory & strFile, 8, True) objTextFile.WriteLine(Now & strText) objTextFile.Close End sub '---------------- 'Ping my web site '---------------- Function PingSite( myWebsite ) Set objHTTP = CreateObject( "WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1" ) objHTTP.Open "GET", "http://" & myWebsite & "/", False objHTTP.SetRequestHeader "User-Agent", "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MyApp 1.0; Windows NT 5.1)" On Error Resume Next objHTTP.Send PingSite = (objHTTP.Status = 200) On Error Goto 0 End Function '----------------------------------------------- 'Counts the number of lines inside the text file '----------------------------------------------- Function EventCount(fout) strData = objFSO.OpenTextFile(strDirectory & strFile,ForReading).ReadAll arrLines = Split(strData,vbCrLf) EventCount = UBound(arrLines) End Function This is the whole code, and it doesnt work correctly becaus it creats a event-log rightaway and it should do that after the script has written 5 times to the textfile here is the code that writes to a textfile Sub RecordSingleEvent If Not objFSO.FolderExists(strDirectory) Then objFSO.CreateFolder(strDirectory) Set objTextFile = objFSO.OpenTextFile(strDirectory & strFile, 8, True) objTextFile.WriteLine(Now & strText) objTextFile.Close End sub and here is the code but this part doesnt not work or atleast i think it is this part Dim fout For fout = 1 To 5 : Do If fout = 5 Then Exit Do Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Call WshShell.LogEvent(1, "Test Event") Loop While False : next Function EventCount(fout) strData = objFSO.OpenTextFile(strDirectory & strFile,ForReading).ReadAll arrLines = Split(strData,vbCrLf) EventCount = UBound(arrLines) End Function this is the not working part and I don't know what to do anymore so can you please take a look at it tank you very much. btw: this code can be very usefull for a network administrator

  • Is there a work around for invalid octal digit in an array?

    - by sircrisp
    I'm trying to create an array which will hold the hours in a day so I can loop through it for a clock. I have: int hourArray[24] = {12, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11}; I am getting the error on the following numbers in order 08, 09, 08, 09. It tells me: Error: invalid octal digit I've never run into this before and I'm wondering if there is any way around it?

  • C++ Constructor With Parameters Won't Initialize, Errors C2059 and C2228

    - by Some Girl
    I'm a C# programmer trying to muddle through C++ to create a Windows Forms Application. I have a Windows Form that makes use of a user-created class. Basically I'm trying to use a constructor that takes parameters, but my form won't let me initialize the object with parameter. Here's the code, hopefully somebody can explain the problem to me because I'm completely baffled... Here's my header file: BankAcct.h public ref class BankAcct { private: int money; public: BankAcct(); BankAcct(int); void Deposit(int); void GetBalance(int&); }; And my definition file: BankAcct.cpp #include "StdAfx.h" #include "BankAcct.h" BankAcct::BankAcct() { money = 0; } BankAcct::BankAcct(int startAmt) { money = startAmt; } void BankAcct::Deposit(int depAmt) { money += depAmt; } void BankAcct::GetBalance(int& balance) { balance = money; } And finally my main form. Won't copy the whole thing, of course, but I'm trying to declare the new bank account object, and start it with a balance of say $50. private: BankAcct myAccount(50); //does not work! WHY?? //private: //BankAcct myAccount; //works then in the form constructor my code is this: public: frmBank(void) { InitializeComponent(); int bal; myAccount.GetBalance(bal); lblBankBalance->Text += Convert::ToString(bal); } I've included the BankAcct.h file at the top of my frmBank.h, what else am I doing wrong here? It works great if I use the default constructor (the one that starts the bank balance at zero). I get the following error messages: error C2059: syntax error: 'constant' and error C2228: left of '.GetBalance' must have class/struct/union Thank you for any and all help on this one!!

  • Expected Class-name before { token

    - by ML
    Hi All, I am trying to figure out whey I get an error: expected class-name before { token Here is the relative source to the error: #pragma once #ifndef H_FXACTION #define H_FXACTION #include "CP_M_RefCounted.h" #include "FxTypes.h" #include "string" #include "FxString.h" #include "FxPixels.h" #include "CP_Rect.h" #include "FxStreamable.h" #include "FxPoint.h" #include "FxPtr.h" #include "FxImage.h" #include "FxSleekStreaming.h" typedef FxID FxActionType; typedef FxUInt32 FxActionID; FxActionID FrMakeUniqueActionID(void); class FxActionData; class FxActionData : public CP_M_RefCounted { public: FxActionData(); FxActionData(FxBool final) :mFinal(final) { } virtual ~FxActionData(); I get the error at this line: class FxActionData : public CP_M_RefCounted What I dont get is why the line: class FxActionData; is there when you are creating the class directly under it. Isn't this a forward declaration? What things could be going on here?

  • Delphi SQLite Update causing errors to appear.

    - by NeoNMD
    I have used Inserts, selects, updates, deleted without problem all over the program but for some reason this specific section causes it to except and not run the SQL I send it. I am trying to "UPDATE SectionTable(AreaID) VALUES ('+IntToStr(ActClient.AreaID)+') WHERE SectionID='+IntToStr(iCount)" The section with the ID "iCount" exists deffinately. The ActClient.AreaID is "2" and its overwriting null data in the "SectionTable" table. What is the problem here? OpenDatabase(slDb); sltb:=sldb.GetTable('SELECT * FROM SectionTable WHERE SectionID='+IntToStr(iCount)); OutputDebugString(PAnsiChar(sltb.FieldAsString(sltb.FieldIndex['SectionID'])+sltb.FieldAsString(sltb.FieldIndex['Gender'])+sltb.FieldAsString(sltb.FieldIndex['CompetitionID']))); sSQL := 'UPDATE SectionTable(AreaID) VALUES ('+IntToStr(ActClient.AreaID)+') WHERE SectionID='+IntToStr(iCount); sldb.ExecSQL(sSQL); CloseDatabase(slDb); I get this error message appear when this is ran. --------------------------- Debugger Exception Notification --------------------------- Project CompetitionServer.exe raised exception class ESQLiteException with message 'Error executing SQL. • Consolidating files in a single directory before you link them into the final executable

    - by David
    I am working on Solaris 10, Sun Studio 11. I am refactoring some old code, and trying to write unit tests for them. My make file looks like: my_model.o:my_model.cc CC -c my_model.cc -I/../../include -library=stlport4 -instances=extern unit_test: unit_test.o my_model.o symbol_dictionary.o CC -o unit_test unit_test.o my_model.o symbol_dictionary.o -I../../include \ -library=stlport4 -instances=extern unit_test.o: unit_test.cc CC -c unit_test.cc -I/../../include -library=stlport4 -instances=extern symbol_dictionary.o: cd ../../test-fixtures && ($MAKE) symbol_dictionary.o mv ../../test-fixtures/symbol_dictionary.o . In the ../../test-fixtures makefile, I have the following target: symbol_dictionary.o: CC -c symbol_dictionary.cc -I/../../include -library=stlport4 -instances=extern I do the instances=extern because I had linking problems before, and this was the recommended solution. The consequence is in each directory that is being compiled, a SunWS_Cache directory is created to store the template instances. This is the long way to get to this question. Is it a standard practice to consolidate object files in a single directory before you link them?

  • Statically checking a Java app for link errors

    - by monorailkitty
    I have a scenario where I have code written against version 1 of a library but I want to ship version 2 of the library instead. The code has shipped and is therefore not changeable. I'm concerned that it might try to access classes or members of the library that existed in v1 but have been removed in v2. I figured it would be possible to write a tool to do a simple check to see if the code will link against the newer version of the library. I appreciate that the code may still be very broken even if the code links. I am thinking about this from the other side - if the code won't link then I can be sure there is a problem. As far as I can see, I need to run through the bytecode checking for references, method calls and field accesses to library classes then use reflection to check whether the class/member exists. I have three-fold question: (1) Does such a tool exist already? (2) I have a niggling feeling it is much more complicated that I imagine and that I have missed something major - is that the case? (3) Do you know of a handy library that would allow me to inspect the bytecode such that I can find the method calls, references etc.? Thanks!
