• Make phone browser open a URL on Symbian S60 3rd Ed programmatically

  On clicking a URL displayed in my application running on a Symbian S60 3rd Edition device should make the phone browser ( which is already open ) open the specified URL.   I have UITableView. I customized the cell height (increased). I have 4 labels(UILabel) and 1 image(UIImage) and 3 buttons (UIButton). one of the button is delete button. By touching the cell or button(play button) on the image a video is loaded and played. I need to delete the cell by touching delete button. If I touched the delete button the corresponding video is deleted from library . But, how to delete the cell and all remaining data in it ? I am not able to delete the cells or the data in the cells. How to do it ? I used these.   I have an application where you can click on a button, this takes you to a new activity with four new buttons, listen, bio, ringtone, and watch. Question is, how do i do this? I was figuring if there was a way to change the ContentView after the video is displayed back to the main one for the four button page but could not figure it out. When I press the backbutton on the device, it takes me two levels up to the main selection activity not the four button activity. I hope this was somewhat clear. Thanks for any help.

• Androids ExpandableListView - where to put the button listener for buttons that are children

  I have been playing around a lot with the ExpandableListView and I cannot figure out where to add the button listeners for the button that will be the children in the view. I did manage to get a button listener working that uses getChildView() below, but it seems to be the same listener for all the buttons. The best case scenario is that I would be able to implement the button listeners in the class that instantiates the ExpandableListAdapter class, and not have to put the listeners in the actual ExpandableListAdapter class. But by default this is disabled and I need to force the download box to be prompting. Can I do anything without change a lot of code? Thanks.

  I have an assignment where i have to create an Image Gallery which uses a SwingWorker to load the images froma a file, once the image is load you can flip threw the image and have a slideshow play. I am having trouble getting the list of loaded images using SwingWorker. This is what happens in the background it just publishes the results to a TextArea // In a thread @Override public List<Image> doInBackground() { List<Image> images = new ArrayList<Image>(); for (File filename : filenames) { try { //File file = new File(filename); System.out.println("Attempting to add: " + filename.getAbsolutePath()); images.add(ImageIO.read(filename)); publish("Loaded " + filename); System.out.println("Added file" + filename.getAbsolutePath()); } catch (IOException ioe) { publish("Error loading " + filename); } } return images; } } when it is done I just insert the images in a List<Image> and that is all it does. // In the EDT @Override protected void done() { try { for (Image image : get()) { list.add(image); } } catch (Exception e) { } } Also I created an method that returns the list called getImages() what I need to get is the list from getImages() but doesn't seam to work when I call execute() for example MySwingWorkerClass swingworker = new MySwingWorkerClass(log,list,filenames); swingworker.execute(); imageList = swingworker.getImage() Once it reaches the imageList it doesn't return anything the only way I was able to get the list was when i used the run() instead of the execute() is there another way to get the list or is the run() method the only way?. or perhaps i am not understanding the Swing Worker Class.

• What's keeping this timer in scope? The anonymous method?

  Ok, So I have a method which fires when someone clicks on our Icon in a silverlight application, seen below: private void Logo_MouseLeftButtonUp(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { e.Handled = true; ShowInfo(true); DispatcherTimer autoCloseTimer = new DispatcherTimer(); autoCloseTimer.Interval = new TimeSpan(0, 0, 10); autoCloseTimer.Tick +=new EventHandler((timerSender,args) => { autoCloseTimer.Stop(); ShowInfo(false); }); autoCloseTimer.Start(); } Whats meant to happen is that the method ShowInfo() opens up a box with the company info in and the dispatch timer auto closes it after said timespan. And this all works... But what I'm not sure about is because the dispatch timer is a local var, after the Logo_MouseLeftButtonUp method finishes, what is there to keep the dispatch timer referenced and not availible for GC collection before the anonymous method is fired? Is it the reference to the ShowInfo() method in the anonymous method? Just feels like some thing I should understand deeper as I can imagine with using events etc it can be very easy to create a leak with something like this. Hope this all makes sense! Andy.

  My question is related to all those methods(including Thread.sleep(...)) which throw InterruptedException. I found a statement on Sun's tutorial saying InterruptedException is an exception that sleep throws when another thread interrupts the current thread while sleep is active. Is that means that the interrupt will be ignored if the sleep is not active at the time of interrupt? Suppose I have two threads: threadOne and threadTwo. threadOne creates and starts threadTwo. threadTwo executes a runnable whose run method is something like: public void run() { : : try { Thread.sleep(10 * 1000); } catch (InterruptedException e) { return; } : : : // In the middle of two sleep invocations : : try { Thread.sleep(10 * 1000); } catch (InterruptedException e) { return; } : : } After thread creation, threadOne interrupts threadTwo. Suppose the threadTwo is in the middle of two sleep invocations at the time of interrupt (when no sleep method was active), then will the second sleep method throw InterrupteException as soon as it is invoked? If not, then will this interrupt will be ignored forever? How to be sure that threadTwo will always know about the interrupt (doesn't matter whether its one of the sleep method is active or not)?

The elements of all the other rows of the resulting matrix is wrong. By the way I am using pyopencl. I don't know what I mistake I am doing here. I have spent the entire day with no luck. Please help me with this

• Multidimensional data structure?

  I need a multidimensional data structure with a row and a column. Must be able to insert elements any location in the data structure. Example: {A , B} I want to insert C in between A and B. {A, C, B}. Dynamic: I do not know the size of the data structure. Another example: I know the [row][col] of where I want to insert the element. EX. insert("A", 1, 5), where A is the element to be inserted, 1 is the row, 5 is the column. EDIT I want to be able to insert like this. static void Main(string[] args) { Program p = new Program(); List<string> list = new List<string>(); list.Insert(1, "HELLO"); list.Insert(5, "RAWR"); for (int i = 0; i < list.Count; i++) { Console.WriteLine(list[i]); } Console.ReadKey(); } And of course this crashes with an out of bounds error. So in a sense I will have a user who will choose which ROW and COL to insert the element to.

Let's say that this class treats the file as having a specific file format, and contains methods to perform operations on this file: class Foo { std::wstring fileName_; public: Foo(const std::wstring& fileName) : fileName_(fileName) { //Construct a Foo here. }; int getChecksum() { //Open the file and read some part of it //Long method to figure out what checksum it is. //Return the checksum. } }; Let's say I'd like to be able to unit test the part of this class that calculates the checksum. Unit testing the parts of the class that load in the file and such is impractical, because to test every part of the getChecksum() method I might need to construct 40 or 50 files! Now lets say I'd like to reuse the checksum method elsewhere in the class. I extract the method so that it now looks like this: class Foo { std::wstring fileName_; static int calculateChecksum(const std::vector<unsigned char> &fileBytes) { //Long method to figure out what checksum it is. } public: Foo(const std::wstring& fileName) : fileName_(fileName) { //Construct a Foo here. }; int getChecksum() { //Open the file and read some part of it return calculateChecksum( something ); } void modifyThisFileSomehow() { //Perform modification int newChecksum = calculateChecksum( something ); //Apply the newChecksum to the file } }; Now I'd like to unit test the calculateChecksum() method because it's easy to test and complicated, and I don't care about unit testing getChecksum() because it's simple and very difficult to test. But I can't test calculateChecksum() directly because it is private. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

• How can I get a custom made set of checkboxes return values in the postback?

The problem is that when this page posts back via some event on the page, I never get these tags in the Request.Form collection. Is this simply how ASP.NET works (e.g. only server-side control post back) or am I missing something simple. My understanding was that a postback should bring back all the form variables.

Given an MVC application that is using Entity Framework for the persistence engine, a repository layer, a service layer that basically defers to the repository, and a delete method on a controller that looks like this: public ActionResult Delete(State model) { try { if( model == null ) { return View( model ); } _stateService.Delete( model ); return RedirectToAction("Index"); } catch { return View( model ); } } I am looking for the proper way to Unit Test this. Currently, I have a fake repository that gets used in the service, and my unit test looks like this: [TestMethod] public void Delete_Post_Passes_With_State_4() { //Arrange var stateService = GetService(); var stateController = new StateController( stateService ); ViewResult result = stateController.Delete( 4 ) as ViewResult; var model = (State)result.ViewData.Model; //Act RedirectToRouteResult redirectResult = stateController.Delete( model ) as RedirectToRouteResult; stateController = new StateController( stateService ); var newresult = stateController.Delete( 4 ) as ViewResult; var newmodel = (State)newresult.ViewData.Model; //Assert Assert.AreEqual( redirectResult.RouteValues["action"], "Index" ); Assert.IsNull( newmodel ); } Is this overkill? Do I need to check to see if the record actually got deleted (as I already have Service and Repository tests that verify this)? Should I even use a fake repository here or would it make more sense just to mock the whole thing? The examples I'm looking at used this model of doing things, and I just copied it, but I'm really open to doing things in a "best practices" way. Thanks.

• How to get mouseposition when context menu appears?

  Hi. I have a panel which holds many pictureboxes. Each picturebox has registered "contextRightMenu" as their context menu. What i want when the context menu pops up is to get the current mouseposition. I have tried getting the mouseposition by using mouseDown and click, but these events happens after one of the items of the context menu is clicked, and that is too late. the popup event of the context menu does not deliver mouse event args, so i don't know how to get the mouseposition. If i can get mouse event args it is easy.   Is there a way to automatically insert code into a method? And I'm not sure how to insert fields into a class where I add the boolean field that tracks if the field has been modified or not before (for efficiency to prevent having to manipulate the Set): boolean isFirstNameChanged = false; It seems to most obvious answer to this would be to use code templates inside eclipse, but I'm concerned about having to go back and change the code later.

  I want to make a map-kind of container that has the following interface: public <T> Thing<T> get(Class<T> clazz); public <T> void put(Class<T> clazz, Thing<T> thing); The interesting point is that the Ts in each Class<T><- Thing<T> pair is the same T, but the container should be able to hold many different types of pairs. Initially I tried a (Hash)Map. But, for instance, Map<Class<T>, Thing<T>> is not right, because then T would be same T for all pairs in that map. Of course, Map<Class<?>, Thing<?>> works, but then I don't have type-safety guarantees so that when I get(String.class), I can't be sure that I get a Thing<String> instance back. Is there a way to accomplish the kind of type safety that I'm looking for?

• How do I push another viewController onto the navigationController from within a tabviewController?

  Hi, I have a project set up using these two tutorials. http://twilloapp.blogspot.com/2009/03/how-to-embed-navigation-controller.html and the link for the second tutorial is at the bottom of the first. The tutorial is slightly outdated but I managed to get it to work as advertised. Now I want to push a new detailedView onto the NavigationController when a user touches a row in the table view. So I added this to my MyTableViewController.m file. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { // Navigation logic may go here. Create and push another view controller. SecondViewController *detailViewController = [[SecondViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SecondViewController.xib" bundle:nil]; // ... // Pass the selected object to the new view controller. [self.navigationController pushViewController:detailViewController animated:YES]; [detailViewController release]; } Now when I run this project and touch a row in my table view I am getting an error: asm_Terminating_due_to_uncaught_exception IT seems to be having an issue loading the SecondViewController from nib, however I checked the detailViewController and it is not nil. I know I am missing something and it is more than likely something simple. Please help. Thanks, Bruce

• How do i set the proxy and SOCKs in libcurl?

  I am trying to configure my .NET app to use a proxy. My source is in C# but i learned CURL via C++. My question is where do i put the SOCKs IP and port? i looked through the documentation and didnt see it. I believe that is what is causing me these problems. When i run this code it will quiet literally timeout and not call my header function or writer function. If i comment out the first two curlopt lines (the two proxy lines) my code runs with no problems. In firefox i set the http proxy and SOCKs host separately, they are different IPs and ports.   I'm trying to upload a file using JavaFX using the HttpRequest. • Rows added to table are not showing up

  This has been asked before, but I have found no solution that worked for me yet: When adding rows to a table from code, the rows are not showing up in the application. There is one row I specified in XML, that one is showing up, but nothing below it. • Very strange client/browser issue

  One of our clients has logged a very strange issue with us- We launched a preview for their website, but when it's viewed on their main PC, peculiar things start to happen... At first, the stylesheet wasn't being found, and so accessing any page resulted in one void of all styles. We sent them a direct link to the stylesheet, which was viewable from all our computers in the office - but gave a "File Not Found" error on their side. I then deleted the file, and replaced it with a new blank file, which he could then access. Copy-pasted screen.css contents into this file, and he could then view it fine, and stylesheets magically worked on the site again. Now, he can view styles, but not the referenced header images. The strange thing is that this problem doesn't exist on any other PC we've tested, or on any other site on the problem computer, but obviously we'd like our client's site to work for them. The strange thing is, they can view other sites of ours, hosted on the same server, built on top of the same CMS (and so most of the files are the same) without problem - but are getting 404s for files that most definitely do exist. Stylesheets are not turned off, nor is anything specifically deactivated on their browser (as other sites are fine) Reloading with CTRL+F5 doesn't help The client is using the latest version of firefox Any ideas here on what to try / how to narrow the problem down?
