  • Force a page cache of Ajax content

    - by Webnet
    I have a page that is an search where the results are loaded via ajax. It then lists products on a page and you can click to view each product. I'd like to change this page where after you view a product if you click "back" on your browser it'll load the cache instead of forcing the user to search again. How can I achieve this? I currently have.... header('Cache-Control: private, max-age:3600'); header('Expires: '.gmdate('D, d M Y H:i:s \G\M\T', time() + 3600)); and it doesn't load the cache

  • doubt in - Function Objects - c++

    - by Eternal Learner
    I have a class class fobj{ public: fobj(int i):id(i) {} void operator()() { std::cout<<"Prints"<<std::endl; } private: int id; }; template<typename T> void func(T type) { type(); } My Doubt is if I invoke func like Method 1: func(fobj(1); the message I wanted to print is printed. I was always thinking I needed to do something like Method 2: fobj Iobj(1); // create an instance of the fobj class func(Iobj); //call func by passing Iobj(which is a function object) How does Method 1 work? I mean what exactly happens? and how is a call made to the operator() in class fobj ?

  • Obtaining Android Public Map API Key

    - by TheHighLifeSon
    I have been trying to obtain a public map api key for my Android app. However the public key that I receive from Google does not work. I have been using the following steps: Obtaining Release Public Map API Key 1.Obtain Private Key: Use Export of Eclipse to sign release application and create new keystore 2.Obtain MD5 certificate: using alias and keystore set up use keytool in Java directory: keytool -list -alias poly_alias -keystore copy MD5 certificate 3.Obtain API Map Key: Visit http://code.google.com/android/maps-api-signup.html and enter MD5 certificate copy key 4.Use New Map API Key: insert new map key for string in strings.xml for string mapApiKey Does anyone have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

  • How to split the definition of template friend funtion within template class?

    - by ~joke
    The following example compiles fine but I can't figure out how to separate declaration and definition of operator<<() is this particular case. Every time I try to split the definition friend is causing trouble and gcc complains the operator<<() definition must take exactly one argument. #include <iostream> template <typename T> class Test { public: Test(const T& value) : value_(value) {} template <typename STREAM> friend STREAM& operator<<(STREAM& os, const Test<T>& rhs) { os << rhs.value_; return os; } private: T value_; }; int main() { std::cout << Test<int>(5) << std::endl; }

  • Use this. to access internal class members?

    - by Sam
    On the internet I see a lot of code which uses this. to access local members of a class, like this: private String _whatever; public String Whatever { get { return this._whatever; } set { this._whatever = value; } } public void DoSomething() { String s = this.Whatever; this.DoSomething(); } (don't expect the code to do something sensible. I just wanted to show a few different uses for "this.") I wonder why to do this? To add more clarity to the source? Or is it just a waste of space?

  • Changing the context of a self-executing function

    - by TaylorMac
    This code is copied directly from: http://www.bennadel.com/blog/2264-Changing-The-Execution-Context-Of-Your-Self-Executing-Function-Blocks-In-JavaScript.htm // Set the singleton value to the return value of the self- // executing function block. var singleton = (function(){ // Declare a private variable. var message = "Stop playing with your context!"; this.getMessage = function(){ return( message ); }; // Return this object reference. return( this ); }).call( {} ); // alert the singleton message. alert( "Message:", singleton.getMessage()); ?My thought is that I can use this to better contain the variables and functions in my programs. However, when I try to run the code in a JSfiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/xSKHh/ It does not return the message. What am I missing?

  • loading data into each textbox line by line

    - by Kyle
    private void sessionText() { try { System.IO.TextReader r = new System.IO.StreamReader("saved.txt"); this.textBox1.Text = r.ReadLine(); r.Close(); } catch (Exception x) { MessageBox.Show("Exception " +x); } } It reads the line into textBox1 but now I'm expanding my application. I added 5 more textBoxes and now I'm trying to load the data in each one saved line by line. How can I load each line into the next textbox? Line 0 -> textBox1 Line 1 -> textBox2 Line 2 -> textBox3

  • class member access specifiers and binary code

    - by pdehaan
    I understand what the typical access specifiers are, and what they mean. 'public' members are accessible anywhere, 'private' members are accessible only by the same class and friends, etc. What I'm wondering is what, if anything, this equates to in lower-level terms. Are their any post-compilation functional differences between these beyond the high-level restrictions (what can access what) imposed by the language (c++ in this case) they're used in. Another way to put it - if this were a perfect world where programmers always made good choices (like not accessing members that may change later and using only well defined members that should stay the same between implementations), would their be any reason to use these things?

  • Exception for java Swing application?

    - by Rich Fluckiger
    For some reason this is locking up the java application. Did I handle the exception correctly? private void submitButtonActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { double amount, interest,rateCalc, a, b, c, payment; int years, months; while (true){ try{ amount = Double.valueOf(loanAmount.getText()); interest = Double.valueOf(interestRate.getText()); years = Integer.valueOf(loanYears.getText()); rateCalc = (interest/12); months = (years*12); a = Math.pow((1+rateCalc),months); b = (a*rateCalc); c = (a-1); payment = (amount *(b/c)); monthlyPayment.setText("Mortgage Payment $ = " + payment); } catch (NumberFormatException nfe){ javax.swing.JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "Please enter numbers and not letters"); return; } } } monthlyPayment returns to the java app.

  • Two phase Construction in C++

    - by tommieb75
    I have as part of assignment to look into a development kit that uses the "two-phase" construction for C++ classes: // Include Header class someFubar{ public: someFubar(); bool Construction(void); ~someFubar(); private: fooObject _fooObj; } In the source // someFubar.cpp someFubar::someFubar : _fooObj(null){ } bool someFubar::Construction(void){ bool rv = false; this->_fooObj = new fooObject(); if (this->_fooObj != null) rv = true; return rv; } someFubar::~someFubar(){ if (this->_fooObj != null) delete this->_fooObj; } Why would this "two-phase" be used and what benefits are there? Why not just instantiate the object initialization within the actual constructor?

  • Generated PersonController expects Authority to contain word ROLE

    - by Chip L
    I'm brand new to acegi and relatively new to Grails. I just followed the tutorial to set up a new role and a new user. Every time I saved the user (with a role checked), it saved the user information fine, but not the role associated with the user. I finally dug into the controller code that was generated, and noticed this: private void addRoles(person) { for (String key in params.keySet()) { if (key.contains('ROLE') && 'on' == params.get(key)) { Authority.findByAuthority(key).addToPeople(person) } } } So to be sure I was interpreting it correctly, I added the word ROLE to my authorties, and it worked like a charm. Am I missing something obvious, is this a bug, or.......? The examples showed simple role names like "user" or "manager".

  • Generic collection class?

    - by Mark
    Is there anyway I can do this? class TSOC<TCollection, TValue> : ICollection<TValue>, INotifyCollectionChanged where TCollection : ICollection { private TCollection<TValue> collection; } It doesn't like my definition of collection. I'd prefer the definition to look like TSOC<TCollection> where the user can pass in List<int> or something, but then I need to pull out the "int" to know what interface to implement.

  • How do I setup Eclipse to stop on the line an exception occured?

    - by Chris Persichetti
    Hi, How can I setup Eclipse to stop at the point an exception occurred. I have an Eclipse breakpoint setup to break on an exception. In the code example below, the problem I'm having is Eclipse tries to open the Integer source code. Is there any way to just have debugger break at the point shown in my code example? If I move down the stack trace, I will get to this line, it'd be nice if there's a way to do this without the "Source not found" window coming up. This can be done in Visual Studio, so it's driving me crazy not being able to find a way to do this in Eclipse. package com.test; public class QuickTest { public static void main(String[] args) { try { test(); } catch(NumberFormatException e) { System.out.println(e.getMessage()); } } private static void test() { String str = "notAnumber"; Integer.parseInt(str);//<----I want debugger to stop here } }

  • Asp.net static object behaviour

    - by Circadian
    I have the following class as part of an asp.net application. public sealed class SomeClass { private static string appId = Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); public static ReadSomethingFromDb(){} public static WriteSomethingToDb(){} } There are more than one application instances in the same application pool, and they all access the same database. I want the operations performed by the above class to be uniquely tied to the instance that performed it, hence the use of the appId. So adding a record to the database would for example contain a name, address and appId. This has been simplified for discussion purposes. Assuming that I have two instances running at mysite.a and mysite.b the above class would generate two different guids. My problem is that mysite.a sometimes produces more than one guid, which is unexpected. Thank you in advance

  • What does this java output mean?!

    - by Phil
    public class Arrys { private int[] nums; //Step 3 public Arrys (int arrySize) { nums = new int[arrySize]; } public int [] getNums (){ return nums; } } Test class: public class TestArrys { public static void main(String args[]) { //Step 4 Arrys arry = new Arrys(10); System.out.println("\nStep4 "); for(int index = 0; index < arry.getNums().length; index++) { System.out.print(arry.getNums()); } } } It's incredibly simple, that is why I think I'm doing something fundamentally wrong. All I want is to display the value of the array. This is what I get back. I am totally lost, there is nothing in my book that explains this nor does googling it help. • C++ destructor issue with std::vector of class objects

    - by Nigel
    I am confused about how to use destructors when I have a std::vector of my class. So if I create a simple class as follows: class Test { private: int *big; public: Test () { big = new int[10000]; } ~Test () { delete [] big; } }; Then in my main function I do the following: Test tObj = Test(); vector<Test> tVec; tVec.push_back(tObj); I get a runtime crash in the destructor of Test when I go out of scope. Why is this and how can I safely free my memory?

  • c# unicode string output

    - by Reg
    I have function to convert string to a Unicode string: private string UnicodeString(string text) { return Encoding.UTF8.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(text)); } But when I am calling this function the output result is wrong. It looks like my function is not working. Console.WriteLine(UnicodeString("????? ?????")) printing on console just questions like that: ????? ???? Is there any way to say to console to display it correct? UPDATE Looks like the problem not in Unicode, I think may be it is displaying question marks because i am not having correct locale in the system (Windows 7)? Is there any way to make it work without changing locale?

Specifically I would like to create a static method (CreateLink) in a base class (BasePage) to automatically return the path and filename of the page called. I code in .C# ASP.NET private const string TEMPLATE = "~/One.aspx"; public static HyperLink CreateLink() { HyperLink link = new HyperLink(); link.Text = "Click here"; link.NavigateUrl = String.Format(TEMPLATE); return link; } Is it possible to avoid the use of TEMPLATE hardcoded variable? Is it possible to retrieve the One.aspx path from file name and location?

    - by odiseh
    I have a winform which is responsible for doing a search by some conditions that users enters and then selects the records from a Database. The search form has a data grid view which shows the result. After searching, user clikcs on a row of the datagridview and then another form (for example frmShowDetails) will be displayed. My question is when displaying frmShowDetails, what are your suggestions to send the id of selected row to frmShowDetails in order to feed it to show data in .net? Do you use form property or a private mariable which sets by only form constructor? Thank you

  • FLEX: how to ignore MouseEvents from the container ?

    - by Patrick
    hi, I've some objects on the canvas, and I added eventListeners to these objects for MOUSE_UP event. I'm know checking if it works by tracing e.target.name, and I found out that the event is triggered twice, before on the element container (Canvas) and then the element itself. I read several times the documentation about Capture, Bubbling etc.. but I don't understand how to trigger the events only from the element itself... child.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, updateSelectedTags); private function updateSelectedTags(e:MouseEvent):void { Alert.show(e.currentTarget.name); //I have 2 alerts, one for canvas, the other one for the child } } thanks
