• Cannot delete a SharePoint web application

  What I have? I have normal web application and it has 3 site collections with name, "PDirectory". Other than this I have only Central administration web application in the farm. What I want? I want to delete that web application, "PDirectory". What problem am I facing? I am not able to delete the web application. I get below error when I try to delete it but, the site collections got deleted! Error: An object in the SharePoint administrative framework, "SPWebApplication Name=XXX Parent=SPWebService", could not be deleted because other objects depend on it. Update all of these dependants to point to null or different objects and retry this operation. • OTRS upgrade 3.0 to 3.1 fails

  Today I've started upgrading OTRS from version 2.3 to 2.4 , 2.4 to 3.0 and 3.0 to 3.1. Everything went smoothly except the upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 OTRS provides a few perl scripts which make the upgrade easier. I've used these scripts for each upgrade step. • To install Markdown's extensions by Python

  The installation notes (git://gitorious.org/python-markdown/mainline.git) say in the file using_as_module.txt One of the parameters that you can pass is a list of Extensions. Extensions must be available as python modules either within the markdown.extensions package or on your PYTHONPATH with names starting with mdx_, followed by the name of the extension. Thus, extensions=['footnotes'] will first look for the module markdown.extensions.footnotes, then a module named mdx_footnotes. See the documentation specific to the extension you are using for help in specifying configuration settings for that extension. I put the folder "extensions" to ~/bin/python/ such that my PYTHONPATH is the following export PYTHONPATH=/Users/masi/bin/python/:/opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/ The instructions say that I need to import the addons such that import markdown import <module-name> However, I cannot see any module in my Python. This suggests me that the extensions are not available as "python modules - - on [my] PYTHONPATH with names starting with mdx_ - -." How can you get Markdown's extensions to work? 2nd attempt I run at ~/bin/markdown git clone git://gitorious.org/python-markdown/mainline.git python-markdown cd python-markdown python setup.py install I put the folder /Users/masi/bin/markdown/python-markdown/build to my PATH because the installation message suggests me that is the new location of the extensions. I have the following in a test markdown -document [TOC] -- headings here with # -format --- However, I do not get the table of contents. This suggests me that we need to somehow activate the extensions when we compile by the markdown.py -script. **The problem returns to my first quoted text which I is rather confusing to me.

• WebSeal and jsp content updated by Ajax

  Hey, I have a problem running an application on environment with WebSeal. It is a web application with Java server that contains many parts that are replcaed within the page according to user input. For instance - a form called Outer.jsp may contain a form:options combo-box (by spring-forms), that uppon selection of an option, a certain Div is updated with a content produced by a jsp and fetched by an Ajax call (the ajax impementation in the client is done by Prototype JavaScript framework 1.5.1.2). Let's call the content fetched by ajax - Inner.jsp So Outer.jsp is fetching Inner.jsp, which in turn uses js functions in files included by the Outer.jsp. This, I think, is where my problem starts - Inner.jsp is not familiar with any of the functions included in Outer.jsp. And so, almost any operation performed by Inner.jsp is failing miserably. Needless to say - this works perfect when running on environment without WebSeal. Note that the scripting is enabled in WebSeal junction (with the -J option). I also see that the content returned by the Ajax call includes a document.cookie added by WebSeal (not sure it matters to this problem) Can anyone assist? Thanks! Lior

• Asterisk/FreePBX: Allow other Google Talk clients to ring when using motif module

  I've recently installed FreePBX to act as a link between a SIP soft phone and my Google Talk account. It was easy to set up and outbound calls work just fine, but I've run into two problems with inbound calls that I'm not sure how to resolve. I'm using an inbound route to forward all calls from Google to my soft phone. If the soft phone is not currently registered, Asterisk answers and immediately generates a fast-busy signal (reporting CHANUNAVAIL in the logs), and the call is lost. If the soft phone is registered, Asterisk "answers" the call before rining the soft phone, which means that other Google Talk clients never ring (since from their perspective someone has answered the call). For solving (1) seems like I could use the ChanIsAvail() function (or this answer) to prevent Asterisk from answering in the event that the phone isn't registered. However, I'm not sure what to do about (2), because the behavior I want is for Asterisk to not "answer" the call until I answer the call on the soft phone. How do I configure Asterisk (ideally within the FreePBX framework) such that I can continue to receive calls at other Google Talk clients in addition to forwarding them to a SIP phone?

• How to setup a virtual host in Ubuntu?

  I have an app that's accessible via 1.2.3.4/myapp. The app is installed in /var/www/myapp. I've set up a subdomain(apps.mydomain.com) that points to 1.2.3.4. I want the server to point to var/www/myapp if I type apps.mydomain.com/myapp, how do I do that? I have experience creating virtual hosts(lots of them) locally but I'm lost because it's now in production and it's a little different. • Swap space maxing out - JVM dying

  I have a server running 3 WordPress instances, MySql, Apache and the play framework 2.0 on 64m initial & max heap. If I increase the max heap of the JVM that play is running in even by 16m I see the 128m of swap space steadily fill up until the the JVM dies. I notice that it is only when I am plugging away at the wordpress sites that the JVM will die. I assume this is because the JVM is not asking for memory at the time so gets collected. I notice that when I restart Apache I reclaim about half of my swap and RAM. So is there some way I can configure apache to consume less memory? Also what could be causing the swap space to get so heavily thrashed with just 16m added to the max heap size of the JVM?   Trying to migrate data from C: to D: via the SBS console is failing. The wizard starts running but drops out in the first few seconds. Django's tagline is "The web framework for perfectionists with deadlines," and Satchmo's tagline is equally forceful: "The webshop for perfectionists with deadlines." I'm looking more to set up, configure, design, etc., rather than code for this one, and I'm taking a bit of a hint that for me at least the "with deadlines" bit is something that I cannot manage. Deployment has been a time sink. So, taking a step back, I don't specifically need to edit and extend the source code; what I want are first, good usability and a clean experience for the end-user, then being easy to deploy/install/manage/maintain, and enough so that even if you're having a slow day it should at most be one day's work to install, one day's work to get running, and one day's work to rebrand as white label (for simple branding). What ecommerce webshops should I be looking at?

  Today I lost the ability to see my Windows Server 2008 R2 shares from any of my 3 Windows XP machines in my small office. The 5 Win7 machines haven't been affected (they are still able to browse/access the 2008 server), but none of my WinXP machines can access the 2008R2 server anymore. Yesterday (and for the previous year) everything was working fine. I do not have a domain setup. I can still access Win7 shares from WinXP clients. • Windows 7 on an EEE PC 901 - Is it a practical change?

  I am currently running WinXP on my EEE PC 901, and I'm happy to say that it runs really well. But this did not come with out significant manipulation of the OS. Here's the basic steps I took: Install XP Modify registry to install Install bare essential drivers Relocate page file to d:\ (remember, this model has two SSD's, one roughly 3.6gb, and the other roughly 16gb - XP won't run on the bigger drive, only the smaller one) Install remaining drivers skip normal updates, install service pack 2 straight away. modify system registry to place service pack backup folder into new Program Files directory on D drive (where software is being installed). Change My Documents folder to sit on D drive. Install .net framework Install remaining updates and service pack 3 (the hidden backup folders in the c:\Windows directory are deleted after every update as well as the contents of the service pack downloads folder in order to continually free up space). I have also found that Disktrix UltimateDefrag to be brilliant at keeping the system clean and tidy. This is roughly the order I did things in. In this configuration the machine works really well. QUESTION: Can this kind of configuration be implemented with Windows 7 to achieve the same result on this machine? Thanks in advance. Dave.

• MMC crashes on Windows Server 2008 x64 - Exchange console, event viewer

  Help! I don't know what happened; this server has been very reliable but suddenly began having problems with a particular .NET 2.0 web site simply hanging - it wouldn't load at all. However, another ASP.NET site was still fine. Reinstalling the site didn't fix it, nor did deleting and re-creating the application within IIS. Trying the event viewer was met with a horrifying "Microsoft Management Console has stopped working". Some Googling led me to believe the .NET framework was the problem. I found a tool called the .NET cleanup tool - http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/8904493.aspx - which cleaned out .NET entirely. I reinstalled .NET 1.1 and 3.5 (which installed 2.0 and 3.0 as well). Using the .NET verification tool - http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/8999004.aspx - I believe these have all installed ok. However, my server is in worse shape now. The Exchange 2010 Management Console crashes with an MMC error and now my other (previously reliable) .NET web app now hangs on loading too. I thought I should use Computer Management to remove and re-add the application and web server roles but sure enough, MMC crashes. If anyone can help I will be extremely grateful. Thank you !

  Hi, I have a Telewell TW-EA510v4 ADSL modem+WLAN router configured as follows: Mode: 802.11b+g Security Mode: WPA1 Pre-shared Key WPA Algorithms: TKIP Connections from only certain MAC addresses have been allowed and the MAC address of my Mac is in that list. The WLAN works just fine with iPhone and an old Acer laptop. It has worked for about two months or so with my MacBook Pro (year and a half or so old model). Ocassionally i've had minor problems with it, which have required either reboot of ADSL modem or reboot of my Mac. However now, for the last week or so I haven't been able to connect to it at all. • .NET 2.0 "not installed" after upgrade to Windows 7

  I Recently upgraded to Windows 7 (Business) RTM from Vista Business and everything is going great, it fixed the BSOD I was getting and the performance of my laptop is improved. However; during the upgrade, something seems to have gone awry with my .NET 2.0 installation. When attempting to install FlashDevelop, I get the following error from the installer package You need to install Maicrtosoft.NET 2.0 runtime before installing FlasgDevelop. You Have . I have a previous release of FD installed from before the upgrade and this still works fine. So I gave up on the new version of FD and got on with my day. Then I tried to install the Microsoft SQL Server Database Publishing Wizard 1.1 and that says I am missing a couple of prerequisites, one of which is .NET 2.0. When I download the .NET 2.0 runtime the installer fails, telling me that This product is already installed as part of the operating system. Does anyone have any idea how to make my computer recognise that .NET 2 is in fact installed. UPDATE I've checked Windows Features and everything relating to .NET is already installed. I've also been through my list of installed programs looking for .NET to in an attempt to uninstall it but it isn't there. In fact, the only thing that looks like a .NET distro that I am able to uninstall is the 3.5 Compact Framework.

Mail.app correctly displays all e-mails on my IMAP server, except for the e-mails in my "Sent Messages" folder.   I'm trying to bind a IIS web site (Team Foundation Services 2010) to a subdomain, which is causing authentication errors. First I'll explain what I've done to set it up. This is the fist time I do this, so please correct me if I'm wrong. The web server is a stand-alone Windows Server 2008 R2 x64, running IIS7 with .NET Framework 4. I have the following A-records, pointing to my server: server.mydomain.com *.server.mydomain.com So all subdomains of server.mydomain.com points to the server. In IIS7 I have a web site (TFS 2010) on port 8080, with a virtual directory (named tfs) that is using Windows Authentication. I have one binding on the web site pointing to all unassigned IP addresses, port 8080 and having a host name of tfs.server.mydomain.com. Now, shouldn't I be able to access the virtual directory through: http://tfs.server.mydomain.com/tfs That is not working. However, I can access it through: http://tfs.server.mydomain.com:8080/tfs But, it won't let me authenticate using a Windows account (Server\Username). A windows account that I can authenticate with, when accessing the site through http://localhost:8080/tfs. What am I missing here?

  I have a FoxPro 2.6 (16-bit) application that I've installed on a Win2008 (32-bit) Terminal Server. I then created a Remote App from it. It works fine. The problem is that within this FoxPro application it calls out to a .Net application. I have the proper .Net Framework installed on the server (2.0) and I have run the code access security policy tool (caspol.exe). However, when I launch the .Net app from within the FoxPro application I get the following error: Description: Stopped working Problem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: vector.exe Problem Signature 02: 1.0.0.3 Problem Signature 03: 48b579f2 Problem Signature 04: vector Problem Signature 05: 1.0.0.3 Problem Signature 06: 48b579f2 Problem Signature 07: f Problem Signature 08: 57 Problem Signature 09: System.Security.Security OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.18.10 Locale ID: 1033 Vector.exe is our .Net application. In fact, it's an in-between application that checks to ensure you have the latest version. When it's done it calls out to another .Net executable. Does anyone believe this should be a problem? • What's wrong with this HTTP POST request?

  I'm trying to fuzz a server using the Sulley fuzzing framework. I observe the following stream in Wireshark. The error talks about a problem with JSON parsing, however, when I try the same HTTP POST request using Google Chrome's Postman extension, it succeeds. Can anyone please explain what could be wrong about this HTTP POST request? The JSON seems valid. • Android failure to boot on LG [migrated]

  I need to recover data from my AT&T LG Thrill Android Phone Background: My AT&T LG Thrill phone's battery died a couple of days ago because I forgot to charge it. When I charged the phone and tried to turn it on, it showed the LG logo followed by the dropping balls and the AT&T "Rethink Possible" screen. I then get a mesage that the Application Google Services Framework has crashed and the phone goes into a loop with the dropping balls showing again followed by "Rethink Possible" screen. This sequence repeats itself over and over and the phone does not get out of this loop. I have been able to go into the recovery screen (both Safe Mode and the Android Recovery Service) and have cleared cache, etc. However, I DO NOT want to wipe user data and restore to factory settings as this will wipe all of my data (pictures, application data, etc). Solution Needed: I need a suggestion to a way of accessing my data so that I can back it up onto an SD card/computer. I DO NOT want to root the phone as this may void the warranty. What I'm looking for is a way of perhaps putting the original flash image on the micro SD card and then have the phone read that image. Or some other similar solution that will get the phone out of this loop and allow me to get to the data.

• Amazon CloudFront and EC2: Global Load Balancing

  We have an app that is going to store and serve up a decent amount of data in S3 to a global audience where latency should be minimized. So, we've been doing tests with Amazon CloudFront and have seen favorable results. However, we need a thin middleware layer (to do security etc.) and we'd like to put that in EC2. Due to security restrictions, this middleware layer will do the file streaming from S3/CloudFront: S3/CloudFront - EC2 - Clients We can geographically distribute the EC2 nodes (US East/West, and Ireland) but the problem is that a client in the EU would hit our US server and be fed data from there, thus rendering much of the performance benefit of CloudFront moot. I've been digging through the EC2 docs but I can't find a built-in way to get a geographically distributed version of EC2 a la CloudFront. Elastic Load Balancing sounds like the way to go, but I can't seem to find a way with that to direct based on routing... Preferably, we'd like to keep the amount of stuff outside of EC2/S3/etc. to a minimum (for obvious reasons). Any ideas how to do that within the EC2/S3 framework? DNS/routing tricks? Thanks!
