  Hi! all, I am writing an application for video streaming.In the application server is required to know the distance of the client from it self in terms of hop number.My question is,is there any tool/method other than traceroute available in unix environment to find it? I also need to find out the geographical location of the client.So is their any tool/method for this as well? Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mawia

  The Core Data Programming Guide talks a lot about what not to overwrite. So the question is: What is good to overwrite? Like I see it, I can't overwrite -init or -initWithEntity:insertIntoManagedObjectContext: So where else would be a good overwrite point to set up some basic stuff? Or is it generally not needed to do custom initialization? Does the whole thing rely only on accessing properties which then start to do fancy things? So no custom initializations?

  Hey, im using a connection to a server in my php script, opened with fsockopen() and i want it to share between different pages so i serialized it and saved it in a session variable but it seems that that ia a bad idea because when i do this nothing happens... Not even an error. The problem is that this connection requires a handshake so i cant reconnect everytime Another question, whats the timeout of fsockopen or does the connection stay alive if the. original php script which called it is closed?

  Hi, My application creates two views: topView (CGRect = 0,0, 320,60) bottomView (CGRect = 0,60, 320,480) Bottom view creates UITabBarController with UIViewControllers: ListViewController etc... ListViewController has own views that are created in viewDidLoad method: background = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame: rect ]; So my question is how to get the bottomView rect inside ListViewController?
