  • One label, two different fonts?

    I need to format text in a label like this: username: some text from this user. This will create additional lines of text that will go on and on and on. Where "username" is bold. This will go into a UILabel, which is in a custom table cell. Is there a way to get this type of layout?

  • UITableView scrollable background , UITableViewCell transparency

    Hi! In my UITableView I have custom cells. My UITableView have a repeatable background myTableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage: [UIImage imageNamed: @"backg.png"]]; I set my cells to have their background (clear); UIView *backView = [[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero] autorelease]; backView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; cell.backgroundView = backView; This makes the cell have the same background as the TableView.. Problem is; That seems that every cell loads myTableView.backgroundColor once again. And the background are not being repeatble as it should. I want to have the cells totally with no background at all, instead they loads up myTableView.backgroundColor once again. Here is one example. Can anyone help me?

  • Finding user location before map loads

    I'm trying to find the user's location using: CLLocationCoordinate2D _location; CLLocation *userLoc = nil; if(appDelegate.clLocationManager.locationServicesEnabled){ userLoc = mapView.userLocation.location; _location = userLoc.coordinate; } The problem is that I haven't yet initialized the map so the above doesn't work. Is there a way to get the user's location without using mapkit? Or should I be using a different technique?

  • Why does UIActionSheet cancel crahes my App?

    I try to use the UIActionSheet within my iPhone App but have the following problem. When I tap the cancel button "I don't", the app crashes. When I remove the NSLog statement from the actionSheet:clickedButtonAtIndex: it does not. The "Yes, do it" button works just fine and I see the log statement in the console.   • Error : Number of Rows In Section in UITableView in iPhone SDK

    I am getting this error while I am trying to load the data into my table view. Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Invalid update: invalid number of rows in section 0. The number of rows contained in an existing section after the update (73) must be equal to the number of rows contained in that section before the update (71), plus or minus the number of rows inserted or deleted from that section (3 inserted, 0 deleted). What could be wrong? But I want to override this and give the user the option to override the number of digits after the decimal separator.   • Displaying a "Loading..." screen in a UITableView like the AppStore App...

    the App Store app and fairly a lot many apps display a view that says "Loading.." while the content is being retrieved. How can we do this? Should I remove the UITableView and call addSubView and then once the data is available, add the tableview back? Or is there any other shortcut?     I have an iOS application for which I want to create a ViewController programmatically. I started an empty XCode project and modified the main method so it looks like this int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; int retVal = UIApplicationMain(argc, argv, nil, @"MyAppDelegate_iPad"); [pool release]; return retVal; } The app is a Universal Application, MyAppDelegate_iPad is a subclass of MyAppDelegate, which is a subclass of NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate>. My problem is that the applicationDidFinishLoading method I've overridden in MyAppDelegate_iPad is never called (break point on the first line never hits). The method looks like this -(void) applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { window = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; if(!window) { [self release]; return; } window.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; rootController = [[MyViewController alloc] init]; [window addSubview:rootController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [window layoutSubviews]; } I removed the line to link to a nib file from my plist file (I used to get the default "My Universal app on iPad" white screen) and now all that is displayed is a black screen. applicationDidFinishLoading is still not being called. Am I doing something wrong? How should I properly create my AppDelegate instance?

  • Strange behavior: save video recorded within app?

    I allow the user to record a video within my app, then later play it again. When a user records a video, I save the URL of the video, then play the video later from the saved URL. I save the video both in the Photos app and in my app. If I delete the video within the photos app, it still plays. After about 7 days, the video gets deleted. I think I am saving in my tmp directory, but i'm not sure.   • Locating the UIView that UITableView scrolls over

    Hi all, I'm working on trying to obtain the UIView that UITableView scrolls over, if scrolling is enabled. Typically, the background is white, and if you push the UITableView out of its bounds, you'll see a background. I'm trying to set this background to a UIColor of blackColor. I can't seem to find the appropriate one to tag. I've tried the following code in my UIViewController: - (void)loadView { [super loadView]; UITableView *aTableView = [[[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.bounds style:UITableViewStylePlain] autorelease]; [aTableView setScrollEnabled:YES]; [self.view setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blackColor]]; [self.view addSubview:aTableView]; self.tableView = aTableView; } The color still stays white. Seems I'm hitting the wrong UIView. Any idea? Thanks.
