• HTTP redirect fallback

  Hi, Is there a way to provide fallback URL when HTTP redirect times out? What I'm trying to achieve is that when I hit the original url, I would respond with HTTP redirect (300, 307?) giving the browser new URL and the fallback URL in case the new URL times out? I was also considering doing this client side but it just does not seem to be very effective (in terms of speed, client support). What I would do is probably have a tiny 1x1px image on each server, try loading it and then check with javascript which server is up and redirect there. Any other ideas? Thanks

• Carrier Wave not completing upload to Rackspace Cloud Files

  Hello, I have been attempting to get file uploads to Rackspace Cloud Files online all night, and finally tried the Carrierwave Plugin. Although the plugin worked right away, when I tried viewing the file uploaded (an image) it was broken. Upon further testing, I found out that files would upload to Cloud Files, however were just a fraction of their original size. I can't seem to figure out what's worng, and any help would be greatly appreciated. What would be the fix for this? • :focus in IE not working

  Hey, I've created a site with CSS that requires the :focus pseudo class. I change the 'filter' and 'background-image' effects when a textbox is selected (i.e. has focus). This works in Chrome/FF, but doesn't seem to work in IE8 (and, presumable, previous versions if IE). I tried to look for answers, and have tried to use :active - but that doesn't work. Is there a way of changing attributes such as 'filter' using psuedo-classes? Failing that, can I do it in JS with the OnClick event? Thanks

  I've used the "FeatureList" Jquery Plugin to make my own content slider. The script can be found here: http://pastebin.com/7iyE5ADu Here is an exemplificative image to show what I'm triyng to achieve: http://i41.tinypic.com/6jkeq1.jpg Actually the slider add a "current" class to an item (in the example the squares 1,2 and 3) and for each thumb show a content in the main area. In the example, with an interval of 2 seconds, the script switch from 1 to 2, from 2 to 3, and so on. I'd like to make a continuous animation of the thumbs, anyone can help me?

  I use Tinymce with BBcodes plugin so the tags used in the editor are [B] [U] [I] [quote] [color]. If you are familiar with TinyMce there is a great option to filter all unwanted tags when pasting to the editor. Unfortunately i think this is not working for BBcodes mode, what i want is to remove any <TAGS> Or Other Unwanted BBcodes such as [url] & [img] So, my white list is : [B] [U] [I] [quote] [color=XXXXXX]. I'm already filtering in the server side, but i want this to be implemented in the client side too, So by example if someone copied from a webpage a mix of images and urls and formatted text, every image will be stripped and every url will be "unclickable" directly after pasting. • Something like Crystal Reports for PHP?

  I'm looking for something that works in PHP and is similar to crystal reports. I basically need to have a layout setup that means I can output invoices just by inserting the data, and then send it to a printer. The closest I've found so far is PDFB, but It's a bit of a pain as it needs to have precise positioning. I'd like to have something that could generate an invoice based on a template (preferably XML based) and then output it to a form easy for us to print (PostScript would be nice!) It needs to have support for barcodes too (though these can be generated as a GD image) Another requirement is that this must be FLOSS

  I have a function foo that takes a NxM numpy array as an argument and returns a scalar value. I have a AxNxM numpy array data, over which I'd like to map foo to give me a resultant numpy array of length A. Curently, I'm doing this: result = numpy.array([foo(x) for x in data]) It works, but it seems like I'm not taking advantage of the numpy magic (and speed). Is there a better way? I've looked at numpy.vectorize, and numpy.apply_along_axis, but neither works for a function of 2D arrays. EDIT: I'm doing boosted regression on 24x24 image patches, so my AxNxM is something like 1000x24x24. What I called foo above applies a Haar-like feature to a patch (so, not terribly computationally intensive).

  I have a list of Accommodation objects bound to a Repeater, and then a nested Repeater which has the various attendee groups listed [e.g. Default, Seniors, Juniors]. This is all output fine, with the values displayed as LinkButtons, which when clicked gets sent to a code-behind event handler. Here is an example of the output to give you a picture [with some er... interesting attendee group names]: In the event handler, I test the object parameter to see which Repeater has been sent, as the outer repeater's links can also be clicked [so the Accommodation would be set, but no Attendee Group]. Is there a way to get a HiddenField from the outer RepeaterItem that contains the currently clicked inner repeater's LinkButton? E.g. From the image, I click the Attending link in the Women section. So the EventArgs via FindControl can get me the hidden field which contains the Attendee Group's ID, which is good, but I also need the Accommodation ID [to know whether it was either Wimbledon Hotel Inn or New Acc]

  I have a png image of the earth which I'm trying to add an OuterGlowBitmapEffect to. I've done something similar with a simple Elipse, but BitmapImage doesn't seem to allow a BitmapEffect to be applied to it. The following XAML isn't valid, but is there a valid way of doing this? <BitmapImage UriSource="/Media/earth.png"> <BitmapImage.BitmapEffect> <OuterGlowBitmapEffect GlowColor="Cyan" GlowSize="10" /> </BitmapImage.BitmapEffect> </BitmapImage> The png in question is the top half of the earth and has a transparent background.   I am plotting a simple pair of subplots in matplotlib that are for some reason unevenly centered. The top and bottom plots are unevenly centered. I'd like their yaxis to be aligned and their boxes to be aligned. If I remove the plt.colorbar() call, the plots become centered. How can I have the plots centered while the colorbar of pcolor is still shown?   I'm attempting to take an NSImage and convert it to a string which I can write in an XML document. My current attempt looks something like this: [xmlDocument setCharacterEncoding: @"US-ASCII"]; NSData* data = [image TIFFRepresentation]; NSString* string = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:data encoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; //Put string inside of NSXMLElement, write out NSXMLDocument. Reading back in looks something like this: NSXMLDocument* newXMLDocument = [[NSXMLDocument alloc] initWithData:data options:0 error:outError]; //Here's where it fails. I get: //Error Domain=NSXMLParserErrorDomain Code=9 UserInfo=0x100195310 "Line 7: Char 0x0 out of allowed range" I assume I'm missing something basic. What's up with this encoding issue?
