• Does Ivy's url resolver support transitive retrieval?

  For some reason I can't seem to resolve the dependencies of my dependencies when using a url resolver to specify a repository's location. However, when using the ibiblio resolver, I am able to retrieve them. However, when attempting to exclusively use the "custom-repo" or "ibiblio-mirror" resolvers, I am able to resolve my project's two explicitly defined dependencies, but not checkstyle's dependencies. • Adding an overlay to Google maps with path taken

  Hi, I am trying to write a class to track a person's location(s), and to draw the path they've taken on a MapView. This feature of the program is for the user to track their speed, distance, path, etc. while running/cycling (or whatever else) using their Android phone. This is my first Android application, and I am not sure how to do the Overlay object for the MapView. I also wanted to see if anyone had opinions on the GPS-Tracking part I have written (if it would work, if there is a better way of doing it, code examples would be helpful).   I seem to be having trouble with the linkify I am using in my Custom Adapter. • spring-nullpointerexception- cant access autowired annotated service (or dao) in a no-annotations class

  I have this problem that I cannot fix. From my @Controller, i can easily access my autowired @Service class and play with it no problem. But when I do that from a separate class without annotations, it gives me a NullPointerException. My Controller (works)- @Controller public class UserController { @Autowired UserService userService;... My separate Java class (not working)- public final class UsersManagementUtil { @Autowired UserService userService; or @Autowired UserDao userDao; userService or userDao are always null! Was just trying if any one of them works.   I have an application which has a potentially long running background process. I want this process to populate a TableView as results objects are generated. The results objects are added to an observableList and have properties which are bound to the columns in the usual fashion for JavaFX. Is this good practise in JavaFx and if not what is the correct strategy? If you hit the the 'Update' button the list will not always refresh to the ITEM_COUNT length. I believe this is because the observableList.clear() is interfering with the update which is running in the background thread. Can anyone shed some light on this?

• Need help with writing from XML to a SQL Server database (detailed)

  I'm a bit of a newbie with XML and WebServices and stuff like that. I'm working on a project using GlassFish OpenESB to schedule a process to get some information from a webservice and then store in a database. The criteria is basically that i have to use GlassFish OpenESB or EJB modules where i can expose webservices or something along those lines, AND i have to use SQL Server 2005. So in short how can I insert from this XML into the DB preferably without manually walking through the XML tree? I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be able to use Entity and Session Beans or maybe JAXB bindings but I'm simply not being successful. One of the reasons might have something to do with the fact that the soap response contains an array of CreditCardSettlements and each of which contains an array of Batches and DeductionItems It would be best if someone can help me do this via a BPEL in GlassFish OpenESB but any hint at a java solution is much appreciated.

• Unable to use getInt() but able to use getString() for a sqlite database

  I am using a cursor to access a sqlite database I have in my app. I am having trouble using the .getInt() on my database. My database is pre-created, and I have a few cursors that perform queries to interface with the information. Several of the columns in one of the tables are set as INTEGER type. I realize that sqlite has no built in check to make sure columns are indeed INT. However, when retrieving the data, I can use the .getString() function without any issues, but calling .getInt() causes the app to crash. Below is the relevant code.   Hi I've been fighting these wireless drivers for a few days and just recently i noticed that the model the Wireless controller appears in lspci is different sometimes.   Is there a way to determine the speed of the PCI Express connection to a specific card? I have three cards plugged in: two Nvidia GTX 480's (one at x16 & and one at x8) one Nvidia GTX 460 running at x8 Is there some way, either by a function call in C or an option to lspci that I can determine the bus speed of the graphics cards? When I only use one of the cards for my CUDA program, I'd like to use the one which is running at x16. Thanks! Note: lspci -vvv dumps out For the two GTX 480s.   I'm trying to configure an ejb3 sample application, it's entities where mapped to postgres now I want the app run on Jboss4.3 and Informix using JPA.   Has anyone seen JavaMail not sending proper MimeMessages to an SMTP server, depending on how the JVM in started? At the end of the day, I can't send JavaMail SMTP messages with Subject: or From: fields, and it appears other headers are missing, only when running the app as a war. The web project is built with Maven and I'm testing sending JavaMail using a browser and a simple mail.jsp to debug and see different behavior when launching the app with: 1) mvn jetty:run (mail sends fine, with proper Subject and From fields) 2) mvn jetty:run-war (mail sends fine, but missing Subject, From, and other fields) I've meticulously run diff on the (verbose) Maven debug output (-X), and there are zero differences in the runtime dependencies between the two. I've also compared System properties, and they are identical. Something else is happening the jetty:run-war case that changes the way JavaMail behaves. What other stones need turning? Curiously, I've tried a debugger in both situations and found that the javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage instance is getting created differently. The webapp is using Spring to send email picked off of an Apache ActiveMQ queue. When running the app as mvn jetty:run the MimeMessage.contentStream variable is used for message content. When running as mvn jetty:run-war, the MimeMessage.content variable is used for the message contents, and the content = ASCIIUtility.getBytes(is); call removes all of the header data from the parsed content. Since this seemed very odd, and debugging Spring/ActiveMQ is a deep dive, I created a simplified test without any of that infrastructure: just a JSP using mail-1.4.2.jar, yet the same headers are missing. Also of note, these headers are missing when running the WAR file under Tomcat 5.5.27. Tomcat behaves just like Jetty when running the WAR, with the same missing headers. With JavaMail debugging turned on, I clearly see different output. For a reference, in site http://pear.php.net/package/Var_Dump/ you can find the code (in PHP) that generates dumps in XML, so all neeeded logic is there (I think). • handling refrence to pointers/double pointers using SWIG [C++ to Java]

  My code has an interface like class IExample { ~IExample(); //pure virtual methods ...}; a class inheriting the interface like class CExample : public IExample { protected: CExample(); //implementation of pure virtual methods ... }; and a global function to create object of this class - createExample( IExample *& obj ) { obj = new CExample(); } ; Now, I am trying to get Java API wrapper using SWIG, the SWIG generated interface has a construcotr like - IExample(long cPtr, boolean cMemoryOwn) and global function becomes createExample(IExample obj ) The problem is when i do, IExample exObject = new IExample(LogFileLibraryJNI.new_plong(), true /*or false*/ ); createExample( exObject ); The createExample(...) API at C++ layer succesfully gets called, however, when call returns to Java layer, the cPtr (long) variable does not get updated. Ideally, this variable should contain address of CExample object. I read in documentation that typemaps can be used to handle output parameters and pointer references as well; however, I am not able to figure out the suitable way to use typemaps to resolve this problem, or any other workaround. Please suggest if i am doing something wrong, or how to use typemap in such situation?

  We are using Quartz with Spring and our configuration is throwing deadlocks when quartz has more than 1 thread configured. I'm starting to believe that it's because we don't have our quartz configured correctly with Spring, but I can't find enough documentation on how to configure the two to play nicely. We are running on both Windows and Linux environments - pointing at MSSQL and Oracle DBs. With both OS, using either DB, we can throw the following deadlock errors... If I do it right after again it always works. So it appears to be related to timing or something. The code in question is: (defn add-track [t] (common/ref-add tracks t)) (defn add-collection [coll] (doseq [track coll] (add-track track))) and (defn ref-add [ref value] (dosync (ref-set ref (conj @ref value)))) where coll is extracted from this function: (defn tracks-by-album [album] (sort sort-tracks (filter #(= (:album %) album) @tracks))) so it does appear to be the tracks-by-album function from the stack trace. I just don't see why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

• Rails: Single Table Inheritance and models subdirectories

  I have a card-game application which makes use of Single Table Inheritance. I have a class Card, and a database table cards with column type, and a number of subclasses of Card (including class Foo < Card and class Bar < Card, for the sake of argument). As it happens, Foo is a card from the original printing of the game, which Bar is a card from an expansion. In an attempt to rationalise my models, I have created a directory structure like so: app/ + models/ + card.rb + base_game/ + foo.rb + expansion/ + bar.rb And modified environment.rb to contain: Rails::Initializer.run do |config| config.load_paths += Dir["#{RAILS_ROOT}/app/models/**"] end However, when my reads a card from the database, Rails throws the following exception: ActiveRecord::SubclassNotFound (The single-table inheritance mechanism failed to locate the subclass: 'Foo'. This error is raised because the column 'type' is reserved for storing the class in case of inheritance. Please rename this column if you didn't intend it to be used for storing the inheritance class or overwrite Card.inheritance_column to use another column for that information.) Is it possible to make this work, or am I doomed to a flat directory structure?

The ones using "curl" are easy, but i also have a Nutch crawl that uses the "solrindex" command to push data into Solr. Is it possible to tell commons-httpclient about a credential without explicitly doing an _httpclient.getState().setCredentials(...)? Anyother ideas? One idea i had was to use an IPfiltering Valve for just the "update" Solr webservices. That would mean you could only make an update call from certain nodes. Thanks

• RichFaces demo dataTableScrollerBean.java location

  Hello, I've noticed from here that the contents is only the header Revision 16532: /tags/3.3.2.SR1/samples/richfaces-demo/src/main/java/org/richfaces/demo/dataTableScroller and no listing of the dataTableScrollerBean.java file which the Edit Table/Modal Panel demo JSF code refers to. Where can I access it? I'd like to try the demo out on my machine. I've posted to RichFaces but SO tends to respond faster. Thanks Mark EDIT I've found some code (here) on a forum fortunately which is as close as I've come so far. Looks like it was written by one of the RichFaces authors, but when I included it, Eclipse is complaining about the Facet object which together with another forum and these import javax.ejb.Stateful; import javax.ejb.Stateless; suggest I may be missing j2ee.jar. But I'm running this out of Tomcat which is not an ejb container. I didn't think this RichFaces component required JBoss or equivalent so I must be doing something wrong. All I'm trying to do is try out an Edit Table! Thanks

  I have a Hibernate Entity: @Entity class Foo { //... @Lob public byte[] getBytes() { return bytes; } //.... } My VM is configured with a maximum heap size of 512 MB. When I try to persist an object which has a 75 MB large object, I get an OutOfMemoryError. The names of the methods in the stack trace (StringBuilder, ByteArrayBlobType.toLoggableString, pretty.Printer.toString) suggest that hibernate is trying to write a very large log message that contains my object. Am I correct about why hibernate is using so much memory?
