  few days ago while ubuntu 12.04 was doing a common system uodate , my laptop turned off in the middle of process , due to bad ac power. Since then , i can only login but nothing else. A message about compiz appear , but mouse keyboard , icons , unity are not working. the only thing i was able to do is a boot-repear ,as discribed in ubuntu's site, but neither this helped. That cannot be true then for 12.04 because Debian Stable (Squeeze) is almost going to be old-stable, and it's obvious that the kernel versions in 12.04, packages, etc. cannot have come from Debian Squeeze. So then what other Debian Stable is there for Precise to be based on?

It is easily accessible from the GNOME desktop Places menu: I just click that Filesystem HDD icon on the Places menu and it is automatically mount as '/media/1326f40a-45df-4ec'. How do I make that partition re-mount as /home instead? (permanently, that is)

  just got HP DV6-6145dx Notebook: - AMD Quad-Core A8-3500M Accelerated Processor - 8GB DDR3 SDRAM - AMD Radeon HD 6620G well i removed every thing that related to windows " system, hidden partitions " so that i wont need them. so, i tried to install ubuntu 12.04 64bit and i got a lot of error and crashes -- gives me that ubuntu has an error "executable bath" from the beginning after boot -- other one that said ubuntu installation process crashed and some times the words converted to squares and can't continuing the installation process at all on the other hand i tried the 32bit version, and every thing went smoothly need your help thanks

  hi all, Am running asp.net,c# application with sql server 2005. I got some problems with database tables.I got an inconsistency errors in some tables.I tried to run the below dbcc command to remove the inconsistent datas; DBCC CHECKTABLE ('Customer',repair_allow_data_loss) WITH ALL_ERRORMSG At first i run DBCC CHECKTABLE ('Customer') it is working.but now it is not working, i got an error as Cannot find a table or object with the name "Customer". I installed compiz through Ubuntu Software centre and then I searched and found that there is no option called "Windows Preview" in it !
