  • 12.04 - Make Workspaces use the expose feature of compiz

    I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and I just wanted to know if there's a possible way to use the "expose" feature found in CompizConfig Settings Manager as the "Workspaces" icon in the Unity Launcher? I know this feature is great but using Workspaces LAGS A LOT for me, However using Super+S to show up expose works smoothly without lag, is there anyway to use it instead of Workspaces and use expose in replace of it?

    I'm going to teach teenagers some C++ code. I need an editor which is simple and has built in compiler. We tried CodeBlocks but when we installed it in the machines, the text got reversed, I'm not sure what the reaoson is. I would be great if the file size of the editor will not be large. We need just simple features: -Text highlight. -Compile and run. -easy to use -Should run on Windows XP.

  • XNA move from start position to target position exactly in 3D

    If I have a list of positions that map out a path a character should follow. What would be the best way to move at a constant speed to each position making sure the character lands exactly at each position before moving onto the next? For example the character is at position A, we then queue up position B and position C. The character cannot move towards position C until it reaches position B exactly. It would be great if the solution worked at slower frame rates/update speeds as well.

  • Minecraft mob spawning coding?

    I recently discovered how to change the game (with MCP) and now I'd like to do my first "big" change to the game, creating new mobs. I already made their skin, the model, the AI and added a new entityID to the mob list. I just need to know how to make them spawn normally under similar conditions to zombies and skeletons.     Besides finance (front-office/high frequency trading) developer roles, are there any other very well paid programming roles, specifically for C++ or Java? One particular industry I would find interesting is the energy industry? However, I completed an internship for one of the massive energy companies and their "IT department" was nothing more than Microsoft Access- they outsourced all the technical work to IBM and Accenture. EDIT: USD 110k+ Defense would sounds great except the fact I am not a US citizen :)

    I know basic stuff like, what are beans, jsp, servlet, jsf and how this stuff should work together. I know how to make basic jsp page with database query for example. Now I need to know what is the best path to learn all this stuff. My plan is to learn in this order: jsp (including persistance and JSTL) servlets + beans jsf The jump to frameworks (hibernate, struts, spring, etc) Also I'm not exactly sure about JSF, is it a must to make great pages or is it just a convenience to know?

  • No firmware found for b43 wireless controlloer (BCM4318) on a Dell Latitude D610

    Trying to get my 03:03.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02) working. I just reformated and installed 12.04 on this old Windows XP machine, and I don't know where to get the firmware for this. This is what I got when I typed sudo lshw -c network: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/1041161/ Also, when I go to additional drivers in the system settings, no proprietary drivers show up. Any help I can get on this would be Great, Thanks!

So I was pleased to see SP1 is now available for download.Sure enough the issues have been fixed and it's once more a great tool!The data mapper can also now be run from the command line (this was a little limiting before as you had to open the IDE to run the mapping) and the Help now contains full documentation.#

  • SSIS Basics: Using the Merge Join Transformation

    SSIS is able to take sorted data from more than one OLE DB data source and merge them into one table which can then be sent to an OLE DB destination.
