  Hi, i keep on getting ActiveRecord::MissingAttributeError errors randomly everywhere in my program. i have passenger (30 instances) running with nginx. i don't have this problem in dev. • Android "Trying to use recycled bitmap" error?

  Hi all, I am running into a problem with bitmaps on an Android application I am working on. What is suppose to happen is that the application downloads images from a website, saves them to the device, loads them into memory as bitmaps into an arraylist, and displays them to the user. This all works fine when the application is first started. However, I have added a refresh option for the user where the images are deleted, and the process outlined above starts all over. My problem: By using the refresh option the old images were still in memory and I would quickly get OutOfMemoryErrors. Thus, if the images are being refreshed, I had it run through the arraylist and recycle the old images. However, when the application goes to load the new images into the arraylist, it crashes with a "Trying to use recycled bitmap" error. As far as I understand it, recycling a bitmap destroys the bitmap and frees up its memory for other objects. If I want to use the bitmap again, it has to be reinitialized. I believe that I am doing this when the new files are loaded into the arraylist, but something is still wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating. The problem code is below. My one sticking point is that the placeholder does not work at all in IE 7 when using item:TR . It works OK in FF. I can make an perform correctly. • Error using httlib's HTTPSConnection with PKCS#12 certificate

  Hello. I'm trying to use httplib's HTTPSConnection for client validation, using a PKCS #12 certificate. I know the certificate is good, as I can connect to the server using it in MSIE and Firefox. Here's my connect function (the certificate includes the private key). I've pared it down to just the basics: def connect(self, cert_file, host, usrname, passwd): self.cert_file = cert_file self.host = host self.conn = httplib.HTTPSConnection(host=self.host, port=self.port, key_file=cert_file, cert_file=cert_file) self.conn.putrequest('GET', 'pathnet/,DanaInfo=200.222.1.1+') self.conn.endheaders() retCreateCon = self.conn.getresponse() if is_verbose: print "Create HTTPS connection, " + retCreateCon.read() (Note: No comments on the hard-coded path, please - I'm trying to get this to work first; I'll make it pretty afterwards. The hard-coded path is correct, as I connect to it in MSIE and Firefox. I changed the IP address for the post.) When I try to run this using a PKCS#12 certificate (a .pfx file), I get back what appears to be an openSSL error. In that case, I received no error, I was prompted to enter the PEM pass phrase, and the code did attempt to reach the server. (I received the response "The service is not available. Please try again later.", but I believe that would be because the server does not accept the PEM cert. I can't connect in Firefox to the server using the PEM cert either.) Is httplib's HTTPSConnection supposed to support PCKS#12 certificates? (That is, pfx files.) If so, why does it look like openSSL is trying to load it inside the PEM lib? Am I doing this all wrong? Any advice is welcome. EDIT: The certificate file contains both the certificate and the private key, which is why I'm providing the same file name for both the HTTPSConnection's key_file and cert_file parameters.

• Displaytag table exported header column contains span tags

  Hi, When I export the content of the display tag table I use the data shows up fine, but the header cells are surrounded by html span tags, which is slightly annoying. I can imagine why Displaytag uses spans around the column header's text, but it shouldn't transpose in the exported data I think.   So I have a project where there is some automatic initialization going on through some classes that are created automatically as global variables (yeah they are static instances). At a point inside this (it has no relation with the C# GUI for the user, so it isn't derived from any C# class) I need to see if a flag is set or not. I use toolstrip menu with checked and unchecked status in order to set or unset the flag. The problem is that I have difficulties to see if the flag is checked or not from this static class. My class is inside a different project/namespace and a DLL is created what later is linked to the GUI of the application. The GUI depends from this Manager class so making the Manager class to depend from the GUI is not an option. Nevertheless, I should be able to see its state knowing its name or through some other means. • Speech recognition plugin Runtime Error: Unhandled Exception. What could possibly cause it?

  I'm writing a plugin (dll file) for speech recognition, and I'm creating a WinForm as its interface/dialog.   I have a Winforms app that I am developing in C# that will serve as a frontend for a SQL Server 2005 database. I rolled the executable out to a test machine and ran it. It worked perfectly fine on the test machine up until the last round of changes that I made. I changed these instances to directly call the connection string from App.config without using GetConnectionString. However, when I went back to using the conString variable on each form, I had no issues. What I don't understand is why all three methods work fine on my development machine, while using the App.config directly or via the static string I created throw exceptions.

  This is a strange one. I have a Dev SQL Server which has the stored proc on it, and the same stored proc when used with the same code on the UAT DB causes it to delete itself! • Unable to add SSH pub key for GitHub

  I am trying to set up a new GitHub account as part of learning ruby on rails. My OS is windows. I am having the following problem while trying to add my public key to the GitHub SSH public keys. When I put the key in the text area, supply a name, and click 'Add Key', I am taken to the Job profile page without any confirmation that the key has been added.(I am using SSH client GUI to generate RSA keys). When I come back to the SSH public keys page, I see that the key is not there. I tried this multiple times...without any result.   I'm having this issue with a live app. (Unfortunately this is post-mortem debugging - I only have this stack trace. I've never seen this personally, nor am I able to reproduce). But I only do this after ShowModal() has returned (that should be safe right)? I think I read that events might be queued up in the event queue, but I can't believe this would be the problem. I mean surely the framework must be tolerant to old messages? I can well imagine that under stress messages might back-log and surely the window might go away at any time? Any ideas? If you could even suggest ways of reproducing, that might be useful. John Aside: TBH I've never quite understood whether calling Dispose() after Form.ShowDialog() is strictly necessary - the MSDN docs for ShowDialog() are to my mind a bit ambiguous.

• Cannot complete a JSONP call from jQuery to WCF

  Okay, I am trying (poorly) to successfully make a JSONP call from jQuery on a test page to a WCF web service running locally, as a cross-domain call. I have, at one point or another, either gotten a 1012 URI denied error, gotten a response but in Xml, or just had no response at all. Currently, the way I have it configured it spits back a 1012. I did not write this web service, so it is entirely possible that I am just missing a configuration setting somewhere, but I've become so frustrated with it that I think just asking on here will be more productive.   Hi everyone, I have an C# form application that use an access database. This application works perfectly in debug and release. It works on all version of Windows. But it crash on one computer with Windows 7. The message I got is: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: No value given for one or more required parameters.   I have a piece of code and I could not figure out why it is giving me Exception in thread "main" java.lang.StackOverflowError. This is the question: Given a positive integer n, prints out the sum of the lengths of the Syracuse sequence starting in the range of 1 to n inclusive. So, for example, the call: lengths(3) will return the the combined length of the sequences: 1 2 1 3 10 5 16 8 4 2 1 which is the value: 11. lengths must throw an IllegalArgumentException if its input value is less than one.
