    I am converting from JSON to object and from object to array. It does not what I expected, can you explain to me? $json = '{"0" : "a"}'; $obj = json_decode($json); $a = (array) $obj; print_r($a); echo("a0:".$a["0"]."<br>"); $b = array("0" => "b"); print_r($b); echo("b0:".$b["0"]."<br>"); The output here is: Array ( [0] => a ) a0: Array ( [0] => b ) b0:b I would have expected a0:a at the end of the first line.

  • Flex 4 app with mate design question

    Hi all, I have a view with a DropDownList component and a DataGroup component. The dropdownlist has to be updated from a remote php object and on change to call another remote object service in order to update the datagroup's provider. So I am thinks to dispatch an event from my view and the in my EventMap to call the service and inject the result to the drop down. When the dropdown changes I'll dispatch another event and in the EventMap I'll call another service and I'll inject the result to the datagroup. Is there another more sophisticated way?     Hi, I have an ASP.Net site, in which I am using a ListView with a Datapager. Apparently there is a bug with the Datapager, where it crashes if there is an empty ampersand (&) in the querystring. This is a known issue: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=357344&wa=wsignin1.0#tabs I see that there is a workaround given, but did not understand how to implement it. Can somebody point me in the right direction? Also, I see that this issue is marked as resolved. Any idea where I can find the updated version of this control? Wild Thing

    Hey everybody, I'm a total C# newb with a light (first year CS) background in Python. I wrote a console program in Python for doing marathon pace running calculations and I'm trying to figure out the syntax for this in C# using Visual Studio 2010. Here's a chunk of what I've got so far: string total_seconds = ((float.Parse(textBox_Hours.Text) * 60 * 60) + (float.Parse(textBox_Minutes.Text) * 60) + float.Parse(textBox_Seconds.Text)).ToString(); float secs_per_unit = ((float)(total_seconds) / (float)(textBox_Distance.Text)); float mins_per_unit = (secs_per_unit / 60); string pace_mins = (int)mins_per_unit.ToString(); string pace_secs = (float.Parse(mins_per_unit) - int.Parse(mins_per_unit) * 60).ToString(); textBox_Final_Mins.Text = pace_mins; textBox_Final_Secs.Text = pace_mins; Imagine you have a running pace of 8 minutes and 30 seconds per mile. secs_per_unit would be 510, mins_per_unit would be 8.5. pace_mins would simply be 8 and pace_secs would be 30. In Python I'd just convert variables from a float to a string to get 8 instead of 8.5, for example; hopefully the rest of the code gives you an idea of what I've been doing. Any input would be appreciated.

  • Question about Reporting and Data Warehousing Software bundled with SQL Server 2005

    We currently use SQL Server 2005 Enterprise for our fairly large application, that has its roots in pre SQL Server 7.0. The tables are normalized and designed mainly for the application. The developers for the most part have the legacy SQL Server mindset. Only using the part of TSQL that existed back in 7.0, not using any of the new features of tsql or that are bundled with 2005. We're currently trying to build on demand reports using some crappy third party software, and will eventually try to build a data warehouse using more of the same crappy third party software (name removed to protect the guilty, don't ask I will not tell). The rationale for this was that we didn't want to spend more money to buy this additional software from Microsoft (this was not my decision, I had no input, but is my problem now). But from what I can tell is that Enterprise includes all of these tools, or am I missing something? What comes bundled with SQL Server 2005 Enterprise as far as reporting and data warehousing? Will we need to purchase anything else? is there actually anything else that can be purchased from Microsoft in this regard?

  • Array Sorting Question for News System

    Hello all. I'm currently stuck trying to figure out how to sort my array files. I have a simple news posting system that stores the content in seperate .dat files and then stores them in an array. I numbered the files so that my array can sort them from lowest number to greatest; however, I have run into a small problem. To begin here is some more information on my system so that you can understand it better. The function that gathers my files is: function getNewsList() { $fileList = array(); // Open the actual directory if($handle = opendir(ABSPATH . ADMIN . "data")) { // Read all file from the actual directory while($file = readdir($handle)) { if(!is_dir($file)) { $fileList[] = $file; } } } // Return the array. return $fileList; } On a seperate file is the programming that processes the news post. I didn't post that code for simplicity's sake but I will explain how the files are named. The files are numbered and the part of the post's title is used... for the numbering I get a count of the array and add "1" as an offset. I get the title of the post, encode it to make it file-name-friendly and limit the amount of text so by the end of it all I end up with: // Make the variable that names the file that will contain // the post. $filename = "00{$newnumrows}_{$snipEncode}"; When running print_r on the above function I get: Array ( [0] => 0010_Mira_mi_Soledad.dat [1] => 0011_WOah.dat [2] => 0012_Sinep.dat [3] => 0013_Living_in_Warfa.dat [4] => 0014_Hello.dat [5] => 001_AS.dat [6] => 002_ASASA.dat [7] => 003_SSASAS.dat ... [13] => 009_ASADADASADAFDAF.dat ) And this is how my content is displayed. For some reason according to the array sorting 0010 comes before 001...? Is there a way I can get my array to sort 001 before 0010?

  • Python - question regarding the concurrent use of `multiprocess`.

    I want to use Python's multiprocessing to do concurrent processing without using locks (locks to me are the opposite of multiprocessing) because I want to build up multiple reports from different resources at the exact same time during a web request (normally takes about 3 seconds but with multiprocessing I can do it in .5 seconds). My problem is that, if I expose such a feature to the web and get 10 users pulling the same report at the same time, I suddenly have 60 interpreters open at the same time (which would crash the system). Is this just the common sense result of using multiprocessing, or is there a trick to get around this potential nightmare? Thanks

    Hi, I am have two mining models, both are time series. One is [Company_Inputs] and the other is [Booking_Projections]. What I want to do is use EXTEND_MODEL_CASES to join the results of [Company_Inputs] as the extended cases. So basically something like: Select Flattened PredictTimeSeries([Bookings], 1, 6, EXTEND_MODEL_CASES) FROM [Booking_Projections] Natural Prediction Join (Select Flattened PredictTimeSeries([Metric1], 1, 6) From [Company_Inputs]) AS T This code of course doesn't work, but the idea is to use the predictions made from [Company_Inputs] as cases for predicting future values of [Booking_Projections] If anyone has an idea of how I can accomplish this I would appreciate it very much.

  • Code igniter authentication code in controller security question

    I have a main controller to handle the very front-end of my authentication system, it handles login, logout, update user info, etc. functions that I anticipate calling by POST'ing from views/forms. What about something like a "delete_user" function though? My thoughts are a button in someones admin panel would say "Delete Account" and it would post to "/auth/delete", and the function would delete the user based on their session username or id. This seems a bit open ended, you could send out a link to someone and when they opened it while in that application it would delete their account.. Whats the best way to handle this?

Now for some operations (Say tax calculation) i dont really need this bulky product type, rather only a subset that has price related properties. I am not sure if i should create different snap shots(class) of products that just has the properties that i am interested in. what would be the ideal approach so that i don't unnecessarily pass around unsought fluff? When I try to delete a User who has an address I have to use orphanremoval=true on the corresponding relation (see above) and the preRemove function where the address List is set to null. Otherwise (no orphanremoval and adress list not set to null) a foreign key contraint fails. When i try to delete a user who has an vehicle a concurrent Acces Exception is thrown when do not uncomment the "this.owner.removeVehicle(this);" in the preRemove Function of the vehicle. The thing i do not understand is that before i used this inheritance there was only a User class which had all relations: @Entity @Table(name = "Users") public class User implements Serializable { @Id protected String username; @OneToMany(mappedBy = "owner", cascade = {CascadeType.PERSIST, CascadeType.REMOVE}) private List<Vehicle> vehicles; @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL) @JoinTable(name = "USER_ADDRESS", joinColumns = @JoinColumn(name = "USERNAME") inverseJoinColumns = @JoinColumn(name = "ADDRESS_ID")) ptivate List<Address> addresses; ... No orphanremoval, and the vehicle class has used the uncommented statement above in its preRemove function. And - I could delte a user who has an address and i could delte a user who has a vehicle. So why doesn't everything work without changes when i use inheritance? I use JPA 2.0, EclipseLink 2.0.2, MySQL 5.1.x and Netbeans 6.8

  • Conceptual question about NSAutoreleasePools

    In my Cocoa program, wouldn't a really simple way of dealing with autoreleased objects be to just create a timer object inside the app delegate that calls the following method e.g. every 10 seconds: if (pool) { // Release & drain the current pool to free the memory. [pool release]; } // Create a new pool. pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; The only problems I can imagine are: 1) If the above code runs in a separate thread, an object might get autoreleased between the release call to the old pool and the creation of the new pool - that seems highly unlikely though. 2) It's obviously not that efficient, because the pool might get released if there's nothing in it. Likewise, in the 10 second gap, many many objects might be autoreleased, causing the pool to grow a lot. Still, the above solution seems pretty suitable to small and simple projects. Why doesn't anybody use it? What's the best practice of using NSAutoreleasePools?

    Hi guys! I am somewhat mystified by concat and joins in MySQL 4. Here's where I am having an issue. I have two tables... person id, fname, lname, city, state, zip capital state, city I am needing to generate all states and the number of persons (from the person table) from each. Something like ....     I need to search through a list of folders that could have more folders inside it, and add a new folder depending what folder is its parent.(the path is stored as a String for eg = "root/MyCom/home/") Then i fill in a field with a new folder name and add it to the final folder(eg "home/"). Below as you can see , I can navigate to the right location and add the new folder to a current folder, My trouble is that i cannot ensure that currentFolder element is placed back in the list it came from how could i add a folder to a list of folders, that could be within a list of folders,that could be within a list of folders and endless more?
