  • can't get true height/width of object in chrome

    - by Cinaird
    I have a question, if i set a image height in css and try to get height/width i get different results in different browsers. Is there a way to get the same dimension in all browsers? You can find a live example here and the concept is like this: CSS: img{ height:100px; } Script: $(document).ready(function(){ $("#text").append($("#img_0").attr("height")); $("#text").append($("#img_0").attr("width")); }); Output Firefox: img height: 100 img width: 150 Output Chrome: img height: 100 img width: 0 Output Chrome: img height: 100 img width: 93? i have tried this from StackOverflow: stackoverflow.com/questions/1873419/jquery-get-height-width but still get the same result Any one know a good solution?

  • Getting ClassCastException with JSF 1.2 Custom Component and BEA 10.3

    - by Tobi
    Im getting a ClassCastException if i use Attributes in my Custom Headline Tag. Without Attributes rendering works fine. Calling <t:headline value="test" /> gives a ClassCastException even before a Method in my HeadlineComponent or HeadlineTag-Class is called. <t:headline /> works fine. I'm using MyFaces-1.2, on BEA 10.3 default.jsp <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%> <%@ taglib prefix="f" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"%> <%@ taglib prefix="h" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"%> <%@ taglib prefix="t" uri="http://www.tobi.de/taglibrary" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>Tobi Test</title> </head> <body> <f:view> <t:headline value="test" /> </f:view> </body> </html> HeadlineComponent.java package tobi.web.component.headline; import java.io.IOException; import javax.el.ValueExpression; import javax.faces.component.UIOutput; import javax.faces.context.FacesContext; import javax.faces.context.ResponseWriter; public class HeadlineComponent extends UIOutput { private String value; private Integer size; @Override public Object saveState(FacesContext context) { Object values[] = new Object[3]; values[0] = super.saveState(context); values[1] = value; values[2] = size; return ((Object)(values)); } @Override public void restoreState(FacesContext context, Object state) { Object values[] = (Object[])state; super.restoreState(context, values[0]); value = (String)values[1]; size = (Integer)values[2]; } @Override public void encodeBegin(FacesContext context) throws IOException { // Wenn keine Groesse angegeben wurde default 3 String htmlTag = (size == null) ?   • Calling Status Bar notification from method from other class.

    - by Jez Fischer
    Firstly, I am new to both android and Java. I have two classes, my main.class and Note.class. I am calling the notification method from my Note.class in my main.class when i press a button. The issue is with this line from the Note.class : PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0); notification.setLatestEventInfo(context, contentTitle, contentText, contentIntent); When the method is called it force closes. I believe the problem to be with the "this" in PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0);, but I am unsure what to change it to. The notification code works fine if it's in the main class. I would be very grateful for any guidance. Edit: Main class : http://pastebin.com/05Yx0a48 Note.class : package com.adamblanchard.remindme.com.adamblanchard; import com.adamblanchard.remindme.R; import android.app.Activity; import android.app.Notification; import android.app.NotificationManager; import android.app.PendingIntent; import android.content.Context; import android.content.Intent; import android.os.Bundle; public class Note extends Activity { public CharSequence note = "not changed"; int HELLO_ID = 1; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); setTitle("Remind Me!"); } //Notification Method public void callNotification() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub String ns = Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE; final NotificationManager mNotificationManager = (NotificationManager) getSystemService(ns); int icon = R.drawable.launcher; CharSequence tickerText = "Remind Me!"; long when = System.currentTimeMillis(); final Notification notification = new Notification(icon, tickerText, when); notification.flags |= Notification.FLAG_AUTO_CANCEL; final Context context = getApplicationContext(); CharSequence contentTitle = "Remind Me!"; CharSequence contentText = note; Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(context, AndroidNotifications.class); PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0); notification.setLatestEventInfo(context, contentTitle, contentText, contentIntent); mNotificationManager.notify(HELLO_ID, notification); HELLO_ID++; } } Debug Output : Thread [<1 main] (Suspended (exception IllegalStateException)) Note(Activity).getSystemService(String) line: 3536 Note.callNotification() line: 37 remindme$1$1.onClick(DialogInterface, int) line: 72 AlertDialog(AlertController$ButtonHandler).handleMessage(Message) line: 159 AlertController$ButtonHandler(Handler).dispatchMessage(Message) line: 99 Looper.loop() line: 123 ActivityThread.main(String[]) line: 3647 Method.invokeNative(Object, Object[], Class, Class[], Class, int, boolean) line: not available [native method] Method.invoke(Object, Object...) line: 507 ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run() line: 839 ZygoteInit.main(String[]) line: 597 NativeStart.main(String[]) line: not available [native method] This is the debug output I get, plus a force close popup on the device. • Does JSON.js cause conflicts with Sys.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.serialize

    - by David Robbins
    I am using Telerik controls in my webforms and want to serialize object on the client. Since I am getting a stackoverflow error with Sys.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.deserialize I wanted to try JSON. With both JSON and and the MS library I get "Sys.Application is undefined." Has anyone encountered this what did you do as a work around? EDIT I am serializing my object on a parent page and passing them via an argument to a child window. The child window is in an IFRAME tag. The object can be used in the child page, but I receive the stackoverflow error when I serialize it. The object is an Array of objects.

  • Returning Arrays from .net web service to Java ME web service results in compile error of stub?

    - by sphereinabox
    So, I'm getting some compile errors on netbeans 6.5 generated web service code for a java ME client to a c# (vs2005) web service. I've trimmed my example significantly, and it still shows the problem, and not being able to return a collection of things is pretty much a deal-breaker. c# web service (SimpleWebService.asmx) <%@ WebService Language="C#" Class="SimpleWebService" %> using System; using System.Web; using System.Web.Services; using System.Web.Services.Protocols; [WebService(Namespace = "http://sphereinabox.com/")] [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)] public class SimpleWebService : System.Web.Services.WebService { [WebMethod] public CustomType[] GetSomething() { return new CustomType[] {new CustomType("hi"), new CustomType("bye")}; } public class CustomType { public string Name; public CustomType(string _name) { Name = _name; } public CustomType() { } } } WSDL (automatically generated by vs2005): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <wsdl:definitions xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap12="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap12/" xmlns:mime="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/mime/" xmlns:tns="http://sphereinabox.com/" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" xmlns:tm="http://microsoft.com/wsdl/mime/textMatching/" xmlns:http="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/http/" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" targetNamespace="http://sphereinabox.com/" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"> <wsdl:types> <s:schema elementFormDefault="qualified" targetNamespace="http://sphereinabox.com/"> <s:element name="GetSomething"> <s:complexType /> </s:element> <s:element name="GetSomethingResponse"> <s:complexType> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="GetSomethingResult" type="tns:ArrayOfCustomType" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> </s:element> <s:complexType name="ArrayOfCustomType"> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" name="CustomType" nillable="true" type="tns:CustomType" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> <s:complexType name="CustomType"> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="Name" type="s:string" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> </s:schema> </wsdl:types> <wsdl:message name="GetSomethingSoapIn"> <wsdl:part name="parameters" element="tns:GetSomething" /> </wsdl:message> <wsdl:message name="GetSomethingSoapOut"> <wsdl:part name="parameters" element="tns:GetSomethingResponse" /> </wsdl:message> <wsdl:portType name="SimpleWebServiceSoap"> <wsdl:operation name="GetSomething"> <wsdl:input message="tns:GetSomethingSoapIn" /> <wsdl:output message="tns:GetSomethingSoapOut" /> </wsdl:operation> </wsdl:portType> <wsdl:binding name="SimpleWebServiceSoap" type="tns:SimpleWebServiceSoap"> <soap:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http" /> <wsdl:operation name="GetSomething"> <soap:operation soapAction="http://sphereinabox.com/GetSomething" style="document" /> <wsdl:input> <soap:body use="literal" /> </wsdl:input> <wsdl:output> <soap:body use="literal" /> </wsdl:output> </wsdl:operation> </wsdl:binding> <wsdl:binding name="SimpleWebServiceSoap12" type="tns:SimpleWebServiceSoap"> <soap12:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http" /> <wsdl:operation name="GetSomething"> <soap12:operation soapAction="http://sphereinabox.com/GetSomething" style="document" /> <wsdl:input> <soap12:body use="literal" /> </wsdl:input> <wsdl:output> <soap12:body use="literal" /> </wsdl:output> </wsdl:operation> </wsdl:binding> <wsdl:service name="SimpleWebService"> <wsdl:port name="SimpleWebServiceSoap" binding="tns:SimpleWebServiceSoap"> <soap:address location="http://localhost/SimpleWebService/SimpleWebService.asmx" /> </wsdl:port> <wsdl:port name="SimpleWebServiceSoap12" binding="tns:SimpleWebServiceSoap12"> <soap12:address location="http://localhost/SimpleWebService/SimpleWebService.asmx" /> </wsdl:port> </wsdl:service> </wsdl:definitions> Generated (netbeans) code that fails to compile, this was created going through the "Add - New JavaME to Web Services Client" wizard. The errors are that string isn't defined (it's String in java, and besides I think this should be talking about CustomType anyway). private static string string_fromObject( Object obj[] ) { if(obj == null) return null; string result = new string(); return result; }

  • PHP Email Form Sending Random Text

    - by Doug
    Hi, I did a webpage for a client that involved a series of text boxes asking for specific information such as a person's name, e-mail address, company, etc. Along with a button that would e-mail the information to my client. Whenever I tested the button it seemed to work perfectly, I uploaded the page and thought I was done. But, the other day my client got this email from the site: Name: rfhopzdgmx rfhopzdgmx Email: envlxw@lnlnsm.com Company: zUDXatAfoDvQrdH Mailing Address: AaSsXklqpHIsoCNcei gXsimMPRBYZqq vGLvZraZNdpOAV, ChsmuibE PoKzaSCubXPRI Home Phone: CIJbIfjMfjIaTqAlD Work Phone: JFLZBOvru Cell Phone: XlFJTTFGiTTiiFQfy Fax: UEJMOVZodWPkKxew Comments: sPvSCE hgetwoguderu,* [url=http://atyktjlxcznl.com/]atyktjlxcznl[/url], [link=http://nudvfcehwpyg.com/]nudvfcehwpyg[/link], http://lvvwkbzbhnzp.com/ Note: The * line contained HTML link code, I just don't know how to get this site to show it. Here is the PHP code in the site for the e-mail button. <?php //This Sends A Formatted Text Email Using The Text Boxes if ($_POST['submit']){ //This Gets The Form Data $fname = $_POST['fName']; $lname = $_POST['lName']; $email = $_POST['email']; $company = $_POST['co']; $address1 = $_POST['address1']; $address2 = $_POST['address2']; $city = $_POST['city']; $state = $_POST['state']; $zip = $_POST['zip']; $homep = $_POST['homeP']; $workp = $_POST['workP']; $cellp = $_POST['cellP']; $fax = $_POST['fax']; $comments = $_POST['txaOutputField']; //echo "<script language = 'javascript'>alert('YAY');</script>"; if ($fname && $lname && $email && $comments){ //Check If Required Fields Are Filled //This Sets The SMTP Configuration In php.ini ini_set("SMTP", "smtp.2ndsourcewire.com"); //This Replaces Any Blank Fields With 'None's if ($company == ""){ $company = "None"; } if ($address1 == ""){ $address1 = "None"; } if ($city == ""){ $city = "None"; } if ($state == ""){ $state = "None"; } if ($zip == ""){ $zip = "None"; } if ($homep == ""){ $homep = "None"; } if ($workp == ""){ $workp = "None"; } if ($cellp == ""){ $cellp = "None"; } if ($fax == ""){ $fax = "None"; } //This Creates The Variables Necessary For The Email $to = "CLIENT EMAIL WHICH I'M CENSORING"; $subject = "Email from 2ndSourceWire.com"; $from = "From: noreply@2ndsourcewire.com"; $secondEmail = "MY EMAIL WHICH I'M ALSO CENSORING"; if ($address2 == ""){ $body = "Name: $fname $lname\n". "Email: $email\n". "Company: $company\n\n". "Mailing Address:\n". "$address1\n". "$city, $state $zip\n\n". "Home Phone: $homep\n". "Work Phone: $workp\n". "Cell Phone: $cellp\n". "Fax: $fax\n\n". "Comments:\n". "$comments"; } else { $body = "Name: $fname $lname\n". "Email: $email\n". "Company: $company\n\n". "Mailing Address:\n". "$address1\n". "$address2\n". "$city, $state $zip\n\n". "Home Phone: $homep\n". "Work Phone: $workp\n". "Cell Phone: $cellp\n". "Fax: $fax\n\n". "Comments:\n". "$comments"; } //This Sends The Email mail($to, $subject, $body, $from); mail($secondEmail, $subject, $body, $from); echo "<script language = 'javascript'>alert('The email was sent successfully.');</script>"; } else { //The Required Fields Are Not Filled echo "<script language = 'javascript'>alert('Please fill your first name, last name, email address, and your comment or question.');</script>"; } } ? I'm a little dumbfounded on how this happened, the client mentioned a couple e-mails of this, so I don't think it is a random glitch. Also, the e-mail address was formatted like an e-mail address, so someone or some program was interpreting the labels next to each text box. I also noticed that the first and last names entered are the same word, even though they were in different text boxes, I'm thinking its some spam program, but wouldn't they try to advertise something and make money, rather than just spouting out random text? Also, the comments section makes no sense to me at all, the links goto nowhere and they're all perfectly formatted, a random person just screwing around wouldn't know those tags, and a programmer doing it wouldn't bother with it, but also neither would a program. I have no idea what caused this or how to fix it, I'm drawing a blank here. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Atomikos with Hibernate will exhaust db connections

    - by peter
    I am testing an application (Spring 2.5, Hibernate 3.5.0 Beta, Atomikos 3.6.2, and Postgreql 8.4.2) with the configuration for the DAO listed below. The problem that I see is that the pool of 10 connections with the dataSource gets exhausted after the 10's transaction. I know 'hibernate.connection.release_mode' has no effect unless the session is obtained with openSession rather then using a contextual session. I am wandering if anyone has found a way to instruct atomikos code to release connections after any transaction. Thank you Peter <bean id="dataSource" class="com.atomikos.jdbc.AtomikosDataSourceBean" init-method="init" destroy-method="close"> <property name="uniqueResourceName"><value>XADBMS</value></property> <property name="xaDataSourceClassName"> <value>org.postgresql.xa.PGXADataSource</value> </property> <property name="xaProperties"> <props> <prop key="databaseName">${jdbc.name}</prop> <prop key="serverName">${jdbc.server}</prop> <prop key="portNumber">${jdbc.port}</prop> <prop key="user">${jdbc.username}</prop> <prop key="password">${jdbc.password}</prop> </props> </property> <property name="poolSize"><value>10</value></property> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="dataSource"> <ref bean="dataSource" /> </property> <property name="mappingResources"> <list> <value>Abc.hbm.xml</value> </list> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">on</prop> <prop key="hibernate.format_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.connection.isolation">3</prop> <prop key="hibernate.current_session_context_class">jta</prop> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.factory_class">org.hibernate.transaction.JTATransactionFactory</prop> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.manager_lookup_class">com.atomikos.icatch.jta.hibernate3.TransactionManagerLookup</prop> <prop key="hibernate.connection.release_mode">auto</prop> <prop key="hibernate.current_session_context_class">org.hibernate.context.JTASessionContext</prop> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.auto_close_session">true</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <!-- Transaction definition here --> <bean id="userTransactionService" class="com.atomikos.icatch.config.UserTransactionServiceImp" init-method="init" destroy-method="shutdownForce"> <constructor-arg> <props> <prop key="com.atomikos.icatch.service"> com.atomikos.icatch.standalone.UserTransactionServiceFactory </prop> </props> </constructor-arg> </bean> <!-- Construct Atomikos UserTransactionManager, needed to configure Spring --> <bean id="AtomikosTransactionManager" class="com.atomikos.icatch.jta.UserTransactionManager" init-method="init" destroy-method="close" depends-on="userTransactionService"> <property name="forceShutdown" value="false" /> </bean> <!-- Also use Atomikos UserTransactionImp, needed to configure Spring --> <bean id="AtomikosUserTransaction" class="com.atomikos.icatch.jta.UserTransactionImp" depends-on="userTransactionService"> <property name="transactionTimeout" value="300" /> </bean> <!-- Configure the Spring framework to use JTA transactions from Atomikos --> <bean id="txManager" class="org.springframework.transaction.jta.JtaTransactionManager" depends-on="userTransactionService"> <property name="transactionManager" ref="AtomikosTransactionManager" /> <property name="userTransaction" ref="AtomikosUserTransaction" /> </bean> <!-- the transactional advice (what 'happens'; see the <aop:advisor/> bean below) --> <tx:advice id="txAdvice" transaction-manager="txManager"> <tx:attributes> <!-- all methods starting with 'get' are read-only --> <tx:method name="get*" read-only="true" propagation="REQUIRED"/> <!-- other methods use the default transaction settings (see below) --> <tx:method name="*" propagation="REQUIRED"/> </tx:attributes> </tx:advice> <aop:config> <aop:advisor pointcut="execution(* *.*.AbcDao.*(..))" advice-ref="txAdvice"/> </aop:config> <!-- DAO objects --> <bean id="abcDao" class="test.dao.impl.HibernateAbcDao" scope="singleton"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory"/> </bean>

  • User Interface design books/resources for programmers

    - by mmacaulay
    Hi, I'm going to make my monthly trip to the bookstore soon and I'm kind of interested in learning some user interface and/or design stuff - mostly web related, what are some good books I should look at? One that I've seen come up frequently in the past is Don't Make Me Think, which looks promising. I'm aware of the fact that programmers often don't make great designers, and as such this is more of a potential hobby thing than a move to be a professional designer. I'm also looking for any good web resources on this topic. I subscribed to Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox newsletter, for instance, although it seems to come only once a month or so. Thanks! Somewhat related questions: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/75863/what-are-the-best-resources-for-designing-user-interfaces http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7973/user-interface-design

  • How can you determine when the user scrolls to the bottom of a DataGridView?

    - by Craig
    I am writing a C# Windows Forms Application in Visual Studio 2008. I have a DataGridView with a lot of data in it. I would like to initially only populate 10,000 rows and add more only when the user scrolls to the bottom. I am handling the DataGridView's Scroll event, but it never seems to raise with the ScrollEventArgs.Type property set to Last, which is the condition I think I need to catch to add more rows. I have read about people having bad experiences with the DataGridView.Scroll event (e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/785200/datagridview-scroll-event-and-scrolleventtype-endscroll), but the solution provided (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/472389/how-can-i-receive-the-scroll-box-type-scroll-events-from-a-datagridview/767603#767603) only adds the ScrollEventArgs.Type property to come back as EndScroll, not Last like I need. Does anybody know how to get the event to raise properly, or another way to accomplish this task?

    - by Gareth Saul
    I have an unusual issue with this page: http://reports.liftlogger.com/FleetReport/Status/ (username stackoverflow / password stackoverflow). The page loads and renders correctly in IE7/8. However, the graph does NOT print correctly. When printing or print previewing, the graph fails to load. I've identified that when printing, the browser attempts to reload the image, but does not send the ASPXAUTH authentication cookie along with it. This is required to generate the image (due to permission enforcement in the back-end). Can anyone help me identify why IE decides not to send this cookie, and is there a fix? Regards Gareth

  • Python utf-8 decoding issue with hashlib.digest() method

    - by Sorw
    Hello StackOverflow community, Using Google App Engine, I wrote a keyToSha256() method within a model class (extending db.Model) : class Car(db.Model): def keyToSha256(self): keyhash = hashlib.sha256(str(self.key())).digest() return keyhash When displaying the output (ultimately within a Django template), I get garbled text, for example : ?????_??!`?I?!?;?QeqN??Al?'2 I was expecting something more in line with this : 9f86d081884c7d659a2feaa0c55ad015a3bf4f1b2b0b822cd15d6c15b0f00a08 Am I missing something important ? Despite reading several guides on ASCII, Unicode, utf-8 and the like, I think I'm still far from mastering the secrets of string encoding/decoding. After browsing StackOverflow and searching for insights via Google, I figured out I should ask the question here. Any idea ? Thanks !

  • How to migrate project from RCS to CVS?

    - by Norman Ramsey
    I have a 20-year-old project that I would like to migrate from RCS to git, without losing the history. All web pages suggest that the One True Path is through CVS. But after an hour of Googling and trying different scripts, I have yet to find anything that successfully converts my RCS project tree to CVS. I'm hoping the good people at Stackoverflow will know what actually works, as opposed to what is claimed to work and doesn't. (I searched Stackoverflow using both the native SO search and a Google search, but if there's a helpful answer in the database, I missed it.) Things that don't work that I still remember: The rcs-to-cvs script that ships in the contrib directory of the CVS sources The rcs-fast-export tool at http://git.oblomov.eu/rcs-fast-export The rcs2cvs script found in a document called "CVS-RCS- HOW-TO Document for Linux"

  • Most useful parallel programming algorithm?

    - by Zubair
    I recenty asked a question about parallel programming algorithms which was closed quite fast due to my bad ability to communicate my intent: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2407631/what-is-the-most-useful-parallel-programming-algorithm-closed I had also recently asked another question, specifically: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2407493/is-mapreduce-such-a-generalisation-of-another-programming-principle/2407570#2407570 The other question was specifically about map reduce and to see if mapreduce was a more specific version of some other concept in parallel programming. This question (about a useful parallel programming algorithm) is more about the whole series of algorithms for parallel programming. You will have to excuse me though as I am quite new to parallel programming, so maybe MapReduce or something that is a more general form of mapreduce is the "only" parallel programming construct which is available, in which case I apologise for my ignorance

  • PL/SQL pre-compile and Code Quality checks in an automatted build environment?

    - by Lars Corneliussen
    We build software using Hudson and Maven. We have C#, java and last, but not least PL/SQL sources (sprocs, packages, DDL, crud) For C# and Java we do unit tests and code analysis, but we don't really know the health of our PL/SQL sources before we actually publish them to the target database. Requirements There are a couple of things we wan't to test in the following priority: Are the sources valid, hence "compilable"? For packages, with respect to a certain database, would they compile? Code Quality: Do we have code flaws like duplicates, too complex methods or other violations to a defined set of rules? Also, the tool must run head-less (commandline, ant, ...) we wan't to do analysis on a partial code base (changed sources only) Tools We did a little research and found the following tools that could potencially help: Cast Application Intelligence Platform (AIP): Seems to be a server that grasps information about "anything". Couldn't find a console version that would export in readable format. Toad for Oracle: The Professional version is said to include something called Xpert validates a set of rules against a code base. Sonar + PL/SQL-Plugin: Uses Toad for Oracle to display code-health the sonar-way. This is for browsing the current state of the code base. Semantic Designs DMSToolkit: Quite general analysis of source code base. Commandline available? Semantic Designs Clones Detector: Detects clones. But also via command line? Fortify Source Code Analyzer: Seems to be focussed on security issues. But maybe it is extensible? more... So far, Toad for Oracle together with Sonar seems to be an elegant solution. But may be we are missing something here? Any ideas? Other products? Experiences? • .net open auth?

    - by chobo2
    Hi I know stackoverflow uses open authentication. I want to try and use this as well. I am using asp.net mvc 2.0 with C#. I found this http://www.dotnetopenauth.net/ and I am wondering if this is what was used for stackoverflow. Also any tutorials would be nice as well. Edit I am trying to load up some sample projects but when I build it in VS2010 I get Error 6 'System.Diagnostics.Contracts.ContractInvariantMethodAttribute' is inaccessible due to its protection level C:\Users\chobo2\Downloads\DotNetOpenAuth-3.4.6.10357\DotNetOpenAuth-3.4.6.10357\Samples\OpenIdOfflineProvider\TextBoxTextWriter.cs 73 4 OpenIdOfflineProvider Error 7 The type or namespace name 'ContractInvariantMethod' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) • Follow up viewDidUnload vs. dealloc question...

    - by entaroadun
    Clarification question as a follow up to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2261972/what-exactly-must-i-do-in-viewdidunload http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1158788/when-should-i-release-objects-in-voidviewdidunload-rather-than-in-dealloc So let's say there's a low memory error, and the view is hidden, and viewDidUnload is called. We do the release and nil dance. Later the entire view stack is not needed, so dealloc is called. Since I already have the release and nil stuff in viewDidUnload, I don't have it in dealloc. Perfect. But if there's no low memory error, viewDidUnload is never called. dealloc is called and since I don't have the release and nil stuff, there's a memory leak. In other words, will dealloc ever be called without viewDidUnload being called first? And the practical follow up to that is, if I alloc and set something in viewDidLoad, and I release it and set to nil in viewDidUnload, do I leave it out of dealloc, or do I do a defensive nil check in dealloc and release/nil it if it's not nil?

  • What is the worst programming mistake you have made?

    - by George Edison
    Most of us are not perfect. (Well, except Jon Skeet) Have you made a terrible mistake that you would like to share? The idea is that we could all learn from our mistakes and by collecting them together here, we can avoid some common ones and discover some no-so-common ones we may have overlooked. Oh, and this question is CW, of course. Edit: This question is different than http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1928002/what-is-the-worst-programming-mistake-you-have-ever-seen because we are sharing our own mistakes. Edit again: And this one http://stackoverflow.com/questions/130965/what-is-the-worst-code-youve-ever-written is different too - it asks for code. My question does not have that restriction!

  • jQuery autocomplete not always working on elements

    - by PoweRoy
    I'm trying to create a greasemonkey script (for Opera) to add autocomplete to input elements found on a webpage but it's not completely working. I first got the autocomplete plugin working: // ==UserScript== // @name autocomplete // @description autocomplete // @include * // ==/UserScript== // Add jQuery var GM_JQ = document.createElement('script'); GM_JQ.src = 'http://jquery.com/src/jquery-latest.js'; GM_JQ.type = 'text/javascript'; document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(GM_JQ); var GM_CSS = document.createElement('link'); GM_CSS.rel = 'stylesheet'; GM_CSS.href = 'http://dev.jquery.com/view/trunk/plugins/autocomplete/jquery.autocomplete.css'; document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(GM_CSS); var GM_JQ_autocomplete = document.createElement('script'); GM_JQ_autocomplete.type = 'text/javascript'; GM_JQ_autocomplete.src = 'http://dev.jquery.com/view/trunk/plugins/autocomplete/jquery.autocomplete.js'; document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(GM_JQ_autocomplete); // Check if jQuery's loaded function GM_wait() { if(typeof window.jQuery == 'undefined') { window.setTimeout(GM_wait,100); } else { $ = window.jQuery; letsJQuery(); } } GM_wait(); function letsJQuery() { $("input[type='text']").each(function(index) { $(this).val("test autocomplete"); }); $("input[type='text']").autocomplete("http://mysite/jquery_autocomplete.php", { dataType: 'jsonp', parse: function(data) { var rows = new Array(); for(var i=0; i<data.length; i++){ rows[i] = { data:data[i], value:data[i], result:data[i] }; } return rows; }, formatItem: function(row, position, length) { return row; }, }); } I see the 'test autocomplete' but using the Opera debugger(firefly) I don't see any communication to my php page. (yes mysite is fictional, but it works here) Trying it on my own page: <body> no autocomplete: <input type="text" name="q1" id="script_1"><br> autocomplete on: <input type="text" name="q2" id="script_2" autocomplete="on"><br> autocomplete off: <input type="text" name="q3" id="script_3" autocomplete="off"><br> autocomplete off: <input type="text" name="q4" id="script_4" autocomplete="off"><br> </body> This works, but when trying on another pages it sometimes won't: e.g. http://spitsnieuws.nl/ works but http://nu.nl and http://dumpert.nl don't work. Trying the autocomplete of jquery ui has more problems: // ==UserScript== // @name autocomplete // @description autocomplete // @include * // ==/UserScript== // Add jQuery var GM_JQ = document.createElement('script'); GM_JQ.src = 'http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js'; GM_JQ.type = 'text/javascript'; document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(GM_JQ); var GM_CSS = document.createElement('link'); GM_CSS.rel = 'stylesheet'; GM_CSS.href = 'http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8/themes/base/jquery-ui.css'; document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(GM_CSS); var GM_JQ_autocomplete = document.createElement('script'); GM_JQ_autocomplete.type = 'text/javascript'; GM_JQ_autocomplete.src = 'http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8/jquery-ui.min.js'; document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(GM_JQ_autocomplete); // Check if jQuery's loaded function GM_wait() { if(typeof window.jQuery == 'undefined') { window.setTimeout(GM_wait,100); } else { $ = window.jQuery; letsJQuery(); } } GM_wait(); // All your GM code must be inside this function function letsJQuery() { $("input[type='text']").each(function(index) { $(this).val("test autocomplete"); }); $("input[type='text']").autocomplete({ source: function(request, response) { $.ajax({ url: "http://mysite/jquery_autocomplete.php", dataType: "jsonp", success: function(data) { response($.map(data, function(item) { return { label: item, value: item } })) } }) } }); } This will work on my html page, http://spitsnieuws.nl and http://dumpert.nl but not on http://nu.nl. (dumpert didn't work on the plugin autocomplete) //http://spitsnieuws.nl <input class="frmtxt ac_input" type="text" id="zktxt" name="query" autocomplete="off"> //http://dumpert.nl <input type="text" name="srchtxt" id="srchtxt"> //http://nu.nl <input id="zoekfield" name="q" type="text" value="Zoek nieuws" onfocus="this.select()" type="text"> Anyone know why the autocomplete functionality doesn't work? Why the request to the php page is not being made? And why I can't add my autocomplete to google.com?

  • GWT Custom Events

    - by Ciarán
    Hey I have a problem getting my head around how custom GWT event Handlers work. I have read quite a bit about the topic and it still is some what foggy. I have read threads here on Stackoverflow like this one http://stackoverflow.com/questions/998621/gwt-custom-event-handler.Could someone explain it in an applied mannar such as the following. I have 2 classes a block and a man class. When the man collides with the block the man fires an event ( onCollision() ) and then the block class listens for that event. Thanks

  • OpenID - How can I use my personal domain as an OpenID provider/forwarder?

    - by John Himmelman
    I read this comment in the OpenID post on the stackoverflow blog. Kibbee says : One nice feature of OpenID that I use is the ability to delegate the openID verification. So I can set up my own domain name, and then put a tiny bit of XML on that page that tells the site (like stackoverflow) to go to some other openid Provider (in my case MyOpenID). The big plus is that I have complete control over my Open ID account. If MyOpenID goes down, I can just switch to another provider. I think anybody who has their own domain name should go for this option. What is this tiny bit of XML that will allow my server to act as an openid provider/forwarder?
