  • SQL SERVER Create Primary Key with Specific Name when Creating Table

It is interesting how sometimes the documentation of simple concepts is not available online. I had received email from one of the reader where he has asked how to create Primary key with a specific name when creating the table itself. He said, he knows the method where he can create the table and then [...]...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • SQL Management Studio external database only

    - by Robuust
I'm trying to speed up my PC, and I figured out that a full version of SQL Management Studio 2012 is installed including localhost server. I only need to connect to remote hosts, so running a local server by default should be disabled. Is there an easy way to disable certain parts so I can speed up my PC and booting time? Thanks in advance. I really have no clue what processes I can disable without ruining everything.

  • dig gets the right result from DNS server, but name still fails to resolve

    - by EMiller
Under what conditions would the following occur? From a given OSX machine on an internal network: $~ cat /etc/resolv.conf nameserver 10.102.120.7 nameserver 10.102.120.2 From the same machine: $~ dig @10.102.120.7 in.local <snip> ... ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;in.local. IN A ;; ANSWER SECTION: in.local. 43200 IN A 10.102.123.30 <snip> ... And yet, this workstation cannot ping in.local, nor load pages hosted by apache on that machine. 10.102.123.30 is definitley up (2 OSX machines I know fail to resolve in.local - but other machines on the network can). I have also checked their /etc/hosts to see if anything there might interfere... Not sure what else to check...

  • SQL SERVER Simple Example of Snapshot Isolation ReducetheBlockingTransactions

To learn any technology and move to a more advanced level, it is very important to understand the fundamentals of the subject first. • NFS of NAS server blocks in cluster environment

    - by Zardoz
In our department we have an Iomega NAS (px4-300d) connected to a Supermicro cluster with 5 nodes (12 cores per node). Each node mounts a share on that NAS by using NFS. Unfortunately after some time (several minutes) of permanent read/write operations (from all nodes) the NAS starts to block and a bit later freezes completely. We tried several options of the mount command, but nothing helped (async, intr, wsize, rsize). The NAS itself doesn't allow many options (better to say none). Do you have any recommendation how to integrate a NAS using NFS in a cluster environment?

  • Access an external SSH server through a restrictive proxy [on hold]

    - by Cyrille
I'm a software developer. I wish to access my computer at home through SSH. For example, I sometime need to access my personal projects source code to check how I handled specific problems. Unfortunately, I currently work under an over-restrictive and anti-productive proxy that waste a hell of a lot of everyone's time (We often have to visit websites from our smartphones or use a web proxy to check very legitimates websites for answers, and don't get me started on other "security" overkill features we have to cope with...). Well, back to the subject, I can access my home computer from my phone (SSH, port 22 and 80 both redirected by router on port 22). It works, but it's quite uncomfortable. From my office computer, this is what I tried so far: export http_proxy=http://user:pass@proxyip:8080 echo "user:pass" > ~/.corkscrew-auth echo "ProxyCommand corkscrew proxyip 8080 %h %p /home/me/.corkscrew-auth" > ~/.ssh/config ssh 82.23.34.56 -l me -p 80 Proxy could not open connnection to 82.23.34.56: Forbidden ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host (same without -p 80) Without corkscrew: ssh: connect to host 82.23.34.56 port 80: Connection timed out ssh: connect to host 82.23.34.56 port 22: Connection timed out Any other idea ?

  • Dialogs appear on wrong monitor with SQL Server Management Studio 2008

    - by David
I am running SSMS 2008 on Windows 7 with a dual monitor setup (one large, one small). SSMS is running on the secondary monitor, but everytime a dialog is opened, the dialog is placed on the primary monitor instead. I've tried moving the dialog over, closing it, and then re-opening it, but it doesn't remember and goes back to the primary monitor. This is really annoying for some of the designer dialogs, is there any way to fix this other than switching SSMS to the primary monitor? Is this a known bug with SSMS, or is it a problem with my particular setup?

  • Enable 'mod_rewrite' Using .htaccess File On cPanel Shared Hosting Server

    - by zulhfreelancer
I'm using cPanel to host my website. I need to enable 'mod_rewrite' on this Shared Hosting cPanel account to run my script. I've tried to Google the solutions high and low but did not find any luck yet. Those tutorials that I found only work well with VPS and some of them said that, only hosting provider can change and enable it. But, some of them said that, it can be done easily by editing the .htaccess file. My question: If I want to edit the .htaccess file, what should I include in that file? What the 'rules' and 'conditions' that should be included?

  • How to make Nginx fire 504 immediately is server is not available?

    - by Georgiy Ivankin
I have Nginx set up as a load balancer with cookie-based stickiness. The logic is: If the cookie is NOT there, use round-robbing to choose a server from cluster. If the cookie is there, go to the server that is associated with the cookie value. Server is then responsible for setting the cookie. What I want to add is this: If the cookie is there, but server is down, fallback to round-robbing step to choose next available server. So actually I have load balancing and want to add failover support on top of it. I have managed to do that with the help of error_page directive, but it doesn't work as I expected it to. The problem: 504 (and the fallback associated with it) fires only after 30s timeout even if the server is not physically available. So what I want Nginx to do is fire a 504 (or any other error, doesn't matter) immediately (I suppose this means: when TCP connection fails). This is the behavior we can see in browsers: if we go directly to server when it is down, browser immediately tells us that it can't connect. Moreover, Nginx seems to be doing this for 502 error: if I intentionally misconfigure my servers, Nginx fires 502 immediately. Configuration (stripped down to basics): http { upstream my_cluster { server 192.168.73.210:1337; server 192.168.73.210:1338; } map $cookie_myCookie $http_sticky_backend { default 0; value1 192.168.73.210:1337; value2 192.168.73.210:1338; } server { listen 8080; location @fallback { proxy_pass http://my_cluster; } location / { error_page 504 = @fallback; # Create a map of choices # see https://gist.github.com/jrom/1760790 set $test HTTP; if ($http_sticky_backend) { set $test "${test}-STICKY"; } if ($test = HTTP-STICKY) { proxy_pass http://$http_sticky_backend$uri?$args; break; } if ($test = HTTP) { proxy_pass http://my_cluster; break; } return 500 "Misconfiguration"; } } } Disclaimer: I am pretty far from systems administration of any kind, so there may be some basics that I miss here. EDIT: I'm interested in solution with standard free version of Nginx, not Nginx Plus. Thanks.

  • How to have Vista OS send documents to printer without waiting in front?

    - by Greenleader
Hi, I got a print server on our old printer. I have a problem, because Vista has its own queue. I want to bypass this queue and send everything straight away to printer so the print server deals with queue and not vista. Problem is, when second document is being printed from the same computer after first one. Vista is still waiting for info on finishing the first job even 5 minutes after it was REALLY finished.
