  I am getting the following error when I post back a page from the client-side. I have javascript code that modifies an asp:listbox on the client side. How do we fix this? • Using reshape + cast to aggregate over multiple columns

  In R, I have a data frame with columns for Seat (factor), Party (factor) and Votes (numeric). I want to create a summary data frame with columns for Seat, Winning party, and Vote share. For example, from the data frame df <- data.frame(party=rep(c('Lab','C','LD'),times=4), votes=c(1,12,2,11,3,10,4,9,5,8,6,15), seat=rep(c('A','B','C','D'),each=3)) I want to get the output seat winner voteshare 1 A C 0.8000000 2 B Lab 0.4583333 3 C C 0.5000000 4 D LD 0.5172414 I can figure out how to achieve this. But I'm sure there must be a better way, probably a cunning one-liner using Hadley Wickham's reshape package. Any suggestions? For what it's worth, my solution uses a function from my package djwutils_2.10.zip and is invoked as follows. But there are all sorts of special cases it doesn't deal with, so I'd rather rely on someone else's code. aggregateList(df, by=list(seat=seat), FUN=list(winner=function(x) x$party[which.max(x$votes)], voteshare=function(x) max(x$votes)/sum(x$votes)))

I use this same "{Binding SiteName}" in all my other colums with no issues, why can't the user control accept the same binding string?

  We have an application which listens for incoming TCP requests using the Indy 10.1.1 components that ship with Delphi 2007. Occassionally we receive incoming connections which are not from our client application. Typically, one of two things happens: 1) the connection is terminated by the client before any data is received, or 2) data is received which we're not expecting and we manually terminate the connection. However, we've received connections where no data is received and appear to persist until the client terminates the connection from their end. Is there a way to terminate such a connection from the server if no data is received after a specified amount of time?

  I have a task to validate addresses entered into a system I am currently creating. The system requires that address entered are validated against a valid data source. In the UK the dataset comes from the Royal Mail and is expensive to access. The data needed is post code info for the whold of europe to start with accessed by an API into the web application. There are a number of companies that offer this service, QAS Capscan Postcode anywhere These all offer the service I require. However this is expensive and in some cases not a complete data set. e.g. not Ireland I was also wondering if there would be a way to utalis the google maps API to validate this data via postal code and country. Would the google maps method be possible or do I have to go down the line of one of these expensive companies? Any thoughts on what line I should take.

  Hi all, I am csv.reader to pull in info from a very long sheet. I am doing work on that data set and then I am using the xlwt package to give me a workable excel file. However, I get this error: UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0x92 in position 34: ordinal not in range(128) My question to you all is, how can I find exactly where that error is in my data set? Also, is there some code that I can write which will look through my data set and find out where the issues lie (because some data sets run without the above error and others have problems)?

I am getting a few compiler errors while doing this. • rsyncing - ignoring checksums

  Trying to copy a bunch of data over and time, unfortunately, is of the essence. I'd like to do an rsync of all the data in one direction, pretty much rsync just clobbers what's over on the destination server. Is there a way to do an rsync and just say, "overwrite all files" Is there a better way of doing this? We're talking 500GB of data that only has to go in one direction.

  I have a 2d vector typedef vector <double> record_t; typedef vector <record_t> data_t; data_t data; So my 2d vector is data here. It has elements like say, 1 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 3 4 4 4 4 4 5 5 5 5 5 Now I want to insert these elements into another 2d vector std::vector< vector<double> > window; So what I did was to create an iterator for traversing through the rows of data and pushing it into window like std::vector< std::vector<double> >::iterator data_it; for (data_it = data.begin() ; data_it != data.end() ; ++data_it){ window.push_back ( *data_it ); // Do something else } Can anybody tell me where I'm wrong or suggest a way to do this ? BTW I want to push it just element by element because I want to be able to do something else inside the loop too. i.e. I want to check for a condition and increment the value of the iterator inside. for example, if a condition satisfies then I'll do data_it+=3 or something like that inside the loop. I can compute the statistic for all pairs like this: result = [] for elt1, elt2 in itertools.product(labels, labels): result.append(compute_statistic(data[elt1], data[elt2])) But I want result to be a n by n matrix, corresponding to "labels" by "labels".   I'm using PHP to return a json_encode()'d array for use in my Javascript code. It's being returned as: {"parent1[]":["child1","child2","child2"],"parent2[]":["child1"]} By using the following code, I am able to access parent2 > child1 $.getJSON('myfile.php', function(data) { for (var key in data) { alert(data[key]); } } However, this doesn't give me access to child1, child2, child, of parent1. Alerting the key by itself shows 'parent1' but when I try to alert it's contents, I get undefined. I figured it would give me an object/array? How do I access the children of parent1? data[key][0] ?

• Jquery Ajax + PHP

  I am having problems with jQuery Ajax and PHP I have my php file set up to echo the data I am gathering from a mysql database. I have verified that the database is returning something and that the string at the end of the function actually contains data. What is happening though, is that it looks like the php echo is happening before the ajax call, causing the php data to be displayed at the top of the page, and not below in proper div. I think it might have something to do with timing of the ajax and the php call, but I am not sure. So, why is the data not getting caught by the .ajax and thrown into the div? One way I've looked at it to just configure my project to be 32-bit when I develop, and let the build machine fix the reference when building for 64-bit, but this seems a bit awkward and probably prone to errors. Any other options? The reason I want to get rid of it is that the warning is apparently being picked up by TeamCity and periodically flagged as something I need to look into, so I'd like to get completely rid of it.
