  • jitter if multiple outliers in ggplot2 boxplot

    - by Andreas
    I am trying to find a suitable display to illustrate various properties within and across school classes. For each class there is only 15-30 data points (pupils). Right now i am leaning towards a whisker-less boxplot, showing only 1.,2. and 3. quartile + datapoints more then e.g. 1 population SD +/- the sample median. This I can do. However - I need to show this graph to some teachers, in order to gauge what they like most. I'd like to compare my graph with a normal boxplot. But the normal boxplot looks the same if there is only one outlier, or e.g. 5 outliers at the same value. In this case this would be a deal-breaker. e.g. test <-structure(list(value = c(3, 5, 3, 3, 6, 4, 5, 4, 6, 4, 6, 4, 4, 6, 5, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 3, 4, 4, 4, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 4, 3, 5, 4, 6, 5, 6, 4, 5, 5, 3, 4, 4, 6, 4, 4, 5, 5, 3, 4, 5, 8, 8, 8, 8, 9, 6, 6, 7, 6, 9), places = structure(c(1L, 2L, 1L, 1L, 1L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 1L, 1L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 1L, 1L, 1L, 1L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 2L, 1L, 1L, 2L, 2L, 1L, 1L, 1L, 1L, 2L, 1L, 1L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 1L, 1L, 2L, 2L, 1L, 2L, 1L), .Label = c("a", "b"), class = "factor")), .Names = c("value", "places"), row.names = c(NA, -60L), class = "data.frame") ggplot(test, aes(x=places,y=value))+geom_boxplot() Here there are two outliers at ("a",9) - but only one "dot" shown. So my question: How to jitter the outliers. And - what kind of display would you suggest for this kind of data?

  • Windows Media Encoder object not created in ASP.NET on MS Server 2003 64 bit

    - by Ron
    Hello, I created (and used) a Windows Media Encoder object in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition on MS Server 2003 64 bit. This worked fine. However, when I attempted to create the equivalent Windows Media Encoder object using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 on MS Server 2003 64 bit, the following exception was thrown: "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {632B606A-BBC6-11D2-A329-006097C4E476} failed due to the following error: 80040154." It cannot be that the component isn’t registered, because both have a reference to the same WMEncEng.dll file. The Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 code also worked fine on XP 32 bit. Could it be a problem with permissions? Regardless, anyone have any ideas why this problem is occurring and, more importantly, how to resolve it? Thank you. Here are the two code snippets from MS Server 2003 64 bit: Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 (did not work): using System; using WMEncoderLib; namespace TestWMEnc { public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { WMEncoder encoder = new WMEncoder(); //exception thrown // ... } catch (Exception err) { string exception = err.Message; } } } } Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition (worked fine): using System; using System.Windows.Forms; using WMEncoderLib; namespace testWMEncoder { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { WMEncoder encoder = new WMEncoder(); // ... } catch (Exception err) { string exception = err.Message; } } } }

  • How to construct LambdaExpression with conversion

    - by nerijus
    I need to sort in ajax response grid by column name. Column value is number stored as a string. Let's say some trivial class (in real-life situation there is no possibility to modify this class): class TestObject { public TestObject(string v) { this.Value = v; } public string Value { get; set; } } then simple test: [Test] public void LambdaConstructionTest() { var queryable = new List<TestObject> { new TestObject("5"), new TestObject("55"), new TestObject("90"), new TestObject("9"), new TestObject("09"), new TestObject("900"), }.AsQueryable(); var sortingColumn = "Value"; ParameterExpression parameter = Expression.Parameter(queryable.ElementType); MemberExpression property = Expression.Property(parameter, sortingColumn); //// tried this one: var c = Expression.Convert(property, typeof(double)); LambdaExpression lambda = Expression.Lambda(property, parameter); //// constructs: o=>o.Value var callExpression = Expression.Call(typeof (Double), "Parse", null, property); var methodCallExpression = Expression.Call( typeof(Queryable), "OrderBy", new[] { queryable.ElementType, property.Type }, queryable.Expression, Expression.Quote(lambda)); // works, but sorts by string values. //Expression.Quote(callExpression)); // getting: System.ArgumentException {"Quoted expression must be a lambda"} var querable = queryable.Provider.CreateQuery<TestObject>(methodCallExpression); // return querable; // <- this is the return of what I need. } Sorry for not being clear in my first post as @SLaks answer was correct but I do not know how to construct correct lambda expression in this case.

  • Overlaying 2D paths on UIImage without scaling artifacts

    - by tat0
    I need to draw a path along the shape of an image in a way that it is always matching its position on the image independent of the image scale. Think of this like the hybrid view of Google Maps where streets names and roads are superimposed on top of the aerial pictures. Furthermore, this path will be drawn by the user's finger movements and I need to be able to retrieve the path keypoints on the image pixel coordinates. The user zooms-in in order to more precisely set the paths location. I manage to somehow make it work using this approach: -Create a custom UIView called CanvasView that handles touches interaction and delivers scaling, rotation, translation values to either the UIImageView or PathsView (see bellow) depending on a flag: deliverToImageOrPaths. -Create a UIImageView holding the base image. This is set as a children of CanvasView -Create a custom UIView called PathsView that keeps track of the 2D paths geometry and draws itself with a custom drawRect. This is set as children of the UIImageView. So hierarchy: CanvasView - UIImageView -PathsView In this way when deliverToImageOrPaths is YES, finger gestures transforms both the UIImageView and its child PathsView. When deliverToImageOrPaths is NO the gestures affect only the PathsView altering its geometry. So far so good. QUESTION: The problem I have is that when scaling the base UIImageView (via its .transform property) the PathsView is scaled with aliasing artifacts. drawRect is still being called on the PathsView but I guess it's performing the drawing using the original buffer size and then interpolating. How can I solve this issue? Are there better ways to implement these features? PS: I tried changing the PathsView layer class to CATiledLayer with levelsOfDetailBias 4 and levelsOfDetail 4. It solves the aliasing problem to some extent but it's unacceptable slow to render.

  • Groovy on Grails: GORM and BitSets?

    - by Visionary Software Solutions
    I don't see anything in the official documentation about unsupported persistence data types, so I'm working under the assumption that types available in the Groovy language should be handled. However, for the following domain class: class DocGroupPermissions { Workgroup workgroup; Document document; BitSet permissions = new BitSet(2) public DocGroupPermissions() {} void setPermissions(boolean canRead, boolean canWrite){ setReadPermissions(canRead) setWritePermissions(canWrite) } BitSet getPermissions() { return permissions } void setReadPermissions(boolean canRead) { permissions.set(0,canRead) } void setWritePermissions(boolean canWrite) { permissions.set(1,canWrite) } boolean getReadPermissions() { return permissions.get(0) } boolean getWritePermissions() { return permissions.get(1) } static belongsTo = [workgroup:Workgroup, document:Document] static constraints = { workgroup(nullable:false, blank:false) document(nullable:false, blank:false) } } I'm getting: 2009-11-15 16:46:12,298 [main] ERROR context.ContextLoader - Context initialization failed org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'messageSource': Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'transactionManager': Cannot resolve reference to bean 'sessionFactory' while setting bean property 'sessionFactory'; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'sessionFactory': Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.hibernate.MappingException: An association from the table doc_group_permissions refers to an unmapped class: java.util.BitSet Has anyone run into this before?

  • Programmatically Creating fieldset, ol/ul and li tags in ASP.Net, C#

    - by Matt
    Hi, I need to write an ASP.Net form which will produce the following HTML: <fieldset> <legend>Contact Details</legend> <ol> <li> <label for="name">Name:</label> <input id="name" name="name" class="text" type="text" /> </li> <li> <label for="email">Email address:</label> <input id="email" name="email" class="text" type="text" /> </li> <li> <label for="phone">Telephone:</label> <input id="phone" name="phone" class="text" type="text" /> </li> </ol> </fieldset> However, the fields which are to be added to the form will be determined at runtime, so I need to create the fieldset at runtime and add an ordered list and listitems to it, with labels, textboxes, checkboxes etc as appropriate. I can’t find standard ASP.Net objects which will create these tags. For instance, I’d like to do something like the following in C#: FieldSet myFieldSet = new FieldSet(); myFieldSet.Legend = “Contact Details”; OrderedList myOrderedList = new OrderedList(); ListItem listItem1 = new ListItem(); ListItem listItem2 = new ListItem(); ListItem listItem3 = new ListItem(); // code here which would add labels and textboxes to the ListItems myOrderedList.Controls.Add(listItem1); myOrderedList.Controls.Add(listItem2); myOrderedList.Controls.Add(listItem3); myFieldSet.Controls.Add(myOrderedList); Form1.Controls.Add(myFieldSet); Are there any standard ASP.Net objects which can produce this, or is there some other way of achieving the same result? • [Haskell] Problem when mixing type classes and type families

    - by Giuseppe Maggiore
    Hi! This code compiles fine: {-# LANGUAGE MultiParamTypeClasses, FunctionalDependencies, FlexibleInstances, UndecidableInstances, FlexibleContexts, EmptyDataDecls, ScopedTypeVariables, TypeOperators, TypeSynonymInstances, TypeFamilies #-} class Sel a s b where type Res a s b :: * instance Sel a s b where type Res a s b = (s -> (b,s)) instance Sel a s (b->(c,a)) where type Res a s (b->(c,a)) = (b -> s -> (c,s)) but as soon as I add the R predicate ghc fails: {-# LANGUAGE MultiParamTypeClasses, FunctionalDependencies, FlexibleInstances, UndecidableInstances, FlexibleContexts, EmptyDataDecls, ScopedTypeVariables, TypeOperators, TypeSynonymInstances, TypeFamilies #-} class Sel a s b where type Res a s b :: * instance Sel a s b where type Res a s b = (s -> (b,s)) class R a where type Rec a :: * cons :: a -> Rec a elim :: Rec a -> a instance Sel a s (b->(c,Rec a)) where type Res a s (b->(c,Rec a)) = (b -> s -> (c,s)) complaining that: Illegal type synonym family application in instance: b -> (c, Rec a) In the instance declaration for `Sel a s (b -> (c, Rec a))' what does it mean and (most importantly) how do I fix it? I'm not sure what is failing but I'm guessing something to do with the FK relationships... Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Thumbnails fadein fadeout specific div fade issues

    - by Omikron
    I am using this code to hide and show a div based on which thumbnail you rollover; $(document).ready(function(){ $('div.infodiv').hide(); $(".website_thumbs a").hover( function(){ var name = $(this).attr("name"); $(".infodiv").stop(); $("."+name).fadeIn(); }, function(){ var name = $(this).attr("name"); $("."+name).fadeTo(7000,1).fadeOut(); }); }); The script gets the name attribute from the thumbnail and displays the div with the corresponding class. Each div shares the .infodiv class but also has a class unique to each thumbnail. The functionality is basically where I want it but when you scroll over the thumbnails fast some of the divs get stuck in a kind of half faded-in state and stop working unless i roll over them once - then they slow fade in and they are usable again. I am a bit new to jQuery and would appreciate any help.

  • CharField values disappearing after save (readonly field)

    - by jamida
    I'm implementing simple "grade book" application where the teacher would be able to update the grades w/o being allowed to change the students' names (at least not on the update grade page). To do this I'm using one of the read-only tricks, the simplest one. The problem is that after the SUBMIT the view is re-displayed with 'blank' values for the students. I'd like the students' names to re-appear. Below is the simplest example that exhibits this problem. (This is poor DB design, I know, I've extracted just the relevant parts of the code to showcase the problem. In the real example, student is in its own table but the problem still exists there.) models.py class Grade1(models.Model): student = models.CharField(max_length=50, unique=True) finalGrade = models.CharField(max_length=3) class Grade1OForm(ModelForm): student = forms.CharField(max_length=50, required=False) def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): super(Grade1OForm,self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) instance = getattr(self, 'instance', None) if instance and instance.id: self.fields['student'].widget.attrs['readonly'] = True self.fields['student'].widget.attrs['disabled'] = 'disabled' def clean_student(self): instance = getattr(self,'instance',None) if instance: return instance.student else: return self.cleaned_data.get('student',None) class Meta: model=Grade1 views.py from django.forms.models import modelformset_factory def modifyAllGrades1(request): gradeFormSetFactory = modelformset_factory(Grade1, form=Grade1OForm, extra=0) studentQueryset = Grade1.objects.all() if request.method=='POST': myGradeFormSet = gradeFormSetFactory(request.POST, queryset=studentQueryset) if myGradeFormSet.is_valid(): myGradeFormSet.save() info = "successfully modified" else: myGradeFormSet = gradeFormSetFactory(queryset=studentQueryset) return render_to_response('grades/modifyAllGrades.html',locals()) template <p>{{ info }}</p> <form method="POST" action=""> <table> {{ myGradeFormSet.management_form }} {% for myform in myGradeFormSet.forms %} {# myform.as_table #} <tr> {% for field in myform %} <td> {{ field }} {{ field.errors }} </td> {% endfor %} </tr> {% endfor %} </table> <input type="submit" value="Submit"> </form>

  • Associations and the Grails webflow

    - by callie16
    Hi, it's my first time using webflows in Grails and I can't seem to solve this. I have 3 domain classes with associations that look something like this: class A { ... static hasMany = [ b : B ] ... } class B { ... static belongsTo = [ a : A ] static hasMany = [ c : C ] ... } class C { ... static belongsTo = [ b : B ] ... } Now, the GSP communicates with the controller via Javascript (due to my use of Dojo). When I try to remoteFunction a normal action, I can do something like this: def action1 = { def anId = params.id def currA = A.get(anId) def sample = currA.b?.c // I can get all the way to 'c' without any problems ... } However, I have a webflow and the contents of that action is in the webflow... It looks something like this: def someFlow = { ... someState { on("next") { def anId = params.id // this does NOT return a null value def currA = A.get(anId) // this does NOT return a null value def sample = currA.b // error already occurs here and I need to get 'c'! }.("somePage") ... } ... } In this case, it tells me that b doesn't exist... so I can't even get to 'c'. Any suggestions on what to do??? Thanks... getting real desperate...

  • Subscription website architecture questions + SQL Server & .NET

    - by chopps
    Hey Guys, I have a few questions about the architecture of a subscription service I am about to embark on and I am looking for some feedback on how best to set it up. I won’t have a large amount of customers as Basecamp, maybe a few hundred and was wondering what would be a solid architecture for setting up the customer sites. I’m running SQL Server and .NET on a dedicated machine. Should create a new database for each customer as to have control and isolation of data or keep them all in one database? I am also thinking of creating a sub-domain for each customer as well so modifications can be made to each site as needed. The customer URLs would look like this: https://customer1.foobar.com https://customer2.foobar.com I am going to have the ability to ‘plug-in’ reports that will be uploaded to the site so each customer can customize as needed. Off the top of my head this necessitates having each sub domain on its own code-base for the uploading of these reports. So on the main site the customer would sign up for their new subscription and I would programmatically create a new directory for the customer from the main code base and then create a sub domain pointing to the new directory for the customer and then finally their database. Does this sound about right? Am I on the right track? How do other such sites accomplish the same thing? Thanks for letting me bend your ear for a bit on this.

  • How can I make this work with deep properties

    - by Martin Robins
    Given the following code... class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Foo foo = new Foo { Bar = new Bar { Name = "Martin" }, Name = "Martin" }; DoLambdaStuff(foo, f => f.Name); DoLambdaStuff(foo, f => f.Bar.Name); } static void DoLambdaStuff<TObject, TValue>(TObject obj, Expression<Func<TObject, TValue>> expression) { // Set up and test "getter"... Func<TObject, TValue> getValue = expression.Compile(); TValue stuff = getValue(obj); // Set up and test "setter"... ParameterExpression objectParameterExpression = Expression.Parameter(typeof(TObject)), valueParameterExpression = Expression.Parameter(typeof(TValue)); Expression<Action<TObject, TValue>> setValueExpression = Expression.Lambda<Action<TObject, TValue>>( Expression.Block( Expression.Assign(Expression.Property(objectParameterExpression, ((MemberExpression)expression.Body).Member.Name), valueParameterExpression) ), objectParameterExpression, valueParameterExpression ); Action<TObject, TValue> setValue = setValueExpression.Compile(); setValue(obj, stuff); } } class Foo { public Bar Bar { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } class Bar { public string Name { get; set; } } The call to DoLambdaStuff(foo, f => f.Name) works ok because I am accessing a shallow property, however the call to DoLambdaStuff(foo, f => f.Bar.Name) fails - although the creation of the getValue function works fine, the creation of the setValueExpression fails because I am attempting to access a deep property of the object. Can anybody please help me to modify this so that I can create the setValueExpression for deep properties as well as shallow? Thanks.

  • Rails 3 : create two dimensional hash and add values from a loop

    - by John
    I have two models : class Project < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :ticket attr_accessible .... end class Ticket < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :project attr_accessible done_date, description, .... end In my ProjectsController I would like to create a two dimensional hash to get in one variable for one project all tickets that are done (with done_date as key and description as value). For example i would like a hash like this : What i'm looking for : @tickets_of_project = ["done_date_1" => ["a", "b", "c"], "done_date_2" => ["d", "e"]] And what i'm currently trying (in ProjectsController) ... def show # Get current project @project = Project.find(params[:id]) # Get all dones tickets for a project, order by done_date @tickets = Ticket.where(:project_id => params[:id]).where("done_date IS NOT NULL").order(:done_date) # Create a new hash @tickets_of_project = Hash.new {} # Make a loop on all tickets, and want to complete my hash @tickets.each do |ticket| # TO DO #HOW TO PUT ticket.value IN "tickets_of_project" WITH KEY = ticket.done_date ??** end end I don't know if i'm in a right way or not (maybe use .map instead of make a where query), but how can I complete and put values in hash by checking index if already exist or not ? Thanx :)

  • Perf4J Logging Config Help

    - by manyxcxi
    I currently have a long running process that I am trying to analyze with Perf4J. I currently have it writing results in CSV format to its own log file using the AsyncCoalescingStatisticsAppender and a StatisticsCsvLayout on the file appender. My question is; when I try and use the --graph option from the command line (using the perf4j jar) it isn't populating the data points- it isn't populating anything. Are my appenders set incorrectly? The log file contains hundreds (sometimes thousands) of data points of about 10 different tag names. <appender name="perfAppender" class="org.apache.log4j.FileAppender"> <param name="File" value="perfStats.log"/> <layout class="org.perf4j.log4j.StatisticsCsvLayout"> </layout> </appender> <appender name="CoalescingStatistics" class="org.perf4j.log4j.AsyncCoalescingStatisticsAppender"> <!-- The TimeSlice option is used to determine the time window for which all received StopWatch logs are aggregated to create a single GroupedTimingStatistics log. • wxPython, Threads, and PostEvent between modules

    - by Sam Starling
    I'm relatively new to wxPython (but not Python itself), so forgive me if I've missed something here. I'm writing a GUI application, which at a very basic level consists of "Start" and "Stop" buttons that start and stop a thread. This thread is an infinite loop, which only ends when the thread is stopped. The loop generates messages, which at the moment are just output using print. The GUI class and the infinite loop (using threading.Thread as a subclass) are held in separate files. What is the best way to get the thread to push an update to something like a TextCtrl in the GUI? I've been playing around with PostEvent and Queue, but without much luck. Here's some bare bones code, with portions removed to keep it concise: main_frame.py import wx from loop import Loop class MainFrame(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, parent, title): # Initialise and show GUI # Add two buttons, btnStart and btnStop # Bind the two buttons to the following two methods self.threads = [] def onStart(self): x = Loop() x.start() self.threads.append(x) def onStop(self): for t in self.threads: t.stop() loop.py class Loop(threading.Thread): def __init__(self): self._stop = threading.Event() def run(self): while not self._stop.isSet(): print datetime.date.today() def stop(self): self._stop.set() I did, at one point, have it working by having the classes in the same file by using wx.lib.newevent.NewEvent() along these lines. If anyone could point me in the right direction, that'd be much appreciated.

    it is like this: (function () { //codes here })(); here is an example: (function () { var D = TED.EditorCore, E = TED.extend, A = TED.EditorInstanceManager, B = TED.augmentObject; window.TED["SimpleEditor"] = C; function C(F) { C.superclass.call(this, F) } C.defaultConfig = { height: "100px", width: "400px", //blablabla... flashNumLimit: 10, didaDelay: 300, imageWidthLimit: 570 }; E(C, D, { getContentLength: function () { return Math.ceil(this.filteHTML(this.editArea.innerHTML, ["img", "br"]).replace(/<img[^>]*>/gi, "mm").replace(/<br[^>]*>/gi, "m").replace(/&nbsp;/gi, "m").replace(/[^\x00-\xff]/g, "mm").length / 2) }, filteEditHTML: function () { return html = this.editArea.innerHTML.replace(/_moz_dirty=""/gi, "").replace(/\[/g, "[[-").replace(/\]/g, "-]]").replace(new RegExp("<\\/?(?:br[^>]*)>", "gi"), "[$1]").replace(new RegExp('<span([^>]*class="?at"?[^>]*)>', "gi"), "[span$1]").replace(new RegExp('<img([^>]*class="?(?:' + this.config.emptyClassName + "|" + this.config.smileyClassName + ')"?[^>]*)>', "gi"), "[img$1]").replace(/<[^>]*>/g, "").replace(/\[\[\-/g, "[").replace(/\-\]\]/g, "]").replace(new RegExp("\\[(/?(?:br|img|span)[^\\]]*)\\]", "gi"), "<$1>") }, filteSubmitHTML: function () { this.reLayout(); var G = this.editArea.innerHTML.replace(/_moz_dirty=""/gi, "").replace(/\[/g, "[[-").replace(/\]/g, "-]]").replace(new RegExp("<(/?(?:" + this.submitValidHTML.join("|") + ")[^>]*)>", "gi"), "[$1]").replace(new RegExp('<img([^>]*class="?(?:' + this.config.imageClassName + "|" + this.config.smileyClassName + "|" + this.config.flashClassName + "|" + this.config.musicClassName + ')"?[^>]*)>', "gi"), "[img$1]").replace(/<[^>]*>/g, "").replace(/\[\[\-/g, "[").replace(/\-\]\]/g, "]").replace(new RegExp("\\[(/?(?:" + this.submitValidHTML.join("|") + "|img)[^\\]]*)\\]", "gi"), "<$1>"); var F = document.createElement("div"); F.innerHTML = G; this.parseURL(F); return F.innerHTML } }); B(C, A) })(); what exactly does (funtion (){})(); do?

  • Force compile-time linking of all classes in a SWC

    - by aaaidan
    Using Flash CS4, I am making a game that has a dozen or so sounds and a couple of music tracks. To cut down on publish/compile time, I have moved the sounds and music into an (external) SWC, which is located in a "Library Path" for the project. This works, but with a caveat... Until before I externalised the assets, I had been dynamically instantiating the Sound objects of the embedded sound by getting their classes with getDefinitionByName. // something like... var soundSubClass:Class = Class(getDefinitionByName(soundClassName)); var mySound:Sound = new soundSubClass(); But now that they're located in an external SWC, I need to have "concrete" references to the classes in order to load them like this, otherwise they are not included in the published SWF, and there is a runtime error when getDefinitionByName tries to get a class that doesn't exist. So, my question: in Flash Professional CS4, is there any way to force a library's assets to be included, regardless of whether they are statically linked? FlashDevelop has a compiler option "SWC Include Libraries", which is exactly what I want, and is distinct from the "SWC Libraries" option. The description of the "SWC Include Libraries" option is "Links all classes inside a SWC file to the resulting application SWF file, regardless of whether or not they are used." (Also, it's important to me that all the assets are contained within the one compiled SWF. Linking at runtime isn't what I'm after.)

  • YUI button onclick get value

    - by Simon
    I have a a set of yui buttons generated using the standard yui html. <span class="yui-button yui-checkbox-button" id="analystbutton1"> <span class="first-child"> <button type="button" class="facetbutton" tabindex="0" id="analystbutton1-button"> Joe Bloggs </button> </span> </span> I create the buttons like so, and I then have some javascript to create the button and the listener. var analystCButton1 = new YAHOO.widget.Button("analystbutton1", { type:"checkbox", value:"BLOGGS", checked:false }); analystCButton1.on("click", onFacetClick); Finally I have the onFacetClick function var onFacetClick = function (e) { // e is the event var target = YAHOO.util.Event.getTarget(e); var button = new YAHOO.widget.Button(target); alert(button.get('type')); alert(button.get('id')); alert(button.get('value')); }; When I click on any of my buttons the first two alerts display the type and id (although not what I would expect). I cannot get the value, the alert doesn't fire, but I see no error in FireBug or the error console. alert(button.get('type')); returns push - I would expect checkbox alert(button.get('id')); returns analystbutton1-button

  • Script working with mysql and php into a textarea and back

    - by Tribalcomm
    I am trying to write a custom script that will keep a list of strings in a textarea. Each line of the textarea will be a row from a table. The problem I have is how to work the script to allow for adding, updating, or deleting rows based on a submit. So, for instance, I currently have 3 rows in the database: john sue mark I want to be able to delete sue and add richard and it will delete the row with sue and insert a row for richard. My code so far is as follows: To query the db and list it in the textarea: $basearray = mysql_query("SELECT name FROM mytable ORDER BY name"); <textarea name="names" cols=6 rows=12>'); <?php foreach($basearray as $base){ echo $base->name."\n"; } ?> </textarea> After the submit, I have: <?php $namelist = $_REQUEST[names]; $newarray = explode("\n", $namelist); foreach($newarray as $name) { if (!in_array($name, $basearray)) { mysql_query(DELETE FROM mytable WHERE word='$name'"); } elseif (in_array($name, $basearray)) { ; } else { mysql_query("INSERT INTO mytable (name) VALUES ("$name")"); } } ?> Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I am not getting any functions to work when I edit the contents of the textarea. Thanks!

    - by paddydub
    I've just started using hibernate and I'm trying to map walking distance between two coordinates into a hashmap, There can be many connections from one "FromCoordinate" to another "ToCoordinate". I'm not sure if i've implemented this correctly, What annotations do i need to map this MashMap? Thanks HashMap coordWalkingConnections = new HashMap(); @Entity @Table(name = "COORDCONNECTIONS") public class CoordinateConnection implements Serializable{ private static final long serialVersionUID = -1624745319005591573L; /** auto increasing id number */ @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY) @Column(name = "ID") @id private int id; @Embedded public FromCoordinate fromCoord; @Embedded public ToCoordinate toCoord; HashMap<FromCoordinate, ArrayList<ToCoordinate >> coordWalkingConnections = new HashMap<FromCoordinate, ArrayList<ToCoordinate >>(); } public class FromCoordinate implements ICoordinate { @Column(name = "FROM_LAT") private double latitude; @Column(name = "FROM_LNG") private double longitude; } public class ToCoordinate implements ICoordinate { @Column(name = "TO_LAT") private double latitude; @Column(name = "TO_LNG") private double longitude; @Column(name = "DISTANCE") private double distance; } DATABASE STRUCTURE id FROM_LAT FROM_LNG TO_LAT TO_LNG Dist 1 43.352669 -6.264341 43.350012 -6.260653 0.38 2 43.352669 -6.264341 43.352669 -6.264341 0.00 3 46.352669 -6.264341 43.353373 -6.262013 0.17 4 47.352465 -6.265865 43.351290 -6.261200 0.25 5 45.452578 -6.265768 43.352788 -6.264396 0.01 6 45.452578 -6.265768 45.782788 -6.234523 0.01 ..... ... .   • Nested Object Forms not working as expected

    - by Craig Walker
    I'm trying to get a nested model forms view working. As far as I can tell I'm doing everything right, but it still does not work. I'm on Rails 3 beta 3. My models are as expected: class Recipe < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :ingredients, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :ingredients attr_accessible :name end class Ingredient < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name, :sort_order, :amount belongs_to :recipe end I can use Recipe.ingredients_attributes= as expected: recipe = Recipe.new recipe.ingredients_attributes = [ {:name=>"flour", :amount=>"1 cup"}, {:name=>"sugar", :amount=>"2 cups"}] recipe.ingredients.size # -> 2; ingredients contains expected instances However, I cannot create new object graphs using a hash of parameters as shown in the documentation: params = { :name => "test", :ingredients_attributes => [ {:name=>"flour", :amount=>"1 cup"}, {:name=>"sugar", :amount=>"2 cups"}] } recipe = Recipe.new(params) recipe.name # -> "test" recipe.ingredients # -> []; no ingredient instances in the collection Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Or is there a problem in the Rails 3 beta?
