  I have a rails controller file that is too large (~900 lines - api_controller). I'd like to just split it up like something like this: api_controller.rb api_controller_item_admin.rb api_controller_web.rb I don't want to split into multiple controllers. What would be the preferred way to do this? Could I just require the new parts at the end? like: require './api_controller_item_admin' require './api_controller_web'

• How do I configure SSIS logging to overwrite the log file?

  My SSIS package has logging configured with a SSIS log provider for text files, which works fine, but each time the package is run the log appends to the end of the log file. I want it to truncate the file and only keep the log from the most recent execution of the package, but I don't see an option anywhere to do that. I've tried both file usage types (Existing file and New file) in the File Connection manager with the same results.

  I'm using MonoTouch. When I rotate to LandscapeRight/Left I want to change the location of some of my buttons but I'm not having any success. I'm replacing the button.Bounds with a new rectangleF and setting that value in the WillRotate, but that's not working. I am returning true in my ShouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation handler. In principal what I'm trying to do is allow as much as possible to automatically rotate but then fix a couple of buttons that end up in a bad place.

• When you need pass by reference in Java to assign values to multiple parameters, how do you do it?

  In order to refactor some methods into smaller ones, I need pass by reference, since I can only have one return type. I could create a different return or parameter type whenever I need to do this, but then I'd end up with a bunch of bloated, seemingly unnecessary classes.   Do you know any easy way to know what is the length of current selection in Eclipse? I.e. I select a line fragment and would like to know how many characters are there? Usually I count them manually, but that's stupid. When being desperate I move to the start, check the column number, move to the end, check the column number, subtract, think a minute if I should add 1 or not... and my selection is lost.
