• how can c# help in drawing using memory layers concept?

  hello all i am facing problem in drawing dynamically in a picture box. i works very good when the drawing objects are few but as the drawing objects increases the response time of my GUI is getting worse and worse, my GUI works very well up to 90 drawing objects but i have to support more than 1000 so this technique didn't work for me. know i have decided to adopt layers mechanism, i mean i will draw different layers of drawing in memory and then XOR them to load the final image to my display. the question is "i Can play directly with memory do draw layers using C# (Examples needed?)" other ideas are also appreciated, (Drawing objects means the shapes line,circles etc. that i have to draw on my GUI) thanx in advance

• UIScrollView Does not Scroll

  I have added a long info screen to my iPhone app. The info is a long UIImageView, and it is contained inside a UIScrollView. They are both defined in .xib file. At run-time, initially I set scrollview's position outside window, and when user clicks a button, set its position inside window. This part is OK. But scrollview displays the image but does not scroll. Isn't it enough to place in MainViewContoller.xib, set the contained content, and (at code) set its contentSize equal to the content's size? BTW: I try it at simulator currently.

• How can I export images from SQL Server to a file on disk?

  I have a User table that has all of their avatars saved in an image field. I'd like to just take that out of the database and store it as a regular file on disk. I looked around and saw some code for textcopy, but that doesn't seem to be on my machine for some reason. Here is the code I wrote up anyway. Anyone know a way to get this done? • paket drop and splits in udp tunnel

  hi guys ! Currently I am working on video conferencing project.For this i m using pwnat for nat traversing. pwnat is based on udp tunneling.I m using the TCP connection for data transmission. My problem is that when i send a packet , it does not reach properly at its destination side . Sometime it drops the packet and many times it breaks ( split ) the packet into pieces. Please Help me .. How can i send and recieve a packet into single piece. So, i can draw image properly and play sound. Any kind of help will be appriciated . Thanks in advance

• Calculate proportional width of object (proportion: 1600x1080)

  Hello, this jquery question: when I set a specific height to a "#div", i want to set the width of a inner object automatically too (cause i need a width to read it out) [ "#div" ["object"] ] example: (object).css(width: [ CALCULATION ], height: ($("#div").height())+'px' ) the original proportion of the image is: 1600x1080 here's the link to the attachment, take a look at it (tinypic): link text the heights "500px", "600px" and "700px" you can see in the attachment are just examples, the heigth could also be "711px", "623px", "998px" etc. cause the "#div" scales with the browser (i can read out the height of window, that works) my math skills aren't really good, would be great if someone could help me out :-)

• SQL Server adding a record record manually to a view

  I have a view which contains the data seen in the image below. The view is showing me how many working days are available in each month for the current financial year taking away any school/bank holidays. As the month of August has zero days available it has excluded this month from the view. As the total number of days available will always be zero for the month of August, then it seems acceptable to hardcode the SQL to always have 0 for August, and also an April-August record which will be the same as April-July. • directx audio video error message in debugmode

  I have a c#/winforms application that uses directx to play some video and audio. whenever i start my application in debugmode i get this annoying message. i can click "continue" and everything seems to work fine. but i still want to get rid of this message. it does not show up in releasemode. • Element point map for html5 canvas element, need algorithm

  I'm currently working on a pure html 5 canvas implementation of the "flying tag cloud sphere", which many of you have undoubtedly seen as a flash object in some pages. The tags are drawn fine, and the performance is satisfactory, but there's one thing in the canvas element that's kind of breaking this idea: you can't identify the objects that you've drawn on a canvas, as it's just a simple flat "image".. What I have to do in this case is catch the click event, and try to "guess" which element was clicked. So I have to have some kind of matrix, which stores a link to a tag object for each pixel on the canvas, AND I have to update this matrix on every redraw. Now this sounds incredibly inefficient, and before I even start trying to implement this, I want to ask the community - is there some "well known" algorithm that would help me in this case? Or maybe I'm just missing something, and the answer is right behind the corner? :)

  I am using Jquery to make an image scroll across my page horizontally. The only problem is that it uses a serious amount of cpu usage. Up to 100% on a single core laptop in firefox. What could cause this??? • Getting Google Chrome to Ignore IE Javascript

  I'm creating a slideshow using javascript that fades images. Awhile back, I discovered that to change the opacity of an image, I have to use a different API, depending on whether the page is viewed in Firefox or IE. Firefox: img.style.opacity = [value 0 to 1]; IE: img.style.filter="progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity= [value 0 to 100] )"; So, currently, I use <script LANGUAGE="JScript"> for code that is meant for IE. This was suggested in the Mozilla docs. The problem: Chrome thinks my <script LANGUAGE="JScript"> code is valid, when it is not. How to make Chrome ignore the code inside <script LANGUAGE="JScript"> ? Or how to make my opacity code cross-browser?

• listview tile layout problem (vb.net)

  hi guys, I have a listview which displays (eventually) an album cover of an itunes play list with the album name under it. the problem I am having is that I cannot get the album art (currently a blank square) ABOVE the album name. It always is on the side... how do I do it? • Transform PDF to HTML, keep layout

  What methods are there to transform a PDF to HTML? It could be anything - online service, software, library. (Opensource preferred. In the last case, php or python would be preferred.) It has to keep the original layout (including page numbers, footnotes and such), keep the images (combining them to one single background image per page is acceptable) and keep the links. It should preferably output valid XHTML and clean up PDF features such as ligatures, but if there is some post-processing required, I can live with that. Something with a clean, relatively semantic HTML output would be great. The closest one I found was zamzar.org, but it choked on links. (Also, the HTML output is an ugly heap of absolutely positioned divs and needs post-processing because of encoding problems.)

• NSURL not instantiating properly

  Hi, I am new to IPhone developing. I have got very strange issue with NSURL which is driving me crazy. I want to instantiate NSURL object to use it in loading image. But instantiation never happens in proper way. It always says my url in invalid. Basically I use code like below: NSString *str = @"http://google.com"; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:str]; but I also have tried a lot of different modifications (with CFStringRef + CFURLCreateStringByAddingPercentEscapes and so on). All of them are not working for me. In debugger url is set to "Invalid". What it could be? I don't think this is algorithmic or environment issue. It could be about some settings? Have anyone any idea of what happens?

  my applicationen consists of App.cs/App.xaml and some other files. Everything is compiled to an exe file. However, I want a 2. application, which should reference the first one. In this Application is a class derived from App. But when I call the the Run() function I get an very stragne error in a xaml code of the first application, saying that some image files could not be loaded. I had a similar architecture when i was using Windows Forms and it worked fine.

• Using type hints in Clojure for Java return values

  I'm working on some Java / Clojure interoperability and came across a reflection warning for the following code: (defn load-image [resource-name] (javax.imageio.ImageIO/read (.getResource (class javax.imageio.ImageIO) resource-name))) => Reflection warning, clojure/repl.clj:37 - reference to field read can't be resolved. I'm surprised at this because getResource always returns a URL and I would therefore expect the compiler to use the appropriate static method in javax.imageio.ImageIO/read. The code works fine BTW so it is clearly finding the right method at run time. So two questions: Why is this returning a reflection warning? What type hint do I need to fix this?

• How to detect default printer properties from browser?

  Regardless of if this is a good idea or not, is it possible to detect printer attributes from the browser? The idea is that you want to print out a brochure that's selling something. Depending on different things such as if the printer is black&white/colour, high/low resolution, laser/inkjet, printing to a file, etc, you want to print out the page differently. For example you might choose different text colours or fonts, different image sizes, etc. My initial thoughts are: ActiveX, Flash, Java, Silverlight, browser plugins. Kudos if it's possible in javascript. I'm interested in all ways to do this, cross browser or not. Please no reasons about why this shouldn't be done ^_^

I'm wondering if its possible to remove the "Tokyo, New York, Berlin, London" on the right side of the image? I would like to add a discription my self, and remove the exsisting one. • Bound a treeview control to user-defined complex type using EF 4

  Hi, I use Asp.net, SQL 2008 and EF 4. I need display hierarchy data in a treeview control, Data is stored in a DB that use HierarchyId. Unfortunately, EF4 doesn't support HierarchyId. So in this case, I thought to have a stored procedure that deals with my hierarchy and return a result set back to EF that EF4 can turn into a collection of user-defined complex type that can then be bound directly to the treeview control. I imported a SPROC in EF 4 using Import Function and now I have a Complex DataType called: CategoryHierarchy_Result An image of my Model: Here some data from the Complex Type (in a GridView for example GridView1.DataSource = context.CategoryHierarchy(1);): My questions is: How to display my data from my Complex Type in a TreeView Control, showing a Tree structure that respect CategoryNodeString? I am a beginner an I never use TreeView before, any help or resource would be appreciated! Thanks!. • Google Maps custom marker - can the iframe accept one like the static maps?

  I was reading the static maps API, and it says you can include a custom marker in the GET params. You simply link to an image file. I now have a second Google Map within an iframe, and was wondering if you can attach custom markers via the GET params to it? Here is the src attribute of the iframe currently. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=111+Fake+Street+Noosaville+Queensland+Australia&ie=UTF8&output=embed I can't seem to find the documentation on how to do this, if possible.
