  • listbox select count not work dont work

    - by sadpcd
    I recently trying to make a form with multiple select box. When someone select the options the number of selected options will be display on another text. I'm a beginner in JavaScript. The function is called, but it doesn't count the number of the selected options. <select name="element_17_1[ ]" size="7" multiple="multiple" class="element select medium" id="element_17_1[ ]" onfocus="selectCount(this.form);" onClick="selectCount(this.form);" > <option value="Opt1">Opt1</option> <option value="Opt2">Opt2</option> <option value="Opt3">Opt3</option> <option value="Opt4">Opt4</option> <option value="Opt5">Opt5</option> <option value="Opt6">Opt6</option> <option value="Opt7">Opt7</option> </select> and this is the function I tried in the <head> function selectCount(f) { var selObj = myForm.elements['element_17_1[]']; var totalChecked = 0; for (i = 0; i < selObj.options.length; i++) { if (selObj.options[i].selected) { totalChecked++; } } f.element_9.value = totalChecked; }

  • .Net file writing and string splitting issues

    - by sagar
    I have a requirement where the file should be split using a given character. Default splitting options are CRLF and LF In both these cases I am splitting the line by \r\n and \r respectively. Also I have requirement where any size of file should be processed. (Processing is basically inserting the given string in a file at given position). For this I am reading the file in chunk of 1024 bytes. Then I am applying the string.Split() method. Split() method gives options for ignoring white spaces and none. I have to add back these line break characters to the line. for this I am using a binary writer and I am writing the byte array to the new file. Issue:- 1) When line break is CRLF, and the split option is NONE, while spaces are also added in the splitted array. Second option is given (to ignore white spaces) CRLF works properly. 2)Bit ignoring white space option creates other problems, as I am reading the file byte by byte I can't ignore a white space. 3)When line break characters are other than default(e.g. '|', a null value is prepended to the resulting line. Can anybody give solution to my issues?

  • How to break an object into chunks based on some property?

    - by CurlyFro
    public class InvestorMailing { public string To { get; set; } public IEnumerable<string> Attachments { get; set; } public int AttachmentCount { get; set; } public long AttachmentSize { get; set; } } i have an IList<InvestorMailing> mailingList. if the attachment size is greater than x, then i need to split my object into chunks. is there an easy linq-y way to do this? Edited: this is how i'm generating my mailings: var groupedMailings = mailingList.GroupBy(g => g.GroupBy); var investorMailings = groupedMailings.Select( g => new DistinctInvestorMailing { Id = g.Select(x => x.Id).FirstOrDefault(), To = g.Key.Trim(), From = g.Select(x => x.From).FirstOrDefault(), FromName = g.Select(x => x.FromName).FirstOrDefault(), Bcc = g.Select(x => x.Bcc).FirstOrDefault(), DeliveryCode = g.Select(x => x.DeliveryCode).FirstOrDefault(), Subject = g.Select(x => x.Subject).FirstOrDefault(), Body = g.Select(x => x.Body).FirstOrDefault(), CommentsOnStatus = g.Select(x => x.CommentsOnStatus).FirstOrDefault(), Attachments = g.Select(x => x.AttachmentPath), AttachmentCount = g.Select(x => x.AttachmentPath).Count(), AttachmentSize = g.Sum(x => x.AttachmentSize), MailType = g.Select(x => x.MessageType).FirstOrDefault() } ).ToList();

  • Setting default values for object properties in AS3

    - by Paul T
    I'm an actionscript newbie so please bear with me. Below is a function, and I am curious how to set default property values for objects that are being created in a loop. In the example below, these propeties are the same for each object created in the loop: titleTextField.selectable, titleTextField.wordWrap, titleTextField.x If you pull these properties out of the loop, they are null because the TextField objects have not been created, but it seems silly to have to set them each time. What is the correct way to do this. Thanks! var titleTextFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat(); titleTextFormat.size = 10; titleTextFormat.font = "Arial"; titleTextFormat.color = 0xfff200; for (var i=0; i<arrThumbPicList.length; i++) { var yPos = 55 * i var titleTextField:TextField = new TextField(); titleTextField.selectable = false; titleTextField.wordWrap = true; titleTextField.text = arrThumbTitles[i]; titleTextField.x = 106; titleTextField.y = 331 + yPos; container.addChild(titleTextField); titleTextField.setTextFormat(titleTextFormat); }

  • Assigning values from list to list excluding nulls

    - by GutierrezDev
    Hi. Sorry for the title but I don't know other way of asking. I got 2 Dictionary < string,string list One of them has a length of 606 items including null values. The other one has a length of 285 items. I determined the length doing this: int count = 0; for (int i = 0; i < temp.Length; i++) { if (temp[i] != null) count++; } Now I want to assign every value in the temp variable to another variable excluding the null values. Any Idea? Remember that I have a different size variables. Edited Dictionary<string, string>[] info; Dictionary<string, string>[] temp = new Dictionary<string, string>[ds.Tables[0].Rows.Count]; .... Here I added some data to the Temp variable ..... Then this: int count = 0 for (int i = 0; i < temp.Length; i++) { if (temp[i] != null) count++; } info = new Dictionary<string, string>[count]; Hope you understand now.

  • Main purpose of this task is to calculate volumes and surface areas of three dimensional geometric shapes like, cylinders, cones.

    - by Csc_Girl_Geek
    In Java Language Design your classes as below introducing: an Interface named “GeometricShapes” an abstract class named “ThreeDShapes” two child classes of ThreeDShapes: Cylinders and Cones. One test class names “TestShapes” Get the output for volumes and surface areas of cylinders and cones along with respective values of their appropriate input variables. Try to use toString() method and array. Your classes should be designed with methods that are required for Object-Oriented programming. So Far I Have: package Assignment2; public interface GeometricShapes { public void render(); public int[] getPosition(); public void setPosition(int x, int y); } package Assignment2; public abstract class ThreeDShapes implements GeometricShapes { public int[] position; public int[] size; public ThreeDShapes() { } public int[] getPosition() { return position; } public void setPosition(int x, int y) { position[0] = x; position[1] = y; } } package Assignment2; public class Cylinders extends ThreeDShapes { public Cylinder() { } public void render() { } } I don't think this is right and I do not know how to fix it. :( Please help.

  • When to use () with classes?

    - by SoulBeaver
    This is really starting to confuse the hell out of me. When do I use them, when don't I? For example I was reading a .cpp on linked lists whose class declaration was: struct CarPart { long PartNumber; char Partname[40]; double UnitPrice; CarPart *next; }; class ListOfParts { int size; public: CarPart *head; ListOfParts(); ~ListOfParts(); const int count() const; void insert( CarPart *item ); CarPart *retrieve( int pos ); }; With this code, why am I allowed to write ListOfParts *pPart = new ListOfParts(); CarPart *pCarPart = new CarPart; Declaring an instance of ListOfParts requires (), but not my CarPart? That's confusing me. When I asked a question before and people told me that such a declaration is a function that returns a ListOfParts object, but not the actual constructor. So I'm guessing this is still something different. What's happening here? PS: Am I correct to assume that the const to the right of count() means I cannot modify any values in count?

  • How should I solve this MySql problem (PHP) ? (Beginner)

    - by Camran
    I have several tables in a MySql database. I have a classifieds website, and at the bottom I display the users last visited classifieds. I do this by storing the ID:s of the ads to an array in the cookie. Now, my db is made up like this kindof: Main Table: // Stores global information, ie these fields have to be filled out in every record, never be blank ID Price category Seller Item Table: // Stores descriptive info about whats for sale ID AD_ID (FK) //This is the same as ID in the MAIN TABLE Color Size Mileage etc My problem is that I need to know what category the ad is in, in order to query mysql for the right information I think. So I need two variables, but the cookie only has one (ID) stored. Offcourse I could make two queries, first one just matching the ID to the main_table and fetch the category from the Main_table. Then make the second query and fetch all other info from the right table. Here is an example if the category was Vehicles: SELECT * FROM main_table, vehicles_table, WHERE main_table.id=$id_from_cookie AND main_table.ad_id=vehicles_table.ad_id As you can see above, I need the category to write in what table to check, right? But I think there must be a smarter way, like fetching them in one single query using only one variable (id from cookie)? How should I do this? Understand? Let me know if you need more input... Thanks

  • How to make a multi vector in C++

    - by Bob Dealio
    I was wondering why can't I have a multi vectors in C ++ /please take a look at this example, it's not working though. there are only two parts to the code, foo function to manipulate the vector and the main function to echo them. typedef vector< vector<double> > MyVec; MyVec foo() { MyVec v; for (int index=0; index < 2; index ++) { for (int j=0; j<5; j++) { v[index][j]; } } return v; } int main () { MyVec z = foo(); for (int i = 0; i < z.size(); i++) { cout << z[i][1]; } return 0; }

  • array multiplication task

    - by toby
    I am tying to get around how you will multiply the values in 2 arrays (as an input) to get an output. The problem I have is the how to increment the loops to achieve the task shown below #include <iostream> using namespace std; main () { int* filter1, *signal,fsize1=0,fsize2=0,i=0; cout<<" enter size of filter and signal"<<endl; cin>> fsize1 >> fsize2; filter1= new int [fsize1]; signal= new int [fsize2]; cout<<" enter filter values"<<endl; for (i=0;i<fsize1;i++) cin>>filter1[i]; cout<<" enter signal values"<<endl; for (i=0;i<fsize2;i++) cin>>signal[i]; /* the two arrays should be filled by users but use the arrays below for test int array1[6]={2,4,6,7,8,9}; int array2[3]={1,2,3}; The output array should be array3[9]={1*2,(1*4+2*2),(1*6+2*4+3*2),........,(1*9+2*8+3*7),(2*9+3*8),3*9} */ return 0; } This is part of a bigger task concerning filter of a sampled signal but it is this multiplication that i cant get done.

  • Struct arrays in C

    - by ThomasTheTankEngine
    Hi I'm having trouble trying to initializing each element of the struct array. When I try and assign the value ZERO to both 'bSize' and 'msgs', it doesn't work as it errors out when i get to malloc. In the printf statement it prints a -1852803823 number. Excuse the messy code as i'm playing around trying to figure it out. struct message{ int *data; int bSize; int msgs; }; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { ..... } void getSchedFile (FILE *file, int **schd) { struct message sMsg[nodeCount]; const int pakSize = 6; // Iniitialise message buffer for (int i=0; i<nodeCount; i++){ sMsg[i].bSize = 0; sMsg[i].msgs = 0; printf("bSize %d\n",sMsg[i].bSize); } /* Get the number of bytes */ fseek(file, 0L, SEEK_SET); int time; while((fscanf(file, "%d", &time)) != EOF){ int src; fscanf(file, "%d", &src); // get source node id // These are here for easier reading code int aPos = sMsg[src].bSize; int nMsg = sMsg[src].msgs; printf("size %d\n", sMsg[src].bSize); if (sMsg[src].bSize==0){ sMsg[src].data = malloc( pakSize * sizeof(int)); }else{ sMsg[src].data = realloc(sMsg[src].data, (aPos+pakSize)*sizeof(int)); }

  • php Mail function; Is this way of using it safe?

    - by Camran
    I have a classifieds website, and inside each classified, there is a small form. This form is for users to be able to tip their "friends": <form action="/bincgi/tip.php" method="post" name="tipForm" id="tipForm"> Tip: <input name="email2" id="email2" type="text" size="30 /> <input type="submit" value="Skicka Tips"/> <input type="hidden" value="<?php echo $ad_id;?>" name="ad_id2" id="ad_id2" /> <input type="hidden" value="<?php echo $headline;?>" name="headline2" id="headline2" /> </form> The form is then submitted to a tip.php page, and here is my Q, is this below code safe, ie is it good enough or do I need to make some sanitations and more safety details? $to = filter_var($_POST['email2'], FILTER_SANITIZE_EMAIL); $ad_id = $_POST['ad_id2']; $headline = $_POST['headline2']; $subject = 'You got a tip'; $message ='Hi. You got a tip: '.$headline.'.\n'; $headers = 'From: [email protected]\r\n'; mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers); I haven't tested the above yet.

  • Using Color.rgb() doesnt work for full 0...255 range

    - by superflyninja
    I'm writing an android game using opengl. I'm using: colour = Color.rgb(theR,theG,theB); (all ints) to store the color of a rectangle. Then I parse out the RGB to render the rectangle: colorR = Color.red(color); colorG = Color.green(color); colorB = Color.blue(color); For example for color 53,130,255 this should result in a blue but on my app it results in a white. If i use 1,1,1 i get white. If i use 0,0,0 i get black. If i use 0,1,0 I get green etc. So it looks like any value over one is treated as 1 and so i am not getting the full 0...255 range. I tried using Color.argb and color = Color.parseColor(theColor) where the Color is a string. I'm using this in an opengles app. I have a class to display a rectangle of color. This definitely works fine as the correct size rectangle is rendered, just not a color using values above 1. I also use textures and everything displays fine. any ideas? thanks a million

  • How to identify end of InputStream in java

    - by Vardhaman
    I am trying to read bytes from server using Socket program, ie I am using InputStream to read the bytes. If I pass the length size I am able to read the bytes, but I am not sure what may be the length. So I am not able initialize the byte array. Also I tried while (in.read() !=-1), I observered it loop works fine when the data is sent , but the next line after the loop is not executable , I feel its still looking for the data in the stream but there is no ata. If I close the Server connection , then my client will execute the next line followed to the loop. I am not sure where I am going wrong? this.in = socket.getInputStream(); int dataInt = this.in.read(); while(dataInt != -1){ System.out.print(","+i+"--"+dataInt); i++; dataInt = this.in.read(); } System.out.print("End Of loop"); I get the output as:- ,1--0,2--62,3--96,4--131,5--142,6--1,7--133,8--2,9--16,10--48,11--56,12--1,13--0,14--14,15--128,16--0,17--0,18--0,19--48,20--0,21--0,22--0,23--0,24--0,25--1,26--0,27--0,28--38,29--114,30--23,31--20,32--70,33--3,34--20,35--1,36--133,37--48,38--51,39--49,40--52,41--49,42--55,43--49,44--52,45--52,46--54,47--55,48--50,49--51,50--52,51--48,52--53,53--56,54--51,55--48,56--48,57--57,58--57,59--57,60--57,61--57,62--57,63--57,64--56 But no output for :- End Of loop Please guide how shall I close the loop? • Call a Javascript Function with Jquery

    - by danit
    I have two functions in Javascript: function getWindowWidth(){ var x = 0; if (self.innerHeight){ x = self.innerWidth; }else if (document.documentElement && document.documentElement.clientHeight){ x = document.documentElement.clientWidth; }else if (document.body){ x = document.body.clientWidth; }return x; }function getWindowHeight(){ var y = 0; if (self.innerHeight){ y = self.innerHeight; }else if (document.documentElement && document.documentElement.clientHeight){ y = document.documentElement.clientHeight; }else if (document.body){ y = document.body.clientHeight; } These appear to set the height and width of the document window, based on the size of the window? I could be wrong here.... What I have done is embeded a toolbar above this document, this toolbar can be hidden or shown at various points. I need the above function to be called when I use the following jQuery, $("#Main").animate({top: "89px"}, 200); Any assistance greatly appreciated!

  • Another C++ question, delete not working?

    - by kyeana
    New to c++, and am having a problem with delete and destructor (I am sure i am making a stupid mistake here, but haven't been able to figure it out as of yet). When i step through into the destructor, and attepmt to call delete on a pointer, the message shows up "Cannot access memory at address some address." The relevant code is: /* * Removes the front item of the linked list and returns the value stored * in that node. * * TODO - Throws an exception if the list is empty */ std::string LinkedList::RemoveFront() { LinkedListNode *n = pHead->GetNext(); // the node we are removing std::string rtnData = n->GetData(); // the data to return // un-hook the node from the linked list pHead->SetNext(n->GetNext()); n->GetNext()->SetPrev(pHead); // delete the node delete n; n=0; size--; return rtnData; } and /* * Destructor for a linked node. * * Deletes all the dynamically allocated memory, and sets those pointers to 0. */ LinkedListNode::~LinkedListNode() { delete pNext; // This is where the error pops up delete pPrev; pNext=0; pPrev=0; }

  • Timer in Java swing

    - by Yesha
    I'm trying to replace Thread.sleep with a java swing timer as I hear that is much better for graphics. Before, I had something set up like this, but it was interfering with the graphics. while(counter < array.size){ Thread.sleep(array.get(counter).startTime); //do first task Thread.sleep(array.get(counter).secondTime); //do second task Thread.sleep(array.get(counter).thirdTime); //do third task counter++ } Now, I'm trying to replace each Thread.sleep with one of these and then I have the actual events that happen after this, but it does not seem to be waiting at all. int test = array.get(counter).time; ActionListener taskPerformer = new ActionListener(){ public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt){ } }; Timer t = new Timer(test, taskPerformer); t.setRepeats(false); t.start(); Basically, how do I ensure that the program will wait without giving it any code to execute inside of the timer? Thank you!

  • Manage the scrolling of just one element in a ScrollView

    - by morgan1189
    So, I have a ScrollView which has cards on it. ScrollView must be paging enabled. The goal is that the user must be able to scroll it, even if it has only one card. Since i am having the frame of ScrollView of exactly the same width and height as a picture of a card, i decided to increase the width of a ScrollView.contentSize and add one point to it. It turns out to be working fine, but it glitches a bit - when i drag the card to the left, and then grab it again it moves to right a little bit (i guess, for the value of that one point). If i increase the contentSize, the shift increases too (for example, if the content size is increased by ten, the shift value is ten points too). It really irritates me a lot and I want to get rid of it. Any advice on how to do that? Help is much appreciated. UPD: I tried to manually re-center the card in the scrollViewDidEndDecelerating but that didn't help. My guess for now is that the problem can be solved by setting the content offset to the right value (because now it's (0,0)), but I can't figure out how to do it.

  • Windows File I/O Reading

    - by eyeanand
    Currently working on open/read images in VC++. Some examples i came across on the internet use Windows.h I/O routines like ReadFile...but there seems to be inconsistency in there declaration. Here's what i have got. //So i have this function to load file BYTE* LoadFile ( int* width, int* height, long* size, LPCWSTR bmpfile ) { BITMAPFILEHEADER bmpheader; BITMAPINFOHEADER bmpinfo; DWORD bytesread = 0; HANDLE file = CreateFile ( bmpfile , GENERIC_READ, FILE_SHARE_READ,NULL, OPEN_EXISTING, FILE_FLAG_SEQUENTIAL_SCAN, NULL ); if ( NULL == file ) return NULL; if ( ReadFile ( file, &bmpheader, sizeof ( BITMAPFILEHEADER ),&bytesread, NULL ) == false ) { CloseHandle ( file ); return NULL; } . . . return appropriate value; } Now the ReadFile API function is declared as follows in WinBase.h WINBASEAPI BOOL WINAPI ReadFile( In HANDLE hFile, Out LPVOID lpBuffer, In DWORD nNumberOfBytesToRead, _Out_opt_ LPDWORD lpNumberOfBytesRead, _Inout_opt_ LPOVERLAPPED lpOverlapped ); And in MSDN examples... They call this function like this. ReadFile(hFile, chBuffer, BUFSIZE, &dwBytesRead, NULL) Which expects that "bytesRead" is sort of out parameter. so it gives me number of bytes read. But in my code ..it is giving error message. 'ReadFile' : cannot convert parameter 4 from 'LPDWORD *' to 'LPDWORD' so i just initialized bytesRead to 0 and passed by value.( which is wrong..but just to check if it works ). then it gives this exception Unhandled exception at 0x774406ae in ImProc.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x00000000. Kindly suggest . Kindly tell if any code i missed out....including while forming the question itself. Thanks.

I know that it is the "$totalRows = mysql_num_rows($result_mon);" statement because when i then comment it out, the page can load. Am i using the function in the wrong way? Thanks.

I am only worried about the ones with int values. I also only want the ones that start with GHI_ if possible but not a big deal.

    - by kylex
    http://jsfiddle.net/GGsEt/3/ Works on firefox HTML <ul> <li class="lib_undefined"> <span class="hidden_toggle"> <a href="/">Test</a> </span> </li> </ul> ? CSS .hidden_toggle{ text-align: center; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 600; color: #999; line-height: 80px; display: none; } .hidden_toggle a{ color: #999; border: none; display: block; width: 100%; height: 90px; } .lib_undefined{ min-height: 90px; border: 1px solid #000; } jQuery $('.lib_undefined').hover(function(){ $(this).children('.hidden_toggle').fadeToggle(); });? Any known fixes? The a tag needs to fill the entire li, which is why display is set to block.
