Opening HTML Table in Excel - numbers are getting changed

Override variables while testing a standalone Perl script

There is a Perl script in our environment that I now need to maintain. It is full of bad practices, including using (and re-using) global variables throughout the script. Before I start making changes to the script, I was going to try to write some test scripts so I can have a good regression base. To do this, I was going to use a method described on this page. I was starting by writing tests for a single subroutine. I put this line somewhat near the top of the script I am testing: return 1 if ( caller() ); That way, in my test script, I can require 'script_to_test.pl'; and it won't execute the whole script. The first subroutine I was going to test makes a lot of use of global variables that are set throughout the script. My thought was to try to override these variables in my test script, something like this: require_ok('script_to_test.pl'); $var_from_other_script = 'Override Value'; ok( sub_from_other_script() ); Unfortunately (for me), the script I am testing has a massive "my" block at the top, where it declares all variables used in the script. This prevents my test script from seeing/changing the variables in the script I'm running tests against. I've played with Exporter, Test::Mock..., and some other modules, but it looks like if I want to be able to change any variables I am going to have to modify the other script in some fashion. My goal is to not change the other script, but to get some good tests running so when I do start changing the other script, I can make sure I didn't break anything. The script is about 10,000 lines (3,000 of them in the main block), so I'm afraid that if I start changing things, I will affect other parts of the code, so having a good test suite would help. Is this possible? Can a calling script modify variables in another script declared with "my"? And please don't jump in with answers like, "Just re-write the script from scratch", etc. That may be the best solution, but it doesn't answer my question, and we don't have the time/resources for a re-write.

Hi I'm making a website using JSP and servlets and I have to now break up a list of radio buttons to insert a textarea and a button. I have got the button and textarea to hide and show when you click on the radio button it shows the text area and button. But this only appears at the top and when there are hundreds on the page this will become awkward so i need a way for it to appear underneath. show/hide html table columns using css

I want to display a basic html table with controls to toggle showing/hiding of additional columns: <table id="mytable"> <tr> <th>Column 1</th> <th class="col1">1a</th> <th class="col1">1b</th> <th>Column 2</th> <th class="col2">2a</th> <th class="col2">2b</th> </tr> <tr> <td>100</td> <td class="col1">40</td> <td class="col1">60</td> <td>200</td> <td class="col2">110</td> <td class="col2">90</td> </tr> </table> So Column 1 and Column 2 will be the only columns displayed by default - but when you click on the Column 1 I want 1a and 1b to toggle, and same with Column 2 with 2a and 2b. I may end up with more columns and lots of rows - so any javascript looping approaches have been too slow to work with when I tested. The only approach that seems to be fast enough is to set up some css like this: table.hide1 .col1 { display: none; } table.hide2 .col2 { display: none; } table.hide3 .col3 { display: none; } table.show1 .col1 { display: table-cell; } table.show2 .col2 { display: table-cell; } table.show3 .col3 { display: table-cell; } And then set up onClick function calls on the table header cells that will trigger a toggle - and determine which css class to set "mytable" to that will create the toggle effect that I'm looking for. Is there an easy way to set this up so that the code can work for n # of columns?

Flash caroussel xml parse html link

Hello I am trying to modify a carousel script I have in flash. Its normal function is making some icons rotate and when clicked they zoom in, fade all others and display a little text. On that text I would like to have a link like a "read more". If I use CDATA it wont display a thing, if I use alt char like <a href="www.google.com"> Read more + </a> It just displays the text as: <a href="www.google.com"> Read more + </a>. The flash dynamic text box wont render it as html. I dont enough as2 to figure out how to add this. Image Hover-HTML CSS

I am having trouble creating a different image to appear when you place your curser over the original image. How to make html image clickable inside a TextView

I have the following text in a string in the resources file: <a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail_big" /></a> It shows the image fine (I implemented ImageGetter) but it is not clickable. I have tried adding the Linkify thingy but I don't think it's meant for this case, and so it doesn't work. The setMovementMethod doesn't work either. I have tried different combinations of the above: <a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail_big" />hello</a> Here, even the "hello" part is not clickable (neither blue nor underlined). <a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail_big" /></a> This doesn't even show the image. <a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail_big" /></a> If I just write the email, without the <a> tag it works perfectly, but I would like to use the image of an envelope that the user can click on. It's not possible to use an imagebutton because this text is in the middle of a string and so I can't split it. Any ideas? Thanks! EDIT: I found a solution or rather found how to do it correctly. All I had to do was adding the setMovementMethod call before the call to setText in the TextView and ALSO, and COMPLETELY NECESSARY, remove the attribute "android:autoLink="all" from the layout. Apparently, parsing mails and urls in a string is mutually exclusive to interpreting the link tags in a string. So one or the other but not both. Finally my layout is just a TextView with nothing special, just width and height. The activity is like this: TextView tv = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.about_text); tv.setMovementMethod(LinkMovementMethod.getInstance()); tv.setText(Html.fromHtml(getString(R.string.about_content), new ImageGetter(), null)); And the string is like this: <string name="about_content"><a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail" /></a></string>

Contact form with php-script does not work

I'm new to the forum and I have been trying to find a thread that could be helpful but nothing have been working out so far. I recently uploaded my site via FTP, and it works fine. Except for one thing, my contact form. The contact form is crucial and it is almost the whole point of the website. I don't get any emails "from the form", either in my spam-folder or inbox. Spanning columns in HTML table.

I'm trying do to a very simple operation of merging two columns in a table. This seems easy with the colspan, but if I merge different columns without leaving at least one row without any merged columns, the sizing gets completely messed up. problem with logout script in php

Whoever user is using it can still access what is not supposed to be accessed when a user hasn't logged in. Do I need to add a code on the user page? I'd like to have an hg hook that sends email using a gmail account. Obviously I don't want anyone to be able read the email-sending script except me or root, since it has a password in, so here's what I've tried: -rwsr-xr-x 1 james james 58 Feb 18 12:05 incoming.email.sh -rwx--x--x 1 james james 262 Feb 18 12:04 send-incoming-email.sh where incoming.email.sh is the file executed as the hook: #! /bin/bash /path/to/send-incoming-email.sh However, when I try to run as another user I get the error: /bin/bash: /path/to/send-incoming-email.sh: Permission denied The send-incoming-email.sh file works fine when I run as myself. Is what I'm trying to do possible, or will setuid not propagate to commands executed from a shell script? System is Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS.

I am performing some interactive testing using HP's QuickTest Professional and Linux. I am connecting via SSH and feeding the BASH script lines directly into the command line. The problem I'm having is that the script executes as it is entered. I'm attempting to find a way that I can feed the script to the command line, but save execution until the entire script is complete. Anyone have any experience around doing this? I'll admit, it isn't the ideal way to perform this, but it's what I'm faced with at the moment. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

mac osx script - find mounted disc with name, copy file from desktop to it, when copy complete, unmount disc

Is there some kind of mac script which finds a newly mounted disc drive that has the name 'EXAMPLE', then copies a file/folder to it and safely ejects the disc when copy has finished? I don't mind if the script needs to be executed by a short cut. And will it work if there are multiple drives plugged in? The reason I am asking is becuase i have 5000 usb memory sticks that I need to copy about 20mb worth of data to it. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Outlook 2007 Script that sends new form email when a message is dragged and dropped into a folder

Is it possible to write a script that will allow Outlook to automatically send out a new email to a distribution list when you drag and drop and previously opened email into a specified folder? The rules only let you apply them to received and sent messages. They do not allow you to apply it to anything that is dragged and dropped after being opened. It baffles me that Novell Groupwise had this functionality but Outlook 2007 does not. If someone can assist me in writing a script/macro to provided this functionality, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How can I logoff and go to stand-by via Win XP script?

I am looking for a way to write a script (of any sort) that would both log me off my local Windows account and also immediatedly put the computer to sleep / stand-by. I've found solutions that can do one or the other but not logoff and then sleep all in one script. The SHUTDOWN command doesn't offer this and I can't find any other options either. This is for Win XP, SP3 right now but someday soon I'll want a Windows 7 solution as well. Thanks for any ideas or an explanation as to why this isn't possible. :)

HTML/JS/CSS issue getting bigger by itself

Here's the picture to begin with. I have this check box, that when you check, then with jQuery toggle(); it hides that you see in first half of the picture (#writeComment) and shows #SCtryVOTE (what you see in the other half picture, to the right). Now i dont know why but of some reason it expands when its checked, why i dont know, is it because it needs more place than it have or? how do i make this work without having problems when its checked. How to display each stripe along with its respective checkbox in a straight line? It was explained in one of my questions itself but in that question each checkbox had a text label in place of such colour stripes. Here it is. I tried to do as mentioned in the accepted answer of that question but to no avail in this case.

I trying to auto increment the serial number when row increases and automatically readjust the numbering order when a row gets deleted in javascript. For that I am using the following clone method for doing my task. Rest of the thing is working correct except its not increasing the srno because its creating the clone of it. Html.Action link and Html.RouteLink

Even If the url is same can i go to different action using Html.RouteLink and Action Link.Like when i click on news link i will go to news details.The url of this page is http://localhost:1390/en-US/latestnews/125.Now if i select the ddl of language in the site header in this pagei need to go to the home page of the site.The ddl (on change) will take the same url but this time it needs to go to action in the sane controller.
