  • Traverse list to add elements using .NET

    I have a list of objects. Each object has an integer quantity and a DateTime variable which contains a month and year value. I'd like to traverse the list and pad the list by adding missing months (with quantity 0) so that all consecutive months are represented in the list. What would be the best way to accomplish this? Example: Original List { Jan10, 3 }, { Feb10, 4 }, { Apr10, 2 }, { May10, 2 }, { Aug10, 3 }, { Sep10, -3 }, { Oct10, 6 }, { Nov10, 3 }, { Dec10, 7 }, { Feb11, 3 } New List { Jan10, 3 }, { Feb10, 4 }, {Mar10, 0}, { Apr10, 2 }, { May10, 2 }, { Jun10, 0 }, { Jul10, 0 } { Aug10, 3 }, { Sep10, -3 }, { Oct10, 6 }, { Nov10, 3 }, { Dec10, 7 }, { Jan11, 0 }, { Feb11, 3 }

  • Interesting issue with ScriptManager timeout value happens only in win2k machines

    When I set the Asyncpostbacktimeout value to a large value like 3600000000, the scriptmanager throws a timeout exception (it throws the error almost immediately after user action which triggers ajax request, so it is not timing out because the server is not responding). If I reset this value to some sane number like 3600 or even 36000, it works fine. AJAx content is getting updated in the page. This weirdness happens only in windows 2000 machines and does not happen in XP machines Any thoughts ?

    Hay, i have a simple rating system for a property. You give it a mark out of 5 (stars). The models are defined like this def Property(models.Model) # stuff here def Rating(models.Model) property = models.ForeignKey(Property) stars = models.IntegerField() What i want to do is get a property, find all the Rating objects, collect them, then get the average 'stars' from them. any ideas how to do this?

    Does anyone have a no JavaScript way to make HTML checkbox still submit a value? As in if you check it the form submission will include a value A but if it is uncheck it still contains a value B? While I figure there isn't any way, I'm working on a site which needs to still be function when JS is off, and this would be ideal.

    A simple one, I'm trying to retrieve the value attribute of a button when its been pressed using jQuery, here's what I have: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $('.my_button').click(function() { alert($(this).val()); }); }); </script> <button class="my_button" name="buttonName" value="buttonValue"> Button Label</button> In Firefox my alert displays 'buttonValue' which is great but in IE7 it displays 'Button Label'. What jQuery should I use to always get the button's value? Or should I be using a different approach? Many thanks. I want to get this warning, if there exists any, during compilation. Is there any option in gcc/g++ to achieve this? I had turned on -Wall but that apparently did not detect this.

If a date has been filled in though, I want to just have the default BorderBrush.     I have a generic function that is constrained to struct. My inputs are boxed ("objects"). Is it possible to unbox the value at runtime to avoid having to check for each possible type and do the casts manually? See the above example: public struct MyStruct { public int Value; } public void Foo<T>(T test) where T : struct { // do stuff } public void TestFunc() { object o = new MyStruct() { Value = 100 }; // o is always a value type Foo(o); } In the example, I know that o must be a struct (however, it does not need to be MyStruct ...).     How can I gain access to Core Data objects from Javascript/WebKit on Mac OS X? I've made custom subclasses of NSManagedObject for each of my tables, with accessors defined using @property/@dynamic for each attribute, but neither isSelectorExcludedFromWebScript: or isKeyExcludedFromWebScript: is called for any of them, so Javascript just stops when I try to access any of the attributes. It returns 'undefined' if I access it as a property (eg business.name ) and javascript execution stops if I access it as a function (eg business.name() ).
