  Has anyone seen or compiled benchmarks comparing declarative (XML) versus programmatically created UI's in Android? There are things that Google has done to speed up the declarative approach, but you still do have the layout inflation step done at runtime. • Why are my images compressed?

  I'm using layout xml file for the UI. But the images are compressed and the qualities have lost in some level. My code is like this: <ImageView android:layout_width="480px" android:layout_height="717px" android:layout_x="0px" android:layout_y="45px" android:scaleType="fitXY" android:src="@drawable/e4" /> The drawable is actually 480x717. What's the problem here? Is it due to the fitXY?

In the emulator and on a G1 phone these look pretty ok , however , when put on a Xperia mini the label and the slider overlap . What should I do obtain a decent view independent of the device the application runs ?

• Why does my Sharepoint page's custom content type change to "Page" when editing?

  I have a custom Sharepoint 2007 site definition with custom content types for the different page layouts. When editing a page using a custom layout from the main "View all contents" tree view, the page content type is fine, but if I view the page directly and edit it from there, the content type gets stripped and replaced with "Page." I can change it back by viewing and editing it from the main list, but not from its subsite home location.

Should I use a wrapper view and add those 2 views to it and depending on which segment was chosen I will show the correct view?   Duplicate: Is there any form designer available for Google Android? I would like to move a CheckBox, so it displays in a different location than the top-left corner under Absolute Layout inside main.xml, for 'Android'. I'm using Eclipse to edit my views. How would I do this? On an iPhone they have a tool called Interface builder that allows you to move things in a WYIWYG fashion. Does Eclipse have similar functionality? Regards ShotSimon

  Hi My zend framework render function returns: Warning: include(C:\wamp\www\cms\application\modules\default\views\scripts) [function.include]: failed to open stream: Permission denied... Why is this any better than just hard coding the link and script tag right in the header? I would think this is slower performance since its using the framework methods to do it. Is it possible (in CSS2) to take 1px wide portion from the middle of that header image and make a filler out of it?
