• jQuery $.post with PasteBin API

  Ok, I'm trying to use jQuery $.post with the PasteBin API to create a PasteBin page and grab the URL (which the API says it returns). Here is my code so far: $('#send_code').click(function(){ $.post('http://pastebin.com/api_public.php', { paste_name: $('#paste_name').val(), paste_code: $('#paste_code').val() }, function(data){ alert(data); }); } The above script creates the page just fine (I can find them on PasteBin). However, all that is returned is an empty string. I've tried using this same API with php and cURL, and I'm able to retrieve the URL just fine. Can anyone see if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks!

• How does load balancing work with multiple server with multiple DBs

  I guess what im looking for is a description on how this all works together. I'm used to setting up one server with maybe another server to handel the DB. My question is how does the load balancer work where do all the script(php,python) files go? If i make a change to one i have to rsync them to all the server that the balancer refers to? Also does each server need client side DB's installed so they can reference the DB's that are on other servers? If there is a site that explains all this i would be happy to read it.

  Hi, I’m currently trying to develop a method to get a overview of all my different web templates I’ve created and (legally) downloaded over the years. I thought about a displaying them like Wordpress is previewing it’s templates view a small preview windows, displaying the concrete file with styles and everything. How to divide them into rows and columns and create AJAX modal window open on preview and pagination and so on I believe I can manage, but it is the concept itself about iterate over several folders then find all index.htm / index.html pages and displaying them. I’ve not worked very much with directories in PHP and the only references and code stumps I’ve found so far is just to list all the files in a certain directory like, what it contains. I would be really grateful if someone knew about a script, a function, snippet or just could get me a nudge in the right direction to create such a (probably simple) preview function. • Wordpress add a new page to admin section

  Hello. I have already developed my plugin for wordpress and I can manage it from admin. I have passed the access to the plugin file usin add_submenu_page. The problem is that the plugin is extending and I want to use another file that is linked from the main file. For example I have second_page.php?id=3. When I try to access this link, i get a "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." message. I want to "validate" this page also for using with this script and I don't know how. Ideas ?

• Modifying a model and texture mid-game code

  Just have a question for anyone out there who knows some sort of game engine pretty well. What I am trying to implement is some sort of script or code that will allow me to make a custom game character and textures mid-game. A few examples would be along the lines of changing facial expressions and body part positions in the game SecondLife. I don't really need a particular language, feel free to use your favorite, I'm just really looking for an example on how to go about this. Also I was wondering if there is anyway to combine textures for optimization; for example if i wanted to add a tattoo to a character midgame, is there any code that could combine his body texture and the tattoo texture into one texture to use (this way I can simply just render one texture per body.) Any tips would be appreciated, sorry if the question is a wee bit to vauge.

• Ant ignores attempt to override the LANG environment variable

  We need to test a java build with the languages set to different values. I can manually (i.e. via export LANG=en_DK.UTF-8 and export LANG=en_DK) test that the unit tests run with the ant build script behaves differently, but I need to set the environment variable from ant. I have tried setting it using these methods (with the shell $LANG set to en_DK.UTF-8): using -D on the command line: ant -DLANG=en_DK using a build.properties file with the line LANG=en_DK in it using the following statements in the build.xml file (sorry for the formatting, I can't get SO to display it otherwise): : <property environment="ANTENV"/> <property name="ANTENV.LANG" value="en_DK"/> Using any of the three possibilities, and when run with -debug, ant reports that: Override ignored for property "LANG" What can I do to set the LANG environment variable from within ant?

• How to organize asp.net mvc project (using entity framework) and a corresponding database project?

  I recently switched to vs2010 and am experimenting with asp.net MVC2. I am building a simple website and use the entity framework to design the data model. From the .edmx file, I generate the database tables. After a few iterations, I decided that it would be nice to have version control of the database schema as well, and therefore I added a database project into which I imported the script that is generated from the datamodel. As a result, I have to generate the sql every time that I change the model and redo the import. The database project automatically updates the database. Although the manual steps to generate the sql and the import are annoying, this works pretty well, until I wanted to add the standard tables for user accounts/authorization etc. I can use the framework tools to add the necessary tables, views etc. to the database, but as I do not want to have them in the .edmx model I end up with a third manual step. Is anybody facing similar issues?

• How do I get the name of the newest file via the Terminal?

  I'm trying to create a macro for Keyboard Maestro for OS X doing the following: Get name of newest file in a directory on my disk based on date created; Paste the text "newest file: " plus the name of the newest file. One of its options is to "Execute a shell script", so I thought that would do it for 1. After Googling around a bit I came up with this: cd /path/to/directory/ ls -t | head -n1 This sorts it right, and returns the first filename. However, it also seems to includes a line break, which I do not want. As for 2: I can output the text "newest file: " with a different action in the app, and paste the filename behind that. But I'm wondering if you can't return "random text" + the outcome of the ls command. So my question is: can I do this only using the ls command? And how do I get just the name of the latest file without any linebreaks or returns?

  During some recent refactoring we changed how our user avatars are stored not realizing that once deployed it would affect all the existing users.   How should I resize an image with Python script so that it would automatically adjust the Height ratio to the Width used? But how should I make it work with images that do not have this ratio? For me, what is important is that the new Width is 1920; Height has to be able to adjust automatically. Any ideas which part of my code should be altered and how?

  Ever since my foray into AJAX, I've always used the "whatever works" method of manipulating AJAX data returns. I'd like to know what the definitive and modern best practice is for handling data. Is it best practice to generate the HTML via the server script and introduce the returned data on the onComplete function? Should XML/JSON be looked at first before anything? How about manipulating the returned data? Using .live() doesn't seem like it is the most efficient way. I've never seen a definitive answer to this question. Your expertise is much appreciated.

  For some reason, I want to dump a table from a database (sqlite3) in the form of a csv file. I'm using a python script with elixir (based on sqlalchemy) to modify the database. I was wondering if there is any way to dump the table I use to csv. I've seen sqlalchemy serializer but it doesn't seem to be what I want. Am I doing it wrong? Should I call the sqlite3 python module after closing my sqlalchemy session to dump to a file instead? Or should I use something homemade?

  I'm trying to code a batch file to copy only the most recently dated file in a given folder to another directory on the local machine, and simultaneously rename it as it does. I've found a very similar question here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/97371/batch-script-to-copy-newest-file and have managed to cobble together the below code from other forums too, but have hit a brick wall as it only results in the batch file itself being copied to the destination folder. It doesn't matter to me where the batch file itself sits in order for this to run. The source folder is C:! BATCH and the destination folder is C:\DROP The code is below, apologies if this is a glaringly obvious answer but it's literally the first foray into coding batch files for me... • Modify HTML Content with Squid

  We have setup our network as per the tutorial here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Upside-Down-TernetHowTo. Basically, we have a squid proxy that inverts images for pages that clients request. We're trying to modify the script so that we can edit the contents of the webpage before the webpage is sent to the client. We are not having any luck. I'm wondering if there is something different about .html files that makes this not possible. What is happening is that we do a wget on the URI that is requested, save it locally, modify it and then echo back the new URI. The page that the user gets is the unmodified page and not the one that we just changed.

  Goal: Provide a web service using Visual Basic or C# or .NET that interacts with the Exchange Management Shell, sending it commands to run cmdlets, and return the results as XML. (Note that we could use any lanaguage to write the service, but since it is a Windows Box and we have Visual Studio 2008, it seemed like easiest solution would be just use it to create a VB/.NET web service. Indeed, it was quite easy to do so, just point and click.) Problem: How to run an Exchange Management Shell cmdlet from the web service, e.g, Get-DistributionGroupMember "Live Presidents" Seems that we should be able to create a PowerShell script that runs the cmdlet, and be able to call that from the command line, and thus just call it from within the program. Does this sound correct? If so how would I go about this? Thanks. Answer can be language agnostic, but Visual Basic would probably be best since that is what I loaded the test web service up in.

THis works in our US offfice ... when i run the same application from our columbian client .. it does not work. C# code to send email a) use senMail C# API b) C# script to manually do the telnet to client smtp outgoing email server and send emails. BOth work in our US office .... but does not work when run from columnbian client location I need a solution asap ... pls help ..

However, if I add any gems to my environment.rb: config.gem "authlogic" And run the same generator, I get the following: /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rails-2.3.5/lib/rails/gem_dependency.rb:119:Warning: Gem::Dependency#version_requirements is deprecated and will be removed on or after August 2010. • How can I graph the Lines of Code history for git repo?

  Basically I want to get the number of lines-of-code in the repository after each commit. The only (really crappy) ways I have found is to use git filter-branch to run "wc -l *", and a script that run git reset --hard on each commit, then ran wc -l To make it a bit clearer, when the tool is run, it would output the lines of code of the very first commit, then the second and so on.. • Keyboard focus being stolen by Flash

  Performing a search, I noticed several questions dedicated to how to steal/trap the keyboard focus of the visitor. Considering this site is dedicated to programming that's not suprising. I was wondering if anyone can advise me on how to prevent this type of behavior. Losing keyboard focus to flash basically removes my browser's functionality until I use the mouse to click elsewhere (I use Mozilla Firefox). Anyone know of some kind of plugin or greasemonkey script that will prevent my keyboard focus from being stolen? Normal browser "shortcuts" are rendered useless by having to use the mouse to return keyboard focus to the browser. Edit: Reply to the post below, I do have flashblock / noscript and some other things. My issue is flash that I want to see/interact with stealing my focus. Basically looking for something I can toggle that will prevent flash from getting keyboard focus or a way to force my firefox keyboard commands to the browser

Using cygwin after entering $perl -d sample.pl Loading DB routines from perl5db.pl version 1.3 Editor support available. Enter h or h h' for help, orperldoc perldebug' for more help. main::(sample2.pl:7): looper(); DB<1 It hangs at the DB<1 line. I cannot enter anything at the prompt. Is there a reason why this post is inappropriate? or how is this not clear?
