    Hi! I'm exhausted. I have installed GnuPG and exported secret key, and two public keys (my own and one of my client) from another instance of GnuPG. I try to configure 'my encrypting/decrypting' method on the local machine. When I run encrypting method from a little console application it works good. When I run this (same! - with the same body) method from my webservice on my local machine ... I have an ExitCode = 2. Happy in fact of catching the error message, but unhappy with their body. "gpg: no default secret key: secret key not available gpg: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.xml: sign+encrypt failed: secret key not available" What should I do? Whats wrong? Best regards, Karol Bladek

    I have a message that I want to fadeIn when a form is successfully send. I'm using the jQuery form plugin and the code: $(document).ready(function() { var options = { target: '#output', beforeSubmit: validate, resetForm: true }; $('#holdform').ajaxForm(options); }); The validate function works perfectly so i added this code before it returns true: (...) $('#output').fadeIn('slow'); return true; } This should fadeIn the div I have underneath the form, styled as display: none;. But what happens is that the div fades in and then disappears. Does anyone have an explanation and possibly a solution to fix it? Thank you in advance! Can you please list some example queries - prior and after optimization? It has to be query tuning – not adding index, not making covering index, not making any alteration to table. No change is supposed to be done on table and index. [ I understand that indexes are important.   • What really happens when I use varchar(10) in the sqlite command-line shell?

    I'm messing around with SQLite for the first time by working through some of the SQLite documentation. In particular, I'm using Command Line Shell For SQLite and the SoupToNuts SQLite Tutorial on Sourceforge. According to the SQLite datatype documentation, there are only 5 datatypes in SQLite. However, in the two tutorial documents above, I see where the authors use commands such as create table tbl1(one varchar(10), two smallint); or create table t1 (t1key INTEGER PRIMARY KEY,data TEXT,num double,timeEnter DATE); which contain datatypes that aren't listed by SQLite, yet these commands work just fine. Additionally, when I ran .dump to see the SQL statements, these datatype specifications are preserved. So, what gives? Does SQLite keep a reference for any datatype specified in the SQL yet converts it behind the scenes to one of its 5 datatypes? Or is there something else I'm missing?

    I have a sql statement where I'm joining about 4 tables, each with 200K rows. The query runs, but keeps freezing. When I do a join on 3 tables instead, it returns the rows (takes about 10secs).     SQL Server Edition: 2008 Enterprise Visual Studio: 2010 w/ .NET 4.0 SSMS 2008 Addin - Data Scripter project source code on CodePlex references Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlTools.VSIntegration.dll I have referenced the DLL under <<Microsoft SQL Server install location>>\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE But here is the oddity. Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlTools.VSIntegration.dll contains a namespace Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.VSIntegration, which in turn contains ServiceCache (public sealed). As soon as I add the reference, ServiceCache is highlighted (meaning there is no reference issue) But the problem arises when I compile the project and VS 2010 throws up an error that it cannot find ServiceCache. The name 'ServiceCache' does not exist in the current context Why is that ServiceCache is not visible during compile time but looks like it's available right after adding the assembly? And Reflector does show that ServiceCache is part of the assembly that the project is referencing, but Visual Studio intellisense fails to display it. Any had this kind of problem?     Hi, Im new to android and am just trying to install the SDK. I have everything else done. When i run the SDK Setup.exe (ive added the ./tools to the path already.) It gives me the famous cannot fetch URL error. Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: Permission denied: connect I tried the force http option and also manually adding a http:// version of the above url. It does not work at all. I am working on a windows 7 64 bit pc. Any help would be appreciated. Ramesh

  • Invalid Argument IE 8 jQuery

    Hi, I have this particular script that runs so that the flash elements don't show up on top of my slide out navigation. This redraws that flash element with wmode as opaque and so it shows up under the navigation. Works perfectly with Chrome and FireFox but not with IE. In IE I get an Invalid Argument in jquery.min.js code 0 Line 103 char 460. Can anyone help me as to why? If I comment out the second line of code inside the function then there is no error, but then doesn't work in FireFox.     I connect to a database with read only access using SQL developer. It's a TNS connection. I use a tnsnames.ora, forwarding port script and SQL Developer. In the past, occasionally, when connecting, I get a error message Got a minus one from a read call. Vendor Code 0 If I do a reboot, it goes away. Another friend suggested changed the forwarding port which worked for him. I recently upgraded to a new computer and now it seems that I am getting the error message consistently. Reboot or changing forwarding port does not help at all. The port forwarding script contains something like this putty -L ::1521 Does anybody have any idea? Thanks.

  • How to optimize Core Data query for full text search

    Can I optimize a Core Data query when searching for matching words in a text? (This question also pertains to the wisdom of custom SQL versus Core Data on an iPhone.) I'm working on a new (iPhone) app that is a handheld reference tool for a scientific database. The main interface is a standard searchable table view and I want as-you-type response as the user types new words. Words matches must be prefixes of words in the text. The text is composed of 100,000s of words. In my prototype I coded SQL directly. I created a separate "words" table containing every word in the text fields of the main entity. I indexed words and performed searches along the lines of SELECT id, * FROM textTable JOIN (SELECT DISTINCT textTableId FROM words WHERE word BETWEEN 'foo' AND 'fooz' ) ON id=textTableId LIMIT 50 This runs very fast. Using an IN would probably work just as well, i.e. SELECT * FROM textTable WHERE id IN (SELECT textTableId FROM words WHERE word BETWEEN 'foo' AND 'fooz' ) LIMIT 50 The LIMIT is crucial and allows me to display results quickly. I notify the user that there are too many to display if the limit is reached. This is kludgy. I've spent the last several days pondering the advantages of moving to Core Data, but I worry about the lack of control in the schema, indexing, and querying for an important query. Theoretically an NSPredicate of textField MATCHES '.*\bfoo.*' would just work, but I'm sure it will be slow. This sort of text search seems so common that I wonder what is the usual attack? Would you create a words entity as I did above and use a predicate of "word BEGINSWITH 'foo'"? Will that work as fast as my prototype? Will Core Data automatically create the right indexes? I can't find any explicit means of advising the persistent store about indexes. I see some nice advantages of Core Data in my iPhone app. The faulting and other memory considerations allow for efficient database retrievals for tableview queries without setting arbitrary limits. The object graph management allows me to easily traverse entities without writing lots of SQL. Migration features will be nice in the future. On the other hand, in a limited resource environment (iPhone) I worry that an automatically generated database will be bloated with metadata, unnecessary inverse relationships, inefficient attribute datatypes, etc. Should I dive in or proceed with caution?

    I've got a C# function that converts a byte array to a class, given it's type: IntPtr buffer = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(rawsize); Marshal.Copy(data, 0, buffer, rawsize); object result = Marshal.PtrToStructure(buffer, type); Marshal.FreeHGlobal(buffer); I use sequential structs: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public new class PacketFormat : Packet.PacketFormat { } This worked fine, until I tried to convert to a struct/class containing a byte array. [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public new class PacketFormat : Packet.PacketFormat { public byte header; public byte[] data = new byte[256]; } Marshal.SizeOf(type) returns 16, which is too low (should be 257) and causes Marshal.PtrToStructure to fail with the following error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. I'm guessing that using a fixed array would be a solution, but can it also be done without having to resort to unsafe code?

    I'm trying to write a SQL Server database update script. I want to test for the existence of a column in a table, then if it doesn't exist add the column with a default value, and finally update that column based on the current value of a different column in the same table. I want this script to be runnable multiple times, the first time updating the table and on subsequent runs the script should be ignored.     Hi all, In java-jdbc, I can easily run the following SQL (NOTE the double quotes around columns and table names) Select cus."customer_id" , cus."organisation_or_person" , cus."organisation_name" , cus."first_name" , cus."last_name" , cus."date_became_customer" , cus."other_customer_details" From "Contact_Management"."dbo"."Customers" cus But the same query in PHP errors out saying invalid syntax "Warning: mssql_query() [function.mssql-query]: message: Incorrect syntax near 'customer_id'. (severity 15) " But If remove all the double quotes, the query works fine and no errors. The query is ported from a java application so I would like to keep the double quotes and the SQL as it is. Also I tried, adding libicucore.dylib or libicucore.A.dlib or adding -licucore to other compiler flags field. It is not allowed to concatenate columns from tables with different collations, for example the following SQL is not allowed, select table1column1 + table2column2 from ... My question is, why concatenation of two columns from different collations is not allowed from database engine design perspective? I do not know why collation will impact results, the result is just concatenating strings -- should be simple enough and not dependent on collation... thanks in advance, George

However, when I call the same proc from a Java program, using something like: cs = connection.prepareCall("exec proc ?,"); cs.setParam(...); rs = cs.getResultSet(); // BOOM - Null! while(rs.next()) {...} // NPE! I fail to understand why the first result set returned is NULL. Can someone explain this to me? As a workaround, if I check cs.getMoreResults() and if true, try another getResultSet() - THIS time it returns the proper result set. Any pointers please?     Hi, I need some help with vocabulary, I don't use Oracle that often but I am familiar with MySQL and SQL Server. I have an application I need to upgrade and migrate, and part of the procedure to do that involves exporting to an XML file, allowing the installer to create new database tables, then import to the new database tables from the XML file. In Oracle, my database connection specifies a username, password, and an SID. Let's call the SID, "COMPANY-APPS". This SID contains tables belonging to several applications, each of which connects with a different user ( "WIKIUSER", "BUGUSER", "TIMETRACKERUSER" ). My question is: Can I re-use the same user to create the new tables ( with the same names ). In MySQL or SQL Server, I would create a new database and grant my user privileges to create tables in it. OR, do I need to create a new database user for my upgraded tables?

  • Offline backup synchronization

    There is a Central Server running Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005 and there are 7 client machines situated in various places and has XP Pro & SQL Server 2005 installed in all of them. They are not interconnected so they are physically seperate. One person goes to each of these centers maybe twice a month and takes the backup (Full database consisting of mdf and ldf files) with a pen drive and brings it to the Central server which contains the central database holding same schema as all the other client databases. I need to synchronize each backup database (belonging to different centers) one by one to update the existing data or inserting new data in the central database . The solution i got was Replication. The pendrive is brought to central server consisting of 7 instances of the databases and then the databases is attached to the central server one by one to the same SQL Server where the central database exists. Then my idea was to replicate the backup database one by one i.e using single subscription (Central Database) and multiple publication ( i.e 7 instances of databases in my case) toplogy by performing replication locally (i.e in the same machine). So i tried to develop a UI in C# .Net to programatically run the Transactional Replication with push subscription using RMO Programming (which is incomplete as of now because there is no point in developing when you already know it is not the solution). Transactional Replication can either be set to initialize with a snapshot or without a snapshot. If i go for the first option i.e with a snapshot , the data whatever is present in Central Database is overwritten by the new data . So the data present initially in the central database is lost. If i try to initialize without snapshot , no data (the data already has the updated and new data) will be sent from the backup database to server. The replication will work in a scenario where any incremental changes is done only after you set the replication . So the initial data whatever was present in the backup database when setting up the replication will not be replicated when running the snapshot agent for the first time to synchronize. Only changes in the backup database thereafter will be reflected to the central database .(Remember I am not going to insert new data or make any changes to the backup database after i attach it to the Central Server. ) So this solution is not feasible. I want a solution for synchronizing from one client database to central database present in the same machine using C#.NET. If you can provide me small example maybe with two databases(with same schema) DB1(Client) to DB2(Server) consisting of one or two tables it will be very helpful. The synchronization is not bidirectional.I want to only update existing data or insert new data from DB1 to DB2 (DB2 may contain some data initially). Thanks and Regards Pavan
