  I have seen samples of closure from - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/36636/what-is-a-closure Can anyone provide simple example of when to use closure? Specifically, scenarios in which closure makes sense? Lets assume that the language doesn't have closure support, how would one still achieve similar thing? Not to offend anyone, please post code samples in a language like c#, python, javascript, ruby etc. I am sorry, I do not understand functional languages yet.

  In MS SQL is it possible to share an identity seed across tables? For example I may have 2 tables: Table: PeopleA id name Table: PeopleB id name I'd like for PeopleA.id and PeopleB.id to always have unique values between themselves. I.e. I want them to share the same Identity seed. Note: I do not want to hear about table partitioning please, only about if it's possible to share a seed across tables.

  I have an IDL file that has a "#pragma prefix" directive, but whenever I use idlj to build the Java code, it ignores this and generates an _id without the prefix specified. This is a big problem because when _is_a is used, it always returns false, since my generated code does not contain the expected prefix. Please help! Thanks in advance!

• Reading Binary file in C

  Hi All, I am having following issue with reading binary file in C. I have read the first 8 bytes of a binary file. Now I need to start reading from the 9th byte. Following is the code: fseek(inputFile, 2*sizeof(int), SEEK_SET); However, when I print the contents of the array where I store the retrieved values, it still shows me the first 8 bytes which is not what I need.
