  • Can't get a List(Of <my class>) from a Dictionary in .NET?

    - by magsto
    I have a Dictionary with key of type UInteger and the value is List(Of Session) where the (Public) class Session contains a couple of variables and a constructor (Public Sub New(...)). Some of the variables in my Session class is: Private count As Integer Private StartDate As Date Private Values As List(Of Integer) and a couple of methods like: Friend Sub Counter(ByVal c as Integer) count += c End Sub There is no problem to add values to the Dictionary: Dim Sessions As New List(Of Session) Dim dict As New Dictionary(Of Integer, Sessions) then some code to fill up a couple of Session objects in Sessions (not shown here) and then: dict.Add(17, Sessions) 'No problem Sessions.Clear() Sessions = dict(17) 'This doesn't return anything! The Sessions object is empty even if the code doesn't returned any error. Is my class Session to compex to be stored in a Dictionary?

  • C#.NET Problem with locking of page after writing stream to window.

    - by godlikeskills
    The code below works fine, the problem is the 1st two lines are appearing on screen. It basically loads the PDF but I can't see the btnAcceptProposal change name or become enabled. Tried a Thread for the load but it broke. Anyone got any ideas - it's a web application protected void btnPDFProposal_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { btnAcceptProposal.Enabled = true; btnAcceptProposal.Text = "sss"; byte[] p = Order.Proposal; Response.AppendHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=Proposal.pdf"); Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf"; Response.Clear(); Response.BinaryWrite(p); Response.End(); }

  • Get REST Call is not returning the string I put in url

    - by wizage
    I have very simple code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Net; using System.Net.Http; using System.Web.Http; namespace Calculator.Controllers { public class CalcController : ApiController { public string Get(string type) { return type; } } } And this is what it returns when I type in http://www.example.com/api/calc/test <string xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/" i:nil="true"/> When I use http://www.example.com/api/calc/?test=test it returns this: <string xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/">type</string> How to I make it so I can just do the top one instead of the bottom one?

  • Any ORMs that easily support access to raw table schema?

    - by fizil
    I work with a ASP.NET UI framework that pulls fields for a particular screen off a database. These fields can be associated with particular data fields in another database for binding. The idea with this setup is that if a client needs a new column on a table, they can easily add it, and create a UI field that binds to it without any sort of application restart or recompile. The problem I've always had with this is that it has meant I'm always having to work with untyped datasets in my code. Are there any ORM libraries for .NET out there that could easily accommodate the requirement of being able to access arbitrary columns in the table schema over and above ones mapped to strongly typed fields?

  • [VB.NET] Same name methods in different modules cause ambiguity.

    - by smwikipedia
    I have 2 modules. Each contains a Sub with the same name. See below: Module moduleA Public Sub f(ByVal arg1 As myType) Console.WriteLine("module A") End Sub End Module Module moduleB Public Sub f(ByVal arg1 As myType, ByVal arg2 As Boolean) Console.WriteLine("module B") End Sub End Module But the compiler complains that there's ambiguity between moduleA and moduleB. How could this be? I have totally different signatures. However, if I put the 2 methods into the same module, there's no ambiguity at all. Could someone tell me why? Many thanks.

  • Checkbox not working properly for IE with jquery

    - by wildanjel
    Hi, I am trying using several asp.net checkboxes on a page, disabling them accordingly. <asp:CheckBox ID='chkMenuItem' runat='server' CssClass='HiddenText' Text='Test' onclick='<%#String.Format("checkChild({0});", Eval("id")) %>' /> on javascript, I am using the following code function checkChild(id) { for (i = 0; i < $("input[id*=hdnParentMenuItemID]").length; i++) { if ($('input[id*=hdnParentMenuItemID]')[i].value.split(':')[0] == id) { var childID = $('input[id*=hdnParentMenuItemID]')[i].value.split(':')[1]; if ($("#" + childID).attr("disabled")) //$("#" + childID).attr('disabled', ''); $("#" + childID).removeAttr("disabled"); else $("#" + childID).attr('disabled', true); } } } Now is the checkboxes are disabled once the page is loaded, the removeAttr section doesn't work. I tried to step through the debugger and the logic works perfectly fine. If the checkboxes aren't disabled on page load, the code works fine. I tried replacing disabled 'attributes' with 'checked' to see if the other attributes work fine and it works perfectly fine. I tried $("#" + childID).attr('disabled', ''); but it didnt work either. Note: It works perfect on FF and Chrome but doesnt work in IE. Thanks,

  • Logging a user session for playback

    - by justSteve
    Running an MVC2 site against IIS7 and would like to capture more detail of how users traverse the site - ideally to the point of being able to replay even the duration between mouse clicks - feedback of where people pause and/or backtrack. I could do this with flash but that's no longer an option. Now it's just IIS7 via asp.net f4. That should be enough IIS7 is supposed to be extensible enough that there'd be any number of 3rd party options for this sort of niche need. I'm willing to consider client-side .net components but this sure seems to be the responsibility of the server. [opps...does this belong on serverfault?] thx

  • question about LocalSqlServer

    - by Alexander
    I know that by default ASP.NET ships with LocalSqlServer... I just uploaded my website and I did the following: <remove name="LocalSqlServer"/> <add name="LocalSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=winsqlus03.lxa.perfora.net,1433; Initial Catalog=db323219488; User ID= dboxxxxxxxxx; Password=xxxxx;"/> And inside my App_Data I still have the ASPNETDB.MDF, when I tried to run it... What I got is: Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.aspnet_CheckSchemaVersion'. why is this?

  • .NET: How to place my window near the notification area (systray)?

    - by Vilx-
    I'd like to display a little popup window next to the notification area. It's similar to what Outlook/Skype/Live! Messenger/etc does when it displays the notification about a new message. In my case it will have some input controls (textbox, datetimepicker, buttons...) so a simple bubble won't do. The trick is doing this correctly when the user has multiple monitors and/or the taskbar is not located at the bottom of the screen.

  • [.NET][C#] - Is possible to get a web with its links (CSS,JavaScript,Images, CSS-Images) ?

    - by Efrain
    Hi there, I am implementing a CMS, the case is that the "Web-Editable" is in a different domain thus, I would be able just get the page using HttpRequest in order to copy and show it in the CMS server to make it able to change it (DOM just visual purpose) and save the changes to the CSS and JavaScript folder on the "Web-Editable" using FTP. I am not allow to download all the information included on the "Web-Editable" trough the FTP, and there are other dinamic images as well comming from a private database. The question is, anyone knows how to make a httprequest "cascade" to get all the 1st level information you see when you visit a Web? Thank you in advance, Efrain

  • In .NET, how can I convert from "0.000" to a 'long'?

    - by willem
    I have a string, "0.000" (or any similar string), that I would like to convert to a long. I am happy to "chop-off" anything after the decimal. What is the best way to go about this? I can convert to double and then to long, but I'm just wondering if there is an easier way. All the following statements throw exceptions: long l3 = Convert.ToInt64(nrToConvert); long l1; long.TryParse(nrToConvert, out l1); long l2 = long.Parse(nrToConvert);
