  • How exactly is a PHP script executed?

    I was just thinking to myself "How exactly is a PHP script executed?" I thought it was parsed first for syntax errors etc, and then interpreted and executed. However, I don't know why I believe that is correct. I'm probably wrong. So, how exactly is a PHP file interpreted and executed? What stages does this involve? How do included files fit into the parsing of the script? This is just to help me get my head around it. I'm interested and can not find a good answer with Google. Thanks!

  • Outlook Search starting date

    I am having a problem with Outlook 2003 search on 2 desktops - 1 XP, 1 Windows 7. They are both connected to the same exchange 2007 server. There are several other users connected to the same server, inside the lan and outside using RPC none of whom are having this issue. When the user searches Outlook, search starts from the date Outlook OST file was created and then searches more recent items. The result is that if user is searching for some phrase, e.g. "Blade" in their inbox folder, search results from months ago are returned first then the more recent results. If i delete the OST file and restart Outlook it rebuilds a new one, and resynchronizes normally, then search works normally again, however approximately 6 weeks later the problem will start again (see second paragraph). Anyone experience this ? Any Suggestions ?

  • Treetop basic parsing and regular expression usage

    I'm developing a script using the ruby Treetop library and having issues working with its syntax for regex's. First off, many regular expressions that work in other settings dont work the same in treetop. This is my grammar: (myline.treetop) grammar MyLine rule line string whitespace condition end rule string [\S]* end rule whitespace [\s]* end rule condition "new" / "old" / "used" end end This is my usage: (usage.rb) require 'rubygems' require 'treetop' require 'polyglot' require 'myline' parser = MyLineParser.new p parser.parse("randomstring new") This should find the word new for sure and it does! Now I wont to extend it so that it can find new if the input string becomes "randomstring anotherstring new yetanother andanother" and possibly have any number of strings followed by whitespace (tab included) before and after the regex for rule condition. In other words, if I pass it any sentence with the word "new" etc in it, it should be able to match it. So let's say I change my grammar to: rule line string whitespace condition whitespace string end Then, it should be able to find a match for: p parser.parse("randomstring new anotherstring") So, what do I have to do to allow the string whitespace to be repeated before and after condition? If I try to write this: rule line (string whitespace)* condition (whitespace string)* end , it goes in an infinite loop. If i replace the above () with [], it returns nil In general, regex's return a match when i use the above, but treetop regex's dont. Does anyone have any tips/points on how to go about this? Plus, since there isn't much documentation for treetop and the examples are either too trivial or too complex, is there anyone who knows a more thorough documentation/guide for treetop?

For that purpose I though of building cli utility. The utility will connect to the application and send user commands (one line strings) to the application and wait for response from the application. The command should contain: - command name (e.g. display-session-table/set-log-level etc.) - optionally command may have several arguments (e.g. log-level=10) The question to choose syntax and to learn parse it fast and correctly. I don't want to reinvent the whell, so maybe there's already an answer out there.

  • IPv6 parsing in C

    I wanted to know how i can parse an IPv6 address in 'C' and convert it to a 128 bit value? So a hex address like 1:22:333:aaaa:b:c:d:e:f needs to be converted to its 128 bit equivalent binary. The problem is the IP address could be of the type ::2 and its variant since they are valid IPv6 address. The input is from the keyboard and hence is in ASCII format. Any suggestions or pointers will be appreciated. Thanks!!!

    I have a route defined in CI, $route['user/activate-account/:any'] = "user/activate_account"; People access the route in this url pattern, http://mydomain.com/user/activate-account/user_id/12345/token/abcdefghijk Inside the activate_account function, I tried to use the following codes to retrieve the required data, $user_id=$this->input->get('user_id'); $token=$this->input->get('token'); But they return FALSE, does this mean that for this kind of url pattern, I am supposed to use the functions provided by the URI class (http://codeigniter.com/user_guide/libraries/uri.html) to retrieve the variables?

    Hi, I would like to do something similar what we do in ASP.NET where we parse through all the rows in a GridView and assign a particular value to a particular cell in a row which has a matching TaskId as the current Id. This has to happen in a Tick function of a Dispatcher Timer object. Since I have a Start Timer button Column for every row in a GridView. Upon a particular row's Start Timer Button click, I have to start its timer and display in a cell in that row. Similarly there can be multiple timers running in parallel. For this I need to be able to check the task Id of the particular task and keep updating the cell values with the updated time in all of the tasks that have a Timer Started. TimeSpan TimeRemaining = somevalue; string CurrentTaskId = "100"; foreach(GridViewRow row in RadGridView1.Rows) // Here I tried RadGridView1.ChildrenOfType() as well but it has null { if( (row.DataContext as Task).TaskId == CurrentTaskId ) row.Cells[2].Content = a.TaskTimeRemaining.ToString(); } Can someone please let me know how do I get this functionality using the Telerik RadGridView?     If I output a formatted date as follows: DateTime.Parse("2010-06-02T15:26:37.789 +01:00").ToString("HH:mm:sszzz") I get the expected result: 15:26:37+01:00 However, if I parse the same date, convert to UTC and output with the same format as follows: DateTime.Parse("2010-06-02T15:26:37.789 +01:00").ToUniversalTime().ToString("HH:mm:sszzz") I get this: 14:26:37+01:00 Now those two dates, the local and UTC versions, should be exactly the same but the outputted text represents two different times. Why is this?

    Hey guys, I'm trying to parse an xml file to return a item with a specific id only, but having trouble making it work. here's what I have in php $xml_str = file_get_contents("test.xml"); $xml = simplexml_load_string($xml_str); $albid = $_GET['id']; $nodes = $xml->xpath('//library/book[@id=1]'); foreach($nodes as $node) { echo $node['title'].'<br/>'; } First, the php is not returning anything from the xml file. What would I need to fix to return the data? Also, how would I enter $albid into the xpath so that the id will be retrieved from the link? Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.
