  • How to login users that are stored within a Wordpress account

    - by user3716795
I am developing an iOS app that is password protected and all the users are stored in a wordpress account that, of course, is password protected as well. Does anybody know the format that wordpress uses to store login information for these accounts, I would assume that it is a MySQL that sends a json? I have only been able to find the database code for the initial admin page but nothing that shows the way these accounts (815 to be exact) would be stored within the site.

  • How to access property in sub method after it runs?

    - by Warren
    I'm having a hard time working this one out but I think it should be pretty simple. Basically, I have this method which talks to a webservice and I need to return some data from the sub method, the "authCode". What am I doing wrong? How can I get the authCode out of the manager, or can I create a block or something to to ensure that the manager block runs first? Am I even using the right words - blocks, sub methods??? Please help :) - (NSString *)getAuthCodeEXAMPLE { __block NSString *returnString = @"nothing yet!"; NSURL *baseURL = [NSURL URLWithString:BaseURLString]; NSDictionary *parametersGetAuthCode = @{@"req": @"getauth"}; AFHTTPSessionManager *manager = [[AFHTTPSessionManager alloc] initWithBaseURL:baseURL]; manager.responseSerializer = [AFJSONResponseSerializer serializer]; [manager POST:APIscript parameters:parametersGetAuthCode success:^(NSURLSessionDataTask *task, id responseObject) { if ([task.response isKindOfClass:[NSHTTPURLResponse class]]) { NSHTTPURLResponse *r = (NSHTTPURLResponse *)task.response; if ([r statusCode] == 200) { self.returnedData = responseObject; NSString *authCode = [self.returnedData authcode]; NSLog(@"Authcode: %@", authCode); returnString = authCode; } } } failure:^(NSURLSessionDataTask *task, NSError *error) { UIAlertView *alertView = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"Error" message:[error localizedDescription] delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:@"Ok" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [alertView show]; }]; //this currently returns "nothing yet!" return returnString; }

  • modifying constants in objective c during run time

    - by moshikafya
I am trying to solve the following problem. I have the following constants in my header file: #define PREFS_MY_CONSTANT_1 @"bla1" #define PREFS_MY_CONSTANT_2 @"bla2" #define PREFS_MY_CONSTANT_3 @"bla3" ... In one of my functions, I'd like to print to the UIbutton one of those strings based on user input, so say the user inputs '1', i would show bla1. Instead of creating a huge switch (i have 100 of those), I am looking for a way to combine the constant with the variable holding the user input, so something like that ideally: NSInteger input; [button setTitle:PREFS_MY_CONSTANT_{$input} forState: UIControlStateNormal]; Is something like that possible? what would be the best way to solve this?

"no black bar's or borders"".So,my question is how to set and run the app in compatibility mode.Any one having this issue please help on this issue.I have no idea to go forward. • [iphone] method created in a seperate class returns "out of scope"

    - by Dror Sabbag
Hey, I have created a Class (subclass of NSObject) which will hold all my SQLs/dbConnections etc.. in a seperate viewcontroller, i have instantiated the SQL's class and performed some actions, all went trough OK. but. one of my methods in the SQL's class is a method defined as follows: -(NSString *)queryTable:(NSUInteger *)fieldnum //query from db, and assign the field value into "fieldName" dbEntity = fieldName; [fieldName release]; } sqlite3_finalize(statement); } return dbEntity; } dbEntity is defined as NSString, and i have set it as a nonatoimc-retain property @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *dbEntity; when ever i call this method out from my viewController and debug step by step, i see that the method is running, it is quering from the db as expected, but when it passes the value into dbEntity the values in dbEntity are suddenly "out of scope" that is... if i browse this specific action: dbEntity = fieldName; i can see values inside fieldName, but see "out of scope" in dbEntity. Why is that?!? what is wrong with dbEntity definitions? Any help will be appriciated.

  • How do I get intellisense to pop up?

    - by TheLearner
How do I get intellisense to pop up while I am coding? I know it pops up when I start typing a known type e.g.: if I type NSS it will finish it for me NSString. How do I get it to give me a bunch of options like in Visual Studio e.g.: if I type NS I want to see what my options are like NSString, NSInteger etc? And if I have not typed anything I still want a bunch of options like all the instance variables etc.

  • How do I display core data on second view controller?

    - by jon
I am working on my first core data iPhone application. I am using a navigation controller, and the root view controller displays 4 rows. Clicking the first row takes me to a second table view controller. However, when I click the back button, repeat the row tap, click the back button again, and tap the row a third time, I get an error. I have been researching this for a week with no success. I can reproduce the error easily: Create a new Navigation-based Application, use Core Data for storage, call it MyTest which creates MyTestAppDelegate and RootViewController. Add new UIViewController subclass, with UITableViewController and xib, call it ListViewController. Copy code from RootViewController.h and .m to ListViewController.h and .m., changing the file names appropriately. To simplify the code, I removed the trailing “_” from all variables. In RootViewController, I added #import ListViewController.h, set up an array to display 4 rows and navigate to ListViewController when clicking the first row. In ListViewController.m, I added #import MyTestAppDelegate.h” and the following code: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; if (managedObjectContext == nil) { managedObjectContext = [(MyTestAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate] managedObjectContext]; } .. } The sequence that causes the error is tap row, return, tap row, return, tap row - error. managedObjectContext is synthesized for the third time. I appreciate your patience and your help, as this makes no sense to me. ADDENDUM: I may have a partial solution. http://www.iphonedevsdk.com/forum/iphone-sdk-development/41688-accessing-app-delegates-managed-object-context.html If I do not release the managedObjectContext in the .m file, the error goes away. Is that ok or will that cause me issues? - (void)dealloc { [fetchedResultsController release]; // [managedObjectContext release]; [super dealloc]; } ADDENDUM 2: See solution below. Sorry for the formatting issues - this was my first post.

  • Pass NSURL from One Class To Another

    - by user717452
In my appDelegate in didFinishLaunchingWithOptions, I have the following: NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.thejenkinsinstitute.com/Journal/"]; NSString *content = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:url]; NSString * aString = content; NSMutableArray *substrings = [NSMutableArray new]; NSScanner *scanner = [NSScanner scannerWithString:aString]; [scanner scanUpToString:@"<p>To Download the PDF, " intoString:nil]; // Scan all characters before # while(![scanner isAtEnd]) { NSString *substring = nil; [scanner scanString:@"<p>To Download the PDF, <a href=\"" intoString:nil]; // Scan the # character if([scanner scanUpToString:@"\"" intoString:&substring]) { // If the space immediately followed the #, this will be skipped [substrings addObject:substring]; } [scanner scanUpToString:@"" intoString:nil]; // Scan all characters before next # } // do something with substrings NSString *URLstring = [substrings objectAtIndex:0]; self.theheurl = [NSURL URLWithString:URLstring]; NSLog(@"%@", theheurl); [substrings release]; The console printout for theheurl gives me a valid URL ending in .pdf. In the class I would like to load the URL, I have the following: - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { _appdelegate.theheurl = currentURL; NSLog(@"%@", currentURL); NSLog(@"%@", _appdelegate.theheurl); [worship loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:currentURL cachePolicy:NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData timeoutInterval:60.0]]; timer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:(1.0/2.0) target:self selector:@selector(tick) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; [super viewWillAppear:YES]; } However, both NSLogs in that class come back null. What am I Doing wrong in getting the NSURL from the AppDelegate to the class to load it?

  • Language restrictions on iPhone lifted?

    - by John Smith
Apparently Apple has changed some term in the agreement again. From http://www.appleoutsider.com/2010/06/10/hello-lua/ section 3.3.2 is now Unless otherwise approved by Apple in writing, no interpreted code may be downloaded or used in an Application except for code that is interpreted and run by Apple’s Documented APIs and built-in interpreter(s). Notwithstanding the foregoing, with Apple’s prior written consent, an Application may use embedded interpreted code in a limited way if such use is solely for providing minor features or functionality that are consistent with the intended and advertised purpose of the Application. instead of the original No interpreted code may be downloaded or used in an Application except for code that is interpreted and run by Apple’s Documented APIs and built-in interpreter(s). I am more interested in embedding Lua, but other people have other embeddings they want to make. I am wondering how you ask for permission, and what they mean by the terms "minor features" and "consistent" and how will Apple interpret this section? It seems to have enough loopholes to drive a real firetruck through.

  • NSUserDefaults doesn't save

    - by JJSaccolo
Hi everybody! i'm trying to save some informations in an iphone/ipad app. The problem is that it works but if i close the app (with the home button on the simulator or closing with cmd+q) the informations become lost! this is my code (and, if you see, i used "syncronize") - (IBAction)choose1{ NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [defaults setObject:@"choose1" forKey:@"choose"]; [defaults synchronize]; } - (IBAction)choose2{ NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [defaults setObject:@"choose2" forKey:@"choose"]; [defaults synchronize]; } - (IBAction)openview{ NSString *var = [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:@"choose"]; if (var == @"choose1"){ [self pushViewController:view1 animated:YES];} else if (var == @"choose1"){ [self pushViewController:view2 animated:YES]; } } I don't understand why :(

  • set the width of a UIText view based on the content size property

    - by Mrwolfy
TextView.contentSize.width does not work to set the UITextView's .frame.size.width. [TextView setFrame:CGRectMake(TextView.frame.origin.x, TextView.frame.origin.y, TextView.contentSize.width, TextView.contentSize.height)]; Setting the UITextView's frame height to the contentSize.height property works to make the view's frame scale to the proper size for the current vertical size of the content. For some reason, the width of the view's frame does not respond in the same way. It just remains the same size regardless of the amount of text input. When I log the contentsize of the UITextView dynamically, as I am typing in text to the view, the height property chnges, while the width does not. Makes me wonder what the width property is doing, what's it for.

  • Best practices for packaging resources (jpg's, sound, video) in an iPhone app?

    - by Mel
I'm a newb iPhone developer writing an app that has several large JPGs and sound files. Everything works ok if I drag these non-code resources into my project. But I am wondering if this is the right way to package my app. In Windows development, I would create a "resource DLL" that keeps the .exe size small. What is the equivalent for iPhone? I think I should be creating a "bundle" - can someone please give me some pointers to using these and how to link them into my main project? Thanks!
