• ASP.NET NVC - Add XHTML into validation error messages

  Hi, Just starting with ASP.Net MVC and have hit a bit of a snag regarding validation messages. I've a custom validation attribute assigned to my class validate several properties on my model. When this validation fails, we'd like the error message to contain XHTML mark-up, including a link to help page, (this was done in the original WebForms project as a ASP:Panel). At the moment the XHTML tags such as "< a ", in the ErrorMessage are being rendered to the screen. Is there any way to get the ValidationSummary to render the XHTML markup correctly? Or is there a better way to handle this kind of validation? Thanks

  I have a problem getting my word and excel to work in ASP .NET. In Vista this isnt a problem, all I have to do there is to run "dcomcnfg" and in there find the Microsoft Excel dcom file. In Windows 7 I cant find it, and I have no idea what to do now... If anyone could help me that would be great!

• Visual Studio 2008 - syntax-highlighting and intellisense not working for aspx, js, css

  Hello all, I'm having problems with Visual Studio 2008, namely, syntax-highlighting and intellisense for *.aspx, *.js and *.css files (and maybe more) not working. Also, when I go to Tools - Options... - Text editor - HTML - Format, I see this error message: "An error occurred loading this property page" Everything was working fine before, until recently. The only change that might have possibly triggered this (but I am not 100% sure whether it stopped working at that exact time or some other time) was a change of the display language in my Windows 7 installation. I have already tried running: devenv /Setup devenv /ResetSkipPkgs devenv /ResetSettings ...none of which helped. Also, setting my default system font to Tahoma, which was a suggestion I found somewhere else, did not work for me (it was Tahoma before, since I use the Windows Classic theme). • Visual Studio unable to open Web site error

  Hello, I work with Visual Studio 2008 and work on a web project which contains a web site. When opening the solution file, I receive the error message: "Unable to open the Web site http://localhost/myWebsite.de. The Web site http://localhost/myWebsite.de does not exist." I can see the web site greyed out, with the remark "unavailable", in the solution folder. It is possible to add the web site to the solution, but after relaunching Visual Studio, it´s gone again. Has anyone had this problem in a similar way?

• Visual Studio 2010 RC with .net 4 beta 2

  Does anyone know if it is possible to use Visual Studio 2010 RC with the beta 2 version of the .NET 4 framework? The reason I need to use the beta 2 version and not the RC is that there isn't an Expression Blend that can support the .NET 4 RC. I uninstalled the .NET 4 framework that installed with Visual Studio 2010, then I reinstalled the .NET 4 version Beta 2. But now when I launch Visual Studio, I get an error message saying "The operation could not be completed" and it shuts down. How can I make this work? Thanks!

• Change webserver used by Flex in FlexBuilder to .NET Framework 3.5

  I just had to reformat and reinstall Flex and reconstruct a project. The problem is i am using ASP.NET as my server side technology and using LINQ in my files. The version of WebDev.Webserver.exe that FlexBuilder starts up is the wrong version so I get this error : Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?) I know that changing to the latest version of ASP.NET / Framework will fix this - but I just can't figure out HOW to make that change in Flexbuilder.   I have an issue with log4net which has been bugging me for a while and I've resolved to sort it. I have a class library which references log4net. If I reference this class library in another project I must then reference log4net in this project otherwise I get a build error Unknown build error, 'Cannot resolve dependency to assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.10.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=1b44e1d426115821' because it has not been preloaded. When using the ReflectionOnly APIs, dependent assemblies must be pre-loaded or loaded on demand through the ReflectionOnlyAssemblyResolve event.' • Can't run MonoTouch App

  Hi guys, This is not a really Programming Question, but please bear with me as it's related to the IDE that we use to develop and I'm really Stuck! :( Every time I create a project (can be an empty project) I get the message above when pressing Run or Debug. I have no Web Servers running the Web Share is off, the Zend Server as well MAMP is Off, the app itself does nothing as it's a blank project and if I run it on the iPhone/iPad Simulator, the app just opens and closes automatically :-/ I'm all new to monoTouch, but I wonder, does anyone has this problem and know what should I do? Then sql server says Msg 15063, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The login already has an account under a different user name. HEre is my connection string: "Data Source=Localhost;Initial Catalog=Northwind;Integrated Security=True" I'm using SSMS not SQL Server express I don't know what else I should do.   Hello, All I am trying to do is read a contact off of my emulator and display it to the screen. I can't seem to resolve this error. Both of my packages (com.msi.ibm.tutorial and .MobileServiceCallContacts) have the permission READ_CONTACTS set in their manifest xml files. So any ideas as to what I've got wrong ? • cakephp routing problem, plugin routing works but not others

  I'm having a strange routing problem with a site I just uploaded, and I've made a number of changes to test what's happening. It doesn't make any sense. My setup is: - I'm using one plugin, which I've included all the routing in the routes.php file. - I've also included the routes for two other controllers, 'events' and 'updates' they look like this: Router::connect('/login', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'login')); Router::connect('/logout', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'logout')); Router::connect( '/events/', array( 'controller' = 'events', 'action' = 'index')); Router::connect('/updates', array('controller' = 'updates', 'action' = 'index')); What happens when I try to get to 'events' is that I get an error message saying: "Not Found Error: The requested address '/Events' was not found on this server." I've checked the database and it's accessible, through the plugin's model/controller/view. I've also made sure the model/controllers for 'events' and 'updates' are there.   Hi there, i have looked around before posting my question following what i am looking in my datepicker (start date and end date): 1) Start date: can be any date, (user can select start date current (now) to any future date. 2) Start date: user can select start date as back as 6 months. example: if today is 04/22/2010 then i can go back up to 11/22/2009 but not more than 6 moths. 3) Start date if the user select the start date (current of future, not past) less then 10 days then i would like to alert message saying "need at least 10 days" 4) End date: should be current date to future dates alll previous dates are disabled. 5) *Start date / End date: * should not be greater than one year. • Jboss Seam: Enabling Debug page on WebLogic 10.3.2 (11g)

  Hi all, SKIP TO UPDATE 3 I want to enable the Seam debug page on Weblogic 10.3.2 (11g). So, I have done the following: I have the jboss-seam and jboss-seam-debug jars as dependency in both my ejb and web maven projects (both are modules of my superproject) I put this context parameter in my web.xml: <context-param> <param-name>org.jboss.seam.core.init.debug</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </context-param> Now, when I hit the URL of my application, I get the debug page with this exception (full stacktrace at the end of the post): Caused by java.lang.IllegalStateException with message: "No phase id bound to current thread (make sure you do not have two SeamPhaseListener instances installed)" From posts I read it seems that this is somehow related to two jars of jboss-seam or jboss-seam-debug being in the classpath. I opened my ear file and only one of each is present (in the ear) whereas the war itself has no libraries in the WEB-INF/lib. I have also read of another way to initialize debug page using the components.xml. They have an outer EAR project containing the inner WAR project. They discuss that this may be related to how jars end up in the projects. I use Maven, and I had set it to create "Skinny Wars", that is excluding all jar dependencies from the inner WAR project, so that it remains small in size. All its dependencies are contained in the EAR and are used by all other modules. I changed the settings of the maven-war-plugin to leave inside the war the web-specific jars (the ones mentioned in the link, like RichFaces, jboss-seam-debug, Facelets etc). However, the problem has reverted to its previous form. I now get the debug page, whatever link I press, with the initial exception. • How Do I 'git fetch' and 'git merge' from a Remote Tracking Branch (like 'git pull')

  I have set up some remote tracking branches in git, but I never seem to be able to merge them into the local branch once I have updated them with 'git fetch'. For example, suppose I have remote branch called 'an-other-branch'. I set that up locally as a tracking branch using git branch --track an-other-branch origin/an-other-branch So far, so good. But if that branch gets updated (usually by me moving machine and commiting from that machine), and I want to update it on the original machine, I'm running into trouble with fetch/merge: git fetch origin an-other-branch git merge origin/an-other-branch Whenever I do this, I get an 'Already up-to-date' message and nothing merges. However, a git pull origin an-other-branch always updates it like you would expect. Also, running git diff git diff origin/an-other-branch shows that there are differences, so I think I have my syntax wrong. What am I doing wrong?

• Nullable One To One Relationships with Integer Keys in LINQ-to-SQL

  I have two objects (Foo and Bar) that have a one-to-zero-or-one relationship between them. So, Foo has a nullable foreign key reference to Bar.ID and a (nullbusted) unique index to enforce the "1" side. Bar.ID is an int, and so Foo.BarID is a nullable int. The problem occurs in the LINQ-to-SQL DBML mapping of .NET types to SQL datatypes. Since int is not a nullable type in .NET, it gets wrapped in a Nullable<int>. However, this is not the same type as int, and so Visual Studio gives me this error message when I try to create the OneToOne Association between them: Cannot create an association "Bar_Foo". Properties do not have matching types: "ID", "BarID". Is there a way around this?
