  • php script dies when it calls a bash script, maybe a problem of server configuration

    - by user347501
    Hi!!! I have some problems with a PHP script that calls a Bash script.... in the PHP script is uploaded a XML file, then the PHP script calls a Bash script that cut the file in portions (for example, is uploaded a XML file of 30,000 lines, so the Bash script cut the file in portions of 10,000 lines, so it will be 3 files of 10,000 each one) The file is uploaded, the Bash script cut the lines, but when the Bash script returns to the PHP script, the PHP script dies, & I dont know why... I tested the script in another server and it works fine... I dont believe that is a memory problem, maybe it is a processor problem, I dont know, I dont know what to do, what can I do??? (Im using the function shell_exec in PHP to call the Bash script) The error only happens if the XML file has more than 8,000 lines, but if the file has less then 8,000 everything is ok (this is relative, it depends of the amount of data, of strings, of letters that contains each line) what can you suggest me??? (sorry for my bad english, I have to practice a lot xD) I leave the code here PHP script (at the end, after the ?, there is html & javascript code, but it doesnt appear, only the javascript code... basically the html is only to upload the file) " . date('c') . ": $str"; $file = fopen("uploadxmltest.debug.txt","a"); fwrite($file,date('c') . ": $str\n"); fclose($file); } try{ if(is_uploaded_file($_FILES['tfile']['tmp_name'])){ debug("step 1: the file was uploaded"); $norg=date('y-m-d')."_".md5(microtime()); $nfle="testfiles/$norg.xml"; $ndir="testfiles/$norg"; $ndir2="testfiles/$norg"; if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['tfile']['tmp_name'],"$nfle")){ debug("step 2: the file was moved to the directory"); debug("memory_get_usage(): " . memory_get_usage()); debug("memory_get_usage(true): " . memory_get_usage(true)); debug("memory_get_peak_usage(): " . memory_get_peak_usage()); debug("memory_get_peak_usage(true): " . memory_get_peak_usage(true)); $shll=shell_exec("./crm_cutfile_v2.sh \"$nfle\" \"$ndir\" \"$norg\" "); debug("result: $shll"); debug("memory_get_usage(): " . memory_get_usage()); debug("memory_get_usage(true): " . memory_get_usage(true)); debug("memory_get_peak_usage(): " . memory_get_peak_usage()); debug("memory_get_peak_usage(true): " . memory_get_peak_usage(true)); debug("step 3: the file was cutted. END"); } else{ debug("ERROR: I didnt move the file"); exit(); } } else{ debug("ERROR: I didnt upload the file"); //exit(); } } catch(Exception $e){ debug("Exception: " . $e-getMessage()); exit(); } ? • Paging, sorting and filtering in a stored procedure (SQL Server)

    - by Fruitbat
    I was looking at different ways of writing a stored procedure to return a "page" of data. This was for use with the asp ObjectDataSource, but it could be considered a more general problem. The requirement is to return a subset of the data based on the usual paging paremeters, startPageIndex and maximumRows, but also a sortBy parameter to allow the data to be sorted. Also there are some parameters passed in to filter the data on various conditions. One common way to do this seems to be something like this: [Method 1] ;WITH stuff AS ( SELECT CASE WHEN @SortBy = 'Name' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY Name) WHEN @SortBy = 'Name DESC' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY Name DESC) WHEN @SortBy = ... ELSE ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY whatever) END AS Row, ., ., ., FROM Table1 INNER JOIN Table2 ... LEFT JOIN Table3 ... WHERE ... (lots of things to check) ) SELECT * FROM stuff WHERE (Row > @startRowIndex) AND (Row <= @startRowIndex + @maximumRows OR @maximumRows <= 0) ORDER BY Row One problem with this is that it doesn't give the total count and generally we need another stored procedure for that. This second stored procedure has to replicate the parameter list and the complex WHERE clause. Not nice. One solution is to append an extra column to the final select list, (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM stuff) AS TotalRows. This gives us the total but repeats it for every row in the result set, which is not ideal. [Method 2] An interesting alternative is given here (http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/032206-1.aspx) using dynamic SQL. He reckons that the performance is better because the CASE statement in the first solution drags things down. Fair enough, and this solution makes it easy to get the totalRows and slap it into an output parameter. But I hate coding dynamic SQL. All that 'bit of SQL ' + STR(@parm1) +' bit more SQL' gubbins. [Method 3] The only way I can find to get what I want, without repeating code which would have to be synchronised, and keeping things reasonably readable is to go back to the "old way" of using a table variable: DECLARE @stuff TABLE (Row INT, ...) INSERT INTO @stuff SELECT CASE WHEN @SortBy = 'Name' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY Name) WHEN @SortBy = 'Name DESC' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY Name DESC) WHEN @SortBy = ... ELSE ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY whatever) END AS Row, ., ., ., FROM Table1 INNER JOIN Table2 ... LEFT JOIN Table3 ... WHERE ... (lots of things to check) SELECT * FROM stuff WHERE (Row > @startRowIndex) AND (Row <= @startRowIndex + @maximumRows OR @maximumRows <= 0) ORDER BY Row (Or a similar method using an IDENTITY column on the table variable). Here I can just add a SELECT COUNT on the table variable to get the totalRows and put it into an output parameter. I did some tests and with a fairly simple version of the query (no sortBy and no filter), method 1 seems to come up on top (almost twice as quick as the other 2). Then I decided to test probably I needed the complexity and I needed the SQL to be in stored procedures. With this I get method 1 taking nearly twice as long as the other 2 methods. Which seems strange. Is there any good reason why I shouldn't spurn CTEs and stick with method 3? UPDATE - 15 March 2012 I tried adapting Method 1 to dump the page from the CTE into a temporary table so that I could extract the TotalRows and then select just the relevant columns for the resultset. This seemed to add significantly to the time (more than I expected). I should add that I'm running this on a laptop with SQL Server Express 2008 (all that I have available) but still the comparison should be valid. I looked again at the dynamic SQL method. It turns out I wasn't really doing it properly (just concatenating strings together). I set it up as in the documentation for sp_executesql (with a parameter description string and parameter list) and it's much more readable. Also this method runs fastest in my environment. Why that should be still baffles me, but I guess the answer is hinted at in Hogan's comment.

  • How to reduce Entity Framework 4 query compile time?

    - by Rup
    Summary: We're having problems with EF4 query compilation times of 12+ seconds. Cached queries will only get us so far; are there any ways we can actually reduce the compilation time? Is there anything we might be doing wrong we can look for? Thanks! We have an EF4 model which is exposed over the WCF services. For each of our entity types we expose a method to fetch and return the whole entity for display / edit including a number of referenced child objects. For one particular entity we have to .Include() 31 tables / sub-tables to return all relevant data. Unfortunately this makes the EF query compilation prohibitively slow: it takes 12-15 seconds to compile and builds a 7,800-line, 300K query. This is the back-end of a web UI which will need to be snappier than that. Is there anything we can do to improve this? We can CompiledQuery.Compile this - that doesn't do any work until first use and so helps the second and subsequent executions but our customer is nervous that the first usage shouldn't be slow either. Similarly if the IIS app pool hosting the web service gets recycled we'll lose the cached plan, although we can increase lifetimes to minimise this. Also I can't see a way to precompile this ahead of time and / or to serialise out the EF compiled query cache (short of reflection tricks). The CompiledQuery object only contains a GUID reference into the cache so it's the cache we really care about. (Writing this out it occurs to me I can kick off something in the background from app_startup to execute all queries to get them compiled - is that safe?) However even if we do solve that problem, we build up our search queries dynamically with LINQ-to-Entities clauses based on which parameters we're searching on: I don't think the SQL generator does a good enough job that we can move all that logic into the SQL layer so I don't think we can pre-compile our search queries. This is less serious because the search data results use fewer tables and so it's only 3-4 seconds compile not 12-15 but the customer thinks that still won't really be acceptable to end-users. So we really need to reduce the query compilation time somehow. Any ideas? Profiling points to ELinqQueryState.GetExecutionPlan as the place to start and I have attempted to step into that but without the real .NET 4 source available I couldn't get very far, and the source generated by Reflector won't let me step into some functions or set breakpoints in them. The project was upgraded from .NET 3.5 so I have tried regenerating the EDMX from scratch in EF4 in case there was something wrong with it but that didn't help. I have tried the EFProf utility advertised here but it doesn't look like it would help with this. My large query crashes its data collector anyway. I have run the generated query through SQL performance tuning and it already has 100% index usage. I can't see anything wrong with the database that would cause the query generator problems. Is there something O(n^2) in the execution plan compiler - is breaking this down into blocks of separate data loads rather than all 32 tables at once likely to help? Setting EF to lazy-load didn't help. I've bought the pre-release O'Reilly Julie Lerman EF4 book but I can't find anything in there to help beyond 'compile your queries'. I don't understand why it's taking 12-15 seconds to generate a single select across 32 tables so I'm optimistic there's some scope for improvement! Thanks for any suggestions! We're running against SQL Server 2008 in case that matters and XP / 7 / server 2008 R2 using RTM VS2010.

  • Win32 window capture with BitBlt not displaying border

    - by user292533
    I have written some c++ code to capture a window to a .bmp file. BITMAPFILEHEADER get_bitmap_file_header(int width, int height) { BITMAPFILEHEADER hdr; memset(&hdr, 0, sizeof(BITMAPFILEHEADER)); hdr.bfType = ((WORD) ('M' << 8) | 'B'); // is always "BM" hdr.bfSize = 0;//sizeof(BITMAPFILEHEADER) + sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER) + (width * height * sizeof(int)); hdr.bfReserved1 = 0; hdr.bfReserved2 = 0; hdr.bfOffBits = (DWORD)(sizeof(BITMAPFILEHEADER) + sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER)); return hdr; } BITMAPINFO get_bitmap_info(int width, int height) { BITMAPINFO bmi; memset(&bmi.bmiHeader, 0, sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER)); //initialize bitmap header bmi.bmiHeader.biSize = sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER); bmi.bmiHeader.biWidth = width; bmi.bmiHeader.biHeight = height; bmi.bmiHeader.biPlanes = 1; bmi.bmiHeader.biBitCount = 4 * 8; bmi.bmiHeader.biCompression = BI_RGB; bmi.bmiHeader.biSizeImage = width * height * 4; return bmi; } void get_bitmap_from_window(HWND hWnd, int * imageBuff) { HDC hDC = GetWindowDC(hWnd); SIZE size = get_window_size(hWnd); HDC hMemDC = CreateCompatibleDC(hDC); RECT r; HBITMAP hBitmap = CreateCompatibleBitmap(hDC, size.cx, size.cy); HBITMAP hOld = (HBITMAP)SelectObject(hMemDC, hBitmap); BitBlt(hMemDC, 0, 0, size.cx, size.cy, hDC, 0, 0, SRCCOPY); //PrintWindow(hWnd, hMemDC, 0); BITMAPINFO bmi = get_bitmap_info(size.cx, size.cy); GetDIBits(hMemDC, hBitmap, 0, size.cy, imageBuff, &bmi, DIB_RGB_COLORS); SelectObject(hMemDC, hOld); DeleteDC(hMemDC); ReleaseDC(NULL, hDC); } void save_image(HWND hWnd, char * name) { int * buff; RECT r; SIZE size; GetWindowRect(hWnd, &r); size.cx = r.right-r.left; size.cy = r.bottom-r.top; buff = (int*)malloc(size.cx * size.cy * sizeof(int)); get_bitmap_from_window(hWnd, buff); BITMAPINFO bmi = get_bitmap_info(size.cx, size.cy); BITMAPFILEHEADER hdr = get_bitmap_file_header(size.cx, size.cy); FILE * fout = fopen(name, "w"); fwrite(&hdr, 1, sizeof(BITMAPFILEHEADER), fout); fwrite(&bmi.bmiHeader, 1, sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER), fout); fwrite(buff, 1, size.cx * size.cy * sizeof(int), fout); fflush(fout); fclose(fout); free(buff); } It works find under XP, but under Vista the border of the window is transparent. Using PrintWindow solves the problem, but is unacceptable for performance reasons. Is there a performant code change, or a setting that can be changed to make the border non-transparent?

  • How to handle Oracle Stored Proc with ASP.NET and Oracle Data Provider?

    - by Matt
    I have been struggling with this for quite some time having been accustomed to SQL Server. I have the following code and I have verified that the OracleDbType's are correct and have verified that the actual values being passed to the parameters match. I think my problem may rest with the return value. All it does is give me the row count. I read somewhere that the return parameter must be set at the top. The specific error I am getting says, PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to \u0027INSERT_REC\u0027 ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:\nPL/SQL: Statement ignored The stored procedure is: PROCEDURE INSERT_REC ( A_MILL_CENTER IN GRO_OWNER.MOVEMENT.MILL_CENTER%TYPE, --# VARCHAR2(10) A_INGREDIENT_CODE IN GRO_OWNER.MOVEMENT.INGREDIENT_CODE%TYPE, --# VARCHAR2(50) A_FEED_CODE IN GRO_OWNER.MOVEMENT.FEED_CODE%TYPE, --# VARCHAR2(30) --# A_MOVEMENT_TYPE should be ‘RECEIPT’ for ingredient receipts A_MOVEMENT_TYPE IN GRO_OWNER.MOVEMENT.MOVEMENT_TYPE%TYPE, --# VARCHAR2(10) A_MOVEMENT_DATE IN VARCHAR2, --# VARCHAR2(10) A_MOVEMENT_QTY IN GRO_OWNER.MOVEMENT.MOVEMENT_QTY%TYPE, --# NUMBER(12,4) --# A_INVENTORY_TYPE should be ‘INGREDIENT’ or ‘FINISHED’ A_INVENTORY_TYPE IN GRO_OWNER.MOVEMENT.INVENTORY_TYPE%TYPE, --# VARCHAR2(10) A_CREATE_USERID IN GRO_OWNER.MOVEMENT.CREATE_USERID%TYPE, --# VARCHAR2(20) A_RETURN_VALUE OUT NUMBER --# NUMBER(10,0) ); My code is as follows: //3 items hardcoded for now string millCenter = "0010260510"; string movementType = "RECEIPT"; string feedCode = "test this"; string userID = "GRIMMETTM"; string inventoryType = "INGREDIENT"; //set to FINISHED for feed stuff string movementDate = theData[i]; string ingCode = System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Match(theData[i + 1], @"^([0-9]*)").ToString(); //int pounds = Convert.ToInt32(theData[i + 2].Replace(",", "")); int pounds = 100; //setup parameters OracleParameter p9 = new OracleParameter("A_RETURN_VALUE", OracleDbType.Int32, 30); p9.Direction = ParameterDirection.ReturnValue; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p9); OracleParameter p1 = new OracleParameter("A_MILL_CENTER", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 10); p1.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; p1.Value = millCenter; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p1); OracleParameter p2 = new OracleParameter("A_INGREDIENT_CODE", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 50); p2.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; p2.Value = ingCode; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p2); OracleParameter p3 = new OracleParameter("A_FEED_CODE", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 30); p3.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; p3.Value = feedCode; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p3); OracleParameter p4 = new OracleParameter("A_MOVEMENT_TYPE", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 10); p4.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; p4.Value = movementType; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p4); OracleParameter p5 = new OracleParameter("A_MOVEMENT_DATE", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 10); p5.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; p5.Value = movementDate; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p5); OracleParameter p6 = new OracleParameter("A_MOVEMENT_QTY", OracleDbType.Int32, 12); p6.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; p6.Value = pounds; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p6); OracleParameter p7 = new OracleParameter("A_INVENTORY_TYPE", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 10); p7.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; p7.Value = inventoryType; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p7); OracleParameter p8 = new OracleParameter("A_CREATE_USERID", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 20); p8.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; p8.Value = userID; oraCmd.Parameters.Add(p8); //open and execute oraConn.Open(); oraCmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); oraConn.Close();

  • Explain the Peak and Flag Algorithm

    - by Isaac Levin
    EDIT Just was pointed that the requirements state peaks cannot be ends of Arrays. So I ran across this site http://codility.com/ Which gives you programming problems and gives you certificates if you can solve them in 2 hours. The very first question is one I have seen before, typically called the Peaks and Flags question. If you are not familiar A non-empty zero-indexed array A consisting of N integers is given. A peak is an array element which is larger than its neighbours. More precisely, it is an index P such that 0 < P < N - 1 and A[P - 1] < A[P] A[P + 1] . For example, the following array A: A[0] = 1 A[1] = 5 A[2] = 3 A[3] = 4 A[4] = 3 A[5] = 4 A[6] = 1 A[7] = 2 A[8] = 3 A[9] = 4 A[10] = 6 A[11] = 2 has exactly four peaks: elements 1, 3, 5 and 10. You are going on a trip to a range of mountains whose relative heights are represented by array A. You have to choose how many flags you should take with you. The goal is to set the maximum number of flags on the peaks, according to certain rules. Flags can only be set on peaks. What's more, if you take K flags, then the distance between any two flags should be greater than or equal to K. The distance between indices P and Q is the absolute value |P - Q|. For example, given the mountain range represented by array A, above, with N = 12, if you take: two flags, you can set them on peaks 1 and 5; three flags, you can set them on peaks 1, 5 and 10; four flags, you can set only three flags, on peaks 1, 5 and 10. You can therefore set a maximum of three flags in this case. Write a function that, given a non-empty zero-indexed array A of N integers, returns the maximum number of flags that can be set on the peaks of the array. For example, given the array above the function should return 3, as explained above. Assume that: N is an integer within the range [1..100,000]; each element of array A is an integer within the range [0..1,000,000,000]. Complexity: expected worst-case time complexity is O(N); expected worst-case space complexity is O(N), beyond input storage (not counting the storage required for input arguments). Elements of input arrays can be modified. So this makes sense, but I failed it using this code public int GetFlags(int[] A) { List<int> peakList = new List<int>(); for (int i = 0; i <= A.Length - 1; i++) { if ((A[i] > A[i + 1] && A[i] > A[i - 1])) { peakList.Add(i); } } List<int> flagList = new List<int>(); int distance = peakList.Count; flagList.Add(peakList[0]); for (int i = 1, j = 0, max = peakList.Count; i < max; i++) { if (Math.Abs(Convert.ToDecimal(peakList[j]) - Convert.ToDecimal(peakList[i])) >= distance) { flagList.Add(peakList[i]); j = i; } } return flagList.Count; } EDIT int[] A = new int[] { 7, 10, 4, 5, 7, 4, 6, 1, 4, 3, 3, 7 }; The correct answer is 3, but my application says 2 This I do not get, since there are 4 peaks (indices 1,4,6,8) and from that, you should be able to place a flag at 2 of the peaks (1 and 6) Am I missing something here? Obviously my assumption is that the beginning or end of an Array can be a peak, is this not the case? If this needs to go in Stack Exchange Programmers, I will move it, but thought dialog here would be helpful. EDIT

  • Wordpress > Custom wp-archives list by year and category with post count in sidebar

    - by David
    So I have been trying to add a custom sidebar archives section to this Wordpress Theme. I am trying to get two separate yearly archive sections, one for category A and one for category B. I need to get a post count and display it as well, to the left of "articles". This is the format I have been trying to get in the sidebar: Category 1 2010 - 5 articles 2009 - 4 articles 2008 - 6 articles 2007 - 5 articles Category 2 2010 - 8 articles 2009 - 3 articles 2008 - 7 articles 2007 - 5 articles This code is pulling the yearly archive, but the links to the yearly archives do not filter by category. However, if Category 1 does not have posts in 2008, 2008 would not show. So I feel like I am really close, but there is something wrong here in the code. I have also been unsuccessful in pulling the post count for the year/category either. Here is what I get: Category 1 2010 - articles (these links all take you to the general yearly archive page, not category specific) 2009 - articles 2007 - articles Category 2 2010 - articles 2009 - articles 2008 - articles 2007 - articles Here is are the functions I am using in my functions.php file, any idea what I am doing wrong? <?php function company_below_sidebar() { global $cat; ?> <div id="press"> <h2>Press</h2> <ul><?php $cat = '1'; wp_get_archives('type=yearly') ?></ul> </div> <div id="news"> <h2>News</h2> <ul><?php $cat = '4'; wp_get_archives('type=yearly') ?></ul> </div> <?php } add_action('thematic_betweenmainasides', 'company_below_sidebar'); function customarchives_join( $x ) { global $wpdb; return $x . " INNER JOIN $wpdb->term_relationships ON ($wpdb->posts.ID = $wpdb- >term_relationships.object_id) INNER JOIN $wpdb->term_taxonomy ON ($wpdb->term_relationships.term_taxonomy_id = $wpdb->term_taxonomy.term_taxonomy_id)"; } function customarchives_where( $x ) { global $wpdb; global $cat; return $x . " AND $wpdb->term_taxonomy.taxonomy = 'category' AND $wpdb->term_taxonomy.term_id IN ($cat)"; } add_filter( 'getarchives_where', 'customarchives_where' ); add_filter( 'getarchives_join', 'customarchives_join' ); function company_monthly_archive_flexible($input) { // Get URL from $input preg_match('(((f|ht){1}tp://)[-a-zA-Z0-9@:%_\+.~#?&;//=]+)', $input, $matches); $url = $matches[0]; // Get content from $input (without the tags) $content = trim(strip_tags($input)); // Seperate each date element and put it in an array $dates = explode(" ", $content); // Get year $year = $dates[0]; // Customize output format $format = "<li><a href='$url'><b>$year -</b> articles</a></li>\n"; echo $format; } add_filter('get_archives_link','company_monthly_archive_flexible'); ?>

  • MVC Page not showing up, 404 not found

    - by mwright
    I have a very simple MVC site that is returning a 404 not found error when trying to load a page at the very beginning. I'm looking for some direction to troubleshoot this problem since there is really nothing to go on from the error message. The error I'm getting is: Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /Views/Other/Index.aspx Below I have included the code for the various pieces, routing rules are default: routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional} // Parameter defaults ); The site is using nested MasterPages, not sure if this is involved with the problem but trying to include as much detail as possible. • Why doesn't my implementation of ElGamal work for long text strings?

    - by angstrom91
    I'm playing with the El Gamal cryptosystem, and my goal is to be able to encipher and decipher long sequences of text. I have come up with a method that works for short sequences, but does not work for long sequences, and I cannot figure out why. El Gamal requires the plaintext to be an integer. I have turned my string into a byte[] using the .getBytes() method for Strings, and then created a BigInteger out of the byte[]. After encryption/decryption, I turn the BigInteger into a byte[] using the .toByteArray() method for BigIntegers, and then create a new String object from the byte[]. This works perfectly when i call ElGamalEncipher with strings up to 129 characters. With 130 or more characters, the output produced from ElGamalDecipher is garbled. Can someone suggest how to solve this issue? Is this an issue with my method of turning the string into a BigInteger? If so, is there a better way to turn my string of text into a BigInteger and back? Below is my encipher/decipher code with a program to demonstrate the problem. import java.math.BigInteger; public class Main { static BigInteger P = new BigInteger("15893293927989454301918026303382412" + "2586402937727056707057089173871237566896685250125642378268385842" + "6917261652781627945428519810052550093673226849059197769795219973" + "9423619267147615314847625134014485225178547696778149706043781174" + "2873134844164791938367765407368476144402513720666965545242487520" + "288928241768306844169"); static BigInteger G = new BigInteger("33234037774370419907086775226926852" + "1714093595439329931523707339920987838600777935381196897157489391" + "8360683761941170467795379762509619438720072694104701372808513985" + "2267495266642743136795903226571831274837537691982486936010899433" + "1742996138863988537349011363534657200181054004755211807985189183" + "22832092343085067869"); static BigInteger R = new BigInteger("72294619754760174015019300613282868" + "7219874058383991405961870844510501809885568825032608592198728334" + "7842806755320938980653857292210955880919036195738252708294945320" + "3969657021169134916999794791553544054426668823852291733234236693" + "4178738081619274342922698767296233937873073756955509269717272907" + "8566607940937442517"); static BigInteger A = new BigInteger("32189274574111378750865973746687106" + "3695160924347574569923113893643975328118502246784387874381928804" + "6865920942258286938666201264395694101012858796521485171319748255" + "4630425677084511454641229993833255506759834486100188932905136959" + "7287419551379203001848457730376230681693887924162381650252270090" + "28296990388507680954"); public static void main(String[] args) { FewChars(); System.out.println(); ManyChars(); } public static void FewChars() { //ElGamalEncipher(String plaintext, BigInteger p, BigInteger g, BigInteger r) BigInteger[] cipherText = ElGamal.ElGamalEncipher("This is a string " + "of 129 characters which works just fine . • XNA: Load and read a XML file?

    - by Rosarch
    I'm having difficulty doing this seemingly simple task. I want to load XML files with the same ease of loading art assets: content = new ContentManager(Services); content.RootDirectory = "Content"; background = content.Load<Texture2D>("images\\ice"); I'm not sure how to do this. This tutorial seems helpful, but how do I get a StorageDevice instance? I do have something working now, but it feels pretty hacky: public IDictionary<string, string> Get(string typeName) { IDictionary<String, String> result = new Dictionary<String, String>(); xmlReader.Read(); // get past the XML declaration string element = null; string text = null; while (xmlReader.Read()) { switch (xmlReader.NodeType) { case XmlNodeType.Element: element = xmlReader.Name; break; case XmlNodeType.Text: text = xmlReader.Value; break; } if (text != null && element != null) { result[element] = text; text = null; element = null; } } return result; } I apply this to the following XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <zombies> <zombie> <health>100</health> <positionX>23</positionX> <positionY>12</positionY> <speed>2</speed> </zombie> </zombies> And it is able to pass this unit test: internal virtual IPersistentState CreateIPersistentState(string fullpath) { IPersistentState target = new ReadWriteXML(File.Open(fullpath, FileMode.Open)); return target; } /// <summary> ///A test for Get with one zombie. ///</summary> //[TestMethod()] public void SimpleGetTest() { string fullPath = "C:\\pathTo\\Data\\SavedZombies.xml"; IPersistentState target = CreateIPersistentState(fullPath); string typeName = "zombie"; IDictionary<string, string> expected = new Dictionary<string, string>(); expected["health"] = "100"; expected["positionX"] = "23"; expected["positionY"] = "12"; expected["speed"] = "2"; IDictionary<string, string> actual = target.Get(typeName); foreach (KeyValuePair<string, string> entry in expected) { Assert.AreEqual(entry.Value, expected[entry.Key]); } } Downsides to the current approach: file loading is done poorly, and matching keys to values seems like it's way more effort than necessary. Also, I suspect this approach would fall apart with more than one entry in the XML.

  • CPU Affinity Masks (Putting Threads on different CPUs)

    - by hahuang65
    I have 4 threads, and I am trying to set thread 1 to run on CPU 1, thread 2 on CPU 2, etc. However, when I run my code below, the affinity masks are returning the correct values, but when I do a sched_getcpu() on the threads, they all return that they are running on CPU 4. Anybody know what my problem here is? Thanks in advance! #define _GNU_SOURCE #include <stdio.h> #include <pthread.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <sched.h> #include <errno.h> void *pthread_Message(char *message) { printf("%s is running on CPU %d\n", message, sched_getcpu()); } int main() { pthread_t thread1, thread2, thread3, thread4; pthread_t threadArray[4]; cpu_set_t cpu1, cpu2, cpu3, cpu4; char *thread1Msg = "Thread 1"; char *thread2Msg = "Thread 2"; char *thread3Msg = "Thread 3"; char *thread4Msg = "Thread 4"; int thread1Create, thread2Create, thread3Create, thread4Create, i, temp; CPU_ZERO(&cpu1); CPU_SET(1, &cpu1); temp = pthread_setaffinity_np(thread1, sizeof(cpu_set_t), &cpu1); printf("Set returned by pthread_getaffinity_np() contained:\n"); for (i = 0; i < CPU_SETSIZE; i++) if (CPU_ISSET(i, &cpu1)) printf("CPU1: CPU %d\n", i); CPU_ZERO(&cpu2); CPU_SET(2, &cpu2); temp = pthread_setaffinity_np(thread2, sizeof(cpu_set_t), &cpu2); for (i = 0; i < CPU_SETSIZE; i++) if (CPU_ISSET(i, &cpu2)) printf("CPU2: CPU %d\n", i); CPU_ZERO(&cpu3); CPU_SET(3, &cpu3); temp = pthread_setaffinity_np(thread3, sizeof(cpu_set_t), &cpu3); for (i = 0; i < CPU_SETSIZE; i++) if (CPU_ISSET(i, &cpu3)) printf("CPU3: CPU %d\n", i); CPU_ZERO(&cpu4); CPU_SET(4, &cpu4); temp = pthread_setaffinity_np(thread4, sizeof(cpu_set_t), &cpu4); for (i = 0; i < CPU_SETSIZE; i++) if (CPU_ISSET(i, &cpu4)) printf("CPU4: CPU %d\n", i); thread1Create = pthread_create(&thread1, NULL, (void *)pthread_Message, thread1Msg); thread2Create = pthread_create(&thread2, NULL, (void *)pthread_Message, thread2Msg); thread3Create = pthread_create(&thread3, NULL, (void *)pthread_Message, thread3Msg); thread4Create = pthread_create(&thread4, NULL, (void *)pthread_Message, thread4Msg); pthread_join(thread1, NULL); pthread_join(thread2, NULL); pthread_join(thread3, NULL); pthread_join(thread4, NULL); return 0; }

  • Web service occasionally slows down significantly

    - by Swoop
    My company is running into a problem with a web service that is written in C#/ASP.Net. The service receives an identity key for data in SQL Server and a path to generate and save a PDF report for this data. In most cases, this web service returns results to the calling web pages very quickly, usually within a few seconds max. However, it seems to occasionally hit a significant slowdown. The web application calling the web service will generate a timeout error when this slowdown occurs. We have checked and the PDF does get created and saved to the server, so it looks like the web service eventually finishes executing. It seems to take about 1 to 2 minutes for processing to have completed. The PDF is generated using ActiveReports from Data Dynamics. Wwhen this problem occurs, making a small change to the web service's config file (ie, adding a blank space to a connection string line) seems to restart the web service and everything is perfectly ok for a period of time afterwards. Other web applications that are running on the same web server do not seem to experience this type of behavior, only this particular web service. I have added the code for the web service below. It is basic calls to 3rd party libraries. We are not able to recreate this problem in test. I am wondering what might be causing this issue? [WebMethod] public string Publish(int identity, string transactionType, string directory, string filename) { try { AdpConnection Conn = new AdpConnection(ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["myDBConnString"]); AdpCommand Cmd = new AdpCommand("storedproc_GetData", oConn); AdpParameter Param; Cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; Param = Cmd.CreateParameter("@Identity", DbType.Int32); Param.Value = identity; Cmd.Parameters.Add(oParam); Conn.Open(); string aResponse = Cmd.ExecuteScalar().ToString(); Conn.Close(); if (transactionType == "typeA") { //Parse response DataSet dsResponse = ParseDataResponse(aResponse); //dsResponse.WriteXml(@ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DocsDir"] + identity.ToString() + ".xml"); DataDynamics.ActiveReports.ActiveReport3 rpt = new DataDynamics.ActiveReports.ActiveReport3(); rpt.LoadLayout(@ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["myReportPath"] + "TypeA.rpx"); rpt.AddNamedItem("ReportPath", @ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["myReportPath"]); rpt.AddNamedItem("XMLSTRING", FormatXML(dsResponse.GetXml())); DataDynamics.ActiveReports.DataSources.XMLDataSource xmlds = new DataDynamics.ActiveReports.DataSources.XMLDataSource(); xmlds.FileURL = null; xmlds.RecordsetPattern = "//DataPatternA"; xmlds.LoadXML(FormatXML(dsResponse.GetXml())); if (!System.IO.Directory.Exists(@ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DocsDir"] + directory + @"\")) { System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(@ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DocsDir"] + directory + @"\"); } string sXML = FormatXML(dsResponse.GetXml()); StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter(@ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DocsDir"] + directory + @"\" + filename + ".xml", false); sw.Write(sXML); sw.Close(); rpt.DataSource = xmlds; rpt.Run(true); DataDynamics.ActiveReports.Export.Pdf.PdfExport xPdf = new DataDynamics.ActiveReports.Export.Pdf.PdfExport(); xPdf.Export(rpt.Document, @ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DocsDir"] + directory + @"\" + filename + ".pdf"); } } catch(Exception ex) { return "Error: " + ex.ToString(); } return @ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DocsDir"] + directory + @"\" + filename + ".pdf"; }

  • Rendering a view to a string in MVC, then redirecting -- workarounds?

    - by James S
    Hi -- I can't render a view to a string and then redirect, despite this answer from Feb (after version 1.0, I think) that claims it's possible. I thought I was doing something wrong, and then I read this answer from Haack in July that claims it's not possible. If somebody has it working and can help me get it working, that's great (and I'll post code, errors). However, I'm now at the point of needing workarounds. There are a few, but nothing ideal. Has anybody solved this, or have any comments on my ideas? This is to render email. While I can surely send the email outside of the web request (store info in a db and get it later), there are many types of emails and I don't want to store the template data (user object, a few other LINQ objects) in a db to let it get rendered later. I could create a simpler, serializable POCO and save that in the db, but why? ... I just want rendered text! I can create a new RedirectToAction object that checks if the headers have been sent (can't figure out how to do this -- try/catch?) and, if so, builds out a simple page with a meta redirect, a javascript redirect, and also a "click here" link. Within my controller, I can remember if I've rendered an email and, if so, manually do #2 by displaying a view. I can manually send the redirect headers before any potential email rendering. Then, rather than using the MVC infrastructure to redirecttoaction, I just call result.end. This seems easiest, but really messy. Anything else? EDIT: I've tried Dan's code (very similar to the code from Jan/Feb that I've already tried) and I'm still getting the same error. The only substantial difference I can see is that his example uses a view while I use a partial view. I'll try testing this later with a view. Here's what I've got: Controller public ActionResult Certifications(string email_intro) { //a lot of stuff ViewData["users"] = users; if (isPost()) { //create the viewmodel var view_model = new ViewModels.Emails.Certifications.Open(userContext) { emailIntro = email_intro }; //i've tried stopping this after just one iteration, in case the problem is due to calling it multiple times foreach (var user in users) { if (user.Email_Address.IsValidEmailAddress()) { //add more stuff to the view model specific to this user view_model.user = user; view_model.certification302Summary.subProcessesOwner = new SubProcess_Certifications(RecordUpdating.Role.Owner, null, null, user.User_ID, repository); //more here.... //if i comment out the next line, everything works ok SendEmail(view_model, this.ControllerContext); } } return RedirectToAction("Certifications"); } return View(); } SendEmail() public static void SendEmail(ViewModels.Emails.Certifications.Open model, ControllerContext context) { var vd = context.Controller.ViewData; vd["model"] = model; var renderer = new CustomRenderers(); //i fixed an error in your code here var text = renderer.RenderViewToString3(context, "~/Views/Emails/Certifications/Open.ascx", "", vd, null); var a = text; } CustomRenderers public class CustomRenderers { public virtual string RenderViewToString3(ControllerContext controllerContext, string viewPath, string masterPath, ViewDataDictionary viewData, TempDataDictionary tempData) { //copy/paste of dan's code } } Error [HttpException (0x80004005): Cannot redirect after HTTP headers have been sent.] System.Web.HttpResponse.Redirect(String url, Boolean endResponse) +8707691 Thanks, James

    I'm simply trying to run the basic openCV hello world tutorial code, but I'm getting errors. I have everything properly linked and built, but it's not working.     I've just refactored an app into a framework library and an application, but now when I try and start the app in the emulator I get the following error stack trace: 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate activity ComponentInfo{com.matthewrathbone.eastersays/com.matthewrathbone.eastersays.EasterSimonSaysActivity}: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.matthewrathbone.eastersays.EasterSimonSaysActivity in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader[/data/app/com.matthewrathbone.eastersays-1.apk] 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2585) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2679) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$2300(ActivityThread.java:125) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:2033) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4627) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:868) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:626) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.matthewrathbone.eastersays.EasterSimonSaysActivity in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader[/data/app/com.matthewrathbone.eastersays-1.apk] 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at dalvik.system.PathClassLoader.findClass(PathClassLoader.java:243) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:573) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:532) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.app.Instrumentation.newActivity(Instrumentation.java:1021) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2577) 06-02 18:22:35.529: E/AndroidRuntime(586): ... 11 more Usually this means that the manifest file is wrong in some way, but I've double checked everything I can think of. Here is my activity class: package com.matthewrathbone.eastersays; import android.os.Bundle; import com.rathboma.simonsays.Assets.Season; import com.rathboma.simonsays.SeasonPicker; import com.rathboma.simonsays.SimonSaysActivity; public class EasterSimonSaysActivity extends SimonSaysActivity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); } @Override protected void onDestroy() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub super.onDestroy(); } @Override public SeasonPicker getSeasonPicker() { return new SeasonPicker(){ @Override public Season getSeason() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return Season.EASTER; } }; } } As you can see, it's listed correctly in the manifest: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.matthewrathbone.eastersays" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0" > <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" android:targetSdkVersion="15" /> <application android:icon="@drawable/ic_launcher" android:label="@string/app_name" > <activity android:name=".EasterSimonSaysActivity" android:label="@string/app_name" > <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> </application> </manifest> I have no idea how to fix this, and would appreciate any help. I've scanned many similar questions on SO without seeing this particular behavior. More info: I've checked inside the generated APK and the class has an entry in the classes.dex file I've tried cleaning/building the project in eclipse I've tried using a totally new device image that doesn't have a copy of the APK on it already I've changed the library project into a regular java, then changed back into an android project, no difference

  • mediaelement.js control sizes are wrong when clip nested in a hidden element

    - by Martin Francis
    It's a nasty one this. In an audio control placed within a container element whose display property is initially set to none, the audio clip does NOT correctly size the progress bar when it is initialised. This is clear when the container's display property is changed from 'none' to '' (which is equivalent to 'static'). But who would ever do that? I make extensive use of 'tabbed' display arrangements on community sites like this one: http://www.churchesInBracebridge.ca Owing to the page arrangement, the audio controls which you see under 'sermons' (which at the time of writing still using Flash rather than John's excellent library here) are initially rendered in a div that is hidden. Simplified Test case Rather than have anyone have to wade through all of that, here's a much simplified test case: http://jsfiddle.net/sJL6T/36 Here's the full page source for those who'd prefer to work with it that way. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/> <title>MediaElementPlayer.js</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="http://mediaelementjs.com/js/mejs-2.13.1/mediaelement-and-player.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://mediaelementjs.com/js/mejs-2.13.1/mediaelementplayer.css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> function toggle(id){ document.getElementById(id).style.display= (document.getElementById(id).style.display=='none' ? '' : 'none'); } </script> </head> <body> <h1>MediaElementPlayer.js</h1> <h2 onclick="return toggle('test1')">Initially Hidden (Click to toggle)</h2> <div id='test1' style='display:none'> <audio controls="controls"> <source src="http://mediaelementjs.com/media/AirReview-Landmarks-02-ChasingCorporate.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /> </audio> </div> <h2 onclick="return toggle('test2')">Initially Shown (Click to toggle)</h2> <div id='test2' style=''> <audio controls="controls"> <source src="http://mediaelementjs.com/media/AirReview-Landmarks-02-ChasingCorporate.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /> </audio> </div> <script> $('audio').mediaelementplayer(); </script> </body> </html> Possible Workarounds Now I know that Google maps has the same quirk and there are two possible ways I've used to deal with that: Use absolute positioning in a displayed div to place the element 10,000px to the left then bring it onto the stage when we want to see it Have the map pane displayed when loading then hide it as soon as it's loaded (ugly I know, but it usually works) However either approach would be a pain to do, as I have a lot of legacy code using the simpler div hiding method. I know that JQuery can get the dimensions of an element event if it is hidden - someone thoughtfully fiddled that and it does work: http://jsfiddle.net/sJL6T/9 Perhaps it may be possible to modify the actual library to find correct dimensions, even if the container itself is hidden? That would be wonderful, if it can be done! Initial experiments on mediaelement-and-player.js code I found that when I provided a fixed value in the setControlsSize function for railWidth, I got consistent results with both controls in the test case above (and obviously I'm working with my own copy of the library to do that, not the one stored at mediaelementjs.com): // outer area rail.width(railWidth); Change to this: // outer area railWidth=216; rail.width(railWidth); Many thanks in anticipation! • How do I make a custom delegate protocol for a UIView subclass?

    - by timothy5216
    I'm making some tabs and I want to have my own delegate for them but when I try to send an action to the delegate nothing happens. I also tried following this tutorial: link text But it doesn't work for me :( Here is my code: TiMTabBar.h @protocol TiMTabBarDelegate; @interface TiMTabBar : UIView { id<TiMTabBarDelegate> __delegate; ... int selectedItem; ... } //- (id)init; - (id)initWithDelegate:(id)aDelegate; - (void)setSelectedIndex:(int)item; .. @property (nonatomic) int selectedItem; @property(assign) id <TiMTabBarDelegate> __delegate; .. ... @end @protocol TiMTabBarDelegate<NSObject> //@optional - (void)tabBar:(TiMTabBar *)_tabBar didSelectIndex:(int)index; @end TiMTabBar.m: #import "TiMTabBar.h" ... @interface NSObject (TiMTabBarDelegate) - (void)tabBar:(TiMTabBar *)_tabBar didSelectIndex:(int)index; @end @implementation TiMTabBar @synthesize selectedItem; @synthesize __delegate; ... /* - (id)init { ... return self; } */ - (id)initWithDelegate:(id)aDelegate; { //[super init]; __delegate = aDelegate; return self; } - (void)awakeFromNib { //[self init]; //[self initWithDelegate:self]; ... } - (void)setSelectedIndex:(int)item { selectedItem = item; if (self.__delegate != NULL && [self.__delegate respondsToSelector:@selector(tabBar:didSelectIndex:)]) { [__delegate tabBar:self didSelectIndex:selectedItem]; } ... if (item == 0) { ... } else if (item == 1) { ... } else if (item == 2) { ... } else if (item == 3) { ... } else if (item == 4) { ... } else { ... } } /* - (void)tabBar:(TiMTabBar *)_tabBar didSelectIndex:(int)index; { //[delegate tabBar:self didSelectIndex:index]; //if (self.delegate != NULL && [self.delegate respondsToSelector:@selector(tabBar:didSelectIndex:)]) { //[delegate tabBar:self didSelectIndex:selectedItem]; //} NSLog(@"tabBarDelegate: %d",index); } */ @end The delegate only works works inside itself and not in any other files like: @interface XXXController : UIViewController <TiMTabBarDelegate> { ... ... IBOutlet TiMTabBar *tabBar; ... } ... @end XXXController.m: #import "XXXController.h" #import <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> @implementation XXXController - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [self becomeFirstResponder]; ... tabBar = [[TiMTabBar alloc] initWithDelegate:self]; //tabBar.__delegate = self; ... } #pragma mark TiMTabBar Stuff - (void)tabBar:(TiMTabBar *)_tabBar didSelectIndex:(int)index; { NSLog(@"Controller/tabBarDelegate: %d",index); } @end None of this seems to work in XXXController. Anyone know how to make this work?

What I am trying to do is to reproduce the html inside Ember.View.render, but I would like to reuse as much Ember functionality as possible. Specifically, I would like to reuse the {{#linkTo ...}} helper, with two goals: Reuse existing html rendering implemented in the {{#linkTo ...}} helper Get the same routing support that using the {{#linkTo ...}} in a template provides. How can I call this helper from within javascript code? This is my first (incomplete) attempt. The template: {{view SettingsApp.NavigationView}} And the view: var trans = Ember.I18n.t; var MAIN_MENU = [ { 'linkTo' : 'nodes', 'i-class' : 'icon-cloud', 'txt' : trans('generic.nodes') }, { 'linkTo' : 'services', 'i-class' : 'icon-phone', 'txt' : trans('generic.services') }, ]; function getNavIcon (data) { var linkTo = data.linkTo, i_class = data['i-class'], txt = data.txt; var html = '<i class="icon-fixed-width icon-2x ' + i_class + '"></i>&nbsp;&nbsp;' + txt; return html; } SettingsApp.NavigationView = Ember.View.extend({ menu : MAIN_MENU, render: function(buffer) { for (var i=0, l=this.menu.length; i<l; i++) { var data = this.menu[i]; // TODO: call the ember function implementing the {{#linkTo ...}} helper buffer.push(getNavIcon(data)); } return buffer; } });

  • Selecting and inserting text at cursor location in textfield with JS/jQuery

    - by IceCreamYou
    Hello. I have developed a system in PHP which processes #hashtags like on Twitter. Now I'm trying to build a system that will suggest tags as I type. When a user starts writing a tag, a drop-down list should appear beneath the textarea with other tags that begin with the same string. Right now, I have it working where if a user types the hash key (#) the list will show up with the most popular #hashtags. When a tag is clicked, it is inserted at the end of the text in the textarea. I need the tag to be inserted at the cursor location instead. Here's my code; it operates on a textarea with class "facebook_status_text" and a div with class "fbssts_floating_suggestions" that contains an unordered list of links. (Also note that the syntax [#my tag] is used to handle tags with spaces.) maxlength = 140; var dest = $('.facebook_status_text:first'); var fbssts_box = $('.fbssts_floating_suggestions'); var fbssts_box_orig = fbssts_box.html(); dest.keyup(function(fbss_key) { if (fbss_key.which == 51) { fbssts_box.html(fbssts_box_orig); $('.fbssts_floating_suggestions .fbssts_suggestions a').click(function() { var tag = $(this).html(); //This part is not well-optimized. if (tag.match(/W/)) { tag = '[#'+ tag +']'; } else { tag = '#'+ tag; } var orig = dest.val(); orig = orig.substring(0, orig.length - 1); var last = orig.substring(orig.length - 1); if (last == '[') { orig = orig.substring(0, orig.length - 1); } //End of particularly poorly optimized code. dest.val(orig + tag); fbssts_box.hide(); dest.focus(); return false; }); fbssts_box.show(); fbssts_box.css('left', dest.offset().left); fbssts_box.css('top', dest.offset().top + dest.outerHeight() + 1); } else if (fbss_key.which != 16) { fbssts_box.hide(); } }); dest.blur(function() { var t = setTimeout(function() { fbssts_box.hide(); }, 250); }); When the user types, I also need get the 100 characters in the textarea before the cursor, and pass it (presumably via POST) to /fbssts/load/tags. The PHP back-end will process this, figure out what tags to suggest, and print the relevant HTML. Then I need to load that HTML into the .fbssts_floating_suggestions div at the cursor location. Ideally, I'd like to be able to do this: var newSuggestions = load('/fbssts/load/tags', {text: dest.getTextBeforeCursor()}); fbssts_box.html(fbssts_box_orig); $('.fbssts_floating_suggestions .fbssts_suggestions a').click(function() { var tag = $(this).html(); if (tag.match(/W/)) { tag = tag +']'; } dest.insertAtCursor(tag); fbssts_box.hide(); dest.focus(); return false; }); And here's the regex I'm using to identify tags (and @mentions) in the PHP back-end, FWIW. %(\A(#|@)(\w|(\p{L}\p{M}?))+\b)|((?<=\s)(#|@)(\w|(\p{L}\p{M}?))+\b)|(\[(#|@).+?\])%u Right now, my main hold-up is dealing with the cursor location. I've researched for the last two hours, and just ended up more confused. I would prefer a jQuery solution, but beggars can't be choosers. Thanks!

Here's the get ActionResult method [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Get)] public ActionResult Viewer(string reportYear, string reportMonth, string propIds, string reportName, string reportYearFrom, string reportMonthFrom, string reportYearTo, string reportMonthTo) { return View(); } I'm hitting this too...not seeing any values in the parameters...but that's just because I haven't passed them in yet...I don't think that's whats keeping the Viewer page from displaying.? Now...one would one expect the Viewer view to be rendered...right?...well all I see is the page that this was called from...it never displays the Viewer page???!!?!? Here's the routes from global.asax routes.MapRoute( "Viewer", // Route name "Home/Viewer", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Viewer" } // Parameter defaults ); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); I can browse directly to the page http://localhost:50083/Home/Viewer and when I do so I hit the get ActionResult method and the page renders just fine. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Compress file to bytes for uploading to SQL Server

    - by Chris
    I am trying to zip files to an SQL Server database table. I can't ensure that the user of the tool has write priveledges on the source file folder so I want to load the file into memory, compress it to an array of bytes and insert it into my database. This below does not work. class ZipFileToSql { public event MessageHandler Message; protected virtual void OnMessage(string msg) { if (Message != null) { MessageHandlerEventArgs args = new MessageHandlerEventArgs(); args.Message = msg; Message(this, args); } } private int sourceFileId; private SqlConnection Conn; private string PathToFile; private bool isExecuting; public bool IsExecuting { get { return isExecuting; } } public int SourceFileId { get { return sourceFileId; } } public ZipFileToSql(string pathToFile, SqlConnection conn) { isExecuting = false; PathToFile = pathToFile; Conn = conn; } public void Execute() { isExecuting = true; byte[] data; byte[] cmpData; //create temp zip file OnMessage("Reading file to memory"); FileStream fs = File.OpenRead(PathToFile); data = new byte[fs.Length]; ReadWholeArray(fs, data); OnMessage("Zipping file to memory"); MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); GZipStream zip = new GZipStream(ms, CompressionMode.Compress, true); zip.Write(data, 0, data.Length); cmpData = new byte[ms.Length]; ReadWholeArray(ms, cmpData); OnMessage("Saving file to database"); using (SqlCommand cmd = Conn.CreateCommand()) { cmd.CommandText = @"MergeFileUploads"; cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; //cmd.Parameters.Add("@File", SqlDbType.VarBinary).Value = data; cmd.Parameters.Add("@File", SqlDbType.VarBinary).Value = cmpData; SqlParameter p = new SqlParameter(); p.ParameterName = "@SourceFileId"; p.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; p.SqlDbType = SqlDbType.Int; cmd.Parameters.Add(p); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); sourceFileId = (int)p.Value; } OnMessage("File Saved"); isExecuting = false; } private void ReadWholeArray(Stream stream, byte[] data) { int offset = 0; int remaining = data.Length; float Step = data.Length / 100; float NextStep = data.Length - Step; while (remaining > 0) { int read = stream.Read(data, offset, remaining); if (read <= 0) throw new EndOfStreamException (String.Format("End of stream reached with {0} bytes left to read", remaining)); remaining -= read; offset += read; if (remaining < NextStep) { NextStep -= Step; } } } }

  • Getting the constructor of an Interface Type through reflection, is there a better approach than loo

    - by Will Marcouiller
    I have written a generic type: IDirectorySource<T> where T : IDirectoryEntry, which I'm using to manage Active Directory entries through my interfaces objects: IGroup, IOrganizationalUnit, IUser. So that I can write the following: IDirectorySource<IGroup> groups = new DirectorySource<IGroup>(); // Where IGroup implements `IDirectoryEntry`, of course.` foreach (IGroup g in groups.ToList()) { listView1.Items.Add(g.Name).SubItems.Add(g.Description); } From the IDirectorySource<T>.ToList() methods, I use reflection to find out the appropriate constructor for the type parameter T. However, since T is given an interface type, it cannot find any constructor at all! Of course, I have an internal class Group : IGroup which implements the IGroup interface. No matter how hard I have tried, I can't figure out how to get the constructor out of my interface through my implementing class. [DirectorySchemaAttribute("group")] public interface IGroup { } internal class Group : IGroup { internal Group(DirectoryEntry entry) { NativeEntry = entry; Domain = NativeEntry.Path; } // Implementing IGroup interface... } Within the ToList() method of my IDirectorySource<T> interface implementation, I look for the constructor of T as follows: internal class DirectorySource<T> : IDirectorySource<T> { // Implementing properties... // Methods implementations... public IList<T> ToList() { Type t = typeof(T) // Let's assume we're always working with the IGroup interface as T here to keep it simple. // So, my `DirectorySchema` property is already set to "group". // My `DirectorySearcher` is already instantiated here, as I do it within the DirectorySource<T> constructor. Searcher.Filter = string.Format("(&(objectClass={0}))", DirectorySchema) ConstructorInfo ctor = null; ParameterInfo[] params = null; // This is where I get stuck for now... Please see the helper method. GetConstructor(out ctor, out params, new Type() { DirectoryEntry }); SearchResultCollection results = null; try { results = Searcher.FindAll(); } catch (DirectoryServicesCOMException ex) { // Handling exception here... } foreach (SearchResult entry in results) entities.Add(ctor.Invoke(new object() { entry.GetDirectoryEntry() })); return entities; } } private void GetConstructor(out ConstructorInfo constructor, out ParameterInfo[] parameters, Type paramsTypes) { Type t = typeof(T); ConstructorInfo[] ctors = t.GetConstructors(BindingFlags.CreateInstance | BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.Public | BindingFlags.InvokeMethod); bool found = true; foreach (ContructorInfo c in ctors) { parameters = c.GetParameters(); if (parameters.GetLength(0) == paramsTypes.GetLength(0)) { for (int index = 0; index < parameters.GetLength(0); ++index) { if (!(parameters[index].GetType() is paramsTypes[index].GetType())) found = false; } if (found) { constructor = c; return; } } } // Processing constructor not found message here... } My problem is that T will always be an interface, so it never finds a constructor. Is there a better way than looping through all of my assembly types for implementations of my interface? I don't care about rewriting a piece of my code, I want to do it right on the first place so that I won't need to come back again and again and again. EDIT #1 Following Sam's advice, I will for now go with the IName and Name convention. However, is it me or there's some way to improve my code? Thanks! =)
