  • Remove CA from before teh $ in magento

    I am working on a magento site for Canada and so there is currently a CA$ before any price and we would like it just to appear as $. Is there a setting somewhere that someone know of where i can do to alter this without going through all of the code and doing it individually?

    Hi, I was following the site http://railstutorial.org/ and in the chapter 7, it shows an example of how to use gravatar_for. I tried to use it using <%= gravatar_for @user % but it does not render correctly in my browser (firefox/opera/chrome) it render this html: classgravatartitleratingPGstylewidth:50px;height:50px;background:url(http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/bebfcf57d6d8277d806a9ef3385c078d?rating=PG&size=50) no-repeat;sslfalsealtdefault Could someone give me the solution for this problem?     I am trying to use timthumb in one of my projects and it doesn't seem to be working and i searched all over and couldn't get the issue sorted.   • Best way to manage JSON object via GET and POST in php.

    My site does some short ajax call in JSON format, using jQuery. At client-side i'd like to send object just passing it in ajax function, without being forced to wrap it in an object literal like this: {'JSON_Obj' : myJSON_Obj }. For the same reasons, at server-side i'd like to manage objects without the binding of $_GET['JSON_Obj'] or $_POST['JSON_Obj']. For example, using file_get_contents("php://input"), i can manage POST requests in that way, but in GET format it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

  • Long time to load first sql connection in .NET

    For some reason it takes 7 seconds to open a connection to a sql server database for the firt time, subsequent connections takes a second. any idea what could be the reason? I'm using C# and asp.net Its after compilation, i essence every time i restart the site, which means every time it needs to actualy create the "first" connection. i understand that setting up connection pooling has overhead, but i have never seen that i should take 7 second to set it up.

    I am looking to build a widget for a site which allows users to tag images from individual frames of a video file but would prefer not to have to build a custom Flash tool. Is there an existing free library or framework which simplifies things like this in a webapplication setting? Features would also involve basic video playback functionality as well as time-driven meta-data and the ability to extract images from individual video frames. Are there existing open-source web-based tools for video manipulation other than building your own custom Flash app?

The leftTable I fill up from a DB, but the rightTable it just contains some rows. What I would like to do is to not show (or remove) in the leftTable those rows which are exist in the rightTable!     I seem to recall hearing at some point (I believe it was MIX09) that Microsoft has a licensing model of some sort where a business can consume licenses for up to two years, free of charge, until they reach a point where they are stable position and can pay their licensing at the end of two years. However, I can't find information regarding it online. I want to say that possibly stackoverflow used this licensing model to kick start their site. Is anyone familiar with this?

  • Start timer on web application start

    I would like to start a System.Threading.Timer in my application when it launches (maybe deploy is the correct word). I have seen that you can use Application_Start() but this is only fired once the first request comes to the application. I need the timer to start as soon as the application is running so that it can check for work to process even if a user is not interacting with the site. How can I get the application to start the timer once it is up and running?
