  • Why am I losing sessions when running in StateServer mode?

    - by Nick Allen - Tungle139
I have checked the servers (Win Server 2003) application event logs for the following problem http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308097 which doesn't show up. It just appears that sessions drop randomly for random users It's a single server setup, no web farms and no load balancing Even though the issue I point to above doesn't occur in the logs, is it worth increasing the stateNetworkTimeout attribute anyway? The configuration at the moment is simply <sessionState mode="StateServer" cookieless="false" stateConnectionString="tcpip=localhost:42424" timeout="60"/>

  • Drag and Drop file upload in Silverlight 4?

    - by Parvenu74
I'm working on re-writing a WinForms application into Silverlight. One use case in the WinForms app allows users to drag TIFF images (of faxes) from Outlook directly onto an "attach an image or fax to this case" control in the WinForms app. Is there a Silverlight 4 control which allows for the same functionality? It's important to realize that saving the file to the local filesystem and then selecting and uploading the file with a standard upload control will not meet the business requirements as outlined in the project.

  • PHP & MySQL - Deleting table rows problem.

    - by oReiLLy
    Okay my script is supposed to delete a specific users case which is stored in 2 MySQL tables but for some reason when the user deletes the specific case it deletes all the users cases I only want it to delete the case the user selects. I was wondering how can I fix this problem? Thanks in advance for helping. Here is the PHP & MySQL code. if(isset($_POST['delete_case'])) { $cases_ids = array(); $mysqli = mysqli_connect("localhost", "root", "", "sitename"); $dbc = mysqli_query($mysqli,"SELECT cases.*, users_cases.* FROM cases INNER JOIN users_cases ON users_cases.cases_id = cases.id WHERE users_cases.user_id='$user_id'"); if (!$dbc) { print mysqli_error($mysqli); } else { while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($dbc)){ $cases_ids[] = $row["cases_id"]; } } foreach($_POST['delete_id'] as $di) { if(in_array($di, $cases_ids)) { $mysqli = mysqli_connect("localhost", "root", "", "sitename"); $dbc = mysqli_query($mysqli,"DELETE FROM users_cases WHERE cases_id = '$di'"); $dbc2 = mysqli_query($mysqli,"DELETE FROM cases WHERE id = '$di'"); } } } Here is the XHTML code. <li> <input type="text" name="file[]" size="25" /> <input type="text" name="case[]" size="25" /> <input type="text" name="name[]" size="25" /> <input type="submit" name="delete_case" id="delete_case" value="Delete Case" /> <input type="hidden" name="delete_id[]" value="' . $row['cases_id'] .   • How do I add a condition to all ActiveRecords Queries for a particular model?

    - by Kyle West
I am using the sentient_user gem to have access to the current_user object in my application. I want to override the default ActiveRecordBase queries to scope them to the current user. For instance, I don't want my users looking at, deleting, modifying other user's orders. I feel like I should be able to override a single (or couple) ActiveRecordBase methods to accomplish this, but I don't know which or how. Thanks in advance.

  • Hide deprecated methods from tab completion

    - by Morgoth
I would like to control which methods appear when a user uses tab-completion on a custom object in ipython - in particular, I want to hide functions that I have deprecated. I still want these methods to be callable, but I don't want users to see them and start using them if they are inspecting the object. Is this something that is possible?

  • How to supress Powershell window when using the -File option

    - by guillermooo
I'm calling Powershell like so: C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe -noprofile -noninteractive -nologo -file "C:\Users\dummy\Documents\dev\powershell\samples\test.ps1" I'm calling it from a python script, but the same problem can be observed if called via a shortcut. I thought the -NonInteractive flag would cause Poweshell to execute in a hidden window, but it doesn't. Is there a way of supressing the console window when calling Powershell from an external application? Solution based on Johannes Rössel suggestion st_inf = subprocess.STARTUPINFO() st_inf.dwFlags = st.inf.dwFlags | subprocess.STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW Popen(["notepad"], startupinfo=st_inf)

  • How can Core Data store an NSData?

    - by mystify
The documentation says, that core data properties can only store NSString, NSNumber and NSDate types. However, a lot of Core Data users claim Core Data could also store an NSData type. But I wasn't able to see that in the documentation, although the Xcode Data Modeler allows to choose a data type called "binary" (which seems to be NSData). Did I miss something? Is there a hidden place in the documentation that indeed lists NSData for binary stuff?

    - by Dean
This question is along the same lines as What are some funny loading statements to keep my users amused, I want screenshots of all the coolest "error" pages site's throw up when something's broken. I know pandora.com talks about a panda ravaging it's way through the office, twitter's has the little birds floating around or something, sourceforge had one with some funny robots the other day. I'm sure I saw a blog once that had a bunch of them, but it's kinda hard to google "error pages". Community Wiki, of course :)

  • Installshield cannot find Vista Network drive : Recommended solution

    - by Run CMD
Our installer writes common files, shared betweeen users, to a user-selectable location. However, in Vista (and maybe in win7 too), the installer does not see any network drives or network locations. This is because in Vista, the drive is mapped to the current user, and the installer starts elevated, as administrator. I can't imagine i'm the first to experience this problem, so what's the recommended solution for this ? Just ignore it, and provide your own "Copy database folder to network" method in the software ?
