As you all know, when you build a project with an app.config file it gets copied to the bin directory and renamed $(targetFileName).config.
Is it possible for it to be called something else?
For example if my executable is called myApplication.exe, can I have the config file called settings.config as opposed to myApplication.exe.config?
Cheers
I have in the same folder a .bat and a .exe file.
I couldn't call the .exe file from the .bat unless I put the full absolute path to it.
Is there a way to don't specify the path?

The executable is at exec/, inputfile is at upload/ and outputfile is on compiled/. But I need that a PHP could run the application like that, then I want to know:
How could I do this on a server that have exec() disabled and I can't turn it on, because I don't have privileges to do it?

I'd like to debug PHP apps, but I want to setup Apache web server (httpd.exe).
I right clicked SERVERS, Add Server..., then noticed there is no option for httpd.exe, just for Glashfiish, JBoss, Apache Tomcat, and some other servers.
So, how can I add Apache Web Server (right from within the IDE just like other servers), and then properly debug PHP apps?
I am writing a application that monitor the system's health, user should know when they need to defrag the volumes.
What I am thinking is calling the "defrag.exe /A" then analyze the output result to see whether it contains "You do not need to defragment this volume."
But it's slow and very bad, I fount that the "Analyze" is really quick on the MyDefrag.exe.
Anyone could tell me what's the best and simplest way?
I'm using the latest TortoiseSVN and I've got *.exe in the global exclusion. But I now find that there are a couple of .exe files that I would like to check in.

How can I find out the folder where the windows service .exe file is installed dynamically?
Path.GetFullPath(relativePath);
returns a path based on C:\WINDOWS\system32 directory.
However, the XmlDocument.Load(string filename) method appears to be working against relative path inside the directory where the service .exe file is installed to.
Hey all
so i wehnt ahead and opened up my .gitconfig file and manually input the
[core]
editor = 'C:/Program Files/Notepad++/notepad++.exe'
which would allow me to execute command:

I have a Perl script that calls aspnet_compiler.exe to compile a large ASP.NET website. The problem is that it takes very long to run. Is there any way to compile just a single .aspx file from the command line? (I think that would suit the needs of my script) It seems that all aspnet_compiler.exe can do is compile at a directory level.

I need to launch two external programs in my program and connect the STDOUT of the first one to the STDIN of the second program. How can you achieve this in Delphi (RAD Studio 2009, if it matters)? I'm operating in Windows environment.
As a commandline command my situation would look something like this:
dumpdata.exe | encrypt.exe "mydata.dat"
I'm pretty sure that a Windows service gets C:\winnt (or similar) as its working directory when installed using InstallUtil.exe. Is there any way I can access, or otherwise capture (at install time), the directory from which the service was originally installed? At the moment I'm manually entering that into the app.exe.config file, but that's horribly manual and feels like a hack.
Is there a programmatic way, either at run time or install time, to determine where the service was installed from?
